1. അതിന്റെശേഷം പാര്സിരാജാവായ അര്ത്ഥഹ് ശഷ്ടാവിന്റെ വാഴ്ചകാലത്തു എസ്രാ ബാബേലില്നിന്നു വന്നു. അവന് സെരായാവിന്റെ മകന് ; അവന് അസര്യ്യാവിന്റെ മകന് ; അവന് ഹില്ക്കീയാവിന്റെ മകന് ;

1. Now after these things, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra the son of Seraiah, the son of Azariah, the son of Hilkiah,

2. അവന് ശല്ലൂമിന്റെ മകന് ; അവന് സാദോക്കിന്റെ മകന് ; അവന് അഹീത്തൂബിന്റെ മകന് ;

2. The son of Shallum, the son of Zadok, the son of Ahitub,

3. The son of Amariah, the son of Azariah, the son of Meraioth,

4. The son of Zerahiah, the son of Uzzi, the son of Bukki,

5. The son of Abishua, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the chief priest:

6. ഈ എസ്രാ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നല്കിയ മോശെയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തില് വിദഗ്ദ്ധനായ ശാസ്ത്രി ആയിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ കൈ അവന്നു അനുകൂലമായിരിക്കയാല് രാജാവു അവന്റെ അപേക്ഷ ഒക്കെയും അവന്നു നല്കി.

6. This Ezra went up from Babylon; and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given: and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God on him.

7. അവനോടുകൂടെ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളിലും പുരോഹിതന്മാരിലും ലേവ്യരിലും സംഗീതക്കാരിലും വാതില്കാവല്ക്കാരിലും ദൈവാലയദാസന്മാരിലും ചിലര് അര്ത്ഥഹ് ശഷ്ടാരാജാവിന്റെ ഏഴാം ആണ്ടില് യെരൂശലേമില് വന്നു.

7. And there went up some of the children of Israel, and of the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, to Jerusalem, in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king.

8. അഞ്ചാം മാസത്തില് ആയിരുന്നു അവന് യെരൂശലേമില് വന്നതു; അതു രാജാവിന്റെ ഏഴാം ആണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

8. And he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king.

9. ഒന്നാം മാസം ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതി അവന് ബാബേലില്നിന്നു യാത്ര പുറപ്പെട്ടു; തന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കൈ തനിക്കു അനുകൂലമായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവന് അഞ്ചാം മാസം ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതി യെരൂശലേമില് എത്തി.

9. For on the first day of the first month began he to go up from Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month came he to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God on him.

10. യഹോവയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം പരിശോധിപ്പാനും അതു അനുസരിച്ചു നടപ്പാനും യിസ്രായേലില് അതിന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളും വിധികളും ഉപദേശിപ്പാനും എസ്രാ മനസ്സുവെച്ചിരുന്നു.

10. For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.

11. യിസ്രായേലിനോടുള്ള യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനകളുടെയും ചട്ടങ്ങളുടെയും വാക്യങ്ങളില് വിദഗ്ദ്ധശാസ്ത്രീയായ എസ്രാപുരോഹിതന്നു അര്ത്ഥഹ് ശഷ്ടാരാജാവു കൊടുത്ത എഴുത്തിന്റെ പകര്പ്പാവിതു

11. Now this is the copy of the letter that the king Artaxerxes gave to Ezra the priest, the scribe, even a scribe of the words of the commandments of the LORD, and of his statutes to Israel.

12. രാജാധിരാജാവായ അര്ത്ഥഹ് ശഷ്ടാവു സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തില് ശാസ്ത്രീയായ എസ്രാപുരോഹിതന്നു എഴുതുന്നതുഇത്യാദി.

12. Artaxerxes, king of kings, to Ezra the priest, a scribe of the law of the God of heaven, perfect peace, and at such a time.

