1. അതിന്നിടെ പുരുഷാരം തമ്മില് ചവിട്ടുവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം ആയിരം ആയിരമായി തിങ്ങിക്കൂടിയപ്പോള് അവന് ആദ്യം ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു പറഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങിതുപരീശന്മാരുടെ പുളിച്ചമാവായ കപടഭക്തി സൂക്ഷിച്ചു കൊള്വിന് .

1. In ye meane tyme, whe ther were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people [insomuch] that they trode one another, he began to saye vnto his disciples. First of all, beware of the leuen of the pharisees, which is hypocrisie.

2. മൂടിവെച്ചതു ഒന്നും വെളിച്ചത്തു വരാതെയും ഗൂഢമായതു ഒന്നും അറിയാതെയും ഇരിക്കയില്ല.

2. For there is nothyng couered, that shall not be vncouered, neither hyd, that shall not be knowen.

3. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് ഇരുട്ടത്തു പറഞ്ഞതു എല്ലാം വെളിച്ചത്തു കേള്ക്കും; അറകളില് വെച്ചു ചെവിയില് മന്ത്രിച്ചതു പുരമുകളില് ഘോഷിക്കും.

3. Therfore, whatsoeuer you haue spoken in darkenesse, shalbe hearde in the light: and that which ye haue spoken in the eare, euen in secrete places, shalbe preached on the toppe of the houses.

4. എന്നാല് എന്റെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാരായ നിങ്ങളോടു ഞാന് പറയുന്നതുദേഹത്തെ കൊന്നിട്ടു പിന്നെ അധികമായി ഒന്നും ചെയ്വാന് കഴിയാത്തവരെ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ.

4. And I say vnto you my friendes, be not afrayde of them that kyll the body, and after that, haue no more that they can do.

5. ആരെ ഭയപ്പെടേണം എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കാണിച്ചുതരാം. കൊന്നിട്ടു നരകത്തില് തള്ളിക്കളവാന് അധികാരമുള്ളവനെ ഭയപ്പെടുവിന് അതേ, അവനെ ഭയപ്പെടുവിന് എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

5. But I wyll forewarne you who you shall feare: Feare hym, which after he hath killed, hath power to cast into hell, yea I say vnto you, feare hym.

6. രണ്ടു കാശിന്നു അഞ്ചു കുരികിലിനെ വിലക്കുന്നില്ലയോ? അവയില് ഒന്നിനെപ്പോലും ദൈവം മറന്നുപോകുന്നില്ല.

6. Are not fyue sparrowes bought for two farthynges? and not one of them is forgotten before God.

7. നിങ്ങളുടെ തലയിലെ മുടിപോലും എല്ലാം എണ്ണിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ആകയാല് ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; ഏറിയ കുരികിലിനെക്കാളും നിങ്ങള് വിശേഷതയുള്ളവര്.

7. Also, eue the very heeres of your head are all numbred. Feare not therfore, ye are more of value the many sparrowes.

8. മനുഷ്യരുടെ മുമ്പില് ആരെങ്കിലും എന്നെ ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞാല് അവനെ മനുഷ്യപുത്രനും ദൈവദൂതന്മാരുടെ മുമ്പാകെ ഏറ്റുപറയും.

8. Also I say vnto you, whosoeuer confesseth me before men, hym shall the sonne of man knowledge also, before the angels of God.

9. മനുഷ്യരുടെ മുമ്പില് എന്നെ തള്ളിപ്പറയുന്നവനെ ദൈവദൂതന്മാരുടെ മുമ്പില് തള്ളിപ്പറയും.

9. But he that denyeth me before men, shalbe denyed before the angels of God.

10. മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്റെ നേരെ ഒരു വാക്കു പറയുന്ന ഏവനോടും ക്ഷമിക്കും; പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിന്റെ നേരെ ദൂഷണം പറയുന്നവനോടോ ക്ഷമിക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

10. And whosoeuer speaketh a worde agaynst the sonne of man, it shalbe forgeuen hym: But vnto hym that blasphemeth the holy ghost, it shall not be forgeuen.

11. എന്നാല് നിങ്ങളെ പള്ളികള്ക്കും കോയ്മകള്ക്കും അധികാരങ്ങള്ക്കും മുമ്പില് കൊണ്ടുപോകുമ്പോള് എങ്ങനെയോ എന്തോ പ്രതിവാദിക്കേണ്ടു? എന്തു പറയേണ്ടു എന്നു വിചാരിപ്പെടേണ്ടാ;

11. And when they bryng you vnto the synagogues, and vnto the rulers and officers, take ye no thought, how or what thyng ye shall aunswere, or what ye shall speake.

