1. ആ ദിവസങ്ങളില് ഒന്നില് അവന് ദൈവാലയത്തില് ജനത്തോടു ഉപദേശിച്ചു സുവിശേഷം അറിയിക്കുമ്പോള് മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരുമായി അടുത്തു വന്നു അവനോടു

1. And it came to passe, that on one of those dayes, as he taught ye people in the temple, & preached the Gospell, the hie priestes and the scribes came vpo hym, with the elders.

2. നീ എന്തു അധികാരംകൊണ്ടു ഇതു ചെയ്യുന്നു? ഈ അധികാരം നിനക്കു തന്നതു ആര്? ഞങ്ങളോടു പറക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

2. And spake vnto him, saying: Tell vs by what aucthoritie doest thou these thynges? Eyther who is he that gaue thee this aucthoritie?

3. അതിന്നു ഉത്തരമായി അവന് ഞാനും നിങ്ങളോടു ഒരു വാക്കു ചോദിക്കും; അതു എന്നോടു പറവിന് .

3. Iesus aunswered, & sayde vnto them: I also wyll aske you one thyng, & aunswere me.

4. യോഹന്നാന്റെ സ്നാനം സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നോ മനുഷ്യരില്നിന്നോ ഉണ്ടായതു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

4. The baptisme of Iohn, was it from heauen, or of men?

5. അവര് തമ്മില് നിരൂപിച്ചുസ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് നിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല് പിന്നെ നിങ്ങള് അവനെ വിശ്വസിക്കാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു എന്നു അവന് ചോദിക്കും.

5. And they reasoned within the selues, saying, Yf we say from heauen, he wyll say, why then beleued ye hym not?

6. മനുഷ്യരില്നിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാലോ ജനം ഒക്കെയും യോഹന്നാന് ഒരു പ്രവാചകന് എന്നു ഉറെച്ചിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു നമ്മെ കല്ലെറിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു

6. But and yf we say of men, all the people wyll stone vs: For they be perswaded that Iohn is a prophete.

7. എവിടെനിന്നോ ഞങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

7. And they aunswered, that they coulde not tell whence it was.

8. യേശു അവരോടുഎന്നാല് ഞാന് ഇതു ചെയ്യുന്നതു ഇന്ന അധികാരം കൊണ്ടാകുന്നു എന്നുള്ളതു ഞാനും നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

8. And Iesus saide vnto them: Neither tell I you by what aucthoritie I do these thynges.

9. അനന്തരം അവന് ജനത്തോടു ഉപമ പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് ഒരു മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം നട്ടുണ്ടാക്കി കുടിയാന്മാരെ പാട്ടത്തിന്നു ഏല്പിച്ചിട്ടു ഏറിയ കാലം പരദേശത്തു പോയി പാര്ത്തു.

9. Then began he to put foorth to the people this parable. A certayne man planted a vineyarde, and let it foorth to husbande men, and went hym selfe into a straunge countrey for a great season.

10. സമയമായപ്പോള് കുടിയാന്മാരോടു തോട്ടത്തിന്റെ അനുഭവം വാങ്ങേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് ഒരു ദാസനെ അയച്ചു; അവനെ കുടിയാന്മാര് തല്ലി വെറുതെ അയച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

10. And when the time was come, he sent a seruaunt to the husbande men, that they shoulde geue hym of the fruite of the vineyarde. And they beat hym, and sent hym away emptie.

11. അവന് മറ്റൊരു ദാസനെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു; അവനെയും അവര് തല്ലി അപമാനിച്ചു വെറുതെ അയച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

11. And agayne, he sent yet another seruaunt: and hym they did beate, and entreated hym shamefully, and sent hym away emptie.

12. അവന് മൂന്നാമതു ഒരുത്തനെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു; അവര് അവനെയും മുറിവേല്പിച്ചു പുറത്താക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

12. Agayne, he sent the thirde also: and hym they wounded, and cast hym out.

13. അപ്പോള് മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഉടമസ്ഥന് ഞാന് എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു? എന്റെ പ്രിയ പുത്രനെ അയക്കും; പക്ഷേ അവര് അവനെ ശങ്കിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. Then said the Lord of the vineyarde: What shal I do? I wyl send my deare sonne, it may be they wyll reuerence hym, when they see hym.

14. കുടിയാന്മാര് അവനെ കണ്ടിട്ടുഇവന് അവകാശി; അവകാശം നമുക്കു ആകേണ്ടതിന്നു നാം അവനെ കൊന്നുകളക എന്നു തമ്മില് ആലോചിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

14. But when the husbande men sawe him, they reasoned within them selues, saying: This is the heyre, come, let vs kyll hym, that the inheritaunce may be ours.

15. അവര് അവനെ തോട്ടത്തില് നിന്നു പുറത്താക്കി കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു. എന്നാല് തോട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഉടമസ്ഥന് അവരോടു എന്തു ചെയ്യും?

