1. അനന്തരം അവന് അഥേന വിട്ടു കൊരിന്തില് ചെന്നു.

1. After these things, he went away from Athens, and came to Corinth.

2. യെഹൂദന്മാര് എല്ലാവരും റോമനഗരം വിട്ടു പോകണം എന്നു ക്ളൌദ്യൊസ് കല്പിച്ചതു കൊണ്ടു ഇത്തല്യയില് നിന്നു ആ ഇടെക്കു വന്നവനായി പൊന്തൊസ്കാരന് അക്വിലാസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു യെഹൂദനെയും അവന്റെ ഭാര്യ പ്രിസ്കില്ലയെയും കണ്ടു അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു.

2. And there he came across a certain Jew named Aquila, a man of Pontus by birth, who not long before had come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had given orders that all Jews were to go away from Rome: and he came to them;

3. തൊഴില് ഒന്നാകകൊണ്ടു അവന് അവരോടുകൂടെ പാര്ത്തു വേല ചെയ്തുപോന്നു; തൊഴിലോ കൂടാരപ്പണിയായിരുന്നു.

3. And because he was of the same trade, he was living with them, and they did their work together; for by trade they were tent-makers.

4. എന്നാല് ശബ്ബത്ത് തോറും അവന് പള്ളിയില് സംവാദിച്ചു യെഹൂദന്മാരെയും യവനന്മാരെയും സമ്മതിപ്പിച്ചു.

4. And every Sabbath he had discussions in the Synagogue, turning Jews and Greeks to the faith.

5. ശീലാസും തിമൊഥെയൊസും മക്കെദോന്യയില് നിന്നു വന്നാറെ പൌലൊസ് വചനഘോഷണത്തില് ശുഷ്കാന്തിപൂണ്ടു യേശു തന്നേ ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാര്ക്കും സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചു.

5. And when Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul was completely given up to the word, preaching to the Jews that the Christ was Jesus.

6. അവര് എതിര് പറയുകയും ദുഷിക്കയും ചെയ്കയാല് അവന് വസ്ത്രം കുടഞ്ഞുനിങ്ങളുടെ നാശത്തിന്നു നിങ്ങള് തന്നേ ഉത്തരവാദികള്; ഞാന് നിര്മ്മലന് ഇനിമേല് ഞാന് ജാതികളുടെ അടുക്കല് പോകും എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

6. And when they put themselves against him, and said evil words, he said, shaking his clothing, Your blood be on your heads, I am clean: from now I will go to the Gentiles.

7. And moving from there, he went into the house of a man named Titus Justus, a God-fearing man, whose house was very near the Synagogue.

8. പള്ളി പ്രമാണിയായ ക്രിസ്പൊസ് തന്റെ സകല കുടുംബത്തോടുംകൂടെ കര്ത്താവില് വിശ്വസിച്ചു; കൊരിന്ത്യരില് അനേകര് വചനം കേട്ടു വിശ്വസിച്ചു സ്നാനം ഏറ്റു.

8. And Crispus, the ruler of the Synagogue, with all his family, had faith in the Lord; and a great number of the people of Corinth, hearing the word, had faith and were given baptism.

9. രാത്രിയില് കര്ത്താവു ദര്ശനത്തില് പൌലൊസിനോടുനീ ഭയപ്പെടാതെ പ്രസംഗിക്ക; മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കരുത്; ഞാന് നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടു; ആരും നിന്നെ കയ്യേറ്റം ചെയ്തു ദോഷപ്പെടുത്തുകയില്ല; ഈ പട്ടണത്തില് എനിക്കു വളരെ ജനം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

9. And the Lord said to Paul in the night, in a vision, Have no fear and go on preaching:

10. For I am with you, and no one will make an attack on you to do you damage: for I have a number of people in this town.

11. ഗല്ലിയോന് അഖായയില് ദേശഅധിപതിയായി വാഴുമ്പോള് യെഹൂദന്മാര് പൌലൊസിന്റെ നേരെ ഒരുമനപ്പെട്ടു എഴുന്നേറ്റു, അവനെ ന്യായാസനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ കൊണ്ടു ചെന്നു

11. And he was there for a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

12. ഇവന് ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്നു വിരോധമായി ദൈവത്തെ ഭജിപ്പാന് മനുഷ്യരെ സമ്മതിപ്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

12. But when Gallio was ruler of Achaia, all the Jews together made an attack on Paul, and took him to the judge's seat,

13. പൌലൊസ് വായ്തുറപ്പാന് ഭാവിക്കുമ്പോള് ഗല്ലിയോന് യെഹൂദന്മാരോടുയെഹൂദന്മാരേ, വല്ല അന്യായമോ വല്ലാത്ത പാതകമോ ആയിരുന്നെങ്കില് ഞാന് ക്ഷമയോടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ സങ്കടം കേള്ക്കുമായിരുന്നു.

13. Saying, This man is teaching the people to give worship to God in a way which is against the law.

14. വചനത്തെയും നാമങ്ങളെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെയും സംബന്ധിച്ചുള്ള തര്ക്കസംഗതികള് എങ്കിലോ നിങ്ങള് തന്നേ നോക്കിക്കൊള്വിന് ; ഈ വകെക്കു ന്യായാധിപതി ആകുവാന് എനിക്കു മനസ്സില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു

14. But when Paul was about to say something, Gallio said to the Jews, If this was anything to do with wrongdoing or crime, there would be a reason for me to give you a hearing:

15. അവരെ ന്യായാസനത്തിങ്കല്നിന്നു പുറത്താക്കി.

