1. ആ കാലത്തു ബലദാന്റെ മകനായ മെരോദക്-ബലദാന് എന്ന ബാബേല് രാജാവു ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്നു രോഗം പിടിച്ചിട്ടു സുഖമായി എന്നു കേട്ടതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്നു എഴുത്തും സമ്മാനവും കൊടുത്തയച്ചു.

1. At that time Merodach Baladan son of Baladan was king of Babylon. He sent some men with letters and a gift to Hezekiah when he heard that Hezekiah had been sick.

2. ഹിസ്കീയാവു അവരെക്കുറിച്ചു സന്തോഷിച്ചു തന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരഗൃഹവും പൊന്നും വെള്ളിയും സുഗന്ധവര്ഗ്ഗവും പരിമളതൈലവും ആയുധശാല ഒക്കെയും തന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരത്തിലുള്ള സകലവും അവരെ കാണിച്ചു; തന്റെ രാജധാനിയിലും തന്റെ ആധിപത്യത്തില് പെട്ട സകലത്തിലും ഹിസ്കീയാവു അവരെ കാണിക്കാത്ത ഒരു വസ്തുവും ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു.

2. This made Hezekiah very happy, so he showed them all the valuable things in his storehouses. He showed them the silver, the gold, the spices, and the expensive perfumes. He showed them the building where he stored the weapons. He showed them everything in his treasuries and everything in his house and throughout his kingdom.

3. അപ്പോള് യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന് ഹിസ്കീയാരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു അവനോടുഈ പുരുഷന്മാര് എന്തു പറഞ്ഞു? അവര് എവിടെനിന്നു നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു ഹിസ്കീയാവുഅവര് ഒരു ദൂരദേശത്തുനിന്നു, ബാബേലില്നിന്നു തന്നേ; എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

3. Then Isaiah the prophet went to King Hezekiah and asked him, 'What did these men say? Where did they come from?' Hezekiah said, 'These men came all the way from Babylon just to see me.'

4. അവര് നിന്റെ രാജധാനിയില് എന്തെല്ലാം കണ്ടു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു ഹിസ്കീയാവുഎന്റെ രാജധാനിയില് ഉള്ളതൊക്കെയും അവര് കണ്ടു; എന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരത്തില് ഞാന് അവരെ കാണിക്കാത്ത ഒരു വസ്തുവും ഇല്ല എന്നുത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

4. So Isaiah asked him, 'What did they see in your house?' Hezekiah said, 'They saw everything in my palace. I showed them all my wealth.'

5. അപ്പോള് യെശയ്യാവു ഹിസ്കീയാവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുസൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേട്ടുകൊള്ക

5. Then Isaiah said this to Hezekiah, 'Listen to this message from the Lord All- Powerful.

6. നിന്റെ രാജധാനിയില് ഉള്ളതൊക്കെയും നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് ഇന്നുവരെ ശേഖരിച്ചുവെച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതും ഒട്ടൊഴിയാതെ ബാബേലിലേക്കു എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്ന കാലം വരുന്നു!

6. 'The time is coming when everything in your house and everything your ancestors have saved until today will be carried away to Babylon. Nothing will be left!' The Lord All-Powerful said this.

7. നീ ജനിപ്പിച്ചവരായി നിന്നില്നിന്നുത്ഭവിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരിലും ചിലരെ അവര് കൊണ്ടുപോകും; അവര് ബാബേല്രാജാവിന്റെ രാജധാനിയില് ഷണ്ഡന്മാരായിരിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

7. The Babylonians will take your own sons, and your sons will become officers in the palace of the king of Babylon.'

8. അതിന്നു ഹിസ്കീയാവു യെശയ്യാവോടുനീ പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന യഹോവയുടെ വചനം നല്ലതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; എങ്കിലും എന്റെ ജീവകാലത്തു സമാധാനവും സത്യവും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുമല്ലോ എന്നും അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

8. Then Hezekiah told Isaiah, 'This message from the Lord is good.' (Hezekiah said this because he thought, 'There will be real peace and security during my lifetime.')