12. പറയേണ്ടതു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു ആ നാഴികയില് തന്നേ നിങ്ങളെ പഠിപ്പിക്കും.

12. For the holy ghost shall teache you in the same houre what ye ought to say.

13. പുരുഷാരത്തില് ഒരുത്തന് അവനോടുഗുരോ, ഞാനുമായി അവകാശം പകുതിചെയ്വാന് എന്റെ സഹോദരനോടു കല്പിച്ചാലും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. One of the companie sayde vnto hym: Maister, speake to my brother, that he deuide the inheritauce with me.

14. അവനോടു അവന് മനുഷ്യാ, എന്നെ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ന്യായകര്ത്താവോ പങ്കിടുന്നവനോ ആക്കിയതു ആര് എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

14. And he sayde vnto hym: Man, who made me a iudge or a deuider ouer you?

15. പിന്നെ അവരോടുസകലദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹവും സൂക്ഷിച്ചു ഒഴിഞ്ഞുകൊള്വിന് ; ഒരുത്തന്നു സമൃദ്ധിഉണ്ടായാലും അവന്റെ വസ്തുവകയല്ല അവന്റെ ജീവന്നു ആധാരമായിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. And he sayde vnto them, Take heede & beware of couetousnes: For no mans lyfe standeth in the aboundaunce of the thynges which he possesseth.

16. ഒരുപമയും അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുധനവാനായോരു മനുഷ്യന്റെ ഭൂമി നന്നായി വിളഞ്ഞു.

16. And he put foorth a similitude vnto the, saying: The grounde of a certaine ryche man brought foorth plentifull fruites.

17. അപ്പോള് അവന് ഞാന് എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു? എന്റെ വിളവു കൂട്ടിവെപ്പാന് സ്ഥലം പോരാ എന്നു ഉള്ളില് വിചാരിച്ചു.

17. And he thought within him selfe, saying, What shall I do, because I haue no rowme where to bestow my fruites?

18. പിന്നെ അവന് പറഞ്ഞതുഞാന് ഇതു ചെയ്യും; എന്റെ കളപ്പുരകളെ പൊളിച്ചു അധികം വലിയവ പണിതു എന്റെ വിളവും വസ്തുവകയും എല്ലാം അതില് കൂട്ടിവേക്കും.

18. And he sayde, this wyll I do, I wyll destroy my barnes, and buylde greater, and therin wyll I gather all my fruites and my goodes.

19. എന്നിട്ടു എന്നോടുതന്നേ; നിനക്കു ഏറിയ ആണ്ടുകള്ക്കു മതിയായ അനവധി വസ്തുവക സ്വരൂപിച്ചുവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ആശ്വസിക്ക, തിന്നുക, കുടിക്ക, ആനന്ദിക്ക എന്നു പറയും. ദൈവമോ അവനോടു

19. And I wyll saye to my soule: Soule, thou hast much goods layed vp [in store] for many yeres, take thyne ease, eate, drynke, and be mery.

20. മൂഢാ, ഈ രാത്രിയില് നിന്റെ പ്രാണനെ നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കും. പിന്നെ നീ ഒരുക്കിവെച്ചതു ആര്ക്കാകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. But God sayde vnto hym: Thou foole, this nyght wyll they fetch awaye thy soule againe fro thee: Then whose shall those thynges be, which thou hast prouided?

21. ദൈവവിഷയമായി സമ്പന്നനാകാതെ തനിക്കു തന്നേ നിക്ഷേപിക്കുന്നവന്റെ കാര്യം ഇങ്ങനെ ആകുന്നു.

21. So is he that gathereth riches to him selfe, and is not ryche towardes God.

22. അവന് തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുആകയാല് എന്തു തിന്നും എന്നു ജീവന്നായിക്കൊണ്ടും എന്തു ഉടുക്കും എന്നു ശരീരത്തിന്നായിക്കൊണ്ടും വിചാരപ്പെടരുതു എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

22. And he spake vnto his disciples: Therfore I say vnto you, take no thought for your lyfe, what ye shall eate, neither for the body what ye shall put on.

23. ആഹാരത്തെക്കാള് ജീവനും ഉടുപ്പിനെക്കാള് ശരീരവും വലുതല്ലോ.