15. And they cast him out of the vineyard, and kylled hym. What shall the Lorde of the vineyarde therfore do vnto them?

16. അവന് വന്നു ആ കുടിയാന്മാരെ നിഗ്രഹിച്ചു തോട്ടം അന്യന്മാര്ക്കും ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും. അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു അവര് അങ്ങനെ ഒരുനാളും സംഭവിക്കയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

16. He shall come and destroye these husbande men, & shall let out his vineyarde to other. When they hearde this, they sayde, God forbyd.

17. അവനോ അവരെ നോക്കി“എന്നാല് വീടുപണിയുന്നവര് തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞ കല്ലു മൂലക്കല്ലായിത്തീര്ന്നു” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?
സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ 118:22-23

17. And he behelde them, & sayde: What is this then that is written, The stone that the buylders refused, the same is become the head of the corner.

18. ആ കല്ലിന്മേല് വീഴുന്ന ഏവനും തകര്ന്നുപോകും; അതു ആരുടെ മേല് എങ്കിലും വീണാല് അവനെ ധൂളിപ്പിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

18. Whosoeuer doth stumble vppon that stone, shalbe broken: but on whosoeuer it falleth, it wyll grinde hym to powder.

19. ഈ ഉപമ തങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ഗ്രഹിച്ചിട്ടു ആ നാഴികയില് തന്നേ അവന്റെ മേല് കൈവെപ്പാന് നോക്കി എങ്കിലും ജനത്തെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു.

19. And the hye priestes & the scribes, the same houre went about to laye handes on hym: and they feared the people. For they perceaued that he had spoken this similitude agaynst them.

20. പിന്നെ അവര് അവനെ നാടുവാഴിയുടെ അധീനതയിലും അധികാരത്തിലും ഏല്പിപ്പാന്തക്കവണ്ണം അവനെ വാക്കില് പിടിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തക്കം നോക്കി നീതിമാന്മാര് എന്നു നടിക്കുന്ന ഒറ്റുകാരെ അയച്ചു.

20. And they watched hym, & sent foorth spyes, which shoulde fayne them selues ryghteous men, to take hym in his wordes, and to delyuer hym vnto the power and aucthoritie of the deputie.

21. അവര് അവനോടുഗുരോ, നീ നേര് പറഞ്ഞു ഉപദേശിക്കയും മുഖപക്ഷം നോക്കാതെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വഴി യഥാര്ത്ഥമായി പഠിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നു.

21. And they asked him, saying: Maister, we knowe that thou sayest and teachest ryght, neither considerest thou the outwarde appearaunce of any man, but teachest the way of God truely:

22. നാം കൈസര്ക്കും കരം കൊടുക്കുന്നതു വിഹിതമോ അല്ലയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

22. Is is lawfull for vs to geue tribute vnto Caesar, or no?

23. അവരുടെ ഉപായം ഗ്രഹിച്ചിട്ടു അവന് അവരോടുഒരു വെള്ളിക്കാശ് കാണിപ്പിന് ;

23. He perceaued their craftynesse, & saide vnto them: why tempt ye me?

24. അതിനുള്ള സ്വരൂപവും മേലെഴുത്തും ആരുടേതു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുകൈസരുടേതു എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

24. Shewe me a penie, whose image and superscription hath it? They aunswered and sayde, Caesars.

25. എന്നാല് കൈസര്ക്കുംള്ളതു കൈസര്ക്കും ദൈവത്തിന്നുള്ളതു ദൈവത്തിന്നും കൊടുപ്പിന് എന്നു അവന് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

25. And he sayde vnto them: Geue then vnto Caesar, the thynges which belong vnto Caesar, and to God the thynges that perteyne vnto God.

26. അങ്ങനെ അവര് ജനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പില് വെച്ചു അവനെ വാക്കില് പിടിപ്പാന് കഴിയാതെ അവന്റെ ഉത്തരത്തില് ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു മിണ്ടാതിരുന്നു.

26. And they coulde not reproue his saying before the people: and they marueyled at his aunswere, & helde their peace.

27. പുനരുത്ഥാനം ഇല്ല എന്നു പറയുന്ന സദൂക്യരില് ചിലര് അടുത്തു വന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചതു

27. Then came to hym certayne of the saducees, which denie that there is any resurrection, and they asked hym,

28. ഗുരോ, ഒരുത്തന്റെ സഹോദരന് വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചിട്ടു മക്കളില്ലാതെ മരിച്ചുപോയാല് അവന്റെ സഹോദരന് അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു സഹോദരന്നു സന്തതിയെ ജനിപ്പിക്കേണം എന്നു മോശെ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

28. Saying: Maister, Moyses wrote vnto vs, yf any mans brother dye, hauyng a wyfe, and he dye without chyldren: that then his brother shoulde take his wyfe, & rayse vp seede vnto his brother.

29. എന്നാല് ഏഴു സഹോദരന്മാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവരില് ഒന്നാമത്തവന് ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെ വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചു മക്കളില്ലാതെ മരിച്ചുപോയി.

