10. Blessed are those who have been persecuted because of righteousness, because the kingdom of the heavens is theirs.

11. എന്റെ നിമിത്തം നിങ്ങളെ പഴിക്കയും ഉപദ്രവിക്കയും നിങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ടു എല്ലാ തിന്മയും കളവായി പറകയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോള് നിങ്ങള് ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാര്.

11. Blessed are ye when they revile you, and persecute you, and say every evil word, being deceitful against you because of me.

12. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, because your reward is great in the heavens, for so they persecuted the prophets before you.

13. നിങ്ങള് ഭൂമിയുടെ ഉപ്പാകുന്നു; ഉപ്പു കാരമില്ലാതെപോയാല് അതിന്നു എന്തൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു രസം വരുത്താം? പുറത്തു കളഞ്ഞിട്ടു മനുഷ്യര് ചവിട്ടുവാന് അല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നിന്നും പിന്നെ കൊള്ളുന്നതല്ല.

13. Ye are the salt material of the earth. But if the salt material becomes ineffective, by what will it be salted? It is potent for nothing further, except to be cast outside and to be trodden down by men.

14. Ye are the light of the world. A city setting on a hill cannot be hid,

15. വിളകൂ കത്തിച്ചുപറയിന് കീഴല്ല തണ്ടിന്മേലത്രെ വെക്കുന്നതു; അപ്പോള് അതു വീട്ടിലുള്ള എല്ലാവര്ക്കും പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നു.

15. nor do they light a lamp, and put it under the bushel, but on the lampstand, and it shines to all in the house.

16. അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ മനുഷ്യര് നിങ്ങളുടെ നല്ല പ്രവൃത്തികളെ കണ്ടു, സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിനെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ വെളിച്ചം അവരുടെ മുമ്പില് പ്രകാശിക്കട്ടെ.

16. Thus your light should shine before men, so that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in the heavens.

17. Think not that I came to abolish the law or the prophets. I came not to abolish, but to fulfill.

18. സത്യമായിട്ടു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നുആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുംവരെ സകലവും നിവൃത്തിയാകുവോളം ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തില്നിന്നു ഒരു വള്ളി എങ്കിലും പുള്ളി എങ്കിലും ഒരുനാളും ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകയില്ല.

18. For truly I say to you, until the heaven and the earth pass away, one iota or one tittle will, no, not pass away from the law, until all things come to pass.

19. ആകയാല് ഈ ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയ കല്പനകളില് ഒന്നു അഴിക്കയും മനുഷ്യരെ അങ്ങനെ പഠിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തില് ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയവന് എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും; അവയെ ആചരിക്കയും പഠിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നോ സ്വര്ഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തില് വലിയവന് എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും.

19. Whoever therefore may relax one of these least commandments, and may teach men so, he will be called least in the kingdom of the heavens. But whoever may do and may teach them, this man will be called great in the kingdom of the heavens.

20. നിങ്ങളുടെ നീതി ശാസ്ത്രീമാരുടെയും പരീശന്മാരുടെയും നീതിയെ കവിയുന്നില്ലെങ്കില് നിങ്ങള് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തില് കടക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

20. For I say to you, that unless your righteousness abounds more than of the scholars and Pharisees, ye will, no, not enter into the kingdom of the heavens.

21. കുല ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നു ആരെങ്കിലും കുല ചെയ്താല് ന്യായവിധിക്കു യോഗ്യനാകും എന്നും പൂര്വന്മാരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങള് കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

21. Ye have heard that it was said to them in old times, Thou shall not murder, and whoever murders will be liable to the judgment.

22. ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതുസഹോദരനോടു കോപിക്കുന്നവന് എല്ലാം ന്യായവിധിക്കു യോഗ്യനാകുംസഹോദരനോടു നിസ്സാര എന്നും പറഞ്ഞാല് ന്യായാധിപസഭയുടെ മുമ്പില് നില്ക്കേണ്ടി വരും; മൂഢാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാലോ അഗ്നി നരകത്തിനു യോഗ്യനാകും.

22. But I say to you, that every man who is angry at his brother without cause will be liable to the judgment, and whoever speaks an insult to his brother will be liable to the council, and whoever says, Foolish man, will be liable to the hell of fire.

23. ആകയാല് നിന്റെ വഴിപാടു യാഗപീഠത്തിങ്കല് കൊണ്ടുവരുമ്പോള് സഹോദരന്നു നിന്റെ നേരെ വല്ലതും ഉണ്ടെന്നു അവിടെവെച്ചു ഔര്മ്മവന്നാല്

23. If therefore thou should bring thy gift to the altar, and remember there that thy brother has anything against thee,

24. നിന്റെ വഴിപാടു അവിടെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പില് വെച്ചേച്ചു, ഒന്നാമതു ചെന്നു സഹോദരനോടു നിരന്നുകൊള്ക; പിന്നെ വന്നു നിന്റെ വഴിപാടു കഴിക്ക.

24. leave there thy gift before the altar, and go. First be reconciled to thy brother, and then, after coming, bring thy gift.

25. നിന്റെ പ്രതിയോഗിയോടുകൂടെ വഴിയില് ഉള്ളപ്പോള് തന്നേ വേഗത്തില് അവനോടു ഇണങ്ങിക്കൊള്ക; അല്ലാഞ്ഞാല് പ്രതിയോഗി നിന്നെ ന്യായാധിപന്നും ന്യായാധിപന് ചേവകന്നും ഏല്പിച്ചിട്ടു നീ തടവില് ആയ്പോകും.

