1. പതിനൊന്നാം ആണ്ടു, മൂന്നാം മാസം, ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതി യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. On the first day of the third month in the eleventh year, the Word of the Lord came to me saying,

2. മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നീ മിസ്രയീംരാജാവായ ഫറവോനോടും അവന്റെ പുരുഷാരത്തോടും പറയേണ്ടതുനിന്റെ മഹത്വത്തില് നീ ആര്ക്കും സമന് ?

2. 'Son of man, say to Pharaoh king of Egypt and to his people, 'Who can be compared with you in greatness?

3. അശ്ശൂര് ലെബാനോനില് ഭംഗിയുള്ള കൊമ്പുകളോടും തണലുള്ള ഇലകളോടും പൊക്കത്തിലുള്ള വളര്ച്ചയോടും കൂടിയ ഒരു ദേവദാരുവായിരുന്നുവല്ലോ; അതിന്റെ തുഞ്ചം മേഘങ്ങളോളം എത്തിയിരുന്നു.

3. Look at Assyria, once a cedar in Lebanon with beautiful branches and many leaves. It was very high, and its top was among the heavy branches.

4. വെള്ളം അതിനെ വളര്ത്തി ആഴി അതിനെ ഉയരുമാറാക്കി; അതിന്റെ നദികള് തോട്ടത്തെ ചുറ്റി ഒഴുകി, അതു തന്റെ ഒഴുക്കുകളെ വയലിലെ സകല വൃക്ഷങ്ങളുടെയും അടുക്കലേക്കു അയച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

4. The waters made it grow, and the water under the ground made it grow high. Its rivers flowed all around its base, and spread water to all the trees of the field.

5. അതുകൊണ്ടു അതു വളര്ന്നു വയലിലെ സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളെക്കാളും പൊങ്ങി; അതു വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ പെരുപ്പംകൊണ്ടു പടര്ന്നു തന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളെ പെരുക്കി ചില്ലികളെ നീട്ടി.

5. So it was higher than all the trees of the field. And it grew many long and spreading branches because it had so much water.

6. അതിന്റെ ചില്ലികളില് ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവ ഒക്കെയും കൂടുണ്ടാക്കി; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളുടെ കീഴെ കാട്ടുമൃഗം ഒക്കെയും പെറ്റുകിടന്നു; അതിന്റെ തണലില് വലിയ ജാതികളൊക്കെയും പാര്ത്തു.

6. All the birds of the air made their nests in its branches. And under its branches all the animals of the field gave birth. All great nations lived in its shadow.

7. ഇങ്ങനെ അതിന്റെ വേര് വളരെ വെള്ളത്തിന്നരികെ ആയിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അതു വലുതായി കൊമ്പുകളെ നീട്ടി ശോഭിച്ചിരുന്നു.

7. It was beautiful in its greatness with its spreading branches, for its roots went down to much water.

8. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ തോട്ടത്തിലെ ദേവദാരുക്കള്ക്കു അതിനെ മറെപ്പാന് കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല; സരളവൃക്ഷങ്ങള് അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളോടു തുല്യമായിരുന്നില്ല; അരിഞ്ഞില്വൃക്ഷങ്ങള് അതിന്റെ ചില്ലികളോടു ഒത്തിരുന്നില്ല; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ തോട്ടത്തിലെ ഒരു വൃക്ഷവും ഭംഗിയില് അതിനോടു സമമായിരുന്നതുമില്ല.

8. The cedars in God's garden could not compare with it. The fir trees and the chestnut trees could not compare with its branches. No tree in God's garden was like it in beauty.

9. കൊമ്പുകളുടെ പെരുപ്പം കൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അതിന്നു ഭംഗിവരുത്തിയതിനാല് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ തോട്ടമായ ഏദെനിലെ സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും അതിനോടു അസൂയപ്പെട്ടു.

9. I made it beautiful with its many branches. And all the trees that were in Eden were jealous of it.

10. അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഅതു വളര്ന്നുപൊങ്ങി തുഞ്ചം മേഘങ്ങളോളം നീട്ടി അതിന്റെ ഹൃദയം തന്റെ വളര്ച്ചയിങ്കല് ഗര്വ്വിച്ചുപോയതുകൊണ്ടു

10. 'So the Lord God says, 'Because it has grown high with its top among the heavy branches, its heart has become proud,

11. ഞാന് അതിനെ ജാതികളില് ബലവാനായവന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കും; അവന് അതിനോടു ഇടപെടും; അതിന്റെ ദുഷ്ടത നിമിത്തം ഞാന് അതിനെ തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

11. I will give it over to a powerful ruler of the nations, and he will punish it. Because of its sin, I will drive it out.

