1. ആമോസിന്റെ മകനായ യെശയ്യാവു യെഹൂദയെയും യെരൂശലേമിനെയും പറ്റി ദര്ശിച്ച വചനം.

1. That which Isaiah, son of Amoz saw in vision, concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

2. അന്ത്യകാലത്തു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയമുള്ള പര്വ്വതം പര്വ്വതങ്ങളുടെ ശിഖരത്തില് സ്ഥാപിതവും കുന്നുകള്ക്കു മീതെ ഉന്നതവുമായിരിക്കും; സകലജാതികളും അതിലേക്കു ഒഴുകിച്ചെല്ലും.

2. But it shall come to pass, in the afterpart of the days, That the mountain of the house of Yahweh Shall be, set up, as the head of the mountains, And be exalted above the hills, And all the nations, shall stream thereunto;

3. അനേകവംശങ്ങളും ചെന്നുവരുവിന് , നമുക്കു യഹോവയുടെ പര്വ്വതത്തിലേക്കു, യാക്കോബിന് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കു കയറിച്ചെല്ലാം; അവന് നമുക്കു തന്റെ വഴികളെ ഉപദേശിച്ചുതരികയും നാം അവന്റെ പാതകളില് നടക്കയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറയും. സീയോനില്നിന്നു ഉപദേശവും യെരൂശലേമില്നിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ വചനവും പുറപ്പെടും.

3. And many peoples shall go and say Come ye, and let us ascend Unto the mountain of Yahweh Unto the house of the God of Jacob, That he may teach us of his ways, And we may walk in his paths, For, out of Zion, shall go forth a law, And the word of Yahweh out of Jerusalem;

4. അവന് ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില് ന്യായം വിധിക്കയും ബഹുവംശങ്ങള്ക്കു വിധികല്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യും; അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ വാളുകളെ കൊഴുക്കളായും കുന്തങ്ങളെ വാക്കത്തികളായും അടിച്ചുതീര്ക്കും; ജാതി ജാതിക്കു നേരെ വാളോങ്ങുകയില്ല; അവര് ഇനി യുദ്ധം അഭ്യസിക്കയും ഇല്ല.

4. And he will judge between the nations, And be umpire to many peoples, And they will beat their swords into ploughshares and their spears into pruning-hooks, Nation against nation, shall not lift up sword, Neither shall they learn any more to make war,

5. യാക്കോബ്ഗൃഹമേ, വരുവിന് ; നമുക്കു യഹോവയുടെ വെളിച്ചത്തില് നടക്കാം.

5. O house of Jacob! come ye and let us walk in the light of Yahweh.

6. എന്നാല് നീ യാക്കോബ്ഗൃഹമായ നിന്റെ ജനത്തെ തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവര് പൂര്വ്വദേശക്കാരുടെ മര്യാദകളാല് നിറഞ്ഞും ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെപ്പോലെ പ്രശ്നക്കാരായും അന്യജാതിക്കാരോടു കയ്യടിച്ചവരായും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

6. Therefore hast thou abandoned thy people the house of Jacob, Because they have become full of the And use hidden arts like the Philistines, And with the children of foreigners, strike hands;

7. അവരുടെ ദേശത്തു വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ നിക്ഷേപങ്ങള്ക്കു കണക്കില്ല; അവരുടെ ദേശത്തു കുതിരകള് നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ രഥങ്ങള്ക്കും എണ്ണമില്ല.

7. So that filled is their land with silver and gold, And there is no end to their treasures, And filled is theft land with horses, And there is no end to their chariots;

8. അവരുടെ ദേശത്തു വിഗ്രഹങ്ങള് നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; സ്വവിരല്കൊണ്ടുണ്ടാക്കിയ കൈപ്പണിയെ അവര് നമസ്കരിക്കുന്നു.

8. And filled is their land with idols, To the work of their own hands, do they bow themselves down, To that which they made with their own fingers.

9. മനുഷ്യന് വണങ്ങുന്നു, പുരുഷന് കുനിയുന്നു; ആകയാല് നീ അവരോടു ക്ഷമിക്കരുതേ.

9. So the mean man boweth down And the great man stoopeth low, Therefore do not thou forgive them!

10. യഹോവയുടെ ഭയങ്കരത്വംനിമിത്തവും അവന്റെ മഹിമയുടെ പ്രഭനിമിത്തവും നീ പാറയില് കടന്നു മണ്ണില് ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ക.