23. The lyfe is more then meate, and the body is more then rayment.

24. കാക്കയെ നോക്കുവിന് ; അതു വിതെക്കുന്നില്ല, കൊയ്യുന്നില്ല, അതിന്നു പാണ്ടികശാലയും കളപ്പുരയും ഇല്ല; എങ്കിലും ദൈവം അതിനെ പുലര്ത്തുന്നു. പറവജാതിയെക്കാള് നിങ്ങള് എത്ര വിശേഷമുള്ളവര്!
സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ 147:9

24. Consider the Rauens, for they neither sowe nor reape, whiche neither haue storehouse nor barne, and God feedeth them: Howe much more are ye better then [fethered] fowles?

25. പിന്നെ വിചാരപ്പെടുന്നതിനാല് തന്റെ നീളത്തില് ഒരു മുഴം കൂട്ടുവാന് നിങ്ങളില് ആര്ക്കും കഴിയും?

25. Which of you, with takyng thought, can adde to his stature one cubite?

26. ആകയാല് ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയതിന്നുപോലും നിങ്ങള് പോരാത്തവര് എങ്കില് ശേഷമുള്ളതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു വിചാരപ്പെടുന്നതു എന്തു? താമര എങ്ങനെ വളരുന്നു എന്നു വിചാരിപ്പിന് ; അവ അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്നില്ല നൂല്ക്കുന്നതുമില്ല; എന്നാല് ശലോമോന് പോലും തന്റെ സകല മഹത്വത്തിലും ഇവയില് ഒന്നിനോളം ചമഞ്ഞിരുന്നില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

26. If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least: why take ye thought for the remnaunt?

27. Consider the Lylies how they growe, they labour not, they spinne not: and yet I say vnto you, that Solomon in al his royaltie was not clothed lyke one of these.

28. എന്തു തിന്നും എന്തു കുടിക്കും എന്നു നിങ്ങള് ചിന്തിച്ചു ചഞ്ചലപ്പെടരുതു.

28. If God so clothe the grasse, whiche is to daye in the fielde, and to morowe is cast into the furnasse, howe much more wyll he clothe you, O ye of litle fayth?

29. ഈ വക ഒക്കെയും ലോകജാതികള് അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവോ ഇവ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ആവശ്യം എന്നു അറിയുന്നു.

29. And aske not ye what ye shall eate, or what ye shall drynke, neither be ye of doubtfull mynde:

30. അവന്റെ രാജ്യം അന്വേഷിപ്പിന് ; അതോടുകൂടെ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഇതും കിട്ടും.

30. For all suche thynges do the [Heathen] people of the worlde seke for: and your father knoweth that ye haue neede of these thynges.

31. ചെറിയ ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടമേ, ഭയപ്പെടരുതു; നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു രാജ്യം നിങ്ങള്ക്കു നലകുവാന് പ്രസാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

31. But rather seke ye after ye kyngdome of God, and all these thinges shalbe ministred vnto you.

32. നിങ്ങള്ക്കുള്ളതു വിറ്റു ഭിക്ഷകൊടുപ്പിന് ; കള്ളന് അടുക്കയോ പുഴു കെടുക്കയോ ചെയ്യാത്ത സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് പഴകിപ്പോകാത്ത മടിശ്ശീലകളും തീര്ന്നുപോകാത്ത നിക്ഷേപവും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഉണ്ടാക്കിക്കൊള്വിന് .

32. Feare not litle flocke, for it is your fathers pleasure to geue you a kyngdome.

33. നിങ്ങളുടെ നിക്ഷേപം ഉള്ളേടത്തു നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയവും ഇരിക്കും.

33. Sell that ye haue, and geue almes: and prepare you bagges whiche waxe not olde, euen a treasure that fayleth not in heauen, where no thiefe cometh, neither moth corrupteth.

34. നിങ്ങളുടെ അര കെട്ടിയും വിളകൂ കത്തിയും കൊണ്ടിരിക്കട്ടെ.

34. For where your treasure is, there wyl your hearte be also.

35. യജമാനന് കല്യാണത്തിന്നു പോയി വന്നു മുട്ടിയാല് ഉടനെ വാതില് തുറന്നുകൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന് എപ്പോള് മടങ്ങിവരും വന്നു കാത്തുനിലക്കുന്ന ആളുകളോടു നിങ്ങള് തുല്യരായിരിപ്പിന് .

