1. അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയിലെ സഭയില് ബര്ന്നബാസ്, നീഗര് എന്നു പേരുള്ള ശിമോന് , കുറേനക്കാരനായ ലൂക്യൊസ്, ഇട പ്രഭുവമായ ഹെരോദാവോടുകൂടെ വളര്ന്ന മനായേന് , ശൌല് എന്നീ പ്രവാചകന്മാരും ഉപദേഷ്ടാക്കന്മാരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

1. And in Antioch some among the existing church were prophets and teachers. (such as Barnabas, and Simeon who was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, the foster-brother of Herod the tetrarch) and Saul.

2. അവര് കര്ത്താവിനെ ആരാധിച്ചും ഉപവസിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള്ഞാന് ബര്ന്നബാസിനെയും ശെഘിനെയും വിളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന വേലെക്കായിട്ടു അവരെ എനിക്കു വേര്തിരിപ്പിന് എന്നു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു പറഞ്ഞു.

2. As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, So, then, separate Barnabas and Saul to Me for the work to which I have called them.

3. അങ്ങനെ അവര് ഉപവസിച്ചു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു അവരുടെ മേല് കൈവെച്ചു അവരെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു.

3. Then having fasted and prayed and laid hands on them, they let them go.

4. Then these indeed sent out by the Holy Spirit went down to Seleucia. And from there they sailed to Cyprus.

5. സലമീസില് ചെന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ പള്ളിയില് ദൈവവചനം അറിയിച്ചു. യോഹന്നാന് അവര്ക്കും ഭൃത്യനായിട്ടു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

5. And when they were at Salamis, they announced the Word of God in the synagogues of the Jews. And they also had John as an assistant.

6. അവര് ദ്വീപില്കൂടി പാഫൊസ്വരെ ചെന്നപ്പോള് ബര്യേശു എന്നു പേരുള്ള യെഹൂദനായി കള്ള പ്രവാചകനായോരു വിദ്വാനെ കണ്ടു.

6. And when they had gone through the island to Paphos, they found a certain conjurer, a false prophet, a Jew whose name was Bar-jesus;

7. അവന് ബുദ്ധിമാനായ സെര്ഗ്ഗ്യൊസ് പൌലൊസ് എന്ന ദേശാധിപതിയോടു കൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു; അവര് ബര്ന്നബാസിനെയും ശൌലിനെയും വരുത്തി ദൈവവചനം കേള്പ്പാന് ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

7. who was with the proconsul of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man. He called for Barnabas and Saul and asked to hear the Word of God.

8. But Elymas the conjurer (for so his name is, if translated) withstood them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith.

9. Then Saul (who is also Paul), filled with the Holy Spirit, set his eyes on him

10. and said, O son of the Devil, full of all deceit and all craftiness, enemy of all righteousness, will you not stop perverting the right ways of the Lord?

11. And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is on you. And you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a while. And immediately a mist and a darkness fell on him, and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.

12. Then, seeing the thing happening, the proconsul believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.

13. പൌലൊസും കൂടെയുള്ളവരും പാഫൊസില്നിന്നു കപ്പല് നീക്കി, പംഫുല്യാദേശത്തിലെ പെര്ഗ്ഗെക്കു ചെന്നു. അവിടെവെച്ചു യോഹന്നാന് അവരെ വിട്ടുപിരിഞ്ഞു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

13. And Paul and those around him sailed from Paphos and came to Perga of Pamphylia. And John left them and returned to Jerusalem.

14. അവരോ പെര്ഗ്ഗയില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു പിസിദ്യാദേശത്തിലെ അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയില് എത്തി ശബ്ബത്ത് നാളില് പള്ളിയില് ചെന്നു ഇരുന്നു.

14. But going through from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day and sat down.

15. ന്യായ പ്രമാണവും പ്രവാചകങ്ങളും വായിച്ചുതീര്ന്നപ്പോള് പള്ളിപ്രമാണികള് അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് ആളയച്ചുസഹോദരന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങകൂ ജനത്തോടു പ്രബോധനം വല്ലതും ഉണ്ടെങ്കില് പറവിന് എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

15. And after the reading of the Law and the Prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, Men, brothers, if you have any word of comfort for the people, speak.

16. And rising up and signaling with his hand, Paul said, Men, Israelites, and those fearing God, listen.

21. And afterward they asked for a king. And God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years.

28. And finding not one cause of death in Him, they begged Pilate to do away with Him.

29. And when they had fulfilled all that was written concerning Him, taking Him down from the tree, they laid Him in a tomb.

