1. അനന്തരം യിസ്രായേല് തനിക്കുള്ള സകലവുമായി യാത്ര പുറപ്പെട്ടു ബേര്-ശേബയില് എത്തി തന്റെ പിതാവായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്നു യാഗം കഴിച്ചു.

1. And Israel journeyeth, and all that he hath, and cometh in to Beer-Sheba, and sacrificeth sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac;

2. ദൈവം യിസ്രായേലിനോടു രാത്രി ദര്ശനങ്ങളില്യാക്കോബേ, യാക്കോബേ എന്നു വിളിച്ചതിന്നു ഞാന് ഇതാ എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

2. and God speaketh to Israel in visions of the night, and saith, 'Jacob, Jacob;' and he saith, 'Here [am] I.'

3. അപ്പോള് അവന് ഞാന് ദൈവം ആകുന്നു; നിന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ദൈവം തന്നേ; മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു പോകുവാന് ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; അവിടെ ഞാന് നിന്നെ വലിയ ജാതിയാക്കും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

3. And He saith, 'I [am] God, God of thy father, be not afraid of going down to Egypt, for for a great nation I set thee there;

4. ഞാന് നിന്നോടുകൂടെ മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു പോരും; ഞാന് നിന്നെ മടക്കി വരുത്തും; യോസേഫ് സ്വന്തകൈകൊണ്ടു നിന്റെ കണ്ണു അടെക്കും എന്നും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

4. I -- I go down with thee to Egypt, and I -- I also certainly bring thee up, and Joseph doth put his hand on thine eyes.'

5. പിന്നെ യാക്കോബ് ബേര്-ശേബയില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര് അപ്പനായ യാക്കോബിനെ കയറ്റുവാന് ഫറവോന് അയച്ച രഥങ്ങളില് അവനെയും തങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളെയും ഭാര്യമാരെയും കയറ്റി കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

5. And Jacob riseth from Beer-Sheba, and the sons of Israel bear away Jacob their father, And their infants, and their wives, in the waggons which Pharaoh hath sent to bear him,

6. തങ്ങളുടെ ആടുമാടുകളെയും കനാന് ദേശത്തുവെച്ചു സമ്പാദിച്ച സമ്പത്തുകളെയും കൊണ്ടുപോയി; അങ്ങനെ യാക്കോബും സന്തതികളുമെല്ലാം മിസ്രയീമില് എത്തി.

6. and they take their cattle, and their goods which they have acquired in the land of Canaan, and come into Egypt -- Jacob, and all his seed with him,

7. അവന് തന്റെ പുത്രിപുത്രന്മാരെയും പൌത്രിപൌത്രന്മാരെയും തന്റെ സന്തതികളെയൊക്കെയും കൂട്ടി മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

7. his sons, and his sons' sons with him, his daughters, and his sons' daughters, yea, all his seed he brought with him into Egypt.

8. മിസ്രയീമില് വന്ന യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ പേരുകള് ആവിതുയാക്കോബും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും; യാക്കോബിന്റെ ആദ്യജാതനായ രൂബേന് .

8. And these [are] the names of the sons of Israel who are coming into Egypt: Jacob and his sons, Jacob's first-born, Reuben.

9. രൂബേന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര് ഹാനോക്, ഫല്ലൂ, ഹെസ്രോന് , കര്മ്മി.

9. And sons of Reuben: Hanoch, and Phallu, and Hezron, and Carmi.

10. ശിമെയോന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്യെമൂവേല്, യാമീന് , ഔഹദ്, യാഖീന് , സോഹര്, കനാന്യക്കാരത്തിയുടെ മകനായ ശൌല്.

10. And sons of Simeon: Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul son of the Canaanitess.

11. ലേവിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്ഗേര്ശോന് , കഹാത്ത്, മെരാരി.

