1. സ്ത്രീകളില് ജ്ഞാനമുള്ളവള് തന്റെ വീടു പണിയുന്നു; ഭോഷത്വമുള്ളവളോ അതു സ്വന്തകൈകളാല് പൊളിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.

1. A wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her own hands.

2. നേരായി നടക്കുന്നവന് യഹോവാഭക്തന് ; നടപ്പില് വക്രതയുള്ളവനോ അവനെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നു.

2. He who walks in his uprightness fears Jehovah, but the perverse in his ways despises Him.

3. ഭോഷന്റെവായില് ഡംഭത്തിന്റെ വടിയുണ്ടു; ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ അധരങ്ങളോ അവരെ കാത്തുകൊള്ളുന്നു.

3. A rod of pride is in the mouth of a fool, but the lips of the wise shall keep them.

4. കാളകള് ഇല്ലാത്തെടത്തു തൊഴുത്തു വെടിപ്പുള്ളതു; കാളയുടെ ശക്തികൊണ്ടോ വളരെ ആദായം ഉണ്ടു.

4. The stall is clean where there are no cattle, but much gain is by the strength of an ox.

5. വിശ്വസ്തസാക്ഷി ഭോഷകു പറകയില്ല; കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷിയോ ഭോഷകു നിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.

5. A faithful witness will not lie, but a false witness breathes lies.

6. പരിഹാസി ജ്ഞാനം അന്വേഷിച്ചിട്ടും കണ്ടെത്തുന്നില്ല; വിവേകമുള്ളവന്നോ പരിജ്ഞാനം എളുപ്പം.

6. A scorner seeks wisdom, but finds it not, yet knowledge is swift to the discerning.

7. മൂഢന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു മാറിപ്പോക; പരിജ്ഞാനമുള്ള അധരങ്ങള് നീ അവനില് കാണുകയില്ല.

7. Go from before a foolish man, or you will not know the lips of knowledge.

8. വഴി തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നതു വിവേകിയുടെ ജ്ഞാനം; ചതിക്കുന്നതോ ഭോഷന്മാരുടെ ഭോഷത്വം.

8. The wisdom of the wise is to understand his way, but the foolishness of fools is deceit.

9. ഭോഷന്മാരെ അകൃത്യയാഗം പരിഹസിക്കുന്നു. നേരുള്ളവര്ക്കോ തമ്മില് പ്രീതി ഉണ്ടു.

9. Fools laugh at guilt offering, but among the righteous is favor.

10. ഹൃദയം സ്വന്തദുഃഖത്തെ അറിയുന്നു; അതിന്റെ സന്തോഷത്തിലും അന്യന് ഇടപെടുന്നില്ല.

10. The heart knows the bitterness of its soul, and a stranger does not mix in its joy.

11. ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ വീടു മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകും; നീതിമാന്റെ കൂടാരമോ തഴെക്കും.

11. The wicked's house shall be thrown down, but the tent of the upright will flourish.

12. ചിലപ്പോള് ഒരു വഴി മനുഷ്യന്നു ചൊവ്വായി തോന്നും; അതിന്റെ അവസാനമോ മരണവഴികള് അത്രേ.

12. There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end of it is the ways of death.

13. ചിരിക്കുമ്പോള് തന്നേയും ഹൃദയം ദുഃഖിച്ചിരിക്കാം; സന്തോഷത്തിന്റെ അവസാനം ദുഃഖമാകയുമാം.

13. Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful, and the end of that joy is heaviness.

14. ഹൃദയത്തില് വിശ്വാസത്യാഗമുള്ളവന്നു തന്റെ നടപ്പില് മടുപ്പുവരും; നല്ല മനുഷ്യനോ തന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയാല് തന്നേ തൃപ്തിവരും.

14. The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways, but a good man from himself.

15. അല്പബുദ്ധി ഏതു വാക്കും വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു; സൂക്ഷ്മബുദ്ധിയോ തന്റെ നടപ്പു സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു.

15. The simple believes every word, but the wise considers his step.

16. ജ്ഞാനി ഭയപ്പെട്ടു ദോഷം അകറ്റിനടക്കുന്നു; ഭോഷനോ ധിക്കാരംപൂണ്ടു നിര്ഭയനായി നടക്കുന്നു.

16. The wise fears and departs from evil, but the fool rages and is sure.

17. മുന് കോപി ഭോഷത്വം പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നു. ദുരുപായി ദ്വേഷിക്കപ്പെടും.

17. He who is short of temper acts foolishly; and a man of evil plots is hated.

18. അല്പബുദ്ധികള് ഭോഷത്വം അവകാശമാക്കിക്കൊള്ളുന്നു; സൂക്ഷ്മബുദ്ധികളോ പരിജ്ഞാനം അണിയുന്നു.

