1. അനന്തരം ദാവീദ് ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെ ജയിച്ചടക്കി, മൂലസ്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ ഭരണം ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു കരസ്ഥമാക്കി.

1. And it happened afterward, David struck the Philistines and humbled them. And David took The Bridle of the Metropolis out of the hand of the Philistines.

2. അവന് മോവാബ്യരെയും തോല്പിച്ചു അവരെ നിലത്തു കിടത്തി ചരടുകൊണ്ടു അളന്നു; കൊല്ലുവാന് രണ്ടു ചരടും ജീവനോടെ രക്ഷിപ്പാന് ഒരു ചരടുമായി അവന് അളന്നു. അങ്ങനെ മോവാബ്യര് ദാവീദിന്നു ദാസന്മാരായി കപ്പം കൊടുത്തുവന്നു.

2. And he struck Moab, and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground. Even with two lines he measured to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And the Moabites became David's servants, bringing gifts.

3. രെഹോബിന്റെ മകനായി സോബരാജാവായ ഹദദേസെര് നദീതീരത്തുള്ള തന്റെ ആധിപത്യം യഥാസ്ഥാനപ്പെടുത്തുവാന് പോയപ്പോള് ദാവീദ് അവനെ തോല്പിച്ചു.

3. David also struck Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his border at the river Euphrates.

4. അവന്റെ വക ആയിരത്തെഴുനൂറു കുതിരച്ചേവകരെയും ഇരുപതിനായിരം കാലാളുകളെയും ദാവീദ് പിടിച്ചു; രഥകൂതിരകളില് നൂറു മാത്രംവെച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു ശേഷം കുതിരകളെ ഒക്കെയും കുതിഞരമ്പു വെട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

4. And David took from him seventeen hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen. And David hamstrung all the chariot horses but kept enough of them for a hundred chariots.

5. സോബരാജാവായ ഹദദേസെരിനെ സഹായിപ്പാന് ദമ്മേശെക്കിനോടു ചേര്ന്ന അരാമ്യര് വന്നപ്പോള് ദാവീദ് അരാമ്യരില് ഇരുപത്തീരായിരംപേരെ സംഹരിച്ചു.

5. And when the Syrians of Damascus came to rescue Hadadezer king of Zobah, David killed twenty-two thousand men of the Syrians.

6. പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് ദമ്മേശെക്കിനോടു ചേര്ന്ന അരാമില് കാവല്പട്ടാളങ്ങളെ പാര്പ്പിച്ചു; അരാമ്യരും ദാവീദിന്നു ദാസന്മാരായിത്തീര്ന്നു കപ്പം കൊടുത്തുവന്നു. ഇങ്ങനെ ദാവീദ് ചെന്നേടത്തൊക്കെയും യഹോവ അവന്നു ജയം നല്കി.

6. And David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus. And the Syrians became servants to David, bringing gifts. And Jehovah preserved David wherever he went.

7. ഹദദേസെരിന്റെ ഭൃധത്യന്മാര്ക്കും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന പൊന് പരിചകളെ ദാവീദ് എടുത്തു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

7. And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.

8. ഹദദേസെരിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളായ ബേതഹില്നിന്നും ബെരോതായില്നിന്നും ദാവീദ്രാജാവു അനവധി താമ്രവും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

8. And from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, King David took very much bronze.

9. ദാവീദ് ഹദദേസെരിന്റെ സര്വ്വസൈന്യത്തെയും തോല്പിച്ചു എന്നു ഹമാത്ത്രാജാവായ തോയി കേട്ടപ്പോള്

9. And Toi king of Hamath heard that David had struck all the army of Hadadezer.

10. ദാവീദ്രാജാവിനോടു കുശലം ചോദിപ്പാനും അവന് ഹദദേസെരിനോടു യുദ്ധംചെയ്തു അവനെ തോല്പിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവനെ അഭിനന്ദിപ്പാനും തോയി തന്റെ മകന് യോരാമിനെ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചു; ഹദദേസെരിന്നു തോയിയോടു കൂടക്കൂടെ യുദ്ധമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. യോരാം വെള്ളി, പൊന്നു, താമ്രം എന്നിവകൊണ്ടുള്ള സാധനങ്ങളെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

10. Then Toi sent Joram his son to King David, to greet him and bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and had struck him. For Hadadezer had wars against Toi. And in his hand were silver articles, and golden articles, and bronze articles.

11. ദാവീദ്രാജാവു ഇവയെ അരാമ്യര്, മോവാബ്യര്, അമ്മോന്യര്, ഫെലിസ്ത്യര്, അമാലേക്യര് എന്നിങ്ങനെ താന് കീഴടക്കിയ സകല ജാതികളുടെയും പക്കല്നിന്നും

11. King David also dedicated them to Jehovah, with the silver and gold that he had dedicated from all nations which he subdued:

12. രെഹോബിന്റെ മകനായി സോബരാജാവായ ഹദദേസെരിന്റെ കൊള്ളയില്നിന്നും എടുത്തു വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ച വെള്ളിയോടും പൊന്നിനോടും കൂടെ യഹോവേക്കു വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു.

12. of Syria, and of Moab, and of the sons of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.

13. പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് ഉപ്പുതാഴ്വരയില്വെച്ചു പതിനെണ്ണായിരം അരാമ്യരെ സംഹരിച്ചു മടങ്ങിവന്നപ്പോള് തനിക്കു കീര്ത്തി സമ്പാദിച്ചു.

13. And David made a name for himself when he returned from striking the Syrians in the Valley of Salt, eighteen thousand men.

14. അവന് എദോമില് കാവല്പട്ടാളങ്ങളെ ആക്കി; എദോമില് എല്ലാടത്തും അവന് കാവല്പട്ടാളങ്ങളെ പാര്പ്പിച്ചു; എദോമ്യരൊക്കെയും ദാവീദിന്നു ദാസന്മാരായിത്തീര്ന്നു; ദാവീദ് ചെന്നേടത്തൊക്കെയും യഹോവ അവന്നു ജയം നല്കി.

14. And he put garrisons in Edom. He put garrisons throughout all Edom, and all the men of Edom became David's servants. And Jehovah preserved David wherever he went.

15. ഇങ്ങനെ ദാവീദ് എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിനെയും വാണു; ദാവീദ് തന്റെ സകലജനത്തിന്നും നീതിയും ന്യായവും നടത്തിക്കൊടുത്തു.

15. And David reigned over all Israel. And David did judgment and justice to all his people.

16. സെരൂയയുടെ മകന് യോവാബ് സേനാധിപതിയും അഹീലൂദിന്റെ മകന് യെഹോശാഫാത് മന്ത്രിയും ആയിരുന്നു.

16. And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army. And Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder.

17. അഹീതൂബിന്റെ മകന് സാദോക്കും അബ്യാഥാരിന്റെ മകന് അഹീമേലെക്കും പുരോഹിതന്മാരും സെരായാ രായസക്കാരനും ആയിരുന്നു.

17. And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests. And Seraiah was the scribe.

18. യഹോയാദയുടെ മകന് ബെനായാവു ക്രേത്യര്ക്കും പ്ളേത്യര്ക്കും അധിപതി ആയിരുന്നു; ദാവീദിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരോ പുരോഹിതന്മാരായിരുന്നു.

18. And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites. And David's sons were priests.