12. ജാതികളില് ഉഗ്രന്മാരായ അന്യജാതിക്കാര് അതിനെ വെട്ടി തള്ളിയിട്ടു; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകള് മലകളിലും എല്ലാ താഴ്വരകളിലും വീണു; അതിന്റെ ശാഖകള് ദേശത്തിലെ എല്ലാതോടുകളുടെയും അരികത്തു ഒടിഞ്ഞുകിടക്കുന്നു; ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലജാതികളും അതിന്റെ തണല് വിട്ടിറങ്ങി അതിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുപോയി.

12. Rulers from other nations will cut it down and leave it. Its branches will fall on the mountains and in all the valleys. Its spreading branches will be broken in all the deep valleys of the land. All the people of the earth will go away from its shadow and leave it.

13. വീണുകിടക്കുന്ന അതിന്റെ തടിമേല് ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവ ഒക്കെയും പാര്ക്കും; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളുടെ ഇടയിലേക്കു കാട്ടുമൃഗം ഒക്കെയും വരും.

13. All the birds of the air will live on its broken pieces. And all the animals of the field will be on its fallen branches.

14. വെള്ളത്തിന്നരികെയുള്ള സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ഉയരം ഹേതുവായി ഗര്വ്വിക്കയോ തുഞ്ചം മേഘങ്ങളോളം നീട്ടുകയോ വെള്ളം കുടിക്കുന്നവരായ അവരുടെ സകലബലശാലികളും തങ്ങളുടെ ഉയര്ച്ചയിങ്കല് നിഗളിച്ചു നില്ക്കയോ ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ; അവരൊക്കെയും മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില് കുഴിയില് ഇറങ്ങുന്നവരോടുകൂടെ ഭൂമിയുടെ അധോഭാഗത്തു മരണത്തിന്നു ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

14. This will be so that no trees by the water will grow high with their tops among the heavy branches. No trees that drink water will ever grow so high. For they have all been given over to death. They will go to the earth below, among men who die and go down to the grave.'

15. യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഅതു പാതാളത്തില് ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോയ നാളില് ഞാന് ഒരു വിലാപം കഴിപ്പിച്ചു; അതിന്നുവേണ്ടി ആഴത്തെ മൂടി പെരുവെള്ളം കെട്ടിനില്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അതിന്റെ നദികളെ തടുത്തു; അതുനിമിത്തം ഞാന് ലെബാനോനെ കറുപ്പുടുപ്പിച്ചു; കാട്ടിലെ സകല വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും അതുനിമിത്തം ക്ഷീണിച്ചു പോയി.

15. 'The Lord God says, 'When it goes down to the place of the dead, I will make the waters under the ground cover it in sorrow. I will stop its rivers of water and fill Lebanon with sorrow over it. All the trees of the field will waste away because of it.

16. ഞാന് അതിനെ കുഴിയില് ഇറങ്ങുന്നവരോടുകൂടെ പാതാളത്തില് തള്ളിയിട്ടപ്പോള്, അതിന്റെ വീഴ്ചയുടെ മുക്കത്തിങ്കല് ഞാന് ജാതികളെ നടുങ്ങുമാറാക്കി; ഏദെനിലെ സകല വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ലെബാനോനിലെ ശ്രേഷ്ഠവും ഉത്തമവുമായി വെള്ളം കുടിക്കുന്ന സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ഭൂമിയുടെ അധോഭാഗത്തു ആശ്വാസം പ്രാപിച്ചു.

16. I will make the nations shake in fear at the sound of its fall when I send it to the place of the dead with those who go down to the grave. Then all the well-watered trees of Eden, the best of Lebanon, will be comforted in the earth below.

17. അവയും അതിനോടുകൂടെ വാളാല് നിഹതന്മാരായവരുടെ അടുക്കല് പാതാളത്തില് ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോയി; അതിന്റെ തുണയായി അതിന്റെ നിഴലില് ജാതികളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ പാര്ത്തവര് തന്നേ.

17. And those who lived under its shadow among the nations will go down to the place of the dead with it, to those who were killed by the sword.

18. അങ്ങനെ നീ മഹത്വത്തിലും വലിപ്പത്തിലും ഏദെനിലെ വൃക്ഷങ്ങളില് ഏതിനോടു തുല്യമാകുന്നു? എന്നാല് നീ ഏദെനിലെ വൃക്ഷങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഭൂമിയുടെ അധോഭാഗത്തു ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോകേണ്ടിവരും; വാളാല് നിഹതന്മാരായവരോടുകൂടെ നീ അഗ്രചര്മ്മികളുടെ ഇടയില് കിടക്കും. ഇതു ഫറവോനും അവന്റെ സകലപുരുഷാരവും തന്നേ എാന്നു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

18. 'Which of the trees of Eden can be compared with you in beauty and greatness? Yet you will be brought down with the trees of Eden to the earth below. You will lie among the sinful, with those who were killed by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his people!' ' says the Lord God.'