15. But if it is a question of words or names or of your law, see to it yourselves; I will not be a judge of such things.

16. എല്ലാവരും പള്ളിപ്രമാണിയായ സോസ്ഥനേസിനെ പിടിച്ചു ന്യായാസനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പില് വെച്ചു അടിച്ചു; ഇതു ഒന്നും ഗല്ലിയോന് കൂട്ടാക്കിയില്ല.

16. And he sent them away from the judge's seat.

17. പൌലൊസ് പിന്നെയും കുറെനാള് പാര്ത്തശേഷം സഹോദരന്മാരോടു യാത്ര പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു, തനിക്കു ഒരു നേര്ച്ച ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതിനാല് കെംക്രയയില് വെച്ചു തല ക്ഷൌരം ചെയ്യിച്ചിട്ടു പ്രിസ്കില്ലയോടും അക്വിലാസിനോടും കൂടെ കപ്പല് കയറി സുറിയയിലേക്കു പുറപ്പെട്ടു

17. And they all made an attack on Sosthenes, the ruler of the Synagogue, and gave him blows before the judge's seat; but Gallio gave no attention to these things.

18. എഫെസോസില് എത്തി അവരെ അവിടെ വിട്ടു, അവന് പള്ളിയില് ചെന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാരോടു സംഭാഷിച്ചു.

18. And Paul, after waiting some days, went away from the brothers and went by ship to Syria, Priscilla and Aquila being with him; and he had had his hair cut off in Cenchrea, for he had taken an oath.

19. കുറെ കൂടെ താമസിക്കേണം എന്നു അവര് അപേക്ഷിച്ചിട്ടു അവന് സമ്മതിക്കാതെ

19. And they came down to Ephesus and he left them there: and he himself went into the Synagogue and had a discussion with the Jews.

20. ദൈവഹിതമുണ്ടെങ്കില് ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് മടങ്ങിവരും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു വിടവാങ്ങി എഫെസൊസില്നിന്നു കപ്പല് നീക്കി,

20. And being requested by them to be there for a longer time, he said, No;

21. കൈസര്യയില് വന്നിറങ്ങി, യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു ചെന്നു, സഭയെ വന്ദനം ചെയ്തിട്ടു അന്തൊക്ക്യയിലേക്കു പോയി.

21. And went from them, saying, I will come back to you if God lets me; and he took ship from Ephesus.

22. അവിടെ കുറെനാള് താമസിച്ച ശേഷം പുറപ്പെട്ടു, ക്രമത്താലെ ഗലാത്യദേശത്തിലും ഫ്രുഗ്യയിലും സഞ്ചരിച്ചു ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ ഒക്കെയും ഉറപ്പിച്ചു.

22. And when he had come to land at Caesarea, he went to see the church, and then went down to Antioch.

23. അലക്സാന്ത്രിയക്കാരനായി വാഗ്വൈഭവവും തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളില് സാമര്ത്ഥ്യവുമുള്ള അപ്പൊല്ലോസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു യെഹൂദന് എഫെസോസില് എത്തി.

23. And having been there for some time, he went through the country of Galatia and Phrygia in order, making the disciples strong in the faith.

24. അവന് കര്ത്താവിന്റെ മാര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് ഉപദേശം ലഭിച്ചവന് ആയിരുന്നു; യോഹന്നാന്റെ സ്നാനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു മാത്രം അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു എങ്കിലും ആത്മാവില് എരിവുള്ളവനാകയാല് അവന് യേശുവിന്റെ വസ്തുത സൂക്ഷമമായി പ്രസ്താവിക്കയും ഉപദേശിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

24. Now a certain Jew named Apollos, an Alexandrian by birth, and a man of learning, came to Ephesus; and he had great knowledge of the holy Writings.

25. അവന് പള്ളിയില് പ്രാഗത്ഭ്യത്തോടെ പ്രസംഗിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി; അക്വിലാസും പ്രിസ്കില്ലയും അവന്റെ പ്രസംഗം കേട്ടാറെ അവനെ ചേര്ത്തുകൊണ്ടു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മാര്ഗ്ഗം അധികം സ്പഷ്ടമായി അവന്നു തെളിയിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

25. This man had been trained in the way of the Lord; and burning in spirit, he gave himself up to teaching the facts about Jesus, though he had knowledge only of John's baptism:

26. അവന് അഖായയിലേക്കു പോകുവാന് ഇച്ഛിച്ചപ്പോള് സഹോദരന്മാര് അവനെ ഉത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കയും അവനെ കൈക്കൊള്ളേണ്ടിതിന്നു ശിഷ്യന്മാര്ക്കും എഴുതുകയും ചെയ്തു; അവിടെ എത്തിയാറെ അവന് ദൈവകൃപയാല് വിശ്വസിച്ചവര്ക്കും വളരെ പ്രയോജനമായിത്തിര്ന്നു.

26. And he was preaching in the Synagogue without fear. But Priscilla and Aquila, hearing his words, took him in, and gave him fuller teaching about the way of God.

27. യേശു തന്നേ ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു അവന് തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളാല് തെളിയിച്ചു ബലത്തോടെ യെഹൂദന്മാരെ പരസ്യമായി ഖണ്ഡിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

27. And when he had a desire to go over into Achaia, the brothers gave him help, and sent letters to the disciples requesting them to take him in among them: and when he had come, he gave much help to those who had faith through grace:
