1. ആ കാലത്തു ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്നു മരിക്കത്തക്ക രോഗം പിടിച്ചു; ആമോസിന്റെ മകനായ യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു അവനോടുനിന്റെ ഗൃഹകാര്യം ക്രമത്തിലാക്കുക; നീ മരിച്ചുപോകും; സൌഖ്യമാകയില്ല എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

1. About this time King Hezekiah became sick and almost died. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to see him and said to him, 'The LORD tells you that you are to put everything in order because you will not recover. Get ready to die.'

2. അപ്പോള് ഹിസ്കീയാവു മുഖം ചുവരിന്റെ നേരെ തിരിച്ചു യഹോവയോടു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു

2. Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed:

3. അയ്യോ, യഹോവേ, ഞാന് വിശ്വസ്തതയോടും ഏകാഗ്രഹൃദയത്തോടും കൂടെ തിരുമുമ്പില് നടന്നു നിനക്കു പ്രസാദമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഔര്ക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; ഹിസ്കീയാവു ഏറ്റവും കരഞ്ഞു.

3. 'Remember, LORD, that I have served you faithfully and loyally, and that I have always tried to do what you wanted me to.' And he began to cry bitterly.

4. എന്നാല് യെശയ്യാവിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

4. Then the LORD commanded Isaiah

5. നീ ചെന്നു ഹിസ്കീയാവോടു പറയേണ്ടതുനിന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന് നിന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കേട്ടു നിന്റെ കണ്ണുനിര് കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. ഞാന് നിന്റെ ആയുസ്സിനോടു പതിനഞ്ചു സംവത്സരം കൂട്ടും.

5. to go back to Hezekiah and say to him, 'I, the LORD, the God of your ancestor David, have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will let you live fifteen years longer.

6. ഞാന് നിന്നെയും ഈ നഗരത്തെയും അശ്ശൂര്രാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു വിടുവിക്കും; ഈ നഗരത്തെ ഞാന് കാത്തുരക്ഷിക്കും.

6. I will rescue you and this city of Jerusalem from the emperor of Assyria, and I will continue to protect the city.'

7. യഹോവ, താന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത ഈ കാര്യം നിവര്ത്തിക്കും എന്നുള്ളതിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ പക്കല്നിന്നു ഇതു നിനക്കു ഒരു അടയാളം ആകും.

7. Isaiah replied, 'The LORD will give you a sign to prove that he will keep his promise.

8. ആഹാസിന്റെ ഘടികാരത്തില് സൂര്യഗതി അനുസരിച്ചു ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്ന നിഴലിനെ ഞാന് പത്തു പടി പിന്നോക്കം തിരിയുമാറാക്കും; ഇങ്ങനെ സൂര്യന് ഘടികാരത്തില് ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോയിരുന്ന പത്തു പടി തിരിഞ്ഞു പോന്നു.

8. On the stairway built by King Ahaz, the LORD will make the shadow go back ten steps.' And the shadow moved back ten steps.

9. യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്നു രോഗം പിടിച്ചിട്ടു അതു മാറി സുഖമായ ശേഷം അവന് എഴുതിയ എഴുത്തു

9. After Hezekiah recovered from his illness, he wrote this song of praise:

10. എന്റെ ആയുസ്സിന് മദ്ധ്യാഹ്നത്തില് ഞാന് പാതാളവാതിലകം പൂകേണ്ടിവരുന്നു; എന്റെ ആണ്ടുകളുടെ ശേഷിപ്പും എനിക്കില്ലാതെ പോയി എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞു.

10. I thought that in the prime of life I was going to the world of the dead, Never to live out my life.

11. ഞാന് യഹോവയെ, ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ ദേശത്തുവെച്ചു യഹോവയെ കാണുകയില്ല; ഞാന് ഭൂവാസികളുടെ ഇടയില്വെച്ചു ഇനി മനുഷ്യനെ കാണുകയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞു.

11. I thought that in this world of the living I would never again see the LORD Or any living person.

12. എന്റെ പാര്പ്പിടം നീങ്ങി ഒരു ഇടയക്കൂടാരം പോലെ എന്നെ വിട്ടുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു; നെയ്ത്തുകാരന് തുണി ചുരുട്ടുംപോലെ ഞാന് എന്റെ ജീവനെ ചുരുട്ടിവെക്കുന്നു; അവന് എന്നെ പാവില്നിന്നു അറുത്തുകളയുന്നു; ഒരു രാപകല് കഴിയുംമുമ്പെ നീ എനിക്കു അന്തംവരുത്തുന്നു.

