1. പാപത്തോടു പാപം കൂട്ടുവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം എന്നെ കൂടാതെ ആലോചന കഴിക്കയും എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ കൂടാതെ സഖ്യത ചെയ്കയും

1. Woe be unto those shrinking children (sayeth the LORD) which seek counsel, but not at me: which take a web in hand, but not after my will: that they may heap one sin upon another.

2. ഫറവോന്റെ സംരക്ഷണയില് തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ സംരക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും മിസ്രയീമിന്റെ നിഴലില് ശരണം പ്രാപിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും എന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിക്കാതെ മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു പോകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന മത്സരമുള്ള മക്കള്ക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

2. They go down into Egypt, (and ask me no counsel) to seek help at he power of Pharaoh, and comfort in the shadow of the Egyptians.

3. എന്നാല് ഫറവോന്റെ സംരക്ഷണ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു നാണമായും മിസ്രയീമിന്റെ നിഴലിലെ ശരണം ലജ്ജയായും ഭവിക്കും.

3. But Pharaoh's help shall be your confusion, and the comfort in the Egyptian's shadow shall be your own shame.

4. അവന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് സോവനില് ആയി അവന്റെ ദൂതന്മാര് ഹാനേസില് എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

4. Your rulers have been at Zoan, and your messengers came unto Hanes.

5. അവര് ഒക്കെയും തങ്ങള്ക്കു ലജ്ജയും അപമാനവും അല്ലാതെ ഉപകാരമോ സഹായമോ പ്രയോജനമോ ഒന്നും വരാത്ത ഒരു ജാതിനിമിത്തം ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകും.

5. But ye shall all be ashamed of the people that may not help you, which shall not bring you strength or comfort, but shame and confusion.

6. തെക്കെ ദേശത്തിലെ മൃഗങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പ്രവാചകംസിംഹി, കേസരി, അണലി, പറക്കുന്ന അഗ്നിസര്പ്പം എന്നിവ വരുന്നതായി കഷ്ടവും ക്ളേശവും ഉള്ള ദേശത്തുകൂടി, അവര് ഇളം കഴുതപ്പുറത്തു തങ്ങളുടെ സമ്പത്തും ഒട്ടകപ്പുറത്തു തങ്ങളുടെ നിക്ഷേപങ്ങളും കയറ്റി തങ്ങള്ക്കു ഉപകാരം വരാത്ത ഒരു ജാതിയുടെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നു.

6. Your beasts have born burthens upon their backs toward the South, thorow the way that is full of peril and trouble, because of the lion and lioness,(lyo and lyones) of the Cockatrice and shooting(shutynge) dragon. Yea the Mules bare your substance, and the Camels brought your treasure upon their crooked backs, unto a people that can not help you.

7. മിസ്രയീമ്യരുടെ സഹായം വ്യര്ത്ഥവും നിഷ്ഫലവുമത്രെ; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അതിന്നുഅനങ്ങാതിരിക്കുന്ന സാഹസക്കാര് എന്നു പേര് വിളിക്കുന്നു.

7. For the Egyptian's help shall be but vain and lost. Therefore I told you also that your pride should have an end.

8. നീ ഇപ്പോള് ചെന്നു, വരുങ്കാലത്തേക്കു ഒരു ശാശ്വതസാക്ഷ്യമായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ മുമ്പാകെ അതിനെ ഒരു പലകയില് എഴുതി ഒരു രേഖയായി കുറിച്ചുവെക്കുക.

8. Wherefore go hence and write them this in their tables, and note it in a book: that it may remain by their posterity, and be still kept.

9. അവര് മത്സരമുള്ളോരു ജനവും ഭോഷകു പറയുന്നമക്കളും യഹോവയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അനുസരിക്കാത്ത സന്തതിയുമല്ലോ.

9. For it is an obstinate people, unfaithful children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD.

10. അവര് ദര്ശകന്മാരോടുദര്ശിക്കരുതു; പ്രവാചകന്മാരോടുനേരുള്ളതു ഞങ്ങളോടു പ്രവചിക്കരുതു; മധുരവാക്കു ഞങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിപ്പിന് ; വ്യാജങ്ങളെ പ്രവചിപ്പിന് ;

10. They dare say to the Prophets: Intromit yourselves with nothing, and unto the Soothsayers: tell us of nothing for to come, but speak friendly words unto us, and preach us false things.

