1. അഞ്ചാം പുസ്തകം

1. Give thanks to the Lord for He is good! His loving-kindness lasts forever!

2. യഹോവേക്കു സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്വിന് ; അവന് നല്ലവനല്ലോ അവന്റെ ദയ എന്നേക്കുമുള്ളതു!

2. Let the people who have been saved say so. He has bought them and set them free from the hand of those who hated them.

3. യഹോവ വൈരിയുടെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു വീണ്ടെടുക്കയും കിഴക്കും പടിഞ്ഞാറും വടക്കും കടലിലും ഉള്ള

3. He gathered them from the lands, from east and west, from north and south.

4. ദേശങ്ങളില്നിന്നു കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്ക്കയും ചെയ്തവരായ അവന്റെ വിമുക്തന്മാര് അങ്ങനെ പറയട്ടെ.

4. Some traveled through the desert wastes. They did not find a way to a city where they could live.

5. അവര് മരുഭൂമിയില് ജനസഞ്ചാരമില്ലാത്ത വഴിയില് ഉഴന്നുനടന്നു; പാര്പ്പാന് ഒരു പട്ടണവും അവര് കണ്ടെത്തിയില്ല.

5. They were hungry and thirsty. Their souls became weak within them.

6. അവര് വിശന്നും ദാഹിച്ചും ഇരുന്നു; അവരുടെ പ്രാണന് അവരുടെ ഉള്ളില് തളര്ന്നു.

6. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble. And He took them out of their suffering.

7. അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ കഷ്ടതയില് യഹോവയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; അവന് അവരെ അവരുടെ ഞെരുക്കങ്ങളില് നിന്നു വിടുവിച്ചു.

7. He led them by a straight path to a city where they could live.

8. അവര് പാര്പ്പാന് തക്ക പട്ടണത്തില് ചെല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന് അവരെ ചൊവ്വെയുള്ള വഴിയില് നടത്തി.

8. Let them give thanks to the Lord for His loving-kindness and His great works to the children of men!

9. അവര് യഹോവയെ അവന്റെ നന്മയെ ചൊല്ലിയും മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരില് ചെയ്ത അത്ഭുതങ്ങളെ ചൊല്ലിയും സ്തുതിക്കട്ടെ.

9. For He fills the thirsty soul. And He fills the hungry soul with good things.

10. അവന് ആര്ത്തിയുള്ളവന്നു തൃപ്തിവരുത്തുകയും വിശപ്പുള്ളവനെ നന്മകൊണ്ടു നിറെക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

10. Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death. They suffered in prison in iron chains.

11. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളോടു മത്സരിക്കയും അത്യുന്നതന്റെ ആലോചനയെ നിരസിക്കയും ചെയ്തിട്ടു ഇരുളിലും അന്ധതമസ്സിലും ഇരുന്നു

11. Because they had turned against the Words of God. They hated what the Most High told them to do.

12. അരിഷ്ടതയാലും ഇരുമ്പുചങ്ങലയാലും ബന്ധിക്കപ്പെട്ടവര് -

12. So He loaded them down with hard work. They fell and there was no one to help.

13. അവരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തെ അവന് കഷ്ടതകൊണ്ടു താഴ്ത്തി; അവര് ഇടറിവീണു; സഹായിപ്പാന് ആരുമുണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.

13. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble. And He saved them from their suffering.

14. അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ കഷ്ടതയില് യഹോവയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; അവന് അവരുടെ ഞെരുക്കങ്ങളില്നിന്നു അവരെ രക്ഷിച്ചു.

14. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death. And He broke their chains.

15. അവന് അവരെ ഇരുട്ടില്നിന്നും അന്ധതമസ്സില്നിന്നും പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു; അവരുടെ ബന്ധനങ്ങളെ അറുത്തുകളഞ്ഞു.

15. Let them give thanks to the Lord for His loving-kindness and His great works to the children of men!

16. അവര് യഹോവയെ, അവന്റെ നന്മയെ ചൊല്ലിയും മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരില് ചെയ്ത അത്ഭുതങ്ങളെ ചൊല്ലിയും സ്തുതിക്കട്ടെ.

16. For He has broken gates of brass and cut through walls of iron.

17. അവന് താമ്രകതകുകളെ തകര്ത്തു, ഇരിമ്പോടാമ്പലുകളെ മുറിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

17. Some were fools because of their wrong-doing. They had troubles because of their sins.

18. ഭോഷന്മാര് തങ്ങളുടെ ലംഘനങ്ങള് ഹേതുവായും തങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങള്നിമിത്തവും കഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു.

18. They hated all kinds of food. And they came near the gates of death.

19. അവര്ക്കും സകലവിധ ഭക്ഷണത്തോടും വെറുപ്പുതോന്നി; അവര് മരണവാതിലുകളോടു സമീപിച്ചിരുന്നു.

19. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble. And He saved them from their suffering.

20. അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ കഷ്ടതയില് യഹോവയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; അവന് അവരെ അവരുടെ ഞെരുക്കങ്ങളില്നിന്നു രക്ഷിച്ചു.

20. He sent His Word and healed them. And He saved them from the grave.

21. അവന് തന്റെ വചനത്തെ അയച്ചു അവരെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി; അവരുടെ കുഴികളില്നിന്നു അവരെ വിടുവിച്ചു.

21. Let them give thanks to the Lord for His loving-kindness and His great works to the children of men!

22. അവര് യഹോവയെ അവന്റെ നന്മയെചൊല്ലിയും മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരില് ചെയ്ത അത്ഭുതങ്ങളെ ചൊല്ലിയും സ്തുതിക്കട്ടെ.

