1. ഒരു പുരുഷന് ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു വിവാഹം ചെയ്തശേഷം അവളില് ദൂഷ്യമായ വല്ലതും കണ്ടിട്ടു അവന്നു അവളോടു അനിഷ്ടം തോന്നിയാല് ഒരു ഉപേക്ഷണപത്രം എഴുതി കയ്യില് കൊടുത്തു അവളെ വീട്ടില്നിന്നു അയക്കേണം.

1. When a man hath taken a wife and married her, if she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath spied some uncleanness in her: Then let him write her a bill of divorcement and put it in her hand and send her out of his house.

2. അവന്റെ വീട്ടില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടശേഷം അവള് പോയി മറ്റൊരു പുരുഷന്നു ഭാര്യയായി ഇരിക്കാം.

2. If when she is departed out of his house, she go and be another man's wife

3. എന്നാല് രണ്ടാമത്തെ ഭര്ത്താവു അവളെ വെറുത്തു ഒരു ഉപേക്ഷണപത്രം എഴുതി കയ്യില് കൊടുത്തു അവളെ വീട്ടില്നിന്നു അയക്കയോ അവളെ ഭാര്യയായിട്ടു എടുത്ത രണ്ടാമത്തെ ഭര്ത്താവു മരിച്ചുപോകയോ ചെയ്താല്

3. and the second husband hate her and write her a letter of divorcement and put it in her hand and send her out of his house, or if the second man die which took her to wife;

4. അവളെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച മുമ്പിലത്തെ ഭര്ത്താവിന്നു അവള് അശുദ്ധയായശേഷം അവളെ പിന്നെയും ഭാര്യയായി പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചുകൂടാ; അതു യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ അറെപ്പാകുന്നു; നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശം നീ പാപംകൊണ്ടു മലിനമാക്കരുതു.

4. Her first man which sent her away may not take her again to be his wife, inasmuch as she is defiled. For that is abomination in the sight of the LORD: that thou defile not the land with sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee to inherit.

5. ഒരു പുരുഷന് പുതുതായി ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന് യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു പോകരുതു; അവന്റെമേല് യാതൊരു ഭാരവും വെക്കരുതു; അവന് ഒരു സംവത്സരത്തേക്കു വീട്ടില് സ്വതന്ത്രനായിരുന്നു താന് പരിഗ്രഹിച്ച ഭാര്യയെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കേണം.

5. When a man taketh a new wife, he shall not go a warfare neither shall be charged with any business: but shall be free at home one year and rejoice with his wife which he hath taken.

6. തിരികല്ലാകട്ടെ അതിന്റെ മേല്ക്കല്ലാകട്ടെ ആരും പണയം വാങ്ങരുതു; അതു ജീവനെ പണയം വാങ്ങുകയല്ലോ.

6. No man shall take the nether or the upper millstone to pledge, for then he taketh a man's life to pledge.

7. ആരെങ്കിലും തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളില് ഒരുത്തനെ മോഷ്ടിച്ചു അവനോടു കാഠിന്യം പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കയോ അവനെ വിലെക്കു വില്ക്കയോ ചെയ്യുന്നതു കണ്ടാല് മോഷ്ടാവു മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം. ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു ദോഷം നീക്കിക്കളയേണം.

7. If any man be found stealing any of his brethren the children of Israel, and maketh chevisance of him or selleth him, the thief shall die. And thou shalt put evil away from thee.

8. കുഷ്ഠരോഗത്തിന്റെ ബാധാകാര്യത്തില് ഏറ്റവും സൂക്ഷിച്ചിരിപ്പാനും ലേവ്യരായ പുരോഹിതന്മാര് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഉപദേശിച്ചു തരുന്നതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്വാനും ജാഗ്രതയായിരിക്കേണം; ഞാന് അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ തന്നേ നിങ്ങള് ചെയ്യേണം.

8. Take heed to thyself as concerning the plague of leprosy, that thou observe diligently to do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach thee, as I commanded them so ye shall observe to do.

9. നിങ്ങള് മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടശേഷം നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ വഴിയില് വെച്ചു മിര്യ്യാമിനോടു ചെയ്തതു ഔര്ത്തുകൊള്ക.

9. Remember what the LORD thy God did unto Miriam by the way, after that ye were come out of Egypt.

10. കൂട്ടുകാരന്നു എന്തെങ്കിലും വായിപ്പകൊടുക്കുമ്പോള് അവന്റെ പണയം വാങ്ങുവാന് വീട്ടിന്നകത്തു കടക്കരുതു.

10. If thou lend thy brother any manner succour, thou shalt not go into his house to fetch a pledge:

11. നീ പുറത്തു നില്ക്കേണം; വായിപ്പവാങ്ങിയവന് പണയം നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരേണം.

11. but shalt stand without and the man to whom thou lendest, shall bring thee the pledge out at the door.

12. അവന് ദരിദ്രനാകുന്നുവെങ്കില് നീ അവന്റെ പണയം കൈവശം വെച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ഉറങ്ങരുതു.

12. Furthermore if it be a poor body, go not to sleep with his pledge:

13. അവന് തന്റെ വസ്ത്രം പുതെച്ചു ഉറങ്ങി നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു സൂര്യന് അസ്തമിക്കുമ്പോള് പണയം നീ അവന്നു മടക്കിക്കൊടുക്കേണം; അതു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നിനക്കു നീതിയായിരിക്കും.

13. but deliver him the pledge again by that the son go down, and let him sleep in his own raiment and bless thee. And it shall be righteousness unto thee, before the LORD thy God.

14. നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരിലോ നിന്റെ ദേശത്തു നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലുള്ള പരദേശികളിലോ ദരിദ്രനും അഗതിയുമായ കൂലിക്കാരനെ നീ പീഡിപ്പിക്കരുതു.

14. Thou shalt not defraud an hired servant that is needy and poor, whether he be of thy brethren or a stranger that is in thy land within thy cities.

15. അവന്റെ കൂലി അന്നേക്കന്നു കൊടുക്കേണം; സൂര്യന് അതിന്മേല് അസ്തമിക്കരുതു; അവന് ദരിദ്രനും അതിന്നായി ആശിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നവനുമല്ലോ. അവന് നിനക്കു വിരോധമായി യഹോവയോടു നിലവിളിപ്പാനും അതു നിനക്കു പാപമായിത്തീരുവാനും ഇടവരുത്തരുതു.

15. Give him his hire the same day, and let not the son go down thereon. For he is needy and therewith sustaineth his life, lest he cry against thee unto the LORD and it be sin unto thee.

16. മക്കള്ക്കു പകരം അപ്പന്മാരും അപ്പന്മാര്ക്കും പകരം മക്കളും മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കരുതു; താന്താന്റെ പാപത്തിന്നു താന്താന് മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.

16. The fathers shall not die for the children nor the children for the fathers: but every man shall die for his own sin.

17. പരദേശിയുടെയും അനാഥന്റെയും ന്യായം മറിച്ചുകളയരുതു; വിധവയുടെ വസ്ഡത്രം പണയം വാങ്ങുകയുമരുതു.

17. Hinder not the right of the stranger nor of the fatherless, nor take widow's raiment to pledge.

18. നീ മിസ്രയീമില് അടിമയായിരുന്നു എന്നും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ അവിടെനിന്നു വീണ്ടെടുത്തു എന്നും ഔര്ക്കേണം; അതുകൊണ്ടാകുന്നു ഇക്കാര്യം ഞാന് നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതു.

18. But remember that thou wast a servant in Egypt, and how the LORD thy God delivered thee thence. Wherefore I command thee to do this thing.

19. നിന്റെ വയലില് വിളവു കൊയ്തിട്ടു ഒരു കറ്റ വയലില് മറന്നുപോന്നാല് അതിനെ എടുപ്പാന് മടങ്ങിപ്പോകരുതു; നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്റെ സകലപ്രവൃത്തിയിലും നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അതു പരദേശിക്കും അനാഥന്നും വിധവേക്കും ഇരിക്കട്ടെ.

19. When thou cuttest down thine harvest in the field and hast forgotten a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again and fetch it: But it shall be for the stranger, the fatherless and the widow, that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand.

20. ഒലിവുവൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ ഫലം തല്ലുമ്പോള് കൊമ്പു തപ്പിപ്പറിക്കരുതു; അതു പരദേശിക്കും അനാഥന്നും വിധവേക്കും ഇരിക്കട്ടെ.

20. When thou beatest down thine olive trees thou shalt not make clean riddance after thee: but it shall be for the stranger, the fatherless and the widow.

21. മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിലെ പഴം അറുത്തെടുക്കുമ്പോള് കാലാ പെറുക്കരുതു; അതു പരദേശിക്കും അനാഥന്നും വിധവേക്കും ഇരിക്കട്ടെ; നീ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു അടിമയായിരുന്നു എന്നു ഔര്ക്കേണം; അതുകൊണ്ടാകുന്നു ഞാന് ഇക്കാര്യം നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതു.

21. And when thou gatherest thy vineyard, thou shalt not gather clean after thee: but it shall be for the stranger, the fatherless and the widow.
