1. അവന് ഒരു സ്ഥലത്തു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; തീര്ന്നശേഷം ശിഷ്യന്മാരില് ഒരുത്തന് അവനോടുകര്ത്താവേ, യോഹന്നാന് തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ പഠിപ്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഞങ്ങളെയും പ്രാര്ത്ഥിപ്പാന് പഠിപ്പിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

1. THEN HE was praying in a certain place; and when He stopped, one of His disciples said to Him, Lord, teach us to pray, [just] as John taught his disciples.

2. അവന് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുനിങ്ങള് പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കുമ്പോള് ചൊല്ലേണ്ടിയതു(സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ ഞങ്ങളുടെ) പിതാവേ, നിന്റെ നാമം വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെടേണമേ; നിന്റെ രാജ്യം വരേണമേ; (നിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലെപ്പോലെ ഭൂമിയിലും ആകേണമേ;)

2. And He said to them, When you pray, say: Our Father Who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come. Your will be done [held holy and revered] on earth as it is in heaven.

3. ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു ആവശ്യമുള്ള ആഹാരം ദിനംപ്രതി തരേണമേ.

3. Give us daily our bread [food for the morrow].

4. ഞങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങളെ ഞങ്ങളോടു ക്ഷമിക്കേണമേ; ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു കടംപെട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ഏവനോടും ഞങ്ങളും ക്ഷമിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളെ പരീക്ഷയില് കടത്തരുതേ(ദുഷ്ടങ്കല്നിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ വിടുവിക്കേണമേ.)

4. 'And forgive us our sins, for also we ourselves forgive every [one] being indebted to us; and do not lead us into temptation,_but_ deliver us from evil [or, the evil [one]].''

5. പിന്നെ അവന് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുനിങ്ങളില് ആര്ക്കെങ്കിലും ഒരു സ്നേഹതിന് ഉണ്ടു എന്നിരിക്കട്ടെ; അവന് അര്ദ്ധരാത്രിക്കു അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നുസ്നേഹിതാ, എനിക്കു മൂന്നപ്പം വായ്പ തരേണം;

5. And He said to them, 'Which of you* will have a friend and will go to him at midnight and say to him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,

6. എന്റെ ഒരു സ്നേഹിതന് വഴിയാത്രയില് എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു; അവന്നു വിളമ്പിക്കൊടുപ്പാന് എന്റെ പക്കല് ഏതും ഇല്ല എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞാല്

6. since a friend came to me from a journey, and I do not have what I would set before him;'

7. എന്നെ പ്രയാസപ്പെടുത്തരുതു; കതകു അടെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; പൈതങ്ങളും എന്നോടുകൂടെ കിടക്കുന്നു; എഴുന്നേറ്റു തരുവാന് എനിക്കു കഴികയില്ല എന്നു അകത്തുനിന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞാലും

7. and that [one] answering from within shall say, 'Stop causing me troubles! The door has already been shut, and my young children are with me in bed. I am not able, having gotten up, to give to you.'

8. അവന് സ്നേഹിതാനാകകൊണ്ടു എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവന്നു കൊടുക്കയില്ലെങ്കിലും അവന് ലജ്ജകൂടാതെ മുട്ടിക്കനിമിത്തം എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവന്നു വേണ്ടുന്നെടത്തോളം കൊടുക്കും എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

8. 'I say to you*, even if he will not give to him, having gotten up, because of him being a friend, yet because of his shameless persistence, having gotten up, he will give to him as much as he needs.

9. യാചിപ്പിന് , എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കിട്ടും; അന്വേഷിപ്പിന് , എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് കണ്ടെത്തും; മുട്ടുവിന് എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തുറക്കും.

9. And_I_ say to you*, be asking, and it will be given to you*; be seeking, and you* will find; be knocking, and it will be opened to you*.

10. യാചിക്കുന്നവന്നു ഏവന്നും ലഭിക്കുന്നു; അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവന് കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു; മുട്ടുന്നവന്നു തുറക്കും എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

10. For every [one] asking receives, and the one seeking finds, and to the one knocking it will be opened.

11. എന്നാല് നിങ്ങളില് ഒരു അപ്പനോടു മകന് അപ്പം ചോദിച്ചാല് അവന്നു കല്ലു കൊടുക്കുമോ? അല്ല, മീന് ചോദിച്ചാല് മീനിന്നു പകരം പാമ്പിനെ കൊടുക്കുമോ?

