1. ശെബാരാജ്ഞി ശലോമോന്റെ കീര്ത്തികേട്ടിട്ടു കടമൊഴികളാല് ശലോമോനെ പരീക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അതിമഹത്തായ പരിവാരത്തോടും സുഗന്ധവര്ഗ്ഗവും അനവധി പൊന്നും രത്നവും ചുമന്ന ഒട്ടകങ്ങളോടും കൂടെ യെരൂശലേമില് വന്നു; അവള് ശലോമോന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നശേഷം തന്റെ മനോരഥം ഒക്കെയും അവനോടു പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു.

1. Now the queen of Sheba heard [of] the name of Solomon, and she came to Jerusalem with a very large entourage, to test Solomon with hard questions, and [she had] camels bearing spices in abundance, and gold, and precious stones. And she came to Solomon, and told him all that was in her mind.

2. അവളുടെ സകലചോദ്യങ്ങള്ക്കും ശലോമോന് സമാധാനം പറഞ്ഞു; സമാധാനം പറവാന് കഴിയാതെ ഒന്നും ശലോമോന്നു മറപൊരുളായിരുന്നില്ല.

2. And Solomon answered all her questions; and there passed not a word from Solomon which he told her not.

3. ശെബാരാജ്ഞി ശലോമോന്റെ ജ്ഞാനവും അവന് പണിത അരമനയും

3. And the queen of Sheba saw the wisdom of Solomon, and the house which he had built,

4. അവന്റെ മേശയിലെ ഭക്ഷണവും അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരുടെ ഇരിപ്പും അവന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷകന്മാരുടെ നിലയും അവരുടെ ഉടുപ്പും അവന്റെ പാനപാത്രവാഹകന്മാരെയും അവരുടെ ഉടുപ്പിനെയും യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കുള്ള അവന്റെ എഴുന്നെള്ളത്തും കണ്ടിട്ടു അമ്പരന്നുപോയി.

4. and the food on his tables, and the sitting of his servants, and the standing of his ministers, and their garments; and his cupbearers, and their apparel; and the whole burnt offerings which he offered up in the house of the Lord; and she marveled.

5. അവള് രാജാവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാല്നിന്റെ കാര്യങ്ങളെയും ജ്ഞാനത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു ഞാന് എന്റെ ദേശത്തുവെച്ചു കേട്ട വര്ത്തമാനം സത്യംതന്നേ;

5. And she said to the king, [It was] a true report which I heard in my land concerning your words, and concerning your wisdom.

6. ഞാന് വന്നു സ്വന്തകണ്ണുകൊണ്ടു കാണുംവരെ ആ വര്ത്തമാനം വിശ്വസിച്ചില്ല; എന്നാല് നിന്റെ ജ്ഞാനമാഹാത്മ്യത്തിന്റെ പാതിപോലും ഞാന് അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നില്ല, ഞാന് കേട്ട കേള്വിയെക്കാള് നീ ശ്രേഷ്ഠനാകുന്നു.

6. Yet I believed not the reports until I came, and my eyes saw; and behold, the half of the abundance of your wisdom was not told me! You have exceeded the report which I heard.

7. നിന്റെ ഭാര്യമാര് ഭാഗ്യവതികള്; നിന്റെ മുമ്പില് എല്ലായ്പോഴും നിന്നു നിന്റെ ജ്ഞാനം കേള്ക്കുന്ന ഈ നിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരും ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാര്.

7. Blessed [are] your men, blessed [are] these your servants, who stand before you continually, and hear your wisdom.

8. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു വേണ്ടി രാജാവായിട്ടു തന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തില് നിന്നെ ഇരുത്തുവാന് നിന്നില് പ്രസാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവന് ; നിന്റെ ദൈവം യിസ്രായേലിനെ എന്നേക്കും നിലനിലക്കുമാറാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരെ സ്നേഹിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു നീതിയും ന്യായവും നടത്തുവാന് നിന്നെ അവര്ക്കും രാജാവാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

8. Blessed be the Lord your God, who took pleasure in you, to set you upon His throne for a king, to the Lord your God; forasmuch as the Lord your God loved Israel to establish them forever, therefore He has set you over them for a king, to execute judgment and justice.

9. അവള് രാജാവിന്നു നൂറ്റിരുപതു താലന്തു പൊന്നും അനവധി സുഗന്ധവര്ഗ്ഗവും രത്നവും കൊടുത്തു; ശെബാരാജ്ഞി ശലോമോന് രാജാവിന്നു കൊടുത്തതുപോലെയുള്ള സുഗന്ധവര്ഗ്ഗം പിന്നെ ഉണ്ടായിട്ടില്ല.

