1. ദൈവമേ, നീ ഞങ്ങളെ സദാകാലത്തേക്കും തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞതു എന്തു? നിന്റെ മേച്ചല്പുറത്തെ ആടുകളുടെ നേരെ നിന്റെ കോപം പുകയുന്നതു എന്തു?

1. An instruction of Asaph O God, wherefore doest thou cast us so clean away? Why is thy wrath so hot against the sheep of thy pasture?

2. നീ പണ്ടുപണ്ടേ സമ്പാദിച്ച നിന്റെ സഭയെയും നീ വീണ്ടെടുത്ത നിന്റെ അവകാശഗോത്രത്തെയും നീ വസിച്ചുപോന്ന സീയോന് പര്വ്വതത്തെയും ഔര്ക്കേണമേ.

2. O think upon thy congregation, whom thou hast purchased from the beginning: the staff of thine inheritance, whom thou hast redeemed, even this hill of Sion wherein thou dwellest.

3. നിത്യശൂന്യങ്ങളിലേക്കു നിന്റെ കാലടി വെക്കേണമേ; ശത്രു വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തില് സകലവും നശിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

3. Tread upon them with thy feet, and cast them down to the ground, for the enemy hath destroyed alltogether in the Sanctuary.

4. നിന്റെ വൈരികള് നിന്റെ സമാഗമന സ്ഥലത്തിന്റെ നടുവില് അലറുന്നു; തങ്ങളുടെ കൊടികളെ അവര് അടയാളങ്ങളായി നാട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

4. Thine adversaries roar in thy houses, and set up their banners for tokens.

5. അവര് മരക്കൂട്ടത്തിന്മേല് കോടാലി ഔങ്ങുന്നതുപോലെ തോന്നി.

5. Men may see the axes glister above, like as those that hewn in the wood.

6. ഇതാ, അവര് മഴുകൊണ്ടും ചുറ്റികകൊണ്ടും അതിന്റെ ചിത്രപ്പണികളെ ആകപ്പാടെ തകര്ത്തുകളയുന്നു.

6. They cut down all the ceiling work of the Sanctuary with bills and axes.

7. അവര് നിന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തിന്നു തീവെച്ചു; തിരുനാമത്തിന്റെ നിവാസത്തെ അവര് ഇടിച്ചുനിരത്തി അശുദ്ധമാക്കി.

7. They have set fire upon the(thy) Sanctuary, they have defiled the dwelling place of thy name, even to the ground.

8. നാം അവരെ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളക എന്നു അവര് ഉള്ളംകൊണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞു. ദേശത്തില് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ എല്ലാപള്ളികളെയും ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.

8. Yea they say in their hearts: Let us spoil them all together, thus have they brent up all the houses of God in the land.

9. ഞങ്ങള് ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടയാളങ്ങളെ കാണുന്നില്ല; യാതൊരു പ്രവാചകനും ശേഷിച്ചിട്ടില്ല; ഇതു എത്രത്തോളം എന്നറിയുന്നവന് ആരും ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് ഇല്ല.

9. We see our tokens no more, there is not one Prophet more, no not one that understandeth anymore.

10. ദൈവമേ, വൈരി എത്രത്തോളം നിന്ദിക്കും? ശത്രു നിന്റെ നാമത്തെ എന്നേക്കും ദുഷിക്കുമോ?

10. Oh God, how long shall the adversary do this dishonour? How long shall the enemy blaspheme thy name? for ever?

11. നിന്റെ കൈ, നിന്റെ വലങ്കൈ നീ വലിച്ചുകളയുന്നതു എന്തു? നിന്റെ മടിയില്നിന്നു അതു എടുത്തു അവരെ മുടിക്കേണമേ.

11. Why withdrawest thou thy hand? Why pluckest thou not thy right hand out of thy bosom, to consume thy enemies?

12. ദൈവം പുരാതനമേ എന്റെ രാജാവാകുന്നു; ഭൂമിയുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ അവന് രക്ഷ പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നു.

12. But God is my King of old, the help that is done upon earth, he doth it himself.

13. നിന്റെ ശക്തികൊണ്ടു നീ സമുദ്രത്തെ വിഭാഗിച്ചു; വെള്ളത്തിലുള്ള തിമിംഗലങ്ങളുടെ തലകളെ ഉടെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

13. Thou dividest(denydest) the sea thorow thy power, thou breakest the heads of the dragons in the waters.

14. ലിവ്യാഥാന്റെ തലകളെ നീ തകര്ത്തു; മരുവാസികളായ ജനത്തിന്നു അതിനെ ആഹാരമായി കൊടുത്തു.

14. Thou smitest the heads of Leviathan in pieces, and givest him to be meat for the people in the wilderness.

15. നീ ഉറവും ഒഴുക്കും തുറന്നുവിട്ടു, മഹാനദികളെ നീ വറ്റിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

15. Thou diggest up wells and brooks, thou driest up mighty rivers.

16. പകല് നിനക്കുള്ളതു; രാവും നിനക്കുള്ളതു; വെളിച്ചത്തെയും സൂര്യനെയും നീ ചമെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

16. The day is thine, the night is thine: thou hast prepared the lights and the sun.(Sonne)

17. ഭൂസീമകളെ ഒക്കെയും നീ സ്ഥാപിച്ചു; നീ ഉഷ്ണകാലവും ശീതകാലവും നിയമിച്ചു.

17. Thou hast set all the borders of the earth, thou hast made both summer and winter.

18. യഹോവേ, ശത്രു നിന്ദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതും മൂഢജാതി തിരുനാമത്തെ ദുഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതും ഔര്ക്കേണമേ.

18. Remember this, O LORD, how the enemy rebuketh, and how the foolish people blaspheme thy name.

19. നിന്റെ കുറുപ്രാവിനെ ദുഷ്ടമൃഗത്തിന്നു ഏല്പിക്കരുതേ; നിന്റെ എളിയവരുടെ ജീവനെ എന്നേക്കും മറക്കരുതേ.

19. O deliver not the soul of thy turtle dove unto the beasts, and forget not the congregation of the poor for ever.

20. നിന്റെ നിയമത്തെ കടാക്ഷിക്കേണമേ; ഭൂമിയിലെ അന്ധകാരസ്ഥലങ്ങള് സാഹസനിവാസങ്ങള്കൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

20. Look upon the covenant, for the dark houses of the earth are full of wickedness.

21. പീഡിതന് ലജ്ജിച്ചു പിന്തിരിയരുതേ; എളിയവനും ദരിദ്രനും നിന്റെ നാമത്തെ സ്തുതിക്കട്ടെ.

21. O let not the simple go away ashamed: for the poor and needy give praises unto thy name.

22. ദൈവമേ, എഴുന്നേറ്റു നിന്റെ വ്യവഹാരം നടത്തേണമേ; മൂഢന് ഇടവിടാതെ നിന്നെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നതു ഔക്കേണമേ.

22. Arise, O God, and maintain thine own cause, remember how the foolish man blasphemeth thee daily.

23. നിന്റെ വൈരികളുടെ ആരവം മറക്കരുതേ; നിന്റെ എതിരാളികളുടെ കലഹം എപ്പോഴും പൊങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. (സംഗീതപ്രമാണിക്കു; നശിപ്പിക്കരുതേ എന്ന രാഗത്തില്; ആസാഫിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീര്ത്തനം; ഒരു ഗീതം.)

23. Forget not the voice of thine enemies, for the presumption of them that hate thee, increaseth ever more and more.