11. വഴി വിട്ടു നടപ്പിന് ; പാത തെറ്റി നടപ്പിന് ; യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നീങ്ങുമാറാക്കുവിന് എന്നു പറയുന്നു.

11. Tread out of the way, go out of the path, turn the holy one of Israel from us.

12. ആകയാല് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധന് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിങ്ങള് ഈ വചനത്തെ നിരസിച്ചുകളകയും പീഡനത്തിലും വക്രതയിലും ആശ്രയിച്ചു ചാരിനില്ക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു കൊണ്ടു,

12. Therefore thus sayeth the holy one of Israel: In so much as ye have cast off your beauty, and comforted yourselves with power and nimbleness, and put your confidence therein:

13. ഈ അകൃത്യം നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഉയര്ന്ന ചുവരില് ഉന്തിനിലക്കുന്നതും പെട്ടന്നു ഒരു മാത്രകൊണ്ടു വീഴുന്നതും ആയ ഒരു പൊട്ടല് പോലെ ആയിരിക്കും.

13. therefore shall ye have this mischief again for your destruction and fall, like as an high wall, that falleth because of some rift (or blast) whose breaking cometh suddenly.

14. അടുപ്പില്നിന്നു തീ എടുപ്പാനോ കുളത്തില്നിന്നു വെള്ളം കോരുവാനോ കൊള്ളാകുന്ന ഒരു കഷണംപോലും ശേഷിക്കാതവണ്ണം ഒരുവന് കുശവന്റെ പൊട്ടക്കലം ഗണ്യമാക്കാതെ ഉടെച്ചുകളയുന്നതു പോലെ അവന് അതിനെ ഉടെച്ചുകളയും.

14. And your destruction shall be like as an earthen pot, which breaketh no man touching it, yea and breaketh so sore, that a man shall not find a shever of it to fetch fire in, or to take water withal out of the pit.

15. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനായി യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുമനന്തിരിഞ്ഞു അടങ്ങിയിരുന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും. വിശ്രമിക്കുന്നതിലും ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നതിലും നിങ്ങളുടെ ബലം; എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു മനസ്സാകാതെഅല്ല;

15. For the Lord GOD,(LORDE God) even the holy one of Israel hath promised this: With still sitting and rest shall ye be healed, in quietness and hope shall your strength lie.

16. ഞങ്ങള് കുതിരപ്പുറത്തു കയറി ഔടിപ്പോകും എന്നു നിങ്ങള് പറഞ്ഞു; അതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങള് ഔടിപ്പോകേണ്ടിവരും; ഞങ്ങള് തുരഗങ്ങളിന്മേല് കയറിപ്പോകും എന്നും പറഞ്ഞു; അതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളെ പിന്തുടരുന്നവരും വേഗതയുള്ളവരായിരിക്കും.

16. Notwithstanding ye regard it not, but ye will say: No, for thus are we constrained to flee upon horses. And therefore shall ye flee, we must ride upon swift beasts, and therefore your persecutors shall yet be swifter.

17. മലമുകളില് ഒരു കൊടിമരം പോലെയും കുന്നിമ്പുറത്തു ഒരു കൊടിപോലെയും നിങ്ങള് ശേഷിക്കുന്നതുവരെ, ഏകന്റെ ഭീഷണിയാല് ആയിരം പേരും അഞ്ചുപേരുടെ ഭീഷണിയാല് നിങ്ങള് ഒക്കെയും ഔടിപ്പോകും.

17. A thousand of you shall flee for one, or at the most for five, which do but only give you evil words: until ye be desolate, as a ship mast upon an high mountain, and as a beacon upon an hill.

18. അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ നിങ്ങളോടു കൃപ കാണിപ്പാന് താമസിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവന് നിങ്ങളോടു കരുണ കാണിക്കാതവണ്ണം ഉയര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവ ന്യായത്തിന്റെ ദൈവമല്ലോ; അവന്നായി കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നവരൊക്കെയും; ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാര്.