11. Now which father [among] you*, [if] his son will ask [for] a loaf of bread, he will not give to him a stone, will he? Or also [if he asks for] a fish, he will not give to him a serpent instead of a fish, will he?

12. മുട്ട ചോദിച്ചാല് തേളിനെ കൊടുക്കുമോ?

12. Or also if he asks [for] an egg, he will not give to him a scorpion, will he?

13. അങ്ങനെ ദോഷികളായ നിങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കള്ക്കു നല്ല ദാനങ്ങളെ കൊടുപ്പാന് അറിയുന്നു എങ്കില് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ പിതാവു തന്നോടു യാചിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനെ എത്ര അധികം കൊടുക്കും.

13. If you* then being evil know [how] to be giving good gifts to your* children, how much more will the Father of heaven [fig., your* heavenly Father] give [the] Holy Spirit to the ones asking Him?'

14. ഒരിക്കല് അവന് ഊമയായോരു ഭൂതത്തെ പുറത്താക്കി. ഭൂതം വിട്ടുപോയശേഷം ഊമന് സംസാരിച്ചു, പുരുഷാരം ആശ്ചര്യപെട്ടു.

14. And He was casting out a demon, and it was mute. Then it happened, the demon having gone out, the mute [person] spoke, and the crowds marveled.

15. അവരില് ചിലരോഭൂതങ്ങളുടെ തലവനായ ബെയെത്സെബൂലെക്കൊണ്ടാകുന്നു അവന് ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. But some of them said, 'By Beelzebul [i.e. a Philistine deity, used as a name for the devil], ruler of the demons, He casts out demons.'

16. വേറെ ചിലര് അവനെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചു ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു ഒരടയാളം അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

16. But others, testing [Him], were seeking a sign from Him from heaven.

17. അവന് അവരുടെ വിചാരം അറിഞ്ഞു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുതന്നില്തന്നേ ഛിദ്രിച്ച രാജ്യം എല്ലാം പാഴായ്പോകും; വീടു ഔരോന്നും വീഴും.

17. But knowing their thoughts,_He_ said to them, 'Every kingdom having been divided against itself is laid waste, and a house [divided] against a house falls.

18. സാത്താനും തന്നോടു തന്നേ ഛിദ്രിച്ചു എങ്കില്, അവന്റെ രാജ്യം എങ്ങനെ നിലനിലക്കും? ബെയെത്സെബൂലെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാന് ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

18. So if Satan also was divided against himself, how will his kingdom be made to stand? Because you* say [that] I am casting out demons by Beelzebul.

19. ഞാന് ബെയെത്സെബൂലെക്കൊണ്ടു ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കള് ആരെക്കൊണ്ടു പുറത്താക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവര് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ന്യായാധിപതികള് ആകും.

19. But if_I_ cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your* sons [fig., disciples] cast [them] out? For this reason they will be your* judges.

20. എന്നാല് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ശക്തികൊണ്ടു ഞാന് ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് ദൈവരാജ്യം നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു സ്പഷ്ടം.

20. But if I cast out demons by the finger of God, in that case, the kingdom of God came upon you*.

21. ബലവാന് ആയുധം ധരിച്ചു തന്റെ അരമന കാക്കുമ്പോള് അവന്റെ വസ്തുവക ഉറപ്പോടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

21. 'When the strong [man] having been fully armed is guarding his own palace, his possessions are in peace [fig., undisturbed].

22. അവനിലും ബലവാനായവന് വന്നു അവനെ ജയിച്ചു എങ്കിലോ അവന് ആശ്രയിച്ചിരുന്ന സര്വ്വായുധവര്ഗ്ഗം പിടിച്ചുപറിച്ചു അവന്റെ കൊള്ള പകുതി ചെയ്യുന്നു.

22. But when the [one] stronger than he, having come upon [him], overcomes him, he takes away his complete suit of armor in which he had relied on, and he distributes his spoils.

23. എനിക്കു അനുകൂലമല്ലാത്തവന് എനിക്കു പ്രതിക്കുലം ആകുന്നു; എന്നോടുകൂടെ ചേര്ക്കാത്തവന് ചിതറിക്കുന്നു.

