1. അബ്രാഹാം വേറൊരു ഭാര്യയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു; അവള്ക്കു കെതൂറാ എന്നു പേര്.

1. And Abraham addeth and taketh a wife, and her name [is] Keturah;

2. അവള് സിമ്രാന് , യൊക്ശാന് , മെദാന് , മിദ്യാന് , യിശ്ബാക്, ശൂവഹ് എന്നിവരെ പ്രസവിച്ചു.

2. and she beareth to him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.

3. യൊക്ശാന് ശെബയെയും ദെദാനെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; ദെദാന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര് അശ്ശൂരീം, ലെത്തൂശീം, ലെയുമ്മീം എന്നിവര്.

3. And Jokshan hath begotten Sheba and Dedan; and the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim;

4. മിദ്യാന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര് ഏഫാ, ഏഫെര്, ഹനോക്, അബീദാ, എല്ദാഗാ എന്നിവര്. ഇവര് എല്ലാവരും കെതൂറയുടെ മക്കള്.

4. and the sons of Midian [are] Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abidah, and Eldaah: all these [are] sons of Keturah.

5. എന്നാല് അബ്രാഹാം തനിക്കുള്ളതൊക്കെയും യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു കൊടുത്തു.

5. And Abraham giveth all that he hath to Isaac;

6. അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന വെപ്പാട്ടികളുടെ മക്കള്ക്കോ അബ്രാഹാം ദാനങ്ങള് കൊടുത്തു; താന് ജീവനോടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് തന്നേ അവരെ തന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ അടുക്കല്നിന്നു കിഴക്കോട്ടു കിഴക്കുദേശത്തേക്കു അയച്ചു.

6. and to the sons of the concubines whom Abraham hath, Abraham hath given gifts, and sendeth them away from Isaac his son (in his being yet alive) eastward, unto the east country.

7. അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലം നൂറ്റെഴുപത്തഞ്ചു സംവത്സരം ആയിരുന്നു.

7. And these [are] the days of the years of the life of Abraham, which he lived, a hundred and seventy and five years;

8. അബ്രാഹാം വയോധികനും കാലസമ്പൂര്ണ്ണനുമായി നല്ല വാര്ദ്ധക്യത്തില് പ്രാണനെ വിട്ടു മരിച്ചു, തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേര്ന്നു.

8. and Abraham expireth, and dieth in a good old age, aged and satisfied, and is gathered unto his people.

9. അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരായ യിസ്ഹാക്കും യിശ്മായേലും കൂടി മമ്രേക്കരികെ സോഹരിന്റെ മകനായ എഫ്രോനെന്ന ഹിത്യന്റെ നിലത്തു മക്പേലാഗുഹയില് അവനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു.

9. And Isaac and Ishmael his sons bury him at the cave of Machpelah, at the field of Ephron, son of Zoar the Hittite, which [is] before Mamre --

10. അബ്രാഹാം ഹിത്യരോടു വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങിയ നിലത്തു തന്നേ; അവിടെ അബ്രാഹാമിനെയും അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ സാറയെയും അടക്കം ചെയ്തു.

10. the field which Abraham bought from the sons of Heth -- there hath Abraham been buried, and Sarah his wife.

11. അബ്രാഹാം മരിച്ചശേഷം ദൈവം അവന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു; യിസ്ഹാക് ബേര്ലഹയിരോയീക്കരികെ പാര്ത്തു.

11. And it cometh to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blesseth Isaac his son; and Isaac dwelleth by the Well of the Living One, my Beholder.

12. സാറയുടെ മിസ്രയീമ്യദാസി ഹാഗാര് അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു പ്രസവിച്ച മകനായ യിശ്മായേലിന്റെ വംശപാരമ്പര്യം അവരുടെ വംശാവലിപ്രകാരം പേരുപേരായി യിശ്മായേലിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെ പേരുകള് ആവിതുയിശ്മായേലിന്റെ ആദ്യജാതന് നെബായോത്ത്,

12. And these [are] births of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, hath borne to Abraham;

13. കേദാര്, അദ്ബെയേല്, മിബ്ശാം, മിശ്മാ, ദൂമാ,

13. and these [are] the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their births: first-born of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,

14. മശ്ശാ, ഹദാദ്, തേമാ, യെതൂര്, നാഫീശ്, കേദെമാ.

14. and Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,

15. പന്ത്രണ്ടു പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരായ യിശ്മായേലിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര് അവരുടെ ഊരുകളിലും പാളയങ്ങളിലും വംശംവംശമായി ഇവര് ആകുന്നു; അവരുടെ പേരുകള് ഇവ തന്നേ.

15. Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:

16. യിശ്മായേലിന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലം നൂറ്റി മുപ്പത്തേഴു സംവത്സരം ആയിരുന്നു; അവന് പ്രാണനെ വിട്ടു മരിച്ചു, തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേര്ന്നു.

16. these are sons of Ishmael, and these their names, by their villages, and by their towers; twelve princes according to their peoples.

17. ഹവീലാ തുടങ്ങി അശ്ശൂരിലേക്കു പോകുന്ന വഴിയില് മിസ്രയീമിന്നു കിഴക്കുള്ള ശൂര്വരെ അവര് കുടിയിരുന്നു; അവന് തന്റെ സകലസഹോദരന്മാര്ക്കും എതിരെ പാര്ത്തു.

17. And these [are] the years of the life of Ishmael, a hundred and thirty and seven years; and he expireth, and dieth, and is gathered unto his people;

18. അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ വംശപാരമ്പര്യമാവിതുഅബ്രാഹാം യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

18. and they tabernacle from Havilah unto Shur, which [is] before Egypt, in [thy] going towards Asshur; in the presence of all his brethren hath he fallen.

19. യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു നാല്പതു വയസ്സായപ്പോള് അവന് പദ്ദന് -അരാമിലുള്ള അരാമ്യനായ ബെഥൂവേലിന്റെ പുത്രിയും അരാമ്യനായ ലാബാന്റെ സഹോദരിയുമായ റിബെക്കയെ ഭാര്യയായി പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

19. And these [are] births of Isaac, Abraham's son: Abraham hath begotten Isaac;

20. തന്റെ ഭാര്യ മച്ചിയായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു യിസ്ഹാക് അവള്ക്കു വേണ്ടി യഹോവയോടു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു; യഹോവ അവന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കേട്ടു; അവന്റെ ഭാര്യ റിബെക്കാ ഗര്ഭം ധരിച്ചു.

20. and Isaac is a son of forty years in his taking Rebekah, daughter of Bethuel the Aramaean, from Padan-Aram, sister of Laban the Aramaean, to him for a wife.

21. അവളുടെ ഉള്ളില് ശിശുക്കള് തമ്മില് തിക്കിയപ്പോള് അവള്ഇങ്ങനെയായാല് ഞാന് എന്തിന്നു ജീവിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു യഹോവയോടു ചോദിപ്പാന് പോയി.

21. And Isaac maketh entreaty to Jehovah before his wife, for she [is] barren: and Jehovah is entreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceiveth,

22. യഹോവ അവളോടുരണ്ടുജാതികള് നിന്റെ ഗര്ഭത്തില് ഉണ്ടു. രണ്ടു വംശങ്ങള് നിന്റെ ഉദരത്തില്നിന്നു തന്നേ പിരിയും; ഒരു വംശം മറ്റേ വംശത്തിലും ശക്തിപ്പെടും മൂത്തവന് ഇളയവനെ സേവിക്കും. എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

22. and the children struggle together within her, and she saith, 'If [it is] right -- why [am] I thus?' and she goeth to seek Jehovah.

23. And Jehovah saith to her, 'Two nations [are] in thy womb, and two peoples from thy bowels are parted; and the [one] people than the [other] people is stronger; and the elder doth serve the younger.'

24. ഒന്നാമത്തവന് ചുവന്നവനായി പുറത്തുവന്നു, മേല് മുഴുവനും രോമംകൊണ്ടുള്ള വസ്ത്രംപോലെ ഇരുന്നു; അവന്നു ഏശാവ് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

24. And her days to bear are fulfilled, and lo, twins [are] in her womb;

25. പിന്നെ അവന്റെ സഹോദരന് പുറത്തുവന്നു; അവന്റെ കൈ ഏശാവിന്റെ കുതികാല് പിടിച്ചിരുന്നു; അവന്നു യാക്കോബ് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു. അവള് അവരെ പ്രസവിച്ചപ്പോള് യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു അറുപതു വയസ്സു ആയിരുന്നു.

25. and the first cometh out all red as a hairy robe, and they call his name Esau;

26. കുട്ടികള് വളര്ന്നു; ഏശാവ് വേട്ടയില് സമര്ത്ഥനും വനസഞ്ചാരിയും യാക്കോബ് സാധുശീലനും കൂടാരവാസിയും ആയിരുന്നു.

26. and afterwards hath his brother come out, and his hand is taking hold on Esau's heel, and one calleth his name Jacob; and Isaac [is] a son of sixty years in her bearing them.

27. ഏശാവിന്റെ വേട്ടയിറച്ചിയില് രുചിപിടിച്ചരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു യിസ്ഹാക്ക് അവനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു; റിബെക്കയോ യാക്കോബിനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു.

27. And the youths grew, and Esau is a man acquainted [with] hunting, a man of the field; and Jacob [is] a plain man, inhabiting tents;

28. ഒരിക്കല് യാക്കോബ് ഒരു പായസം വെച്ചു; ഏശാവ് വെളിന് പ്രദേശത്തു നിന്നു വന്നു; അവന് നന്നാ ക്ഷീണിച്ചിരുന്നു.

28. and Isaac loveth Esau, for [his] hunting [is] in his mouth; and Rebekah is loving Jacob.

29. ആ ചുവന്ന പായസം കുറെ എനിക്കു തരേണം; ഞാന് നന്നാ ക്ഷീണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്നു ഏദോം (ചുവന്നവന് ) എന്നു പേരായി.

29. And Jacob boileth pottage, and Esau cometh in from the field, and he [is] weary;

30. നിന്റെ ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശം ഇന്നു എനിക്കു വിലക്കുക എന്നു യാക്കോബ് പറഞ്ഞു.

30. and Esau saith unto Jacob, 'Let me eat, I pray thee, some of this red red thing, for I [am] weary;' therefore hath [one] called his name Edom [Red];

31. അതിന്നു ഏശാവ്ഞാന് മരിക്കേണ്ടിവരുമല്ലോ; ഈ ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശം എനിക്കു എന്തിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

31. and Jacob saith, 'Sell to-day thy birthright to me.'

32. ഇന്നു എന്നോടു സത്യം ചെയ്ക എന്നു യാക്കോബ് പറഞ്ഞു. അവന് അവനോടു സത്യം ചെയ്തു; തന്റെ ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശം യാക്കോബിന്നു വിറ്റു.

32. And Esau saith, 'Lo, I am going to die, and what is this to me -- birthright?'

33. യാക്കോബ് ഏശാവിന്നു അപ്പവും പയറുകൊണ്ടുള്ള പായസവും കൊടുത്തു; അവന് ഭക്ഷിച്ചു പാനം ചെയ്തു, എഴുന്നേറ്റുപോയി; ഇങ്ങനെ ഏശാവ് ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശത്തെ അലക്ഷ്യമാക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു
