1. ദൈവമേ, എന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന ശ്രദ്ധിക്കേണമേ; എന്റെ യാചനെക്കു മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കരുതേ.

1. To the Chief Musician: with stringed Instruments. A Psalm of Instruction, of David. Give ear, O God, to my prayer, And do not hide thyself from my supplication:

2. എനിക്കു ചെവിതന്നു ഉത്തരമരുളേണമേ; ശത്രുവിന്റെ ആരവംനിമിത്തവും ദുഷ്ടന്റെ പീഡനിമിത്തവും ഞാന് എന്റെ സങ്കടത്തില് പൊറുതിയില്ലാതെ ഞരങ്ങുന്നു.

2. Attend unto me, and answer me, I may ramble in my complaining, And be driven to and fro

3. അവര് എന്റെ മേല് നീതികേടു ചുമത്തുന്നു; കോപത്തോടെ എന്നെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്നു.

3. Because of the noise of the enemy, By reason of the oppression of the lawless one, For they would let trouble drop upon me, And, in anger, would they entrap me.

4. എന്റെ ഹൃദയം എന്റെ ഉള്ളില് വേദനപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; മരണഭീതിയും എന്റെമേല് വീണിരിക്കുന്നു.

4. My heart, would writhe within me, And, the terrors of Death, have fallen upon me:

5. ഭയവും വിറയലും എന്നെ പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; പരിഭ്രമം എന്നെ മൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

5. Fear and trembling, would enter me, And there would have overwhelmed me a horror!

6. പ്രാവിന്നുള്ളതുപോലെ എനിക്കു ചിറകുണ്ടായിരുന്നുവെങ്കില്! എന്നാല് ഞാന് പറന്നുപോയി വിശ്രമിക്കുമായിരുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞു.

6. Then I said Oh that there were given me a pinion, like a dove, I would fly away and be at rest:

7. അതേ, ഞാന് ദൂരത്തു സഞ്ചരിച്ചു, മരുഭൂമിയില് പാര്ക്കുംമായിരുന്നു! സേലാ.

7. Lo! I would take a distant flight, I would tarry in the wilderness. Selah.

8. കൊടുങ്കാറ്റില്നിന്നും പെരുങ്കാറ്റില്നിന്നും ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു ഞാന് ഒരു സങ്കേതത്തിലേക്കു ഔടിപ്പോകുമായിരുന്നു!

8. I would hasten mine escape, From rushing wind, from storm.

9. കര്ത്താവേ, സംഹരിച്ചു അവരുടെ നാവുകളെ ചീന്തിക്കളയേണമേ. ഞാന് നഗരത്തില് അതിക്രമവും കലഹവും കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

9. Confuse, O My Lord, divide their speech, For I have seen violence and contention in the city;

10. രാവും പകലും അവര് അതിന്റെ മതിലുകളിന്മേല് ചുറ്റി സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നു; നീതികേടും കഷ്ടവും അതിന്റെ അകത്തുണ്ടു.

10. Day and night, they go round her, upon her walls, And, trouble and misery, are in her midst;

11. ദുഷ്ടത അതിന്റെ നടുവില് ഉണ്ടു; ചതിവും വഞ്ചനയും അതിന്റെ വീഥികളെ വിട്ടുമാറുന്നതുമില്ല.

11. Engulfing ruin, is in her midst, And there depart not from her broadway, oppression and deceit.

12. എന്നെ നിന്ദിച്ചതു ഒരു ശത്രുവല്ല; അങ്ങനെയെങ്കില് ഞാന് സഹിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; എന്റെ നേരെ വമ്പു പറഞ്ഞതു എന്നെ പകെക്കുന്നവനല്ല; അങ്ങനെയെങ്കില് ഞാന് മറഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളുമായിരുന്നു.

12. For it is, not an enemy, that reproacheth me, Or I could bear it, Not one that hath hated me, who, against me, hath magnified himself, Or I might hide myself from him;

13. നീയോ എന്നോടു സമനായ മനുഷ്യനും എന്റെ സഖിയും എന്റെ പ്രാണസ്നേഹിതനുമായിരുന്നു.