23. The [one] not with Me is against Me, and the [one] not gathering with Me scatters.

24. അശുദ്ധാത്മാവു ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ വിട്ടുപോയിട്ടു നീരില്ലാത്ത പ്രദേശങ്ങളില് തണുപ്പു തിരഞ്ഞുനടക്കുന്നു. കാണാഞ്ഞിട്ടുഞാന് വിട്ടുപോന്ന വീട്ടിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചെല്ലും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ചെന്നു,

24. When the unclean [or, defiling] spirit goes out from the person, it goes through waterless places seeking rest, and not finding [any], it says, 'I will return to my house from where I came out.'

25. അതു അടിച്ചുവാരിയും അലങ്കരിച്ചും കാണുന്നു.

25. And having come, it finds [it] having been swept and having been put in order.

26. അപ്പോള് അവന് പോയി തന്നിലും ദുഷ്ടത ഏറിയ ഏഴു ആത്മാക്കളെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു വരുന്നു; അവയും അതില് കടന്നു പാര്ത്തിട്ടു ആ മനുഷ്യന്റെ പിന്നത്തെ സ്ഥിതി മുമ്പിലത്തേതിനേക്കാള് വല്ലാതെയായി ഭവിക്കും.

26. Then it goes and takes along seven different spirits more evil [than] itself. And having come, they dwell there, and the last [state] of that person becomes worse [than] the first.'

27. ഇതു പറയുമ്പോള് പുരുഷാരത്തില് ഒരു സ്ത്രീ ഉച്ചത്തില് അവനോടുനിന്നെ ചുമന്ന ഉദരവും നീ കുടിച്ച മുലയും ഭാഗ്യമുള്ളവ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. Now it happened, while He [was] saying these [things], a certain woman from the crowd having raised [her] voice, said to Him, 'Happy [is] the womb, the one having carried You, and [the] breasts [from] which You nursed!'

28. അതിന്നു അവന് അല്ല, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വചനം കേട്ടു പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവര് അത്രേ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാര് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

28. But He said, 'But rather, happy [are] the ones hearing the word of God and keeping [fig., obeying] [it]!'

29. പുരുഷാരം തിങ്ങിക്കൂടിയപ്പോള് അവന് പറഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങിയതുഈ തലമുറ ദോഷമുള്ള തലമുറയാകുന്നു; അതു അടയാളം അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; യോനയുടെ അടയാളമല്ലാതെ അതിന്നു ഒരു അടയാളവും കൊടുക്കയില്ല.

29. Now [as] the crowds gathered even more, He began to be saying, 'This generation is evil. It seeks a sign, and a sign will not be given to it, except the sign of Jonah the prophet.

30. യോനാ നീനെവേക്കാര്ക്കും അടയാളം ആയതു പോലെ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് ഈ തലമുറെക്കും ആകും.

30. 'For just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so also will the Son of Humanity be to this generation. [Jonah 1:17]

31. തെക്കെ രാജ്ഞി ന്യായവിധിയില് ഈ തലമുറയിലെ ആളുകളോടു ഒന്നിച്ചു ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു അവരെ കുറ്റം വിധിക്കും; അവള് ശലോമോന്റെ ജ്ഞാനം കേള്പ്പാന് ഭൂമിയുടെ അറുതികളില്നിന്നു വന്നുവല്ലോ. ഇവിടെ ഇതാ, ശലോമോനിലും വലിയവന് .

31. [The] Queen of [the] South will be raised up in the judgment with the men of this generation and will condemn them, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon. And listen! [One] greater than Solomon [is] here!

32. നീനെവേക്കാര് ന്യായവിധിയില് ഈ തലമുറയോടു ഒന്നിച്ചു എഴുന്നേറ്റു അതിനെ കുറ്റം വിധിക്കും; അവര് യോനയുടെ പ്രസംഗം കേട്ടു മാനസാന്തരപ്പെട്ടുവല്ലോ. ഇവിടെ ഇതാ, യോനയിലും വലിയവന് .

