1. യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകന് മുഖാന്തരം യഹോവ ബാബേലിനെക്കുറിച്ചും കല്ദയദേശത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും കല്പിച്ച അരുളപ്പാടു

1. Concerning the sons of Ammon, thus says the Lord: Are there no sons in Israel? Or have they no one to succeed [them]? Why has Milcom inherited Gilead, and why shall their people dwell in their cities?

2. ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില് പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കുവിന് ; കൊടി ഉയര്ത്തുവിന് ; മറെച്ചുവെക്കാതെ ഘോഷിപ്പിന് ; ബാബേല് പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; ബേല് ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോയി, മേരോദാക് തകര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിലെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങള് ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോയി, അതിലെ ബിംബങ്ങള് തകര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറവിന് .

2. Therefore behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will cause a tumult of wars to be heard in Rabbah; and they shall become a waste and ruined place, and her altars shall be burned with fire; then shall Israel succeed to his dominion.

4. Why do you boast in the plains of the Enakim, you haughty daughter, that trust in [your] treasures, that say, Who shall come in to me?

5. Behold, I [will] bring terror upon you, says the Lord, from all the country round about you; and you shall be scattered, everyone right before him, and there is none to gather you.

6. എന്റെ ജനം കാണാതെപോയ ആടുകള് ആയീത്തീര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ഇടയന്മാര് അവരെ തെറ്റിച്ചു മലകളില് ഉഴന്നുനടക്കുമാറാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവര് മലയില്നിന്നു കുന്നിന്മേല് പോയി തങ്ങളുടെ കിടപ്പിടം മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

7. അവരെ കാണുന്നവരൊക്കെയും അവരെ തിന്നുകളയുന്നു; അവരുടെ വൈരികള്നാം കുറ്റം ചെയ്യുന്നില്ല; അവര് നീതിനിവാസമായ യഹോവയോടു, അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ പ്രത്യാശയായ യഹോവയോടു തന്നേ, പാപം ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

7. Concerning Edom, thus says the Lord: There is no longer wisdom in Teman, counsel has perished from the wise ones, their wisdom is gone,

8. ബാബേലില്നിന്നു ഔടി കല്ദയദേശം വിട്ടു പോകുവിന് ; ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടത്തിന്നു മുമ്പായി നടക്കുന്ന മുട്ടാടുകളെപ്പോലെ ആയിരിപ്പിന് .

8. their place has been deceived. Dig deep for a dwelling, you that inhabit Dedan, for he has wrought grievously. I have brought trouble upon him in the time at which I visited him.

9. ഞാന് ബാബേലിന്റെ നേരെ വടക്കെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു മഹാജാതികളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തെ ഉണര്ത്തി വരുത്തും; അവര് അതിന്റെ നേരെ അണി നിരത്തും; അവിടെവെച്ചു അതു പിടിക്കപ്പെടും; അവരുടെ അമ്പുകള് വെറുതെ മടങ്ങാതെ സമര്ത്ഥവീരന്റെ അമ്പുകള് പോലെ ഇരിക്കും.

9. For grape gatherers have come, who shall not leave to you a remnant; as thieves by night, they shall lay their hand upon [your possessions].

10. കല്ദയദേശം കൊള്ളയിട്ടുപോകും; അതിനെ കൊള്ളയിടുന്നവര്ക്കും ഏവര്ക്കും തൃപ്തിവരും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

10. For I have stripped Esau, I have uncovered their secret places; they shall have no power to hide themselves, they have perished, [each] by the hand of his brother, My neighbor, and it is impossible

11. for your fatherless one to be left to live, but I shall live, and the widows trust in Me.

12. For thus says the Lord: They who were not appointed to drink the cup have drunk; and you shall by no means be cleared.

13. യഹോവയുടെ ക്രോധം ഹേതുവായി അതു നിവാസികള് ഇല്ലാതെ അശേഷം ശൂന്യമായിത്തീരും; ബാബേലിന്നരികത്തു കൂടി കടന്നുപോകുന്ന ഏവരും സ്തംഭിച്ചു അതിന്റെ സകല ബാധകളും നിമിത്തം ചൂളുകുത്തും.