29. There were therfore seuen brethren, and the first toke a wyfe, & dyed without chyldren.

30. രണ്ടാമത്തവനും മൂന്നാമത്തവനും അവളെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

30. And the seconde toke her, and he dyed chyldlesse.

31. അവ്വണ്ണം ഏഴുപേരും ചെയ്തു മക്കളില്ലാതെ മരിച്ചുപോയി.

31. And the thirde toke her, & in lykewise the residue of the seuen, and left no chyldren behynde them, and dyed.

32. ഒടുവില് സ്ത്രീയും മരിച്ചു.

32. Last of all, the woman dyed also.

33. എന്നാല് പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തില് അവള് അവരില് ഏവന്നു ഭാര്യയാകും? ഏഴുവര്ക്കും ഭാര്യയായിരുന്നുവല്ലോ.

33. Nowe in the resurrection, whose wife of them shall she be? For seuen had her to wyfe.

34. അതിന്നു യേശു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതുഈ ലോകത്തിന്റെ മക്കള് വിവാഹം കഴിക്കയും വിവാഹത്തിന്നു കൊടുക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

34. Iesus aunswered and saide vnto the: The chyldren of this worlde marrye wyues, and are marryed:

35. എങ്കിലും ആ ലോകത്തിന്നും മരിച്ചവരില് നിന്നുള്ള പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തിന്നും യോഗ്യരായവര് വിവാഹം കഴിയക്കയുമില്ല വിവാഹത്തിന്നു കൊടുക്കപ്പെടുകയുമില്ല; അവര്ക്കും ഇനി മരിപ്പാനും കഴികയില്ല.

35. But they which shalbe counted worthy to enioy that worlde, and the resurrection from the dead, do not marrye wyues, neither are marryed,

36. അവന് പുനരുത്ഥാനപുത്രന്മാരാകയാല് ദൈവദൂതതുല്യരും ദൈവ പുത്രന്മാരും ആകുന്നു.

36. Nor yet can dye any more: For they are equall vnto the angels, and are the sonnes of God, inasmuche as they are chyldren of the resurrection.

37. മരിച്ചവര് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേലക്കുന്നു എന്നതോ മോശെയും മുള്പ്പടര്പ്പുഭാഗത്തു കര്ത്താവിനെ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവവും യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ദൈവവും യാക്കോബിന്റെ ദൈവവും എന്നു പറയുന്നതിനാല് സൂചിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

37. And that the dead shall ryse agayne, Moyses also sheweth besides the bushe, when he calleth the Lorde the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, & the God of Iacob.

38. ദൈവമോ മരിച്ചവരുടെ ദൈവമല്ല, ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ ദൈവമത്രേ; എല്ലാവരും അവന്നു ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

38. For he is not a God of dead, but of lyuyng: For all lyue vnto hym.

39. അതിന്നു ചില ശാസ്ത്രിമാര്ഗുരോ, നീ പറഞ്ഞതു ശരി എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

39. Then certayne of the pharisees aunswered, and sayde? Maister, thou hast well sayde.

40. പിന്നെ അവനോടു ഒന്നും ചോദിപ്പാന് അവര് തുനിഞ്ഞതുമില്ല.

40. And after that, durst they not aske him any question at all.

41. എന്നാല് അവന് അവരോടുക്രിസ്തു ദാവീദിന്റെ പുത്രന് എന്നു പറയുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?

41. And he sayde vnto them: Howe saye they that Christe is Dauids sonne:

42. “കര്ത്താവു എന്റെ കര്ത്താവിനോടുഞാന് നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ നിന്റെ പാദ പീഠമാക്കുവോളം എന്റെ വലത്തുഭാഗത്തിരിക്ക എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു”

42. And Dauid hym selfe sayeth in the booke of the psalmes: The Lord saide to my Lord, syt thou on my right hand,

43. എന്നു സങ്കീര്ത്തനപുസ്തകത്തില് ദാവീദ് തന്നേ പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

43. Tyll I make thine enemies thy footestoole?

44. ദാവീദ് അവനെ കര്ത്താവു എന്നു വിളിക്കുന്നു; പിന്നെ അവന്റെ പുത്രന് ആകുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

44. Dauid therfore calleth hym Lorde, & howe is he then his sonne?

45. എന്നാല് ജനം ഒക്കെയും കേള്ക്കെ അവന് തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു

45. Then in the audience of all the people, he saide vnto his disciples.

46. നിലയങ്കികളോടെ നടപ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കയും അങ്ങാടിയില് വന്ദനവും പള്ളിയില് മുഖ്യാസനവും അത്താഴത്തില് പ്രധാനസ്ഥലവും പ്രിയപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ശാസ്ത്രിമാരെ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് .

46. Beware of the scribes, whiche wyll go in long robes, and loue greetinges in the markets, and the hyest seates in the synagogues, and the chiefe rowmes at feastes:

47. അവര് വിധവമാരുടെ വീടുകളെ വിഴുങ്ങുകയും ഉപായരൂപേണ ദീര്ഘമായി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; അവര്ക്കും ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ശിക്ഷാവിധിവരും.

47. Which deuour widowes howses vnder colour of longe prayers: The same shall receaue greater dampnation.