30. ദൈവമോ അവനെ മരിച്ചവരില് നിന്നു ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു;

30. But God raised Him from the dead,

39. And by Him all who believe are justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the Law of Moses.

40. “ഹേ നിന്ദക്കാരേ, നോക്കുവിന് ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു നശിച്ചുപോകുവിന് . നിങ്ങളുടെ കാലത്തു ഞാന് ഒരു പ്രവൃത്തി ചെയ്യുന്നു; നിങ്ങളോടു വിവരിച്ചാല് നിങ്ങള് വിശ്വസിക്കാത്ത പ്രവൃത്തി തന്നേ”

40. Therefore beware lest that come on you which is spoken of in the Prophets:

41. 'Behold, you despisers, and marvel, and perish; for I work a work in your days, a work which you shall in no way believe, though a man declare it to you.'

42. അവര് പള്ളിവിട്ടു പോകുമ്പോള് പിറ്റെ ശബ്ബത്തില് ഈ വചനം തങ്ങളോടു പറയേണം എന്നു അവര് അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

42. And the Jews having gone out of the synagogue, the nations begged that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.

43. പള്ളി പിരിഞ്ഞശേഷം യെഹൂദന്മാരിലും ഭക്തിയുള്ള യെഹൂദമതാനുസാരികളിലും പലര് പൌലൊസിനെയും ബര്ന്നാബാസിനെയും അനുഗമിച്ചു; അവര് അവരോടു സംസാരിച്ചു ദൈവ കൃപയില് നിലനില്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരെ ഉത്സാഹിപ്പിച്ചു.

43. And the synagogue being broken up, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas; who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

44. പിറ്റെ ശബ്ബത്തില് ഏകദേശം പട്ടണം മുഴുവനും ദൈവവചനം കേള്പ്പാന് വന്നു കൂടി.

44. And on the coming sabbath day almost all the city came together to hear the Word of God.

45. യെഹൂദന്മാരോ പുരുഷാരത്തെ കണ്ടു അസൂയ നിറഞ്ഞവരായി ദുഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പൌലൊസ് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതിന്നു എതിര് പറഞ്ഞു.

45. But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy and contradicted those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.

46. അപ്പോള് പൌലൊസും ബര്ന്നബാസും ധൈര്യംപൂണ്ടുദൈവവചനം ആദ്യം നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നത് ആവശ്യമായിരുന്നു; എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് അതിനെ തള്ളി നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ നിത്യജീവന്നു അയോഗ്യര് എന്നു വിധിച്ചുകളയുന്നതിനാല് ഇതാ, ഞങ്ങള് ജാതികളിലേക്കു തിരിയുന്നു.

46. But speaking boldly, Paul and Barnabas said, It was necessary for the Word of God to be spoken to you first. But since indeed you put it far from you and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the nations.

47. “നീ ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റത്തോളവും രക്ഷ ആകേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നെ ജാതികളുടെ വെളിച്ചമാക്കി വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു കര്ത്താവു ഞങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

47. For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, 'I have set You to be a light of the nations, for salvation to the end of the earth.'

48. ജാതികള് ഇതു കേട്ടു സന്തോഷിച്ചു ദൈവവചനത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തി, നിത്യജീവന്നായി നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ടവര് എല്ലാവരും വിശ്വസിച്ചു.

48. And hearing, the nations rejoiced and glorified the Word of the Lord. And as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

49. കര്ത്താവിന്റെ വചനം ആ നാട്ടില് എങ്ങും വ്യാപിച്ചു.

49. And the Word of the Lord was carried throughout all the country.

50. യെഹൂദന്മാരോ ഭക്തിയുള്ള മാന്യ സ്ത്രീകളെയും പട്ടണത്തിലെ പ്രധാനികളെയും ഇളക്കി പൌലൊസിന്റെയും ബര്ന്നബാസിന്റെയും നേരെ ഉപദ്രവമുണ്ടാക്കി അവരെ തങ്ങളുടെ അതിരുകളില് നിന്നു പുറത്താക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

50. But the Jews stirred up the devout and honorable women, and the chief ones of the city, and raised a persecution against Paul and Barnabas. And they threw them out of their borders.

51. എന്നാല് അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ കാലിലെ പൊടി അവരുടെ നേരെ തട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു ഇക്കോന്യയിലേക്കു പോയി.

51. But shaking the dust of their feet off on them, they came into Iconium.

52. ശിഷ്യന്മാര് സന്തോഷവും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവും നിറഞ്ഞവരായിത്തീര്ന്നു.

52. And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
