1. അനന്തരം യാക്കോബ് തന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെ വിളിച്ചു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുകൂടിവരുവിന് , ഭാവികാലത്തു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു സംഭവിപ്പാനുള്ളതു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ അറിയിക്കും.

1. And Jacob called for his sons and said: come together, that I may tell you what shall happen you in the last days.

2. യാക്കോബിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരേകൂടിവന്നു കേള്പ്പിന് ; നിങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പനായ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ മൊഴിക്കു ചെവിതരുവിന് !

2. Gather you together and hear ye sons of Jacob, and hearken unto Israel your father.

3. രൂബേനേ, നീ എന്റെ ആദ്യജാതന് , എന്റെ വിര്യവും എന്റെ ശക്തിയുടെ ആദ്യഫലവും ശ്രേഷ്ഠതയുടെ വൈശിഷ്ട്യവും ബലത്തിന്റെ വൈശിഷ്ട്യവും തന്നേ

3. Ruben, thou art mine eldest son, my might and the beginning of my strength, chief in receiving and chief in power.

4. വെള്ളംപോലെ തുളുമ്പുന്നവനേ, നീ ശ്രേഷ്ഠനാകയില്ല; നീ അപ്പന്റെ കിടക്കമേല് കയറി അതിനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കി; എന്റെ ശയ്യമേല് അവന് കയറിയല്ലോ.

4. As unstable as water wast thou: thou shalt therefore not be the chiefest, for thou wentest up upon thy father's bed, and then defiledest thou my couch with going up.

5. ശിമയോനും ലേവിയും സഹോദരന്മാര്; അവരുടെ വാളുകള് സാഹസത്തിന്റെ ആയുധങ്ങള്.

5. The brethren Simeon and Levi, wicked instruments are their weapons.

6. Into their secrets come not my soul, and unto their congregation be my honour not coupled: for in their wrath they slew a man, and in their self will they houghed an ox.

7. അവരുടെ ഉഗ്രകോപവും കഠിനക്രോധവും ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടതു; ഞാന് അവരെ യാക്കോബില് പകക്കയും യിസ്രായേലില് ചിതറിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

7. Cursed be their wrath for it was strong, and their fierceness for it was cruel. I will therefore divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.

8. യെഹൂദയേ, സഹോദരന്മാര് നിന്നെ പുകഴ്ത്തും; നിന്റെ കൈ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ കഴുത്തില് ഇരിക്കും; അപ്പന്റെ മക്കള് നിന്റെ മുമ്പില് നമസ്കരിക്കും.

8. Juda, thy brethren shall praise thee, and thine hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies, and thy father's children shall stoop unto thee.

9. യഹൂദാ ഒരു ബാലസിംഹം; മകനേ, നീ ഇരപിടിച്ചു കയറിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന് കുനിഞ്ഞു, സിംഹംപോലെയും സിംഹിപോലെയും പതുങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്നു; ആര് അവനെ എഴുന്നേല്പിക്കും?

10. The sceptre shall not depart from Juda, nor a ruler from between his legs, until Silo come, unto whom the people shall hearken.

11. He shall bind his foal unto the vine, and his ass's colt unto the vine branch, and shall wash his garment in wine and his mantle in the blood of grapes:

12. അവന്റെ കണ്ണു വീഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു ചുവന്നും അവന്റെ പല്ലു പാലുകൊണ്ടു വെളുത്തും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

12. his eyes are roudier than wine, and his teeth whiter then milk.

13. സെബൂലൂന് സമുദ്രതീരത്തു വസിക്കും; അവന് കപ്പല്തുറമുഖത്തു പാര്ക്കും; അവന്റെ പാര്ശ്വം സീദോന് വരെ ആകും.

13. Zabulon shall dwell in the haven of the sea and in the port of ships, and shall reach unto Sidon.

14. യിസ്സാഖാര് അസ്ഥിബലമുള്ള കഴുത; അവന് തൊഴുത്തുകളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ കിടക്കുന്നു.

14. Isachar is a strong ass, he couched him down between two borders,

15. വിശ്രാമം നല്ലതെന്നും ദേശം ഇമ്പമുള്ളതെന്നും കണ്ടു, അവന് ചുമടിന്നു ചുമല് കൊടുത്തു ഊഴിയത്തിന്നു ദാസനായ്തീര്ന്നു.

15. and saw that rest was good and the land that it was pleasant, and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto tribute.

16. ദാന് ഏതൊരു യിസ്രായേല്യഗോത്രവുംപോലെ സ്വജനത്തിന്നു ന്യായപാലനം ചെയ്യും.

16. Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel.

17. ദാന് വഴിയില് ഒരു പാമ്പും പാതയില് ഒരു സര്പ്പവും ആകുന്നു; അവന് കുതിരയുടെ കുതികാല് കടിക്കും; പുറത്തു കയറിയവന് മലര്ന്നു വീഴും.

17. Dan shall be a serpent in the way, and an adder in the path, and bite the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.

18. യഹോവേ, ഞാന് നിന്റെ രക്ഷക്കായി കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

18. After thy saving look I, LORD.

19. ഗാദോ കവര്ച്ചപ്പട അവനെ ഞെരുക്കും; അവനോ അവരുടെ പിമ്പടയെ ഞെരുക്കും.