11. And sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

12. യെഹൂദയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്ഏര്, ഔനാന് , ശേലാ, പേരെസ്, സേരഹ്; എന്നാല് ഏര് ഔനാന് എന്നിവര് കനാന് ദേശത്തുവെച്ചു മരിച്ചുപോയി. പേരെസിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്

12. And sons of Judah: Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pharez, and Zarah, (and Er and Onan die in the land of Canaan.) And sons of Pharez are Hezron and Hamul.

13. ഹെസ്രോന് , ഹാമൂല്. യിസ്സാഖാരിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്തോലാ, പുവ്വാ, യോബ്, ശിമ്രോന് .

13. And sons of Issachar: Tola, and Phuvah, and Job, and Shimron.

14. സെബൂലൂന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്സേരെദ്, ഏലോന് , യഹ്ളെയേല്.

14. And sons of Zebulun: Sered, and Elon, and Jahleel.

15. ഇവര് ലേയയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്; അവള് അവരെയും യാക്കോബിന്റെ മകളായ ദീനയെയും അവന്നു പദ്ദന് --അരാമില്വെച്ചു പ്രസവിച്ചു; അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും എല്ലാം കൂടെ മുപ്പത്തുമൂന്നു പേര് ആയിരുന്നു.

15. These [are] sons of Leah whom she bare to Jacob in Padan-Aram, and Dinah his daughter; all the persons of his sons and his daughters [are] thirty and three.

16. ഗാദിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്സിഫ്യോന് , ഹഗ്ഗീ, ശൂനീ, എസ്ബോന് , ഏരി, അരോദീ, അരേലീ.

16. And sons of Gad: Ziphion, and Haggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.

17. ആശേരിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്യിമ്നാ, യിശ്വാ, യിശ്വീ, ബെരീയാ; ഇവരുടെ സഹോദരി സേരഹ്. ബെരീയാവിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്

17. And sons of Asher: Jimnah, and Ishuah, and Isui, and Beriah, and Serah their sister. And sons of Beriah: Heber and Malchiel.

18. ഹേബെര്, മല്ക്കീയേല്. ഇവര് ലാബാന് തന്റെ മകളായ ലേയെക്കു കൊടുത്ത സില്പയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്; അവള് യാക്കോബിന്നു ഈ പതിനാറു പേരെ പ്രസവിച്ചു.

18. These [are] sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, and she beareth these to Jacob -- sixteen persons.

19. യാക്കോബിന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ റാഹേലിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്

19. Sons of Rachel, Jacob's wife: Joseph and Benjamin.

20. യോസേഫ്, ബെന്യാമീന് . യോസേഫിന്നു മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു മനശ്ശെയും എഫ്രയീമും ജനിച്ചു; അവരെ ഔനിലെ പുരോഹിതനായ പോത്തിഫേറയുടെ മകളായ ആസ്നത്ത് അവന്നു പ്രസവിച്ചു.

20. And born to Joseph in the land of Egypt (whom Asenath daughter of Poti-Pherah, priest of On, hath borne to him) [are] Manasseh and Ephraim.

21. ബെന്യാമിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്ബേല, ബേഖെര്, അശ്ബെല്, ഗേരാ, നാമാന് , ഏഹീ, രോശ്, മുപ്പീം, ഹുപ്പീം, ആരെദ്.

21. And sons of Benjamin: Belah, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi, and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.

22. ഇവര് റാഹേല് യാക്കോബിന്നു പ്രസവിച്ച പുത്രന്മാര്; എല്ലാംകൂടെ പതിന്നാലു പേര്.

22. These [are] sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob; all the persons [are] fourteen.

23. ,24 ദാന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര് ഹൂശീം. നഫ്താലിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്യഹസേല്, ഗൂനീ, യേസെര്, ശില്ലോ.

23. And sons of Dan: Hushim.

24. ഇവര് ലാബാന് തന്റെ മകളായ റാഹേലിന്നു കൊടുത്ത ബില്ഹയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്; അവള് യാക്കോബിന്നു ഇവരെ പ്രസവിച്ചു; എല്ലാംകൂടെ ഏഴുപേര്.