18. Yet standeth the LORD waiting, that he may have mercy upon you, and lifteth himself up, that he may receive you to grace. For the LORD God is righteous. Happy are all they that wait for him.

19. യെരൂശലേമ്യരായ സീയോന് നിവാസികളേ, ഇനി കരഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കേണ്ടാ; നിങ്ങളുടെ നിലവിളിയുടെ ശബ്ദത്തിങ്കല് അവന്നു നിശ്ചയമായിട്ടു കരുണ തോന്നും; അതു കേള്ക്കുമ്പോള് തന്നേ അവന് ഉത്തരം അരുളും.

19. For thus (O thou people of Sion and ye citizens of Jerusalem) shall ye never be in heaviness, for doubtless he will have mercy upon thee. As soon as he heareth the voice of thy cry, he will help thee.

20. കര്ത്താവു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കഷ്ടത്തിന്റെ അപ്പവും ഞെരുക്കത്തിന്റെ വെള്ളവും മാത്രം തന്നാലും ഇനി നിന്റെ ഉപദേഷ്ടാവു മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കയില്ല; നിന്റെ കണ്ണു നിന്റെ ഉപദേഷ്ടാവിനെ കണ്ടുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും.

20. The Lord(LORDE God) giveth you the bread of adversity, and the water of trouble. But thine instructor flyeth not far from thee, if thine eyes look unto thine instructor,

21. നിങ്ങള് വലത്തോട്ടോ ഇടത്തോട്ടോ തിരിയുമ്പോള്വഴി ഇതാകുന്നു, ഇതില് നടന്നുകൊള്വിന് എന്നൊരു വാക്കു പിറകില്നിന്നു കേള്ക്കും.

21. and thine ears harken to his word, that cryeth after thee and sayeth: this is the way, go this, and turn neither to the right hand nor to the left.

22. വെള്ളി പൊതിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന ബിംബങ്ങളെയും പൊന്നു പൊതിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും നിങ്ങള് അശുദ്ധമാക്കും; അവയെ മലിനമായോരു വസ്തുപോലെ എറിഞ്ഞുകളകയും പൊയ്ക്കൊ എന്നു പറകയും ചെയ്യും.

22. Moreover, if ye destroy the silver works of your Idols, and cast away the golden coapes that ye deck them withal (as filthiness) and say get you hence:

23. നീ നിലത്തു വിതെക്കുന്ന വിത്തിന്നു മഴയും നിലത്തിലെ വിളവായ അപ്പവും അവന് നിനക്കു തരും; അതു പുഷ്ടിയും സമൃദ്ധിയും ഉള്ളതായിരിക്കും; അന്നു നിന്റെ കന്നുകാലികള് വിസ്താരമായ മേച്ചല്പുറങ്ങളില് മേയും.

23. Then will he give rain to the seed, that ye shall sow in the earth, and give you bread of the increase of the earth, so that all shall be plenteous and abundant. Thy cattle also shall he feed in the broad meadows,

24. നിലം ഉഴുന്ന കാളകളും കഴുതകളും മുറംകൊണ്ടും പല്ലികൊണ്ടും വീശി വെടിപ്പാക്കിയതും ഉപ്പു ചേര്ത്തതുമായ തീന് തിന്നും.

24. yea thine oxen and Mules that till the ground, shall eat good fodder, which is purged with the fan.

25. മഹാസംഹാരദിവസത്തില് ഗോപുരങ്ങള് വീഴുമ്പോള്, ഉയരമുള്ള എല്ലാമലയിലും പൊക്കമുള്ള എല്ലാകുന്നിന്മേലും തോടുകളും നീരൊഴുക്കുകളും ഉണ്ടാകും.

25. Goodly rivers shall flow out of all his mountains and hills. In the day of the great slaughter when the towers shall fall,

26. യഹോവ തന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ മുറിവു കെട്ടുകയും അവരുടെ അടിപ്പിണര് പൊറുപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന നാളില് ചന്ദ്രന്റെ പ്രകാശം സൂര്യന്റെ പ്രകാശം പോലെയാകും; സൂര്യന്റെ പ്രകാശം ഏഴു പകലിന്റെ പ്രകാശംപോലെ ഏഴിരട്ടിയായിരിക്കും.