18. The simple inherit foolishness, but the wise are crowned with knowledge.

19. ദുര്ജ്ജനം സജ്ജനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിലും ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ വാതില്ക്കലും വണങ്ങിനിലക്കുന്നു.

19. The evil bow before the good; yea, the wicked at the gates of the just.

20. ദരിദ്രനെ കൂട്ടുകാരന് പോലും പകെക്കുന്നു; ധനവാന്നോ വളരെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാര് ഉണ്ടു.

20. The poor is hated even by his own neighbor, but the rich has many friends.

21. കൂട്ടുകാരനെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നവന് പാപം ചെയ്യുന്നു; എളിയവരോടു കൃപകാണിക്കുന്നവനോ ഭാഗ്യവാന് .

21. He who despises his neighbor sins, but he who has mercy on the poor, Oh how happy is he!

22. ദോഷം നിരൂപിക്കുന്നവര് ഉഴന്നുപോകുന്നില്ലയോ? നന്മ നിരൂപിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കോ ദയയും വിശ്വസ്തതയും ലഭിക്കുന്നു.

22. Do not those who think evil go astray? But mercy and truth will be to those who think of good.

23. എല്ലാ തൊഴിലുംകൊണ്ടു ലാഭം വരും; അധരചര്വ്വണംകൊണ്ടോ ഞെരുക്കമേ വരു.

23. In all labor there is profit, but the talk of the lips tends only to poverty.

24. ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ ധനം അവര്ക്കും കിരീടം; മൂഢന്മാരുടെ ഭോഷത്വമോ ഭോഷത്വം തന്നെ.

24. The crown of the wise is their riches; the foolishness of fools is folly.

25. സത്യസാക്ഷി പ്രാണരക്ഷ ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഭോഷകു നിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവനോ വഞ്ചന ചെയ്യുന്നു.

25. A true witness delivers souls, but a deceitful witness speaks lies.

26. യഹോവാഭക്തന്നു ദൃഢധൈര്യം ഉണ്ടു; അവന്റെ മക്കള്ക്കും ശരണം ഉണ്ടാകും.

26. In the fear of Jehovah is strong trust, and His sons shall have a hiding place.

27. യഹോവാഭക്തി ജീവന്റെ ഉറവാകുന്നു; അതിനാല് മരണത്തിന്റെ കണികളെ ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകും.

27. The fear of Jehovah is a fountain of life, to turn away from snares of death.

28. പ്രജാബാഹുല്യം രാജാവിന്നു ബഹുമാനം; പ്രജാന്യൂനതയോ പ്രഭുവിന്നു നാശം.

28. In the multitude of people is the king's glory, but in the lack of people is the ruin of a prince.

29. ദീര്ഘക്ഷമയുള്ളവന് മഹാബുദ്ധിമാന് ; മുന് കോപിയോ ഭോഷത്വം ഉയര്ത്തുന്നു.

29. One slow to anger is of great understanding, but he who is short of spirit exalts folly.

30. ശാന്തമനസ്സു ദേഹത്തിന്നു ജീവന് ; അസൂയയോ അസ്തികള്ക്കു ദ്രവത്വം.

30. A healthy heart is the life of the flesh, but envy is the rottenness of the bones.

31. എളിയവനെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നവന് അവന്റെ സ്രഷ്ടാവിനെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നു; ദരിദ്രനോടു കൃപകാണിക്കുന്നവനോ അവനെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നു.

31. He who oppresses the poor curses his Maker, but he who honors Him has mercy on the needy.

32. ദുഷ്ടന്നു തന്റെ ദുഷ്ടതയാല് വീഴ്ച വരുന്നു; നീതിമാന്നോ മരണത്തിലും പ്രത്യാശയുണ്ടു.

32. The wicked is thrust out in his wickedness, but the righteous has hope in his death.

33. വിവേകമുള്ളവന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് ജ്ഞാനം അടങ്ങിപ്പാര്ക്കുംന്നു; മൂഢന്മാരുടെ അന്തരംഗത്തില് ഉള്ളതോ വെളിപ്പെട്ടുവരുന്നു.

33. Wisdom rests in the heart of the intelligent, but among fools it is revealed.

34. നീതി ജാതിയെ ഉയര്ത്തുന്നു; പാപമോ വംശങ്ങള്ക്കു അപമാനം.

34. Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a shame to any people.

35. ബുദ്ധിമാനായ ദാസന്നു രാജാവിന്റെ പ്രീതി ലഭിക്കുന്നു. നാണംകെട്ടവന്നോ അവന്റെ കോപം നേരിടും.

35. The king's favor is toward a servant who acts prudently, but his wrath takes place on one causing shame.