24. And sons of Naphtali: Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem.

25. യാക്കോബിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെ ഭാര്യമാരെ കൂടാതെ അവന്റെ കടിപ്രദേശത്തുനിന്നു ജനിച്ചവരായി അവനോടുകൂടെ മിസ്രയീമില് വന്നവര് ആകെ അറുപത്താറു പേര്.

25. These [are] sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave to Rachel his daughter; and she beareth these to Jacob -- all the persons [are] seven.

26. യോസേഫിന്നു മിസ്രയീമില്വെച്ചു ജനിച്ച പുത്രന്മാര് രണ്ടുപേര്; മിസ്രയീമില് വന്നരായ യാക്കോബിന്റെ കുടുംബം ആകെ എഴുപതു പേര്.

26. All the persons who are coming to Jacob to Egypt, coming out of his thigh, apart from the wives of Jacob's sons, all the persons [are] sixty and six.

27. എന്നാല് ഗോശെനിലേക്കു യോസേഫ് തനിക്കു വഴി കാണിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന് യെഹൂദയെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് മുമ്പിട്ടു അയച്ചു; ഇങ്ങനെ അവര് ഗോശെന് ദേശത്തു എത്തി.

27. And the sons of Joseph who have been born to him in Egypt [are] two persons. All the persons of the house of Jacob who are coming into Egypt [are] seventy.

28. യോസേഫ് രഥം കെട്ടിച്ചു അപ്പനായ യിസ്രായേലിനെ എതിരേല്പാന് ഗോശെനിലേക്കു പോയി, അവനെ കണ്ടപ്പോള് കെട്ടിപ്പിടിച്ചു ഏറെനേരം കരഞ്ഞു.

28. And Judah he hath sent before him unto Joseph, to direct before him to Goshen, and they come into the land of Goshen;

29. യിസ്രായെല് യോസേഫിനോടുനീ ജീവനോടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് നിന്റെ മുഖം കണ്ടറിഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് ഇപ്പോള് തന്നേ മരിച്ചാലും വേണ്ടതില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. and Joseph harnesseth his chariot, and goeth up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and appeareth unto him, and falleth on his neck, and weepeth on his neck again;

30. പിന്നെ യോസേഫ് സഹോദരന്മാരോടും അപ്പന്റെ കുടുംബത്തോടും പറഞ്ഞതുഞാന് ചെന്നു ഫറവോനോടുകനാന് ദേശത്തുനിന്നു എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരും അപ്പന്റെ കുടുംബവും എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അറിയിക്കും.

30. and Israel saith unto Joseph, 'Let me die this time, after my seeing thy face, for thou [art] yet alive.'

31. അവര് ഇടയന്മാര് ആകുന്നു; കന്നുകാലികളെ മേയക്കുന്നതു അവരുടെ തൊഴില്; അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ ആടുകളെയും കന്നുകാലികളെയും തങ്ങള്ക്കുള്ളതൊക്കെയും കൊണ്ടുവന്നിട്ടുണ്ടു എന്നു അവനോടു പറയും.

31. And Joseph saith unto his brethren, and unto the house of his father, 'I go up, and declare to Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brethren, and the house of my father who [are] in the land of Canaan have come in unto me;

32. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഫറവോന് നിങ്ങളെ വിളിച്ചുനിങ്ങളുടെ തൊഴില് എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിക്കുമ്പോള്

32. and the men [are] feeders of a flock, for they have been men of cattle; and their flock, and their herd, and all that they have, they have brought.'

33. അടിയങ്ങള് ബാല്യംമുതല് ഇന്നുവരെയും, ഞങ്ങളും ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരും ഗോപാലകന്മാരാകുന്നു എന്നു പറവിന് ; എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഗോശെനില് പാര്പ്പാന് സംഗതിയാകും; ഇടയന്മാരെല്ലാം മിസ്രയീമ്യര്ക്കും വെറുപ്പല്ലോ.

33. 'And it hath come to pass when Pharaoh calleth for you, and hath said, What [are] your works?