13. For by Myself I have sworn, says the Lord, that you shall be in the midst of her an impassable [land], and a reproach, and a curse; and all her cities shall be deserted forever.

14. ബാബേലിന്റെ നേരെ ചുറ്റം അണിനിരത്തുവിന് ; എല്ലാ വില്ലാളികളുമായുള്ളോരേ, അമ്പുകളെ ലോഭിക്കാതെ അതിലേക്കു എയ്തുവിടുവിന് ; അതു യഹോവയോടു പാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

14. I have heard a report from the Lord, and He has sent messengers to the nations, [saying,] Assemble yourselves, and come against her; rise up to war.

15. അതിന്നുചുറ്റും നിന്നു ആര്പ്പിടുവിന് ; അതു കീഴടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ കൊത്തളങ്ങള് വീണുപോയി; അതിന്റെ മതിലുകള് ഇടിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇതു യഹോവയുടെ പ്രതികാരമല്ലോ; അതിനോടു പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്വിന് ; അതു ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അതിനോടും ചെയ്വിന് .

15. I have made you small among the nations, utterly contemptible among men.

16. Your insolence has risen up against you, the fierceness of your heart has burst the holes of the rocks, it has seized upon the strength of a lofty hill; for as an eagle he set his nest on high; from there will I bring you down.

17. യിസ്രായേല് ചിന്നിപ്പോയ ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടം ആകുന്നു; സിംഹങ്ങള് അതിനെ ഔടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; ആദ്യം അശ്ശൂര്രാജാവു അതിനെ തിന്നു; ഒടുക്കം ഇപ്പോള് ബാബേല്രാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസര് അതിന്റെ അസ്ഥികളെ ഒടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

17. And Edom shall be a desert; everyone that passes by shall hiss at it.

18. As Sodom and Gomorrah were overthrown, and they that sojourned in her, says the Lord Almighty, no man shall dwell there, nor shall any son of man inhabit there.

19. പിന്നെ ഞാന് യിസ്രായേലിനെ അവന്റെ മേച്ചല്പുറത്തേക്കു മടക്കിവരുത്തും; അവന് കര്മ്മേലിലും ബാശാനിലും മേഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും; എഫ്രയീംമലനാട്ടിലും ഗിലെയാദിലും മേഞ്ഞു അവന്നു തൃപ്തിവരും.

19. Behold, he shall come up as a lion out of the midst of the Jordan to the place of Etham; for I will speedily drive them from it, and I will set the young men against her; for who is like Me? And who will withstand Me? And who [is] this shepherd, who shall confront Me?

20. ഞാന് ശേഷിപ്പിച്ചുവെക്കുന്നവരോടു ക്ഷമിക്കയാല് ആ നാളുകളില് ആ കാലത്തു, യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ അകൃത്യം അന്വേഷിച്ചാല് അതു ഇല്ലാതെ ഇരിക്കും; യെഹൂദയുടെ പാപങ്ങള് അന്വേഷിച്ചാല് കാണുകയില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

20. Therefore hear the counsel of the Lord which He has framed against Edom, and his device, which he has devised against the inhabitants of Teman: surely the least of the sheep shall be swept off; surely their dwelling shall be made desolate for them.

21. ദ്വിമത്സരം (മെറാഥയീം) എന്ന ദേശത്തിന്റെ നേരെ ചെല്ലുക; അതിന്റെ നേരെയും സന്ദര്ശനം (പെക്കോദ്) എന്ന പട്ടണത്തിലെ നിവാസികളുടെ നേരെയും തന്നേ; നീ അവരുടെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു വെട്ടി നിര്മ്മൂലനാശം വരുത്തി ഞാന് കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്ക എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

21. For at the sound of their fall the earth was scared, and the cry of the sea was not heard.

22. യുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ ആരവവും മഹാസംഹാരവും ദേശത്തില് ഉണ്ടു.