22. Let them give Him gifts of thanks and tell of His works with songs of joy.

23. അവര് സ്തോത്രയാഗങ്ങളെ കഴിക്കയും സംഗീതത്തോടുകൂടെ അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെ വര്ണ്ണിക്കയും ചെയ്യട്ടെ.

23. Some went out to sea in ships to buy and sell on the great waters.

24. കപ്പല് കയറി സമുദ്രത്തില് ഔടിയവര്, പെരുവെള്ളങ്ങളില് വ്യാപാരം ചെയ്തവര്,

24. They have seen what the Lord can do and His great works on the sea.

25. അവര് യഹോവയുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെയും ആഴിയില് അവന്റെ അത്ഭുതങ്ങളെയും കണ്ടു.

25. For He spoke and raised up a storm that lifted up the waves of the sea.

26. അവന് കല്പിച്ചു കൊടുങ്കാറ്റു അടിപ്പിച്ചു, അതു അതിലെ തിരകളെ പൊങ്ങുമാറാക്കി.

26. They went up to the heavens and down to the deep. Their strength of heart left them in their danger.

27. അവര് ആകാശത്തിലേക്കു ഉയര്ന്നു, വീണ്ടും ആഴത്തിലേക്കു താണു, അവരുടെ പ്രാണന് കഷ്ടത്താല് ഉരുകിപ്പോയി.

27. They could not walk straight but went from side to side like a drunk man. They did not know what to do.

28. അവര് മത്തനെപ്പോലെ തുള്ളി ചാഞ്ചാടിനടന്നു; അവരുടെ ബുദ്ധി പൊയ്പോയിരുന്നു.

28. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble. And He took them out of all their problems.

29. അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ കഷ്ടതയില് യഹോവയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; അവന് അവരെ അവരുടെ ഞെരുക്കങ്ങളില് നിന്നു വിടുവിച്ചു.

29. He stopped the storm, and the waves of the sea became quiet.

30. അവന് കൊടുങ്കാറ്റിനെ ശാന്തമാക്കി; തിരമാലകള് അടങ്ങി.

30. Then they were glad because the sea became quiet. And He led them to the safe place they wanted.

31. ശാന്തത വന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവര് സന്തോഷിച്ചു; അവര് ആഗ്രഹിച്ച തുറമുഖത്തു അവന് അവരെ എത്തിച്ചു.

31. Let them give thanks to the Lord for His loving-kindness and His great works to the children of men!

32. അവര് യഹോവയെ അവന്റെ നന്മയെ ചൊല്ലിയും മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരില് ചെയ്ത അത്ഭുതങ്ങളെ ചൊല്ലിയും സ്തുതിക്കട്ടെ.

32. Let them honor Him in the meeting of the people and praise Him in the meeting of the leaders.

33. അവര് ജനത്തിന്റെ സഭയില് അവനെ പുകഴ്ത്തുകയും മൂപ്പന്മാരുടെ സംഘത്തില് അവനെ സ്തുതിക്കയും ചെയ്യട്ടേ.

33. He changes rivers into a desert and wells of water into a thirsty ground.

34. നിവാസികളുടെ ദുഷ്ടതനിമിത്തം അവന് നദികളെ മരുഭൂമിയും

34. He changes a land of much fruit into a salt waste because of the sin of those who live in it.

35. നീരുറവുകളെ വരണ്ട നിലവും ഫലപ്രദമായ ഭൂമിയെ ഉവര്ന്നിലവും ആക്കി.

35. He changes a desert into a pool of water and makes water flow out of dry ground.

36. അവന് മരുഭൂമിയെ ജലതടാകവും വരണ്ട നിലത്തെ നീരുറവുകളും ആക്കി.

36. And He makes the hungry go there so they may build a city to live in.

37. വിശന്നവരെ അവന് അവിടെ പാര്പ്പിച്ചു; അവര് പാര്പ്പാന് പട്ടണം ഉണ്ടാക്കുകയും നിലം വിതെക്കയും

37. They plant seeds in the fields and plant grape-vines and gather much fruit.

38. മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം നട്ടുണ്ടാക്കുകയും നമൃദ്ധിയായി ഫലങ്ങളെ അനുഭവിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

38. He lets good come to them and they become many in number. And He does not let the number of their cattle become less.

39. അവന് അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിട്ടു അവര് അത്യന്തം പെരുകി; അവരുടെ കന്നുകാലികള് കുറഞ്ഞുപോകുവാന് അവന് ഇടവരുത്തിയില്ല.

39. When the number of people becomes less and they are put to shame under a bad power and trouble and sorrow,

40. പീഡനവും കഷ്ടതയും സങ്കടവും ഹേതുവായി അവര് പിന്നെയും കുറഞ്ഞു താണുപോയി.

40. He pours anger on rulers. He makes them walk in the waste places where there is no path.

41. അവന് പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെമേല് നിന്ദപകരുകയും വഴിയില്ലാത്ത ശൂന്യപ്രദേശത്തു അവരെ ഉഴലുമാറാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

41. But He lifts those in need out of their troubles. He makes their families grow like flocks.

42. അവന് ദരിദ്രനെ പീഡയില്നിന്നു ഉയര്ത്തി അവന്റെ കുലങ്ങളെ ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടംപോലെ ആക്കി.

42. Those who are right see it and are glad. But all the sinful shut their mouths.

43. നേരുള്ളവര് ഇതു കണ്ടു സന്തോഷിക്കും; നീതികെട്ടവര് ഒക്കെയും വായ്പൊത്തും.

43. Let the wise man think about these things. And may he think about the lovingkindness of the Lord.