12. My life was cut off and ended, Like a tent that is taken down, Like cloth that is cut from a loom. I thought that God was ending my life.

13. ഉഷസ്സുവരെ ഞാന് എന്നെത്തന്നേ അടക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; അവനോ സിംഹംപോലെ എന്റെ അസ്ഥികളെ എല്ലാം തകര്ത്തുകളയുന്നു; ഒരു രാപകല് കഴിയുംമുമ്പെ നീ എനിക്കു അന്തം വരുത്തുന്നു.

13. All night I cried out with pain, As if a lion were breaking my bones. I thought that God was ending my life.

14. മീവല്പക്ഷിയോ കൊക്കോ എന്ന പോലെ ഞാന് ചിലെച്ചു; ഞാന് പ്രാവുപോലെ കുറുകി എന്റെ കണ്ണു ഉയരത്തിലേക്കു നോക്കി ക്ഷീണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവേ ഞാന് ഞെരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ എനിക്കു ഇട നില്ക്കേണമേ.

14. My voice was thin and weak, And I moaned like a dove. My eyes grew tired from looking to heaven. LORD, rescue me from all this trouble.

15. ഞാന് എന്തു പറയേണ്ടു? അവന് എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു, അവന് തന്നേ നിവര്ത്തിച്ചും ഇരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ മനോവ്യസനം ഹേതുവായി ഞാന് എന്റെ കാലമൊക്കെയും സാവധാനത്തോടെ നടക്കും.

15. What can I say? The LORD has done this. My heart is bitter, and I cannot sleep.

16. കര്ത്താവേ, അതിനാല് മനുഷ്യര് ജീവിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ജീവനും കേവലം അതിലത്രേ; അങ്ങനെ നീ എന്നെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി എന്റെ ജീവനെ രക്ഷിക്കും.

16. Lord, I will live for you, for you alone; Heal me and let me live.

17. സമാധാനത്തിന്നായി എനിക്കു അത്യന്തം കൈപ്പായതു ഭവിച്ചു; എങ്കിലും നീ എന്റെ സകലപാപങ്ങളെയും നിന്റെ പിറകില് എറിഞ്ഞുകളഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ നാശകൂഴിയില്നിന്നു സ്നേഹത്തോടെ രക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

17. My bitterness will turn into peace. You save my life from all danger; You forgive all my sins.

18. പാതാളം നിന്നെ സ്തുതിക്കുന്നില്ല; മരണം നിന്നെ വാഴ്ത്തുന്നില്ല; കുഴിയില് ഇറങ്ങുന്നവര് നിന്റെ വിശ്വസ്തതയെ പ്രത്യാശിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

18. No one in the world of the dead can praise you; The dead cannot trust in your faithfulness.

19. ഞാന് ഇന്നു ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ ജീവനുള്ളവന് , ജീവനുള്ളവന് മാത്രം നിന്നെ സ്തുതിക്കും; അപ്പന് മക്കളോടു നിന്റെ വിശ്വസ്തയെ അറിയിക്കും.

19. It is the living who praise you, As I praise you now. Parents tell their children how faithful you are.

20. യഹോവ എന്നെ രക്ഷിപ്പാന് ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞങ്ങള് ജീവപര്യന്തം യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് തന്ത്രിനാദത്തോടെ എന്റെ ഗീതങ്ങളെ പാടും.

20. LORD, you have healed me. We will play harps and sing your praise, Sing praise in your Temple as long as we live.

21. എന്നാല് അവന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരേണ്ടതിന്നു അത്തിപ്പഴക്കട്ട കൊണ്ടുവന്നു പരുവിന്മേല് പുരട്ടുവാന് യെശയ്യാവു പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.

21. Isaiah told the king to put a paste made of figs on his boil, and he would get well.

22. ഞാന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് കയറിച്ചെല്ലും എന്നതിന്നു അടയാളം എന്തു എന്നു ഹിസ്കീയാവു ചോദിച്ചിരുന്നു.

22. Then King Hezekiah asked, 'What is the sign to prove that I will be able to go to the Temple?'
