1. നിങ്ങള് ദേശാധിപതിക്കു വേണ്ടിയുള്ള കുഞ്ഞാടുകളെ സേലയില്നിന്നു മരുഭൂമിവഴിയായി സീയോന് പുത്രിയുടെ പര്വ്വതത്തിലേക്കു കൊടുത്തയപ്പിന് .

1. Send ye the lambs for the ruler of the land from Selah to the wilderness, unto the mount of the daughter of Zion.

2. മോവാബിന്റെ പുത്രിമാര് കൂടു വിട്ടലയുന്ന പക്ഷികളെപ്പോലെ അര്ന്നോന്റെ കടവുകളില് ഇരിക്കും.

2. For it shall be that, as wandering birds, as a scattered nest, so shall the daughters of Moab be at the fords of the Arnon.

3. ആലോചന പറഞ്ഞുതരിക; മദ്ധ്യസ്ഥം ചെയ്ക; നിന്റെ നിഴലിനെ നട്ടുച്ചെക്കു രാത്രിയെപ്പോലെ ആക്കുക; ഭ്രഷ്ടന്മാരെ ഒളിപ്പിക്ക; അലഞ്ഞു നടക്കുന്നവനെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കരുതു.

3. Give counsel, execute justice; make thy shade as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; betray not the fugitive.

4. മോവാബിന്റെ ഭ്രഷ്ടന്മാര് നിന്നോടുകൂടെ പാര്ത്തുകൊള്ളട്ടെ; കവര്ച്ചക്കാരന്റെ മുമ്പില് നീ അവര്ക്കും ഒരു മറവായിരിക്ക; എന്നാല് പീഡകന് ഇല്ലാതെയാകും; കവര്ച്ച അവസാനിക്കും; ചവിട്ടിക്കളയുന്നവര് ദേശത്തുനിന്നു മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകും.

4. Let mine outcasts dwell with thee; as for Moab, be thou a covert to him from the face of the destroyer. For the extortioner is brought to nought, destruction ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.

5. അങ്ങനെ ദയയാല് സിംഹാസനം സ്ഥിരമായ്വരും; അതിന്മേല് ദാവീദിന്റെ കൂടാരത്തില്നിന്നു ഒരുത്തന് ന്യായപാലനം ചെയ്തും ന്യായതല്പരനായും നീതിനടത്തുവാന് വേഗതയുള്ളവനായും നേരോടെ ഇരിക്കും.

5. And a throne shall be established in lovingkindness; and one shall sit thereon in truth, in the tent of David, judging, and seeking justice, and swift to do righteousness.

6. ഞങ്ങള് മോവാബിന്റെ ഗര്വ്വത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടു; അവന് മഹാഗര്വ്വിയാകുന്നു; അവന്റെ നിഗളത്തെയും ഡംഭത്തെയും ക്രോധത്തെയും വ്യര്ത്ഥപ്രശംസയെയും കുറിച്ചും കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടു.

6. We have heard of the pride of Moab, [that] he is very proud; even of his arrogancy, and his pride, and his wrath; his boastings are nought.

7. അതുകൊണ്ടു മോവാബിനെപ്പറ്റി മോവാബ് തന്നേ മുറയിടും; എല്ലാവരും മുറയിടും; കീര്-ഹരേശെത്തിന്റെ മുന്തിരിയടകളെക്കുറിച്ചു നിങ്ങള് കേവലം ദുഃഖിതന്മാരായി വിലപിക്കും.

7. Therefore shall Moab wail for Moab, every one shall wail: for the raisin-cakes of Kir-hareseth shall ye mourn, utterly stricken.

8. ഹെശ്ബേന് വയലുകളും ശിബ്മയിലെ മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയും ഉണങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്നു; അതിലെ മേത്തരമായ വള്ളിയെ ജാതികളുടെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് ഒടിച്ചു കളഞ്ഞു; അതു യസേര്വരെ നീണ്ടു മരുഭൂമിയിലോളം പടര്ന്നിരുന്നു; അതിന്റെ ശാഖകള് പടര്ന്നു കടല് കടന്നിരുന്നു.

8. For the fields of Heshbon languish, [and] the vine of Sibmah; the lords of the nations have broken down the choice branches thereof, which reached even unto Jazer, which wandered into the wilderness; its shoots were spread abroad, they passed over the sea.

9. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് യസേരിനോടുകൂടെ ശിബ്മയിലെ മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയെക്കുറിച്ചു കരയും; ഹെശ്ബോനേ, എലെയാലേ, ഞാന് നിന്നെ എന്റെ കണ്ണുനീരുകൊണ്ടു നനെക്കും; നിന്റെ വേനല്ക്കനികള്ക്കും നിന്റെ കൊയ്ത്തിന്നും പോര് വിളി നേരിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

9. Therefore I will weep with the weeping of Jazer for the vine of Sibmah; I will water thee with my tears, O Heshbon, and Elealeh: for upon thy summer fruits and upon thy harvest the [battle] shout is fallen.

10. സന്തോഷവും ആനന്ദവും വിളനിലത്തുനിന്നു പോയ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു; മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടങ്ങളില് പാട്ടില്ല, ഉല്ലാസഘോഷവുമില്ല; ചവിട്ടുകാര് ചക്കുകളില് മുന്തിരിങ്ങാ ചവിട്ടുകയുമില്ല; മുന്തിരിക്കൊയ്ത്തിന്റെ ആര്പ്പുവിളി ഞാന് നിര്ത്തിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

10. And gladness is taken away, and joy out of the fruitful field; and in the vineyards there shall be no singing, neither joyful noise: no treader shall tread out wine in the presses; I have made the [vintage] shout to cease.

11. അതുകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ ഉള്ളം മോവാബിനെക്കുറിച്ചും എന്റെ അന്തരംഗം കീര്ഹേരെശിനെക്കുറിച്ചും കിന്നരംപോലെ മുഴങ്ങുന്നു.

11. Wherefore my heart soundeth like a harp for Moab, and mine inward parts for Kir-heres.

12. പിന്നെ മോവാബ് പൂജാഗിരിയില് ചെന്നു പാടുപെട്ടു ക്ഷേത്രത്തില് പ്രാര്ത്ഥിപ്പാന് കടന്നാല് അവന് കൃതാര്ത്ഥനാകയില്ല.

12. And it shall come to pass, when Moab presenteth himself, when he wearieth himself upon the high place, and shall come to his sanctuary to pray, that he shall not prevail.

13. ഇതാകുന്നു യഹോവ പണ്ടു തന്നേ മോവാബിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനം.

13. This is the word that Jehovah spake concerning Moab in time past.

14. ഇപ്പോള് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നതോകൂലിക്കാരന്റെ ആണ്ടുപോലെയുള്ള മൂന്നു ആണ്ടിന്നകം മോവാബിന്റെ മഹത്വം അവന്റെ സര്വ്വമഹാപുരുഷാരത്തോടുകൂടെ തുച്ഛീകരിക്കപ്പെടും; അവന്റെ ശേഷിപ്പു അത്യല്പവും അഗണ്യവും ആയിരിക്കും.

14. But now Jehovah hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of a hireling, the glory of Moab shall be brought into contempt, with all his great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and of no account.