9. And she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in very great abundance, and precious stones; and there were not [any where else] such spices as those which the queen of Sheba gave King Solomon.

10. ഔഫീരില്നിന്നു പൊന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന ഹൂരാമിന്റെ ദാസന്മാരും ശലോമോന്റെ ദാസന്മാരും ചന്ദനവും രത്നവും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

10. And the servants of Solomon and the servants of Hiram brought gold to Solomon out of Ophir, and pine timber, and precious stones.

11. രാജാവു ചന്ദനമരംകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്നും രാജധാനിക്കും അഴികളും സംഗീതക്കാര്ക്കും കിന്നരങ്ങളും വീണകളും ഉണ്ടാക്കി; ഈ വക പണ്ടു യെഹൂദാദേശത്തു അശേഷം കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല.

11. And the king made of the pine timber steps to the house of the Lord, and to the king's house, and harps and lutes for the singers; and such were not seen before in the land of Judah.

12. ശെബാരാജ്ഞി രാജാവിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്നതില് പരമായി അവള് ആഗ്രഹിച്ചതും ചോദിച്ചതുമൊക്കെയും ശലോമോന് രാജാവു അവള്ക്കു കൊടുത്തു; അങ്ങനെ അവള് തന്റെ ബൃത്യന്മാരുമായി സ്വദേശത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

12. And King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all that she requested, even [much more than] she brought to King Solomon. And she returned to her [own] land.

13. സഞ്ചാരവ്യാപാരികളും കച്ചവടക്കാരും കൊണ്ടുവന്നതു കൂടാതെ ശലോമോന്നു ഔരോ ആണ്ടില് വന്നിരുന്ന പൊന്നിന്റെ തൂക്കം അറുനൂറ്ററുപത്താറു താലന്തു ആയിരുന്നു.

13. And the weight of the gold that was brought to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold,

14. അരാബ്യരാജാക്കന്മാരൊക്കെയും ദേശാധിപതിമാരും ശലോമോന്നു പൊന്നും വെള്ളിയും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

14. besides what the men who were regularly appointed and the merchants brought, and all the kings of Arabia and princes of the land: all brought gold and silver to King Solomon.

15. ശലോമോന് രാജാവു പൊമ്പലകകൊണ്ടു ഇരുനൂറു വന് പരിച ഉണ്ടാക്കി; ഔരോപരിചെക്കു അറുനൂറു ശേക്കെല് പൊന് പലക ചെലവായി.

15. And King Solomon made two hundred shields of hammered gold; there were six hundred [shekels] of pure gold to one shield.

16. അവന് പൊന് പലക കൊണ്ടു മുന്നൂറു ചെറുപരിചയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി; ഔരോ ചെറുപരിചെക്കു മുന്നൂറു ശേക്കെല് പൊന്നു ചെലവായി. രാജാവു അവയെ ലെബാനോന് വനഗൃഹത്തില്വെച്ചു.

16. And three hundred buckles of hammered gold; [the weight] of three hundred gold shekels went to one buckler. And the king placed them in the house of the Forest of Lebanon.

17. രാജാവു ദന്തംകൊണ്ടു ഒരു വലിയ സിംഹാസനം ഉണ്ടാക്കി തങ്കംകൊണ്ടു പൊതിഞ്ഞു.

17. And the king made a great throne of ivory, and he gilded it with pure gold.

18. സിംഹാസനത്തോടു ചേര്ത്തുറപ്പിച്ചതായി ആറു പതനവും പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു ഒരു പാദപീഠവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ഇരിപ്പിടത്തിന്റെ ഇരുഭാഗത്തും ഔരോ കൈത്താങ്ങലും കൈത്താങ്ങലിന്നരികെ നിലക്കുന്ന രണ്ടു സിംഹവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

18. And [there were] six steps to the throne, riveted with gold, and elbows on either side of the seat of the throne, and two lions standing by the elbows;

19. ആറു പതനത്തില് ഇപ്പുറത്തും അപ്പുറത്തുമായി പന്ത്രണ്ടു സിംഹം നിന്നിരുന്നു. ഒരു രാജ്യത്തും ഇങ്ങനെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.

19. and twelve lions standing there on the six steps on each side. There was not the like in any [other] kingdom.

