1. പാറയിലെ കാട്ടാടുകളുടെ പ്രസവകാലം നിനക്കറിയാമോ? മാന് പേടകളുടെ ഈറ്റുനോവു നീ കാണുമോ?

1. Do you know when mountain goats give birth? Have you seen deer in labor?

2. അവേക്കു ഗര്ഭം തികയുന്ന മാസം നിനക്കു കണകൂ കൂട്ടാമോ? അവയുടെ പ്രസവകാലം നിനക്കു അറിയാമോ?

2. Can you tell how many months they carry their young? Do you know when they give birth,

3. അവ കുനിഞ്ഞു കുട്ടികളെ പ്രസവിക്കുന്നു; ക്ഷണത്തില് വേദന കഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നു.

3. when they crouch down and bring forth their young, when they deliver their fawns?

4. അവയുടെ കുട്ടികള് ബലപ്പെട്ടു കാട്ടില് വളരുന്നു; അവ പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോകുന്നു; മടങ്ങിവരുന്നതുമില്ല.

4. Their young become strong, growing up in the open; they leave and never return.

5. കാട്ടുകഴുതയെ അഴിച്ചുവിട്ടതു ആര്? വനഗര്ദ്ദഭത്തെ കെട്ടഴിച്ചതാര്?

11. Would you trust its great strength enough to let it do your heavy work,

12. or rely on it to bring home your seed and gather the grain from your threshing-floor?

13. ഒട്ടകപ്പക്ഷി ഉല്ലസിച്ചു ചിറകു വീശുന്നു; എങ്കിലും ചിറകും തൂവലുംകൊണ്ടു വാത്സല്യം കാണിക്കുമോ?

13. 'An ostrich's wings beat wildly, although its pinions lack plumage.

14. അതു നിലത്തു മുട്ട ഇട്ടേച്ചുപോകുന്നു; അവയെ പൊടിയില് വെച്ചു വിരിക്കുന്നു.

14. It leaves its eggs on the ground and lets them be warmed by the sand,

15. കാല്കൊണ്ടു അവ ഉടഞ്ഞുപോയേക്കുമെന്നോ കാട്ടുമൃഗം അവയെ ചവിട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞേക്കുമെന്നോ അതു ഔര്ക്കുംന്നില്ല.

15. forgetting that a foot may crush them or a wild animal trample on them.

16. അതു തന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളോടു തനിക്കുള്ളവയല്ല എന്നപോലെ കാഠിന്യം കാണിക്കുന്നു; തന്റെ പ്രയത്നം വ്യര്ത്ഥമായ്പോകുമെന്നു ഭയപ്പെടുന്നില്ല.

16. It treats its chicks heartlessly, as if they were not its own; even if her labor is in vain, it really doesn't care;

17. ദൈവം അതിന്നു ജ്ഞാനമില്ലാതാക്കി വിവേകം അതിന്നു നല്കീട്ടുമില്ല.

17. because God has deprived it of wisdom and given it no share in understanding.

18. അതു ചിറകടിച്ചു പൊങ്ങി ഔടുമ്പോള് കുതിരയെയും പുറത്തു കയറിയവനെയും പരിഹസിക്കുന്നു.

18. When the time comes, it flaps its wings, scorning both horse and rider.

19. കുതിരെക്കു നീയോ ശക്തി കൊടുത്തതു? അതിന്റെ കഴുത്തിന്നു നീയോ കുഞ്ചിരോമം അണിയിച്ചതു?

19. Did you give the horse its strength? Did you clothe its neck with a mane?

20. നിനക്കു അതിനെ വെട്ടുക്കിളിയെപ്പോലെ ചാടിക്കാമോ? അതിന്റെ ഹുങ്കാരപ്രതാപം ഭയങ്കരം.

20. Did you make him able to leap like a locust? Its majestic snorting is frightening!

21. അതു താഴ്വരയില് മാന്തി ഊക്കോടെ ഉല്ലസിക്കുന്നു. അതു ആയുധപാണികളെ എതിര്ത്തുചെല്ലുന്നു.

21. It paws with force and exults with vigor, then charges into the battle;

22. അതു കൂശാതെ ഭയത്തെ പുച്ഛിക്കുന്നു; വാളിനോടു പിന് വാങ്ങി മണ്ടുന്നതുമില്ല.

22. mocking at fear, unafraid, it does not shy away from the sword.

23. അതിന്നു എതിരെ ആവനാഴിയും മിന്നുന്ന കുന്തവും ശൂലവും കിലുകിലുക്കുന്നു.

23. The [[rider's]] quiver rattles over it, [[his]] gleaming spear and javelin.

24. അതു ഉഗ്രതയും കോപവും പൂണ്ടു നിലം വിഴുങ്ങുന്നു; കാഹളനാദം കേട്ടാല് അതു അടങ്ങിനില്ക്കയില്ല.

24. Frenzied and eager, it devours the ground, scarcely believing the [shofar] has sounded.

25. കാഹളനാദം ധ്വനിക്കുന്തോറും അതു ഹാ, ഹാ എന്നു ചിനെക്കുന്നു; പടയും പടനായകന്മാരുടെ മുഴക്കവും ആര്പ്പും ദൂരത്തുനിന്നു മണക്കുന്നു.

25. At the sound of the [shofar] it whinnies; as from afar it scents the battle, the roar of the chiefs and the shouting.

26. നിന്റെ വിവേകത്താലോ പരുന്തു പറക്കയും ചിറകു തെക്കോട്ടു വിടര്ക്കുംകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു?

26. 'Is it your wisdom that sets the hawk soaring, spreading its wings toward the south?

27. നിന്റെ കല്പനെക്കോ കഴുകന് മേലോട്ടു പറക്കയും ഉയരത്തില് കൂടുവെക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു?

27. Does the eagle fly up when you say so, to build its nest in the heights?

28. അതു പാറയില് കുടിയേറി രാപാര്ക്കുംന്നു; പാറമുകളിലും ദുര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലും തന്നേ.

28. It lives and spends its nights on the cliffs; a rocky crag is its fortress.

29. അവിടെനിന്നു അതു ഇര തിരയുന്നു; അതിന്റെ കണ്ണു ദൂരത്തേക്കു കാണുന്നു.

29. From there it spots its prey, its eyes see it far off.

30. അതിന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുകള് ചോര വലിച്ചു കുടിക്കുന്നു. പട്ടുപോയവര് എവിടെയോ അവിടെ അതുണ്ടു.