32. Men, Ninevites, will rise up in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it, because they repented at [or, because of] the proclamation of Jonah. And listen! [One] greater than Jonah [is] here! [Jonah 3:5]

33. വിളകൂ കൊളുത്തീട്ടു ആരും നിലവറയിലോ പറയിന് കീഴിലോ വെക്കാതെ അകത്തു വരുന്നവര് വെളിച്ചം കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു തണ്ടിന്മേല് അത്രേ വെക്കുന്നതു.

33. But no one having lit a lamp puts [it] in a hidden place [or, a cellar] nor under the basket,_but_ on the lamp-stand, so that the one coming in shall be seeing the light.

34. ശരീരത്തിന്റെ വിളകൂ കണ്ണാകുന്നു; കണ്ണു ചൊവ്വുള്ളതെങ്കില് ശരീരം മുഴുവനും പ്രകാശിതമായിരിക്കും; ദോഷമുള്ളതാകിലോ ശരീരവും ഇരുട്ടുള്ളതു തന്നേ.

34. The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is healthy, your whole body is also full of light. But when it is bad, your body is also dark.

35. ആകയാല് നിന്നിലുള്ള വെളിച്ചം ഇരുളാകാതിരിപ്പാന് നോക്കുക.

35. Therefore, be watching out lest the light, the [one] in you, is darkness.

36. നിന്റെ ശരീരം അന്ധകാരമുള്ള അംശം ഒട്ടുമില്ലാതെ മുഴുവനും പ്രകാശിതമായിരുന്നാല് വിളകൂ തെളക്കംകൊണ്ടു നിന്നെ പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കുംപോലെ അശേഷം പ്രകാശിതമായിരിക്കും.

36. So if your whole body is full of light, not having any part darkened, the whole will be full of light, like when the lamp by its brightness shall be giving you light.'

37. അവന് സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോള് തന്നേ ഒരു പരീശന് തന്നോടുകൂടെ മുത്താഴം കഴിപ്പാന് അവനെ ക്ഷണിച്ചു; അവനും അകത്തു കടന്നു ഭക്ഷണത്തിന്നിരുന്നു.

37. Now while [He] [was] speaking, a certain Pharisee was asking Him that He should dine with him. So having entered, He reclined [to eat].

38. മുത്താഴത്തിന്നു മുമ്പേ കുളിച്ചില്ല എന്നു കണ്ടിട്ടു പരീശന് ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു.

38. But the Pharisee having seen, marveled that He was not first baptized [or, ceremonially washed] before the meal.

39. കര്ത്താവു അവനോടുപരീശന്മാരായ നിങ്ങള് കിണ്ടികിണ്ണങ്ങളുടെ പുറം വെടിപ്പാക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉള്ളിലോ കവര്ച്ചയും ദുഷ്ടതയും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

39. Then the Lord said to him, 'Now you*, the Pharisees, make the outside of the cup and of the wooden platter clean, but the inside of you* is full of violent greed and wickedness.

40. മൂഢന്മാരേ, പുറം ഉണ്ടാക്കിയവന് അല്ലയോ അകവും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയതു?

40. Fools! The One having made the outside also made the inside, did He not?

41. അകത്തുള്ളതു ഭിക്ഷയായി കൊടുപ്പിന് ; എന്നാല് സകലവും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ശുദ്ധം ആകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

41. Nevertheless, give the [things] being [or, what is] inside [as] charitable gifts. Then listen! All things are clean to you*.

42. പരീശന്മാരായ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങള് തുളസിയിലും അരൂതയിലും എല്ലാ ചീരയിലും പതാരം കൊടുക്കയും ന്യായവും ദൈവസ്നേഹവും വിട്ടുകളകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഇതു ചെയ്കയും അതു ത്യജിക്കാതിരിക്കയും വേണം.

42. _But_ how horrible it will be to you*, the Pharisees! Because you* tithe [i.e. give a tenth of] the mint and the rue [i.e. a scented herb] and every vegetable, and you* pass by [fig., overlook] the justice and the love of God. These [things] it is necessary to do, and those not to be neglecting.

43. പരീശന്മാരായ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങള്ക്കു പള്ളിയില് മുഖ്യാസനവും അങ്ങാടിയില് വന്ദനവും പ്രിയമാകുന്നു. നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം;

43. How horrible it will be to you*, the Pharisees! Because you* love the first seats [fig., most important places] in the synagogues and the greetings in the marketplaces.