20. ശലോമോന് രാജാവിന്റെ സകലപാനപാത്രങ്ങളും പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടും ലെബാനോന് ഗൃഹത്തിലെ ഉപകരണങ്ങളൊക്കെയും തങ്കംകൊണ്ടും ആയിരുന്നു; വെള്ളിക്കു ശലോമോന്റെ കാലത്തു വിലയില്ലായിരുന്നു.

20. And all King Solomon's vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the Forest of Lebanon were covered with gold: silver was not regarded as anything in the days of Solomon.

21. രാജാവിന്റെ കപ്പലുകളെ ഹൂരാമിന്റെ ദാസന്മരോടുകൂടെ തര്ശീശിലേക്കു അയച്ചിരുന്നു; മൂവാണ്ടിലൊരിക്കല് തര്ശീശ് കപ്പലുകള് പൊന്നു, വെള്ളി, ആനക്കൊമ്പു, കുരങ്ങു, മയില് എന്നിവയെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

21. For a ship went for the king to Tarshish with the servants of Hiram. Once every three years vessels came from Tarshish to the king, laden with gold, silver, ivory, and apes.

22. ഇങ്ങനെ ശലോമോന് രാജാവു ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലരാജാക്കന്മാരിലുംവെച്ചു ധനംകൊണ്ടും ജ്ഞാനംകൊണ്ടും മികെച്ചവനായിരുന്നു.

22. And Solomon exceeded all [other] kings both in riches and wisdom.

23. ദൈവം ശലോമോന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് കൊടുത്ത ജ്ഞാനം കേള്പ്പാന് ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലരാജാക്കന്മാരും അവന്റെ മുഖദര്ശനം അന്വേഷിച്ചുവന്നു.

23. And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

24. അവരില് ഔരോരുത്തനും ആണ്ടുതോറും താന്താന്റെ കാഴ്ചയായിട്ടു വെള്ളിപ്പാത്രം, പൊന് പാത്രം, വസ്ത്രം, ആയുധം, സുഗന്ധവര്ഗ്ഗം, കുതിര, കോവര് കഴുത എന്നിവയെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

24. And everyone brought their gifts-silver vessels and golden vessels, clothing, myrrh, spices, horses and mules, a set rate every year.

25. ശലോമോന്നു കുതിരകള്ക്കും രഥങ്ങള്ക്കും നാലായിരം ലായവും പന്തീരായിരം കുതിരച്ചേവകരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവരെ അവന് രഥനഗരങ്ങളിലും യെരൂശലേമില് രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കലും പാര്പ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.

25. And Solomon had four thousand mares for chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; and he put them in the chariot cities, and with the king in Jerusalem.

26. അവന് നദി മുതല് ഫെലിസ്ത്യദേശംവരെയും മിസ്രയീമിന്റെ അതൃത്തിവരെയും ഉള്ള സകലരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെമേലും വാണു.

26. And he ruled over all the kings from the river, even to the land of the Philistines, and to the borders of Egypt.

27. രാജാവു യെരൂശലേമില് വെള്ളിയെ പെരുപ്പംകൊണ്ടു കല്ലുപോലെയും ദേവദാരുവിനെ താഴ്വീതിയിലെ കാട്ടത്തിമരംപോലെയും ആക്കി.

27. And the king made gold and silver in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars as the sycamore trees in the plain for abundance.

28. മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നും സകലദേശങ്ങളില്നിന്നും ശലോമോന്നു കുതിരകളെ വാങ്ങി കൊണ്ടുവരും.

28. And Solomon imported horses from Egypt, and from every [other] country.

29. ശലോമോന്റെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങള് ആദ്യാവസാനം നാഥാന് പ്രവാചകന്റെ വൃത്താന്തത്തിലും ശീലോന്യനായ അഹീയാവിന്റെ പ്രവാചകത്തിലും നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാമിനെപ്പറ്റിയുള്ള ഇദ്ദോ ദര്ശകന്റെ ദര്ശനങ്ങളിലും എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

29. And the rest of the acts of Solomon, the first and the last, behold, these are written in the words of Nathan the prophet, and in the words of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Joel the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

30. ശലോമോന് യെരൂശലേമില് എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്നും നാല്പതു സംവത്സരം രാജാവായിരുന്നു.

30. And Solomon reigned over all Israel forty years.

31. പിന്നെ ശലോമോന് തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു; അവനെ തന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തില് അടക്കം ചെയ്തു; അവന്റെ മകനായ രെഹബെയാം അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

31. And Solomon fell asleep, and they buried him in the City of David his father. And Rehoboam his son reigned in his place.
