1. എനിക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; പഴം പറിച്ച ശേഷമെന്നപോലെയും മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം പറിച്ചശേഷം കാലാ പെറുക്കുന്നതുപോലെയും ഞാന് ആയല്ലോ! തിന്മാന് ഒരു മുന്തിരിക്കുലയും ഇല്ല; ഞാന് കൊതിക്കുന്ന അത്തിയുടെ തലപ്പഴവുമില്ല.

1. Sorrow is mine! for I am as when they have got in the summer fruits, like the last of the grapes: there is nothing for food, not even an early fig for my desire.

2. ഭക്തിമാന് ഭൂമിയില്നിന്നു നശിച്ചുപോയി, മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയില് നേരുള്ളവന് ആരുമില്ല; അവരൊക്കെയും രക്തത്തിന്നായി പതിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ സഹോദരനെ വല വെച്ചു പിടിപ്പാന് നോക്കുന്നു.

2. The good man is gone from the earth, there is no one upright among men: they are all waiting secretly for blood, every man is going after his brother with a net.

3. ജാഗ്രതയോടെ ദോഷം പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ കൈ അതിലേക്കു നീണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; പ്രഭു പ്രതിഫലം ചോദിക്കുന്നു; ന്യായാധിപതി പ്രതിഫലം വാങ്ങി ന്യായം വിധിക്കുന്നു; മഹാന് തന്റെ മനസ്സിലെ ദുരാഗ്രഹം പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെ അവര് പിരിമുറുക്കുന്നു.

3. Their hands are made ready to do evil; the ruler makes requests for money, and the judge is looking for a reward; and the great man gives decisions at his pleasure, and the right is twisted.

4. അവരില് ഉത്തമന് മുള്പടര്പ്പുപോലെ; നേരുള്ളവന് മുള്വേലിയെക്കാള് വല്ലാത്തവന് തന്നേ; നിന്റെ ദര്ശകന്മാര് പറഞ്ഞ ദിവസം, നിന്റെ സന്ദര്ശനദിവസം തന്നേ, വരുന്നു; ഇപ്പോള് അവരുടെ പരിഭ്രമം വന്നുഭവിക്കും.

4. The best of them is like a waste plant, and their upright ones are like a wall of thorns. Sorrow! the day of their fate has come; now will trouble come on them.

5. കൂട്ടുകാരനെ വിശ്വസിക്കരുതു; സ്നേഹിതനില് ആശ്രയിക്കരുതു; നിന്റെ മാര്വ്വിടത്തു ശയിക്കുന്നവളോടു പറയാതവണ്ണം നിന്റെ വായുടെ കതകു കാത്തുകൊള്ക.

5. Put no faith in a friend, do not let your hope be placed in a relation: keep watch on the doors of your mouth against her who is resting on your breast.

6. മകന് അപ്പനെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നു; മകള് അമ്മയോടും മരുമകള് അമ്മാവിയമ്മയോടും എതിര്ത്തുനിലക്കുന്നു; മനുഷ്യന്റെ ശത്രുക്കള് അവന്റെ വിട്ടുകാര് തന്നേ.

6. For the son puts shame on his father, the daughter goes against her mother and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man's haters are those of his family.

7. ഞാനോ യഹോവയിങ്കലേക്കു നോക്കും; എന്റെ രക്ഷയുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്നായി കാത്തിരിക്കും; എന്റെ ദൈവം എന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കേള്ക്കും.

7. But as for me, I am looking to the Lord; I am waiting for the God of my salvation: the ears of my God will be open to me.

8. എന്റെ ശത്രുവായവളേ, എന്നെച്ചൊല്ലി സന്തോഷിക്കരുതു; വീണു എങ്കിലും ഞാന് വീണ്ടും എഴുന്നേലക്കും; ഞാന് ഇരുട്ടത്തു ഇരുന്നാലും യഹോവ എനിക്കു വെളിച്ചമായിരിക്കുന്നു.

8. Do not be glad because of my sorrow, O my hater: after my fall I will be lifted up; when I am seated in the dark, the Lord will be a light to me.

9. യഹോവ എന്റെ വ്യവഹാരം നടത്തി എനിക്കു ന്യായം പാലിച്ചുതരുവോളം ഞാന് അവന്റെ ക്രോധം വഹിക്കും; ഞാന് അവനോടു പാപം ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ; അവന് എന്നെ വെളിച്ചത്തിലേക്കു പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കയും ഞാന് അവന്റെ നീതി കണ്ടു സന്തോഷിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

9. I will undergo the wrath of the Lord, because of my sin against him; till he takes up my cause and does what is right for me: when he makes me come out into the light, I will see his righteousness;

10. എന്റെ ശത്രു അതു കാണും; നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ എവിടെ എന്നു എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞവളെ ലജ്ജ മൂടും; എന്റെ കണ്ണു അവളെ കണ്ടു രസിക്കും; അന്നു അവളെ വീഥികളിലെ ചെളിപോലെ ചവിട്ടിക്കളയും.