44. നിങ്ങള് കാണ്മാന് കഴിയാത്ത കല്ലറകളെപ്പോലെ ആകുന്നു; അവയുടെ മീതെ നടക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യര് അറിയുന്നില്ല.

44. How horrible it will be to you*, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you* are like the unmarked tombs, and the people walking about above do not know [it].'

45. ന്യായശാസ്ത്രിമാരില് ഒരുത്തന് അവനോടുഗുരോ, ഇങ്ങനെ പറയുന്നതിനാല് നീ ഞങ്ങളെയും അപമാനിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

45. Then answering, one of the lawyers says to Him, 'Teacher, by saying these [things] You also insult us.'

46. അതിന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞതുന്യായശാസ്ത്രിമാരായ നിങ്ങള്ക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; എടുപ്പാന് പ്രയാസമുള്ള ചുമടുകളെ നിങ്ങള് മനുഷ്യരെക്കൊണ്ടു ചുമപ്പിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങള് ഒരു വിരല് കൊണ്ടുപോലും ആ ചുമടുകളെ തൊടുന്നില്ല.

46. But He said, 'How horrible it will be to you* also, the lawyers! Because you* burden the people with hard to carry [fig., difficult] burdens, and you* yourselves do not touch the burdens with one of your* fingers.

47. നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങള് പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ കല്ലറകളെ പണിയുന്നു; നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് അവരെ കൊന്നു.

47. 'How horrible it will be to you*! Because you* build the tombs of the prophets, but your* fathers killed them.

48. അതിനാല് നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികള്ക്കു നിങ്ങള് സാക്ഷികളായിരിക്കയും സമ്മതിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; അവര് അവരെ കൊന്നു; നിങ്ങള് അവരുടെ കല്ലറകളെ പണിയുന്നു.

48. Consequently, you* bear witness to and approve of the works of your* fathers, because_they_ indeed killed them, but you* build their tombs!

49. അതുകൊണ്ടു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ജ്ഞാനവും പറയുന്നതുഞാന് പ്രവാചകന്മാരെയും അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരെയും അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് അയക്കുന്നു; അവരില് ചിലരെ അവര് കൊല്ലുകയും ഉപദ്രവിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

49. For this reason the wisdom of God also said, I will send to them prophets and apostles, and [some] of them they will kill, and [some] they will persecute,

50. ഹാബേലിന്റെ രക്തം തുടങ്ങി യാഗപീഠത്തിന്നും ആലയത്തിന്നും നടുവില്വെച്ചു പട്ടുപോയ സെഖര്യാവിന്റെ രക്തം വരെ

50. so that the blood of all the prophets, the [blood] being shed from the laying of the foundation of the world, shall be charged against this generation,

51. ലോക സ്ഥാപനം മുതല് ചൊരിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന സകല പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെയും രക്തം ഈ തലമുറയോടു ചോദിപ്പാന് ഇടവരേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ. അതേ, ഈ തലമുറയോടു അതു ചോദിക്കും എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

51. from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zacharias, the one having perished between the altar and the house [of God]. Yes, I say to you*, it will be charged against this generation. [Gen 4:8; 2Chron 36:16]

52. ന്യായശാസ്ത്രിമാരായ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങള് പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെ താക്കോല് എടുത്തുകളഞ്ഞു; നിങ്ങള് തന്നേ കടന്നില്ല; കടക്കുന്നവരെ തടുത്തുംകളഞ്ഞു.

52. How horrible it will be to you*, the lawyers! For you took away the key of knowledge. You* yourselves did not enter, and you* hindered the ones entering in.'

53. അവന് അവിടംവിട്ടുപോകുമ്പോള് ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരും

53. Now while He [was] speaking these [things] to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to be terribly hostile towards [Him] and to be attacking Him with questions concerning many things,

54. അവനെ അത്യന്തം വിഷമിപ്പിപ്പാനും അവന്റെ വായില് നിന്നു വല്ലതും പിടിക്കാമോ എന്നു വെച്ചു അവന്നായി പതിയിരുന്നുകൊണ്ടു പലതിനെയും കുറിച്ചു കുടുകൂചോദ്യം ചോദിപ്പാനും തുടങ്ങി.

54. laying in wait for Him, seeking to catch something out of His mouth [fig., to catch Him in something He might say], so that they should bring charges against Him.