26. the moon shall shine as the sun, and the sunshine shall be seven fold, and have as much shine, as in seven days beside. In that day shall the LORD bind up the bruised sores of his people, and heal their wounds.

27. ഇതാ, കോപം ജ്വലിച്ചും കനത്ത പുക പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയുടെ നാമം ദൂരത്തുനിന്നു വരുന്നു; അവന്റെ അധരങ്ങളില് ഉഗ്രകോപം നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ നാവു ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്ന തീപോലെയും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

27. Behold, the glory of the LORD shall come from far, his face shall burn, that no man shall be able to abide it, his lips shall wag for very indignation, and his tongue shall be as a consuming fire.

28. ജാതികളെ നാശത്തിന്റെ അരിപ്പകൊണ്ടു അരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്റെ ശ്വാസം കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകുന്നതും കഴുത്തോളം വെള്ളമുള്ളതും ആയ തോടുപോലെയും ജാതികളുടെ വായില് അവരെ തെറ്റിച്ചുകളയുന്ന ഒരു കടിഞ്ഞാണായും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

28. His breath like a vehement flood of water, which goeth up to the throat. That he may take away the people, which have turned themselves unto vanity, and the bridle of error, that lieth in other folks chaws.

29. നിങ്ങള് ഉത്സവാഘോഷരാത്രിയില് എന്നപോലെ പാട്ടുപാടുകയും യഹോവയുടെ പര്വ്വതത്തില് യിസ്രായേലിന് പാറയായവന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നു കുഴലോടുകൂടെ പോകുംപോലെ ഹൃദയപൂര്വ്വം സന്തോഷിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

29. But ye shall sing, as the use is in the night of the holy solempnite. Ye shall rejoice from your heart, as they that come with the pipe, when they go up to the mount of the LORD, unto the rock of Israel.

30. യഹോവ തന്റെ മഹത്വമുള്ള മേഘനാദം കേള്പ്പിക്കയും ഉഗ്രകോപത്തോടും ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്ന അഗ്നിജ്വാലയോടും കൊടുങ്കാറ്റു മഴക്കോള്, കന്മഴ എന്നിവയോടും കൂടെ തന്റെ ഭുജത്തിന്റെ അവതരണം കാണിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

30. The LORD also shall set up the power of his voice, and declare his terrible arm, with his angry countenance, yea and the flame of the consuming fire, with earthquake, tempest of wind, and hailstones.

31. യഹോവയുടെ മേഘനാദത്താല് അശ്ശൂര് തകര്ന്നുപോകും; തന്റെ വടികൊണ്ടു അവന് അവനെ അടിക്കും.

31. Then shall the Assyrians(Assirian) fear also because of the voice of the LORD, which shall smite him with the rod.

32. യഹോവ അവനെ വിധിദണ്ഡുകൊണ്ടു അടിക്കുന്ന ഔരോ അടിയോടും കൂടെ തപ്പിന്റെയും കിന്നരത്തിന്റെയും നാദം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും; അവന് അവരോടു തകര്ത്ത പടവെട്ടും.

32. And the same rod which the LORD will send upon him, shall move the whole foundation: with trumpet, with noise of war and battle to destroy.

33. പണ്ടു തന്നേ ഒരു ദഹനസ്ഥലം ഒരുക്കീട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ; അതു രാജാവിന്നായിട്ടും ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന് അതിനെ ആഴവും വിശാലവും ആക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ ചിതയില് വളരെ തീയും വിറകും ഉണ്ടു; യഹോവയുടെ ശ്വാസം ഒരു ഗന്ധകനദിപോലെ അതിനെ കത്തിക്കും.

33. For he hath prepared the fire of pain from the beginning, yea even for kings also. This hath he made deep and wide, the nourishing thereof is fire and wood innumerable which the breath of the(ofte) LORD kindleth, as it were a match of brimstone.
