1. അതിന്നു ഇയ്യോബ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. Then Job answered, and said:

2. ഞാന് ഈവക പലതും കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടു; നിങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും വ്യസനിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ആശ്വാസകന്മാര്.

2. I have often heard such things as these: you are all troublesome comforters.

3. വ്യര്ത്ഥവാക്കുകള്ക്കു അവസാനം ഉണ്ടാകുമോ? അല്ല, പ്രതിവാദിപ്പാന് നിന്നെ ചൊടിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?

3. Shall windy words have no end? or is it any trouble to thee to speak?

4. നിങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ ഞാനും സംസാരിക്കാം; എനിക്കുള്ള അനുഭവം നിങ്ങള്ക്കുണ്ടായിരുന്നുവെങ്കില് എനിക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ നേരെ മൊഴികളെ യോജിപ്പിക്കയും നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു തല കുലുക്കുകയും ചെയ്യാമായിരുന്നു.

4. I also could speak like you: and would God your soul were for my soul.

5. ഞാന് വായികൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളെ ധൈര്യപ്പെടുത്തുകയും അധരസാന്ത്വനംകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുമായിരുന്നു.

5. I would comfort you also with words, and would wag my head over you.

6. ഞാന് സംസാരിച്ചാലും എന്റെ വേദന ശമിക്കുന്നില്ല; ഞാന് അടങ്ങിയിരുന്നാലും എനിക്കെന്തു ആശ്വാസമുള്ളു?

6. I would strengthen you with my mouth, and would move my lips, as sparing you.

7. ഇപ്പോഴോ അവന് എന്നെ ക്ഷീണിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ എന്റെ ബന്ധുവര്ഗ്ഗത്തെയൊക്കെയും ശൂന്യമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

7. But what shall I do? If I speak, my pain will not rest: and if I hold my peace, it will not depart from me.

8. നീ എന്നെ പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു എന്റെ നേരെ സാക്ഷ്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ മെലിച്ചല് എനിക്കു വിരോധമായെഴുന്നേറ്റു എന്റെ മുഖത്തു നോക്കി സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നു.

8. But now my sorrow hath oppressed me, and all my limbs are brought to nothing.

9. അവന് കോപത്തില് എന്നെ കീറി ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്നു; അവന് എന്റെ നേരെ പല്ലു കടിക്കുന്നു; ശത്രു എന്റെ നേരെ കണ്ണു കൂര്പ്പിക്കുന്നു.

9. My wrinkles bear witness against me, and a false speaker riseth up against my face, contradicting me.

10. അവര് എന്റെ നേരെ വായ്പിളര്ക്കുംന്നു; നിന്ദയോടെ അവര് എന്റെ ചെകിട്ടത്തടിക്കുന്നു; അവര് എനിക്കു വിരോധമായി കൂട്ടം കൂടുന്നു.

10. He hath gathered together his fury against me, and threatening me he hath gnashed with his teeth upon me: my enemy hath beheld me with terrible eyes.

11. ദൈവം എന്നെ അഭക്തന്റെ പക്കല് ഏല്പിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ കയ്യില് എന്നെ അകപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.

11. They have opened their mouths upon me, and reproaching me they have struck me on the cheek, they are filled with my pains.

12. ഞാന് സ്വൈരമായി വസിച്ചിരുന്നു; അവനോ എന്നെ ചതെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; അവന് എന്നെ പിടരിക്കു പിടിച്ചു തകര്ത്തുകളഞ്ഞു; എന്നെ തനിക്കു ലാക്കാക്കി നിര്ത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. God hath shut me up with the unjust man, and hath delivered me into the hands of the wicked.

13. അവന്റെ അസ്ത്രങ്ങള് എന്റെ ചുറ്റും വീഴുന്നു; അവന് ആദരിക്കാതെ എന്റെ അന്തര്ഭാഗങ്ങളെ പിളര്ക്കുംന്നു; എന്റെ പിത്തത്തെ നിലത്തു ഒഴിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.

13. I that was formerly so wealthy, am all on a sudden broken to pieces: he hath taken me by my neck, he hath broken me, and hath set me up to be his mark.

14. അവന് എന്നെ ഇടിച്ചിടിച്ചു തകര്ക്കുംന്നു; മല്ലനെപ്പോലെ എന്റെ നേരെ പായുന്നു.

14. He hath compassed me round about with his lances, he hath wounded my loins, he hath not spared, and hath poured out my bowels on the earth.

15. ഞാന് രട്ടു എന്റെ ത്വക്കിന്മേല് കൂട്ടിത്തുന്നി, എന്റെ കൊമ്പിനെ പൊടിയില് ഇട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

15. He hath torn me with wound upon wound, he hath rushed in upon me like a giant.

16. കരഞ്ഞു കരഞ്ഞു എന്റെ മുഖം ചുവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ കണ്ണിന്മേല് അന്ധതമസ്സു കിടക്കുന്നു.

16. I have sowed sackcloth upon my skin, and have covered my flesh with ashes.

17. എങ്കിലും സാഹസം എന്റെ കൈകളില് ഇല്ല. എന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന നിര്മ്മലമത്രേ.

17. My face is swollen with weeping, and my eyelids are dim.

18. അയ്യോ ഭൂമിയേ, എന്റെ രക്തം മൂടരുതേ; എന്റെ നിലവിളി എങ്ങും തടഞ്ഞുപോകരുതേ.

18. These things have I suffered without the iniquity of my hand, when I offered pure prayers to God.

19. ഇപ്പോഴും എന്റെ സാക്ഷി സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലും എന്റെ ജാമ്യക്കാരന് ഉയരത്തിലും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

19. O earth, cover not thou my blood, neither let my cry find a hiding place in thee.

20. എന്റെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാര് എന്നെ പരിഹസിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ കണ്ണോ ദൈവത്തിങ്കലേക്കു കണ്ണുനീര് പൊഴിക്കുന്നു.

20. For behold my witness is in heaven, and he that knoweth my conscience is on high.

21. അവന് മനുഷ്യന്നു വേണ്ടി ദൈവത്തോടും മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്നു വേണ്ടി അവന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനോടും ന്യായവാദം കഴിക്കും.

21. My friends are full of words: my eye poureth out tears to God.

22. ചില ആണ്ടു കഴിയുമ്പോഴേക്കു ഞാന് മടങ്ങിവരാത്ത പാതെക്കു പോകേണ്ടിവരുമല്ലോ.

22. And O that a man might so be judged with God, as the son of man is judged with his companion!