10. Enter into the rock, Or hide thee in the dust, Because of the terribleness of Yahweh, And for his majestic splendour.

11. മനുഷ്യരുടെ നിഗളിച്ച കണ്ണു താഴും; പുരുഷന്മാരുടെ ഉന്നതഭാവം കുനിയും; യഹോവ മാത്രം അന്നാളില് ഉന്നതനായിരിക്കും.

11. The lofty looks of mean men, shall be humbled, And, the haughtiness of great men, shall be bowed down, And Yahweh alone shall be exalted in that day.

12. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ നാള് ഗര്വ്വവും ഉന്നതഭാവവും ഉള്ള എല്ലാറ്റിന്മേലും നിഗളമുള്ള എല്ലാറ്റിന്മേലും വരും;

12. For, a day of Yahweh of hosts, shall be Upon every one who is high and lofty, And upon every one who is lifted up, And he shall be brought low;

13. അവ താണുപോകും. ലെബാനോനിലെ പൊക്കവും ഉയരവും ഉള്ള സകല ദേവദാരുക്കളിന്മേലും ബാര്ശാനിലെ എല്ലാകരുവേലകങ്ങളിന്മേലും ഉയര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്ന

13. And upon all cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, And upon all the oaks of Bashan;

14. സകലപര്വ്വതങ്ങളിന്മേലും ഉയരമുള്ള എല്ലാകന്നുകളിന്മേലും

14. And upon all the lofty mountains, And upon all the uplifted hills;

15. ഉന്നതമായ സകലഗോപുരത്തിന്മേലും

15. And upon every high tower, And upon every fortress wall;

16. ഉറപ്പുള്ള എല്ലാമതിലിന്മേലും എല്ലാതര്ശീശ് കപ്പലിന്മേലും മനോഹരമായ സകലശൃംഗാര ഗോപുരത്തിന്മേലും വരും.

16. And upon all the ships of Tarshish, And upon all desirable banners.

17. അപ്പോള് മനുഷ്യന്റെ ഗര്വ്വം കുനിയും; പുരുഷന്മാരുടെ ഉന്നതഭാവം താഴും; യഹോവ മാത്രം അന്നാളില് ഉന്നതനായിരിക്കും.

17. And the haughtiness of mean men, shall be humbled, And the loftiness of great men, shall be laid low, And Yahweh alone shall be exalted in that day.

18. മിത്ഥ്യാമൂര്ത്തികളോ അശേഷം ഇല്ലാതെയാകും.

18. And, the idols, shall wholly pass away;

19. യഹോവ ഭൂമിയെ നടുക്കുവാന് എഴുന്നേലക്കുമ്പോള് അവര് അവന്റെ ഭയങ്കരത്വം നിമിത്തവും അവന്റെ മഹിമയുടെ പ്രഭനിമിത്തവും പാറകളുടെ ഗുഹകളിലും മണ്ണിലെ പോതുകളിലും കടക്കും.

19. And they shall enter into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of clay, Because of the terribleness of Yahweh, And for his majestic splendour, When he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.

20. യഹോവ ഭൂമിയെ നടുക്കുവാന് എഴുന്നേലക്കുമ്പോള് അവന്റെ ഭയങ്കരത്വംനിമിത്തവും അവന്റെ മഹിമയുടെ പ്രഭനിമിത്തവും പാറകളുടെ ഗഹ്വരങ്ങളിലും പൊട്ടിയ പാറകളുടെ വിള്ളലുകളിലും കടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു

20. In that day shall the son of earth cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which had been made for him to worship, into the hole of the mice, and to the bats;

21. തങ്ങള് നമസ്കരിപ്പാന് വെള്ളികൊണ്ടും പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ മിത്ഥ്യാമൂര്ത്തികളെ മനുഷ്യര് ആ നാളില് തുരപ്പനെലിക്കും നരിച്ചീറിന്നും എറിഞ്ഞുകളയും

21. That he may enter into the clefts of the rocks, and into the fissures of the crags, Because of the terribleness of Yahweh, And for his majestic splendour, When he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.

22. മൂക്കില് ശ്വാസമുള്ള മനുഷ്യനെ വിട്ടൊഴിവിന് ; അവനെ എന്തു വിലമതിപ്പാനുള്ളു?

22. Cease ye from the son of earth, In whose nostrils is but a breath, For wherein to be reckoned upon, is he?
