1. സകല ജാതികളുമായുള്ളോരേ, ഇതു കേള്പ്പിന് ; സകലഭൂവാസികളുമായുള്ളോരേ, ചെവിക്കൊള്വിന് .

1. To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. Hear this, all peoples; Give ear, all inhabitants of the world,

2. സാമാന്യജനവും ശ്രേഷ്ഠജനവും ധനവാന്മാരും ദരിദ്രന്മാരും തന്നേ.

2. Both low and high, Rich and poor together.

3. എന്റെ വായ് ജ്ഞാനം പ്രസ്താവിക്കും; എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിലെ ധ്യാനം വിവേകം തന്നേ ആയിരിക്കും.

3. My mouth shall speak wisdom, And the meditation of my heart [shall give] understanding.

4. ഞാന് സദൃശവാക്യത്തിന്നു എന്റെ ചെവിചായക്കും; കിന്നരനാദത്തോടെ എന്റെ കടങ്കഥ കേള്പ്പിക്കും.

4. I will incline my ear to a proverb; I will disclose my dark saying on the harp.

5. അകൃത്യം എന്റെ കുതികാലിനെ പിന്തുടര്ന്നു എന്നെ വളയുന്ന ദുഷ്കാലത്തു ഞാന് ഭയപ്പെടുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു?

5. Why should I fear in the days of evil, [When] the iniquity at my heels surrounds me?

6. അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ സമ്പത്തില് ആശ്രയിക്കയും ധനസമൃദ്ധിയില് പ്രശംസിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

6. Those who trust in their wealth And boast in the multitude of their riches,

7. സഹോദരന് ശവകൂഴി കാണാതെ എന്നെന്നേക്കും ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു

7. None [of them] can by any means redeem [his] brother, Nor give to God a ransom for him --

8. അവനെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പാനോ ദൈവത്തിന്നു വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുവില കൊടുപ്പാനോ ആര്ക്കും കഴികയില്ല.

8. For the redemption of their souls [is] costly, And it shall cease forever --

9. അവരുടെ പ്രാണന്റെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പു വിലയേറിയതു; അതു ഒരുനാളും സാധിക്കയില്ല.

9. That he should continue to live eternally, [And] not see the Pit.

10. ജ്ഞാനികള് മരിക്കയും മൂഢനും മൃഗപ്രായനും ഒരുപോലെ നശിക്കയും തങ്ങളുടെ സമ്പാദ്യം മറ്റുള്ളവര്ക്കും വിട്ടേച്ചു പോകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു കാണുന്നുവല്ലോ.

10. For he sees wise men die; Likewise the fool and the senseless person perish, And leave their wealth to others.

11. തങ്ങളുടെ ഭവനങ്ങള് ശാശ്വതമായും തങ്ങളുടെ വാസസ്ഥലങ്ങള് തലമുറതലമുറയായും നിലക്കും. എന്നിങ്ങനെയാകുന്നു അവരുടെ അന്തര്ഗ്ഗതം; തങ്ങളുടെ നിലങ്ങള്ക്കു അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ പേരിടുന്നു.

11. Their inner thought [is that] their houses [will last] forever, Their dwelling places to all generations; They call [their] lands after their own names.

12. എന്നാല് മനുഷ്യന് ബഹുമാനത്തില് നിലനില്ക്കയില്ല. അവന് നശിച്ചുപോകുന്ന മൃഗങ്ങള്ക്കു തുല്യന് .

12. Nevertheless man, [though] in honor, does not remain; He is like the beasts [that] perish.

13. ഇതു സ്വയാശ്രയക്കാരുടെ ഗതിയാകുന്നു; അവരുടെ അനന്തരവരോ അവരുടെ വാക്കുകളില് ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നു. സേലാ

13. This is the way of those who [are] foolish, And of their posterity who approve their sayings. Selah

14. അവരെ പാതാളത്തിന്നു ആടുകളായി ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; മൃത്യു അവരെ മേയിക്കുന്നു; നേരുള്ളവര് പുലര്ച്ചെക്കു അവരുടെമേല് വാഴും; അവരുടെ രൂപം ഇല്ലാതെയാകും; പാതാളം അവരുടെ പാര്പ്പിടം.

14. Like sheep they are laid in the grave; Death shall feed on them; The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; And their beauty shall be consumed in the grave, far from their dwelling.

15. എങ്കിലും എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ ദൈവം പാതാളത്തിന്റെ അധികാരത്തില്നിന്നു വീണ്ടെടുക്കും; അവന് എന്നെ കൈക്കൊള്ളും. സേലാ.

15. But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave, For He shall receive me. Selah

16. ഒരുത്തന് ധനവാനായിത്തീര്ന്നാലും അവന്റെ ഭവനത്തിന്റെ മഹത്വം വര്ദ്ധിച്ചാലും നീ ഭയപ്പെടരുതു.

16. Do not be afraid when one becomes rich, When the glory of his house is increased;

17. അവന് മരിക്കുമ്പോള് യാതൊന്നും കൊണ്ടുപോകയില്ല; അവന്റെ മഹത്വം അവനെ പിന് ചെല്ലുകയുമില്ല.

17. For when he dies he shall carry nothing away; His glory shall not descend after him.

18. അവന് ജീവനോടിരുന്നപ്പോള് താന് ഭാഗ്യവാന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; നീ നിനക്കു തന്നേ നന്മ ചെയ്യുമ്പോള് മനുഷ്യര് നിന്നെ പുകഴ്ത്തും.

18. Though while he lives he blesses himself (For [men] will praise you when you do well for yourself),

19. അവന് തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ തലമുറയോടു ചെന്നു ചേരും; അവര് ഒരുനാളും വെളിച്ചം കാണുകയില്ല.

19. He shall go to the generation of his fathers; They shall never see light.

20. മാനത്തോടിരിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യന് വിവേകഹീനനായാല് നശിച്ചുപോകുന്ന മൃഗങ്ങള്ക്കു തുല്യനത്രേ.

20. A man [who is] in honor, yet does not understand, Is like the beasts [that] perish.