25. Be agreeing with thine opponent quickly, while thou are with him on the way, lest the opponent deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the subordinate, and thou will be cast into prison.

26. ഒടുവിലത്തെ കാശുപോലും കൊടുത്തു തീരുവോളം നീ അവിടെനിന്നു പുറത്തു വരികയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു.

26. Truly I say to thee, thou will, no, not come out from there, until thou have paid the last quadran.

27. വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങള് കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

27. Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shall not commit adultery.

28. ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതുസ്ത്രീയെ മോഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവളെ നോക്കുന്നവന് എല്ലാം ഹൃദയംകൊണ്ടു അവളോടു വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്തുപോയി.

28. But I say to you, that every man who looks on a woman to crave her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

29. എന്നാല് വലങ്കണ്ണു നിനക്കു ഇടര്ച്ചവരുത്തുന്നു എങ്കില് അതിനെ ചൂന്നെടുത്തു എറിഞ്ഞുകളക; നിന്റെ ശരീരം മുഴുവനും നരകത്തില് പോകുന്നതിനെക്കാള് അവയവങ്ങളില് ഒന്നു നശിക്കുന്നതു നിനക്കു പ്രയോജനമത്രേ.

29. And if thy right eye causes thee to stumble, remove it and cast it from thee, for it is advantageous for thee that one of thy body-parts should perish, and not thy whole body be cast into hell.

30. വലങ്കൈ നിനക്കു ഇടര്ച്ചവരുത്തുന്നു എങ്കില് അതിനെ വെട്ടി എറിഞ്ഞുകളക; നിന്റെ ശരീരം മുഴുവനും നരകത്തില് പോകുന്നതിനെക്കാള് അവയവങ്ങളില് ഒന്നു നശിക്കുന്നതു നിനക്കു പ്രയോജനമത്രേ.

30. And if thy right hand causes thee to stumble, cut it off and cast it from thee, for it is advantageous for thee that one of thy body-parts should perish, and not thy whole body be cast into hell.

31. ആരെങ്കിലും ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചാല് അവള്ക്കു ഉപേക്ഷണപത്രം കൊടുക്കട്ടെ എന്നും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

31. And it was said, Whoever may divorce his wife, let him give her a divorce certificate.

32. ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതുപരസംഗം ഹേതുവായിട്ടല്ലാതെ ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവനെല്ലാം അവളെക്കൊണ്ടു വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യിക്കുന്നു; ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചവളെ ആരെങ്കിലും വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചാല് വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

32. But I say to you, that whoever may divorce his wife apart from a matter of fornication, disposes her to commit adultery, and whoever may marry her who has been divorced commits adultery.

33. കള്ളസത്യം ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നും സത്യം ചെയ്തതു കര്ത്താവിന്നു നിവര്ത്തിക്കേണം എന്നും പൂര്വന്മാരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങള് കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

37. നിങ്ങളുടെ വാക്കു ഉവ്വു, ഉവ്വു എന്നും ഇല്ല, ഇല്ല എന്നും ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ; ഇതില് അധികമായതു ദുഷ്ടനില്നിന്നു വരുന്നു.

37. But let your word be, Yes, yes, No, no. And anything beyond these is from evil.

38. കണ്ണിനു പകരം കണ്ണും പല്ലിന്നു പകരം പല്ലും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങള് കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

38. Ye have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.

39. But I say to you, not to resist what is troublesome, but whoever will strike thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

40. നിന്നോടു വ്യവഹരിച്ചു നിന്റെ വസ്ത്രം എടുപ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവനു നിന്റെ പുതപ്പും വിട്ടുകൊടുക്ക.

40. And to the man who wants to sue thee, and take away thy coat, thou shall leave him thy cloak also.

41. ഒരുത്തന് നിന്നെ ഒരു നാഴിക വഴി പോകുവാന് നിര്ബന്ധിച്ചാല് രണ്ടു അവനോടുകൂടെ പോക.

41. And whoever will draft thee for one mile, go thou with him two.

42. നിന്നോടു യാചിക്കുന്നവനു കൊടുക്ക; വായിപ്പവാങ്ങുവാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവനെ ഒഴിഞ്ഞുകളയരുതു.

42. Give to him who asks thee, and turn thou not away from him who wants to borrow from thee.

43. കൂട്ടുകാരനെ സ്നേഹിക്ക എന്നും ശത്രുവിനെ പകെക്ക എന്നും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങള് കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

43. Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shall love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy.

45. so that ye may become sons of your Father in the heavens, because he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and makes rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

46. നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവരെ സ്നേഹിച്ചാല് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു പ്രതിഫലം? ചുങ്കക്കാരും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലയോ?

46. For if ye love those who love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the tax collectors the same?

47. സഹോദരന്മാരെ മാത്രം വന്ദനം ചെയ്താല് നിങ്ങള് എന്തു വിശേഷം ചെയ്യുന്നു? ജാതികളും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലയോ?

47. And if ye only greet your friends, what do ye extra? Do not even the tax collectors this way?

48. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങളുടെ സ്വര്ഗ്ഗീയപിതാവു സല്ഗുണപൂര്ണ്ണന് ആയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളും സല്ഗുണപൂര്ണ്ണരാകുവിന് .”