35. Let your loynes be girde about, and your lyghtes brennyng,

36. യജമാനന് വരുന്നേരം ഉണര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നവരായി കാണുന്ന ദാസന്മാര് ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാര്; അവന് അര കെട്ടി അവരെ ഭക്ഷണത്തിന്നിരുത്തുകയും വന്നു അവര്ക്കും ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്കയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായി നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

36. And ye your selues like vnto men, that wayte for their Lorde, when he wyll returne from the weddyng, that when he commeth, and knocketh, they maye open vnto hym immediatly.

37. അവന് രണ്ടാം യാമത്തില് വന്നാലും മൂന്നാമതില് വന്നാലും അങ്ങനെ കണ്ടു എങ്കില് അവര് ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാര്.

37. Happy are those seruauntes, who the Lorde, when he commeth, shall fynde wakyng. Ueryly I say vnto you, that he shall girde him selfe, and make them to syt downe to meate, and wyll come foorth, and minister vnto them.

38. കള്ളന് ഇന്ന നാഴികെക്കു വരുന്നു എന്നു വിട്ടുടയവന് അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു എങ്കില് അവന് ഉണര്ന്നിരുന്നു തന്റെ വീടു തുരപ്പാന് സമ്മതിക്കയില്ല എന്നറിവിന് .

38. And yf he come in the seconde watche, yea if he come in the thirde watche, and fynde them so, happye are those seruauntes.

39. നിനയാത്ത നാഴികയില് മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് വരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളും ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിപ്പിന് .

39. This vnderstande, that yf the good man of the house knew what houre the thiefe woulde come, he woulde surely watche, and not suffer his house to be dygged through.

40. കര്ത്താവേ, ഈ ഉപമ പറയുന്നതു ഞങ്ങളോടോ എല്ലാവരോടും കൂടെയോ എന്നു പത്രൊസ് ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു കര്ത്താവു പറഞ്ഞതു

40. Be ye therfore redy also, for ye sonne of man wyll come at an houre when ye thynke not.

41. തക്കസമയത്തു ആഹാരവീതം കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യജമാനന് തന്റെ വേലക്കാരുടെ മേല് ആക്കുന്ന വിശ്വസ്തനും ബുദ്ധിമാനുമായ ഗൃഹവിചാരകന് ആര്?

41. Then Peter saide vnto him: Maister, tellest thou this similitude vnto vs, or to all [men?]

42. യജമാനന് വരുമ്പോള് അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തുകാണുന്ന ദാസന് ഭാഗ്യവാന് .

42. And the Lorde saide: Who is a faythfull and wyse stewarde, whom his lorde shall make ruler ouer his housholde, to geue them their portion of meate in due season?

43. അവന് തനിക്കുള്ള സകലത്തിന്നും അവനെ വിചാരകനാക്കിവേക്കും എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

43. Happye is that seruaunt, whom his lorde when he commeth, shall fynde so doyng.

44. എന്നാല് ദാസന് യജമാനന് താമസിച്ചേ വരികയുള്ളു എന്നു ഹൃദയത്തില് പറഞ്ഞു ബാല്യക്കാരെയും ബാല്യക്കാരത്തികളെയും തല്ലുവാനും തിന്നു കുടിച്ചു മദിപ്പാനും തുടങ്ങിയാന് ,

44. Of a trueth I saye vnto you, that he wyll make hym ruler ouer all that he hath.

45. അവന് നോക്കിയിരിക്കാത്ത നാളിലും അറിയാത്ത നാഴികയിലും ആ ദാസന്റെ യജമാനന് വന്നു അവനെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിക്കയും അവന്നു അവിശ്വാസികളോടുകൂടെ പങ്കു കല്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

45. But & yf that seruaut say in his heart, my lorde wyll deferre his commyng, and shall begyn to smyte the seruauntes and maydens, and to eate and drynke, and to be dronken,

46. യജമാനന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഒരുങ്ങാതെയും അവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം ചെയ്യാതെയുമിരിക്കുന്ന ദാസന്നു വളരെ അടികൊള്ളും.

46. The Lord of that seruaunt wyll come in a day when he thynketh not, and at an houre when he is not ware, and wyll hewe hym in peeces, and geue hym his portion with the vnbeleuers.

47. അറിയാതെകണ്ടു അടിക്കു യോഗ്യമായതു ചെയ്തവന്നോ കുറയ അടി കൊള്ളും; വളരെ ലഭിച്ചവനോടു വളരെ ആവശ്യപ്പെടും; അധികം ഏറ്റുവാങ്ങിയവനോടു അധികം ചോദിക്കും.

47. And the seruaunt that knewe his maisters wyll, and prepared not hym selfe, neither dyd accordyng to his wyll, shalbe beaten with many strypes.