13. നമ്മുടെ രാജ്യത്തുള്ള യിസ്രായേല്ജനത്തിലും അവന്റെ പുരോഹിതന്മാരിലും ലേവ്യരിലും യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു പോകുവാന് മനസ്സുള്ള ഏവനും നിന്നോടുകൂടെ പോരുന്നതിന്നു ഞാന് കല്പന കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

13. I make a decree, that all they of the people of Israel, and of his priests and Levites, in my realm, which are minded of their own freewill to go up to Jerusalem, go with you.

14. നിന്റെ കൈവശം ഇരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണപ്രകാരം യെഹൂദയിലെയും യെരൂശലേമിലെയും കാര്യം അന്വേഷിപ്പാനും രാജാവും അവന്റെ മന്ത്രിമാരും

14. For as much as you are sent of the king, and of his seven counsellors, to inquire concerning Judah and Jerusalem, according to the law of your God which is in your hand;

15. യെരൂശലേമില് അധിവസിക്കുന്ന യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്നു ഔദാര്യമായി കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും,

15. And to carry the silver and gold, which the king and his counsellors have freely offered to the God of Israel, whose habitation is in Jerusalem,

16. ബാബേല് സംസ്ഥാനത്തുനിന്നൊക്കെയും നിനക്കു ലഭിക്കുന്ന വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും എല്ലാം യെരൂശലേമില് തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയം വകെക്കു ജനവും പുരോഹിതന്മാരും തരുന്ന ഔദാര്യദാനങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ കൊണ്ടുപോകുവാനും രാജാവും അവന്റെ ഏഴു മന്ത്രിമാരും നിന്നെ അയക്കുന്നു.

16. And all the silver and gold that you can find in all the province of Babylon, with the freewill offering of the people, and of the priests, offering willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem:

17. ആകയാല് നീ ജാഗ്രതയോടെ ആ ദ്രവ്യംകൊണ്ടു കാളകളെയും ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന്മാരെയും കുഞ്ഞാടുകളെയും അവേക്കു വേണ്ടുന്ന ഭോജനയാഗങ്ങളെയും പാനീയയാഗങ്ങളെയും മേടിച്ചു യെരൂശലേമിലുള്ള നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിലെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് അര്പ്പിക്കേണം.

17. That you may buy speedily with this money bullocks, rams, lambs, with their meat offerings and their drink offerings, and offer them on the altar of the house of your God which is in Jerusalem.

18. ശേഷിപ്പുള്ള വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നുംകൊണ്ടു ചെയ്വാന് നിനക്കും നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാര്ക്കും യുക്തമെന്നു തോന്നുംപോലെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്നു പ്രസാദമാകുംവണ്ണം ചെയ്തുകൊള്വിന് .

18. And whatever shall seem good to you, and to your brothers, to do with the rest of the silver and the gold, that do after the will of your God.

19. നിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിലെ ശുശ്രൂഷെക്കായിട്ടു നിന്റെ കൈവശം തന്നിരിക്കുന്ന ഉപകരണങ്ങളും നീ യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് ഏല്പിക്കേണം.

19. The vessels also that are given you for the service of the house of your God, those deliver you before the God of Jerusalem.

20. നിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിന്നു പിന്നെയും ആവശ്യമുള്ളതായി കൊടുക്കേണ്ടിവരുന്നതു നീ രാജാവിന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരഗൃഹത്തില്നിന്നു കൊടുത്തു കൊള്ളേണം.

20. And whatever more shall be needful for the house of your God, which you shall have occasion to bestow, bestow it out of the king's treasure house.

21. അര്ത്ഥഹ് ശഷ്ടാരാജാവായ നാം നദിക്കു അക്കരെയുള്ള സകലഭണ്ഡാരവിചാരകന്മാര്ക്കും കല്പന കൊടുക്കുന്നതെന്തെന്നാല്സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തില് ശാസ്ത്രിയായ എസ്രാപുരോഹിതന് നിങ്ങളോടു ചോദിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും നൂറു താലന്ത് വെള്ളിയും നൂറു കോര് കോതമ്പും നൂറു ബത്ത് വീഞ്ഞും നൂറു ബത്ത് എണ്ണയുംവരെയും

21. And I, even I Artaxerxes the king, do make a decree to all the treasurers which are beyond the river, that whatever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, shall require of you, it be done speedily,

22. ഉപ്പു വേണ്ടുംപോലെയും ജാഗ്രതയോടെ കൊടുക്കേണം.