13. But it is, thou, a man esteemed as mine equal, mine associate, and mine acquaintance;

14. നാം തമ്മില് മധുരസമ്പര്ക്കം ചെയ്തു പുരുഷാരവുമായി ദൈവാലയത്തിലേക്കു പോയല്ലോ.

14. So that together have we been wont to find sweetness in counsel, In the house of God, used we to walk in the throng.

15. മരണം പെട്ടെന്നു അവരെ പിടിക്കട്ടെ; അവര് ജീവനോടെ പാതാളത്തിലേക്കു ഇറങ്ങട്ടെ; ദുഷ്ടത അവരുടെ വാസസ്ഥലത്തും അവരുടെ ഉള്ളിലും ഉണ്ടു.

15. Desolations on them! Let them go down into hades alive, For, wicked doings, are at home within them.

16. ഞാനോ ദൈവത്തെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കും; യഹോവ എന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കും.

16. I, unto God, will cry, And, Yahweh, will save me.

17. ഞാന് വൈകുന്നേരത്തും കാലത്തും ഉച്ചെക്കും സങ്കടം ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു കരയും; അവന് എന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കേള്ക്കും.

17. At evening and morning and high noon, have I been wont to lament and complain, And he hath heard my voice!

18. എന്നോടു കയര്ത്തുനിന്നവര് അനേകരായിരിക്കെ ആരും എന്നോടു അടുക്കാതവണ്ണം അവന് എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ വീണ്ടെടുത്തു സമാധാനത്തിലാക്കി;

18. He hath completely redeemed my soul, out of the attack upon me, For, in multitudes, were they in conflict with me.

19. ദൈവം കേട്ടു അവര്ക്കും ഉത്തരം അരുളും; പുരാതനമേ സിംഹാസനസ്ഥനായവന് തന്നേ. സേലാ. അവര്ക്കും മാനസാന്തരമില്ല; അവര് ദൈവത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നതുമില്ല.

19. GOD will hear, Yea He will humble them who aforetime sat enthroned . Selah. With whom are no changings, Neither have they revered God.

20. തന്നോടു സമാധാനമായിരിക്കുന്നവരെ കയ്യേറ്റം ചെയ്തു തന്റെ സഖ്യത അവന് ലംഘിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

20. He hath thrust forth his hands, against them he was wont to salute, he hath violated his covenant;

21. അവന്റെ വായ് വെണ്ണപോലെ മൃദുവായതു; ഹൃദയത്തിലോ യുദ്ധമത്രേ. അവന്റെ വാക്കുകള് എണ്ണയെക്കാള് മയമുള്ളവ; എങ്കിലും അവ ഊരിയ വാളുകള് ആയിരുന്നു.

21. Smoother than curds, were the words of his mouth, But, war, was in his heart, Softer his words than oil, Yet, they, were drawn swords!

22. നിന്റെ ഭാരം യഹോവയുടെമേല് വെച്ചുകൊള്ക; അവന് നിന്നെ പുലര്ത്തും; നീതിമാന് കുലുങ്ങിപ്പോകുവാന് അവന് ഒരു നാളും സമ്മതിക്കയില്ല.

22. Cast upon Yahweh thy lot, and, he, will sustain thee: He will not suffer, to times age-abiding, the righteous one to be shaken.

23. ദൈവമേ, നീ അവരെ നാശത്തിന്റെ കുഴിയിലേക്കു ഇറക്കും; രക്തപ്രിയവും വഞ്ചനയും ഉള്ളവര് ആയുസ്സിന്റെ പകുതിയോളം ജീവിക്കയില്ല; ഞാനോ നിന്നില് ആശ്രയിക്കും. (സംഗീതപ്രമാണിക്കു; ദൂരസ്ഥന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില് മിണ്ടാത്ത പ്രാവു എന്ന രാഗത്തില്; ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു സ്വര്ണ്ണഗീതം; ഫെലിസ്ത്യര് അവനെ ഗത്തില് വെച്ചു പിടിച്ചപ്പോള് ചമെച്ചതു.)

23. But, thou, O God, wilt bring them down to the pit of destruction, Men of bloodshed and deceit, shall not live out half their days; But, I, will trust in thee.