48. ഭൂമിയില് തീ ഇടുവാന് ഞാന് വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു ഇപ്പോഴേ കത്തിയെങ്കില് കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു എന്നല്ലാതെ ഞാന് മറ്റെന്തു ഇച്ഛിക്കേണ്ടു?

48. But he that knewe not, and did comit thynges worthy of strypes, shalbe beaten with fewe strypes. For vnto whosoeuer much is geuen, of him shalbe much required: and to whom men haue committed much, of hym wyl they aske the more.

49. എങ്കിലും എനിക്കു ഒരു സ്നാനം ഏല്പാന് ഉണ്ടു; അതു കഴിയുവോളം ഞാന് എത്ര ഞെരുങ്ങുന്നു.

49. I am come to sende fire on ye earth, and what is my desire, but that it be alredye kindled?

50. ഭൂമിയില് സമാധാനം നലകുവാന് ഞാന് വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു തോന്നുന്നുവോ? അല്ലല്ല, ഛിദ്രം വരുത്തുവാന് അത്രേ എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

50. Notwithstandyng, I must be baptized with a baptisme, and howe am I payned tyll it be ended?

51. ഇനിമേല് ഒരു വീട്ടില് ഇരുവരോടു മൂവരും മൂവരോടു ഇരുവരും ഇങ്ങനെ അഞ്ചുപേര് തമ്മില് ഛിദ്രിച്ചിരിക്കും.

51. Suppose ye that I am come to sende peace on earth? I tell you naye, but rather deuision.

52. അപ്പന് മകനോടും മകന് അപ്പനോടും അമ്മ മകളോടും മകള് അമ്മയോടും അമ്മാവിയമ്മ മരുമകളോടും മരുമകള് അമ്മാവിയമ്മയോടും ഛിദ്രിച്ചിരിക്കും.

52. For fro hencefoorth there shalbe fyue in one house deuided, three against two, and two against three.

53. പിന്നെ അവന് പുരുഷാരത്തോടു പറഞ്ഞതുപടിഞ്ഞാറുനിന്നു മേഘം പൊങ്ങുന്നതു കാണുമ്പോള് പെരുമഴ വരുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് ഉടനെ പറയുന്നു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

53. The father shalbe deuided against the sonne, and the sonne against the father: The mother agaynst the daughter, and the daughter agaynst the mother: The mother in lawe against her daughter in lawe, and the daughter in lawe against her mother in lawe.

54. തെക്കന് കാറ്റു ഊതുന്നതു കണ്ടാലോ അത്യുഷ്ണം ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു പറയുന്നു; അതു സംഭവിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

54. He sayde also to the people: When ye see a cloude rise out of the west, straightway ye say there cometh a showre, and so it is.

55. കപടഭകതിക്കാരേ, ഭൂമിയുടെയും ആകാശത്തിന്റെയും ഭാവത്തെ വിവേചിപ്പാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അറിയാം;

55. And whe ye see the south wynd blow, ye say it wyll be hotte, and it commeth to passe.

56. എന്നാല് ഈ കാലത്തെ വിവേചിപ്പാന് അറിയാത്തതു എങ്ങനെ? ന്യായമായതു എന്തെന്നു നിങ്ങള് സ്വയമായി വിധിക്കാത്തതും എന്തു?

56. Ye hypocrites, ye can discerne the outwarde appearaunce of the skye, and of the earth: but howe is it that ye cannot discerne this tyme?

57. പ്രതിയോഗിയോടുകൂടെ അധികാരിയുടെ അടുക്കല് പോകുമ്പോള് വഴിയില്വെച്ചു അവനോടു നിരന്നുകൊള്വാന് ശ്രമിക്ക; അല്ലാഞ്ഞാല് അവന് നിന്നെ ന്യായാധിപന്റെ മുമ്പില് ഇഴെച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പോകയും ന്യായാധിപന് നിന്നെ കോല്ക്കാരന്റെ പക്കല് ഏല്പിക്കയും കോല്ക്കാരന് തടവില് ആക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.

58. ഒടുക്കത്തെ കാശുപോലും കൊടുത്തുതീരുവോളം നീ അവിടെ നിന്നു പുറത്തു വരികയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു.

58. When thou goest with thine aduersarie to the ruler, as thou art in the waye, geue diligence that thou mayest be deliuered from hym, lest he bryng thee to the iudge, and the iudge deliuer thee to the iayler, and the iayler caste thee into prison.
