1. ജ്ഞാനമായവള് തനിക്കു ഒരു വീടുപണിതു; അതിന്നു ഏഴു തൂണ് തീര്ത്തു.

1. Wisedome hath built her house, and hewen out her seuen pillars.

2. അവള് മൃഗങ്ങളെ അറുത്തു, വീഞ്ഞു കലക്കി, തന്റെ മേശ ചമയിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

2. She hath killed her vitailes, drawen her wine, and prepared her table.

3. അവള് തന്റെ ദാസികളെ അയച്ചു പട്ടണത്തിലെ മേടകളില്നിന്നു വിളിച്ചു പറയിക്കുന്നതു

3. She hath sent forth her maydens and cryeth vpon the highest places of the citie, saying,

4. അല്പബുദ്ധിയായവന് ഇങ്ങോട്ടു വരട്ടെ; ബുദ്ധിഹീനനോടോ അവള് പറയിക്കുന്നതു;

4. Who so is simple, let him come hither, and to him that is destitute of wisedome, she sayth,

5. വരുവിന് , എന്റെ അപ്പം തിന്നുകയും ഞാന് കലക്കിയ വീഞ്ഞു കുടിക്കയും ചെയ്വിന് !

5. Come, and eate of my meate, and drinke of the wine that I haue drawen.

6. ബുദ്ധിഹീനരേ, ബുദ്ധിഹീനത വിട്ടു ജീവിപ്പിന് ! വിവേകത്തിന്റെ മാര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് നടന്നുകൊള്വിന് .

6. Forsake your way, ye foolish, and ye shall liue: and walke in the way of vnderstanding.

7. പരിഹാസിയെ ശാസിക്കുന്നവന് ലജ്ജ സമ്പാദിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടനെ ഭര്ത്സിക്കുന്നവന്നു കറ പറ്റുന്നു.

7. He that reproueth a scorner, purchaseth to himselfe shame: and he that rebuketh the wicked, getteth himselfe a blot.

8. പരിഹാസി നിന്നെ പകെക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവനെ ശാസിക്കരുതു; ജ്ഞാനിയെ ശാസിക്ക; അവന് നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കും.

8. Rebuke not a scorner, least he hate thee: but rebuke a wise man, and he will loue thee.

9. ജ്ഞാനിയെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്ക, അവന്റെ ജ്ഞാനം വര്ദ്ധിക്കും; നീതിമാനെ ഉപദേശിക്ക അവന് വിദ്യാഭിവൃദ്ധി പ്രാപിക്കും.

9. Giue admonition to the wise, and he will be the wiser: teache a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.

10. യഹോവാഭക്തി ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെ ആരംഭവും പരിശുദ്ധനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പരിജ്ഞാനം വിവേകവും ആകുന്നു.

10. The beginning of wisedome is the feare of the Lord, and the knowledge of holy things, is vnderstanding.

11. ഞാന് മുഖാന്തരം നിന്റെ നാളുകള് പെരുകും; നിനക്കു ദീര്ഘായുസ്സു ഉണ്ടാകും.

11. For thy dayes shalbe multiplied by me, and the yeeres of thy life shalbe augmented.

12. നീ ജ്ഞാനിയാകുന്നുവെങ്കില് നിനക്കുവേണ്ടി തന്നേ ജ്ഞാനിയായിരിക്കും; പരിഹസിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലോ, നീ തന്നേ സഹിക്കേണ്ടിവരും.

12. If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thy selfe, and if thou be a scorner, thou alone shalt suffer.

13. ഭോഷത്വമായവള് മോഹപരവശയായിരിക്കുന്നു; അവള് ബുദ്ധിഹീന തന്നേ, ഒന്നും അറിയുന്നതുമില്ല.

13. A foolish woman is troublesome: she is ignorant, and knoweth nothing.

14. തങ്ങളുടെ പാതയില് നേരെ നടക്കുന്നവരായി കടന്നുപോകുന്നവരെ വിളിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു

14. But she sitteth at the doore of her house on a seate in the hie places of the citie,

15. അവള് പട്ടണത്തിലെ മേടകളില് തന്റെ വീട്ടുവാതില്ക്കല് ഒരു പീഠത്തിന്മേല് ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

15. To call them that passe by the way, that go right on their way, saying,

16. അല്പബുദ്ധിയായവന് ഇങ്ങോട്ടു വരട്ടെ; ബുദ്ധിഹീനനോടോ അവള് പറയുന്നതു;

16. Who so is simple, let him come hither, and to him that is destitute of wisedome, shee sayth also,

17. മോഷ്ടിച്ച വെള്ളം മധുരവും ഒളിച്ചുതിന്നുന്ന അപ്പം രുചികരവും ആകുന്നു.

17. Stollen waters are sweete, and hid bread is pleasant.

18. എങ്കിലും മൃതന്മാര് അവിടെ ഉണ്ടെന്നും അവളുടെ വിരുന്നുകാര് പാതാളത്തിന്റെ ആഴത്തില് ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നും അവന് അറിയുന്നില്ല.

18. But he knoweth not, that ye dead are there, and that her ghestes are in the depth of hell.