19. Gad, men of war shall invade him. And he shall turn them to flight.

20. ആശേരോ, അവന്റെ ആഹാരം പുഷ്ടിയുള്ളതു; അവന് രാജകീയസ്വാദുഭോജനം നലകും.

20. Of Asser cometh fat bread, and he shall give pleasures for a king.

21. നഫ്താലി സ്വതന്ത്രയായി നടക്കുന്ന പേടമാന് ; അവന് ലാവണ്യവാക്കുകള് സംസാരിക്കുന്നു.

21. Nephtali is a swift hind, and giveth goodly words.

22. യോസേഫ് ഫലപ്രദമായോരു വൃക്ഷം, നീരുറവിന്നരികെ ഫലപ്രദമായോരു വൃക്ഷം തന്നേ; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകള് മതിലിന്മേല് പടരുന്നു.

22. That flourishing child Joseph, that flourishing child and goodly unto the eye: the daughters come forth to bear rule.(ran upon the wall.)

23. വില്ലാളികള് അവനെ വിഷമിപ്പിച്ചു; അവര് എയ്തു, അവനോടു പൊരുതു.

23. The shooters have envied him and chide with him and hated him,

24. അവന്റെ വില്ലു ഉറപ്പോടെ നിന്നു; അവന്റെ ഭുജം യാക്കോബിന് വല്ലഭന്റെ കയ്യാല് ബലപ്പെട്ടു; യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പാറയായ ഇടയന്റെ നാമത്താല് തന്നേ.

24. and yet his bow bode fast, and his arms and his hands were strong, by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob: out of him shall come an herdman, a stone in Israel.

25. നിന് പിതാവിന്റെ ദൈവത്താല് - അവന് നിന്നെ സഹായിക്കും സര്വ്വ ശക്തനാല് തന്നേ - അവന് മീതെ ആകാശത്തിന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങളാലും താഴെ കിടക്കുന്ന ആഴത്തിന്റെ അനുഗ്രങ്ങളാലും മുലയുടെയും ഗര്ഭത്തിന്റെയും അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങളാലും നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കും.

25. Thy father's God shall help thee, and the almighty shall bless thee with blessings from heaven above, and with blessings of the water that lieth under, and with blessings of the breasts and of the womb.

26. നിന് പിതാവിന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങള് എന് ജനകന്മാരുടെ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങള്ക്കു മീതെ ശാശ്വതഗിരികളുടെ അറ്റത്തോളം പ്രബലപ്പെട്ടു. അവ യോസേഫിന്റെ തലയിലും തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരില് പ്രഭുവായവന്റെ നെറുകയിലും വരും.

26. The blessings of thy father were strong: even as the blessings of my elders, after the desire of the highest(hiest) in the world, and these blessings shall fall on the head of Joseph, and on the top of the head of him that was separated from his brethren.

27. ബെന്യാമീന് കടിച്ചു കീറുന്ന ചെന്നായി; രാവിലേ അവന് ഇരപിടിച്ചു വിഴുങ്ങും; വൈകുന്നേരത്തു അവന് കവര്ച്ച പങ്കിടും.

27. Ben Jamin is a ravishing wolf. In the morning he shall devour his prey, and at night he shall divide his spoil.

28. യിസ്രായെല് ഗോത്രം പന്ത്രണ്ടും ഇവ ആകുന്നു; അവരുടെ പിതാവു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു ഇതു തന്നേ; അവന് അവരില് ഔരോരുത്തന്നു അവനവന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹം കൊടുത്തു അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

28. All these are the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is that which their father spake unto them when he blessed them, every man with a several blessing.

29. അവന് അവരോടു ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതുഞാന് എന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേരുമ്പോള് നിങ്ങള് ഹിത്യനായ എഫ്രോന്റെ നിലത്തിലെ ഗുഹയില് എന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല് എന്നെ അടക്കേണം.

29. And he charged them and said unto them. I shall be put unto my people: see that ye bury me with my fathers, in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hethite,

30. കനാന് ദേശത്തു മമ്രേക്കു സമീപം, അബ്രാഹാം ഹിത്യനായ എഫ്രോനോടു നിലത്തോടുകൂടെ ശ്മശാനഭൂമിയായി ജന്മം വാങ്ങിയ മക്പേലാ എന്ന നിലത്തിലെ ഗുഹയില് തന്നേ.

30. in the double cave that is in the field before Mamre in the land of Canaan. Which field Abraham bought of Ephron the Hethite for a possession to bury in.

31. അവിടെ അവര് അബ്രാഹാമിനെയും അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ സാറയെയും യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെയും അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ റിബെക്കയെയും അടക്കി; അവിടെ ഞാന് ലേയയെയും അടക്കി.

31. There they buried Abraham and Sara his wife, there they buried Isaac and Rebecca his wife. And there I buried Lea:

32. ആ നിലവും അതിലെ ഗുഹയും ഹിത്യരോടു വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങിയതാകുന്നു.

32. which field and the cave that is therein, was bought of the children of Heth.

33. യാക്കോബ് തന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരോടു ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചു തീര്ന്നശേഷം അവന് കാല് കട്ടിലിന്മേല് എടുത്തു വെച്ചിട്ടു പ്രാണനെവിട്ടു തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേര്ന്നു.

33. When Jacob had commanded all that he would unto his sons, he plucked up his feet upon the bed and died, and was put unto his people;