22. To an hundred talents of silver, and to an hundred measures of wheat, and to an hundred baths of wine, and to an hundred baths of oil, and salt without prescribing how much.

23. രാജാവിന്റെയും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെയും രാജ്യത്തിന്മേല് ക്രോധം വരാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കല്പനപ്രകാരം സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിന്നു അവകാശമുള്ളതൊക്കെയും കൃത്യമായി ചെയ്യേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.

23. Whatever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be diligently done for the house of the God of heaven: for why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons?

24. പുരോഹിതന്മാര്, ലേവ്യര്, സംഗീതക്കാര്, വാതില്കാവല്ക്കാര്, ദൈവാലയദാസന്മാര് എന്നിവര്ക്കും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഈ ആലയത്തില് ശുശ്രൂഷിക്കുന്ന യാതൊരുത്തന്നും കരമോ നികുതിയോ ചുങ്കമോ ചുമത്തുന്നതു വിഹിതമല്ല എന്നും നാം നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അറിവുതരുന്നു.

24. Also we certify you, that touching any of the priests and Levites, singers, porters, Nethinims, or ministers of this house of God, it shall not be lawful to impose toll, tribute, or custom, on them.

25. നീയോ എസ്രയേ, നിനക്കു നിന്റെ ദൈവം നല്കിയ ജ്ഞാനപ്രകാരം നദിക്കക്കരെ പാര്ക്കുംന്ന സകലജനത്തിന്നും, നിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണങ്ങളെ അറിയുന്ന ഏവര്ക്കും തന്നേ, ന്യായം പാലിച്ചുകൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അധികാരികളെയും ന്യായാധിപന്മാരെയും നിയമിക്കേണം; അറിയാത്തവര്ക്കോ നിങ്ങള് അവയെ ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊടക്കേണം.

25. And you, Ezra, after the wisdom of your God, that is in your hand, set magistrates and judges, which may judge all the people that are beyond the river, all such as know the laws of your God; and teach you them that know them not.

26. എന്നാല് നിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണവും രാജാവിന്റെ ന്യയാപ്രമാണവും അനുസരിക്കാത്ത ഏവനെയും ജാഗ്രതയോടെ ന്യായം വിസ്തരിച്ചു മരണമോ പ്രവാസമോ പിഴയോ തടവോ അവന്നു കല്പിക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.

26. And whoever will not do the law of your God, and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily on him, whether it be to death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment.

27. യെരൂശലേമിലെ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തെ അലങ്കരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇങ്ങനെ രാജാവിന്നു തോന്നിക്കയും രാജാവിന്റെയും അവന്റെ മന്ത്രിമാരുടെയും രാജാവിന്റെ സകല പ്രഭുവീരന്മാരുടെയും ദയ എനിക്കു ലഭിക്കുമാറാക്കുകയും ചെയ്ത നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവന് .

27. Blessed be the LORD God of our fathers, which has put such a thing as this in the king's heart, to beautify the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem:

28. ഇങ്ങനെ എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ കൈ എനിക്കു അനുകൂലമായിരുന്നതിനാല് ഞാന് ധൈര്യപ്പെട്ടു എന്നോടുകൂടെ പോരേണ്ടതിന്നു യിസ്രായേലിലെ ചില തലവന്മാരെ കൂട്ടിവരുത്തി.

28. And has extended mercy to me before the king, and his counsellors, and before all the king's mighty princes. And I was strengthened as the hand of the LORD my God was on me, and I gathered together out of Israel chief men to go up with me.