22. Behold, He shall look [upon her] as an eagle, and spread forth [His] wings over her strongholds; and the heart of the mighty men of Edom shall be in that day as the heart of a woman in her pangs.

23. സര്വ്വഭൂമിയുടെയും ചുറ്റിക പിളര്ന്നു തകര്ന്നുപോയതെങ്ങനെ? ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില് ബാബേല് ശൂന്യമായിത്തീര്ന്നതെങ്ങനെ?

23. Concerning Damascus: Hamath is brought to shame, and Arpad; for they have heard an evil report. They are amazed, they are angry, they shall be utterly unable to rest.

24. ബാബേലേ, ഞാന് നിനക്കു കണിവെച്ചു, നീ അറിയാതെ അകപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്നെ കണ്ടെത്തി പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയോടല്ലോ നീ പൊരുതിയതു.

24. Damascus is utterly weakened, she is put to flight; trembling has seized upon her.

25. യഹോവ തന്റെ ആയുധശാല തുറന്നു തന്റെ ക്രോധത്തിന്റെ ആയുധങ്ങളെ എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവിന്നു കല്ദയദേശത്തു ഒരു പ്രവൃത്തി ചെയ്വാനുണ്ടു.

25. How has she not left My city, they have loved the village?

26. സകലദിക്കുകളിലും നിന്നു അതിന്റെ നേരെ വന്നു അതിന്റെ കളപ്പുരകളെ തുറപ്പിന് ; അതിനെ കറ്റപോലെ കൂമ്പാരം കൂട്ടുവിന് ; അതില് ഒന്നും ശേഷിപ്പിക്കാതെ നിര്മ്മൂലനാശം വരുത്തുവിന് ;

26. Therefore shall the young men fall in your streets, and all your warriors shall fall, says the Lord.

27. അതിലെ കാളയെ ഒക്കെയും കൊല്ലുവിന് ; അവ കുലെക്കു ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോകട്ടെ; അവര്ക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; അവരുടെ നാള്, അവരുടെ സന്ദര്ശനകാലം വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

27. And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall devour the streets of the son of Ader.

28. നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ പ്രതികാരം, തന്റെ മന്ദിരത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടിയുള്ള പ്രതികാരം തന്നേ, സീയോനില് അറിയിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ബാബേല്ദേശത്തുനിന്നു രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടു ഔടിപ്പോകുന്നവരുടെ ഘോഷം!

28. Concerning Kedar, the queen of the palace, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon struck, thus says the Lord: Arise, and go up to Kedar, and fill the sons of Kedem.

29. ബാബേലിന്റെ നേരെ വില്ലാളികളെ വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടുവിന് ; വില്ലു കുലെക്കുന്ന ഏവരുമായുള്ളോരേ, അതിന്റെ നേരെ ചുറ്റും പാളയമിറങ്ങുവിന് ; ആരും അതില് നിന്നു ചാടിപ്പോകരുതു; അതിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം അതിന്നു പകരം കൊടുപ്പിന് ; അതു ചെയ്തതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും അതിനോടും ചെയ്വിന് ; അതു യഹോവയോടു, യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനോടു തന്നേ, അഹങ്കാരം കാണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

29. They shall take their tents and their sheep, they shall take for themselves their garments, and all their baggage and their camels; and summon destruction against them from every side.

30. അതുകൊണ്ടു അതിലെ യൌവനക്കാര് അതിന്റെ വീഥികളില് വീഴും; അതിലെ യോദ്ധാക്കാള് ഒക്കെയും അന്നു നശിച്ചുപോകും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

30. Flee, dig very deep for a dwelling place, you that dwell in the palace; for the king of Babylon has framed a counsel, and devised a device against you.

31. അഹങ്കാരിയോ, ഞാന് നിനക്കു വിരോധിയായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു; നിന്റെ നാള്, ഞാന് നിന്നെ സന്ദര്ശിക്കുന്ന കാലം, വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

31. Rise up, and go up against a nation settled [and] dwelling at ease, who have no doors, nor bolts, nor bars, [who] dwell alone.

32. അഹങ്കാരി ഇടറി വീഴും; ആരും അവനെ എഴുന്നേല്പിക്കയില്ല; ഞാന് അവന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങള്ക്കു തീ വേക്കും; അതു അവന്റെ ചുറ്റുമുള്ള എല്ലാവരെയും ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.

32. And their camels shall be a spoil, and the multitude of their cattle shall be destroyed; and I will scatter them as chaff with every wind, having their hair cut about their foreheads; I will bring on their overthrow from all sides, says the Lord.

33. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുയിസ്രായേല്മക്കളും യെഹൂദാമക്കളും ഒരുപോലെ പീഡിതരായിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരെ ബദ്ധരാക്കി കൊണ്ടുപോയവരൊക്കെയും അവരെ വിട്ടയപ്പാന് മനസ്സില്ലാതെ മുറുകെ പിടിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു.

33. And the palace shall be a resting place for ostriches, and desolate forever. No man shall abide there, and no son of man shall dwell there.

34. എന്നാല് അവരുടെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരന് ശക്തിമാന് ; സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ എന്നാകുന്നു അവന്റെ നാമം; ഭൂമിക്കു സ്വസ്ഥത വരുത്തേണ്ടതിന്നും ബാബേല്നിവാസികള്ക്കു സ്വസ്ഥത വരുത്തേണ്ടതിന്നും അവരുടെ വ്യവഹാരം അവന് ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ നടത്തും.

34. The prophecies of Jeremiah against the nations of Elam:

35. കല്ദയരുടെ മേലും ബാബേല്നിവാസികളുടെമേലും അതിന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെ മേലും ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ മേലും വാള് വരുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

35. Thus says the Lord: The bow of Elam is broken, [even] the chief of their power.

36. വമ്പു പറയുന്നവര് ഭോഷന്മാരാകത്തക്കവണ്ണം അവരുടെ മേല് വാള് വരും; അതിലെ വീരന്മാര് ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോകത്തക്കവണ്ണം അവരുടെ മേലും വാള് വരും.

36. And I will bring upon Elam the four winds from the four corners of heaven, and I will disperse them toward all these winds; and there shall be no nation [to] which they shall not come, [even] the outcasts of Elam.

37. അവരുടെ കുതിരകളുടെമേലും രഥങ്ങളുടെമേലും അതിന്റെ നടുവിലെ സര്വ്വസമ്മിശ്രജാതിയും സ്ത്രീകളെപ്പോലെ ആയിത്തീരത്തക്കവണ്ണം അവരുടെ മേലും വാള് വരും; അതിന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരങ്ങള് കവര്ന്നുപോകത്തക്കവണ്ണം അവയുടെ മേലും വാള്വരും.

37. And I will put them in fear before their enemies that seek their life; and I will bring evils upon them according to My great anger; and I will send forth My sword after them, until I have utterly destroyed them.

38. അതിലെ വെള്ളം വറ്റിപ്പോകത്തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാന് അതിന്മേല് വറുതി വരുത്തും; അതു വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളുടെ ദേശമല്ലോ; ഘോരബിംബങ്ങള് നിമിത്തം അവര് ഭ്രന്തന്മാരായിരിക്കുന്നു.

38. And I will set My throne in Elam, and I will send forth from there king and rulers.

39. ആകയാല് അവിടെ മരുമൃഗങ്ങള് കുറുനരികളോടുകൂടെ പാര്ക്കും; ഒട്ടകപ്പക്ഷിയും അവിടെ വസിക്കും; ഇനി അതില് ഒരു നാളും കുടിപാര്പ്പുണ്ടാകയില്ല; തലമുറതലമുറയായി അതു നിവാസികള് ഇല്ലാതെ കിടക്കും.

39. But it shall come to pass at the end of days, that I will turn the captivity of Elam, says the Lord.