10. And my hater will see it and be covered with shame; she who said to me, Where is the Lord your God? my eyes will see their desire effected on her, now she will be crushed under foot like the dust of the streets.

11. നിന്റെ മതിലുകള് പണിവാനുള്ള നാള്വരുന്നുഅന്നാളില് നിന്റെ അതിര് അകന്നുപോകും.

11. A day for building your walls! in that day will your limits be stretched far and wide.

12. അന്നാളില് അശ്ശൂരില്നിന്നും മിസ്രയീംപട്ടണങ്ങളില്നിന്നും മിസ്രയീം മുതല് നദിവരെയും സമുദ്രംമുതല് സമുദ്രംവരെയും പര്വ്വതംമുതല് പര്വ്വതംവരെയും അവര് നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരും.

12. In that day they will come to you from Assyria and the towns of Egypt, and from Egypt even to the River, and from sea to sea and from mountain to mountain.

13. എന്നാല് ഭൂമി നിവാസികള്നിമിത്തവും അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ഫലം ഹേതുവായും ശൂന്യമായ്തീരും.

13. But the land will become a waste because of its people, as the fruit of their works.

14. കര്മ്മേലിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ കാട്ടില് തനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതും നിന്റെ അവകാശവുമായി നിന്റെ ജനമായ ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടത്തെ നിന്റെ കോല്കൊണ്ടു മേയിക്കേണമേ; പുരാതനകാലത്തു എന്നപോലെ അവര് ബാശാനിലും ഗിലെയാദിലും മേഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കട്ടെ.

14. Keep your people safe with your rod, the flock of your heritage, living by themselves in the woods in the middle of Carmel: let them get their food in Bashan and Gilead as in the past.

15. നീ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ട കാലത്തെന്നപോലെ ഞാന് അവനെ അത്ഭുതങ്ങള് കാണിക്കും.

15. As in the days when you came out from the land of Egypt, let us see things of wonder.

16. ജാതികള് കണ്ടിട്ടു തങ്ങളുടെ സകലവീര്യത്തിലും ലജ്ജിക്കും; അവര് വായ്മേല് കൈ വെക്കയും ചെകിടരായ്തീരുകയും ചെയ്യും.

16. The nations will see and be shamed because of all their strength; they will put their hands on their mouths, their ears will be stopped.

17. അവര് പാമ്പുപോലെ പൊടിനക്കും; നിലത്തെ ഇഴജാതിപോലെ തങ്ങളുടെ ഗുഹകളില്നിന്നു വിറെച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു വരും; അവര് പേടിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കല് വരികയും നിന്നെ ഭയപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യും.

17. They will take dust as their food like a snake, like the things which go flat on the earth; they will come shaking with fear out of their secret places: they will come with fear to the Lord our God, full of fear because of you.

18. അകൃത്യം ക്ഷമിക്കയും തന്റെ അവകാശത്തില് ശേഷിപ്പുള്ളവരോടു അതിക്രമം മോചിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന നിന്നോടു സമനായ ദൈവം ആരുള്ളു? അവന് എന്നേക്കും കോപം വെച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നില്ല; ദയയിലല്ലോ അവന്നു പ്രസാദമുള്ളതു.

18. Who is a God like you, offering forgiveness for evil-doing and overlooking the sins of the rest of his heritage? he does not keep his wrath for ever, because his delight is in mercy.

19. അവന് നമ്മോടു വീണ്ടും കരുണ കാണിക്കും നമ്മുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങളെ ചവിട്ടിക്കളയും; അവരുടെ പാപങ്ങളെ ഒക്കെയും നീ സമുദ്രത്തിന്റെ ആഴത്തില് ഇട്ടുകളയും.

19. He will again have pity on us; he will put our sins under his feet: and you will send all our sins down into the heart of the sea.

20. പുരാതനകാലംമുതല് നീ ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു സത്യം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ വിശ്വസ്തത നീ യാക്കോബിനോടും നിന്റെ ദയ അബ്രാഹാമിനോടും കാണിക്കും.

20. You will make clear your good faith to Jacob and your mercy to Abraham, as you gave your oath to our fathers from times long past.
