1. യഹോവയിങ്കല്നിന്നു യിരെമ്യാവിന്നുണ്ടായ അരുളപ്പാടു

1. Hear the word which the LORD speaks to you, O house of Israel.

2. ഈ നിയമത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ നിങ്ങള് കേട്ടു യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരോടും യെരൂശലേംനിവാസികളോടും പ്രസ്താവിപ്പിന് .

2. Thus says the LORD: 'Do not learn the way of the Gentiles; Do not be dismayed at the signs of heaven, For the Gentiles are dismayed at them.

3. നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാല്യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഈ നിയമത്തിന് വചനങ്ങളെ കേട്ടനുസരിക്കാത്ത മനുഷ്യന് ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവന് .

3. For the customs of the peoples [are] futile; For [one] cuts a tree from the forest, The work of the hands of the workman, with the ax.

4. അവയെ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു അവരെ ഇരിമ്പുചൂളയായ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നാളില് കല്പിച്ചുനിങ്ങള് എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടനുസരിച്ചു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്വിന് ; എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് എനിക്കു ജനവും ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ദൈവവും ആയിരിക്കും എന്നരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

4. They decorate it with silver and gold; They fasten it with nails and hammers So that it will not topple.

5. ഇന്നുള്ളതുപോലെ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും പാലും തേനും ഒഴുകുന്ന ദേശം കൊടുക്കും എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഞാന് അവരോടു ചെയ്ത സത്യം നിവര്ത്തിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ. അതിന്നു ഞാന് ആമേന് , യഹോവേ, എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

5. They [are] upright, like a palm tree, And they cannot speak; They must be carried, Because they cannot go [by themselves.] Do not be afraid of them, For they cannot do evil, Nor can they do any good.'

6. അപ്പോള് യഹോവ എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുനീ യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങളിലും യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ വീഥികളിലും ഈ വചനങ്ങളെ ഒക്കെയും വിളിച്ചുപറകഈ നിയമത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ കേട്ടു ചെയ്തുകൊള്വിന് .

6. Inasmuch as [there is] none like You, O LORD (You [are] great, and Your name [is] great in might),

7. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നാളിലും ഇന്നുവരെയും ഞാന് അതികാലത്തും ഇടവിടാതെയും അവരോടുഎന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്പ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

7. Who would not fear You, O King of the nations? For this is Your rightful due. For among all the wise [men] of the nations, And in all their kingdoms, [There is] none like You.

8. അവരോ അനുസരിക്കയും ചെവി ചായ്ക്കയും ചെയ്യാതെ ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ ദുഷ്ടഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ ശാഠ്യപ്രകാരം നടന്നു; ആകയാല് ഞാന് അവരോടു ചെയ്വാന് കല്പിച്ചതും അവര് ചെയ്യാതെയിരുന്നതുമായ ഈ നിയമത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ ഒക്കെയും ഞാന് അവരുടെ മേല് വരുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

8. But they are altogether dull-hearted and foolish; A wooden idol [is] a worthless doctrine.

9. യഹോവ പിന്നെയും എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുയെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിലും യെരൂശലേംനിവാസികളുടെ ഇടയിലും ഒരു കൂട്ടുകെട്ടു കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

9. Silver is beaten into plates; It is brought from Tarshish, And gold from Uphaz, The work of the craftsman And of the hands of the metalsmith; Blue and purple [are] their clothing; They [are] all the work of skillful [men.]

10. അവര് എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ കേട്ടനുസരിക്കാത്ത പൂര്വ്വപിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങളിലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു, അന്യദേവന്മാരെ സേവിപ്പാന് അവരോടു ചേര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു ചെയ്ത നിയമം യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹവും യെഹൂദാഗൃഹവും ലംഘിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

10. But the LORD [is] the true God; He [is] the living God and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth will tremble, And the nations will not be able to endure His indignation.

11. അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുവാന് കഴിയാത്ത ഒരനര്ത്ഥം ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും വരുത്തും; അവര് എന്നോടു നിലവിളിച്ചാലും ഞാന് കേള്ക്കയില്ല.

11. Thus you shall say to them: 'The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth and from under these heavens.'

12. അപ്പോള് യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങളും യെരൂശലേംനിവാസികളും ചെന്നു, തങ്ങള് ധൂപം കാട്ടിവന്ന ദേവന്മാരോടു നിലവിളിക്കും; എങ്കിലും അവര് അവരെ അനര്ത്ഥകാലത്തു രക്ഷിക്കയില്ല.

12. He has made the earth by His power, He has established the world by His wisdom, And has stretched out the heavens at His discretion.

13. യെഹൂദയേ, നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളുടെ എണ്ണത്തോളം നിനക്കു ദേവന്മാരുണ്ടു; യെരൂശലേമിലെ വീഥികളുടെ എണ്ണത്തോളം നിങ്ങള് ആ ലജ്ജാവിഗ്രഹത്തിന്നു ബലിപീഠങ്ങളെ, ബാലിന്നു ധൂപം കാട്ടുവാനുള്ള പീഠങ്ങളെ തന്നേ തീര്ത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

13. When He utters His voice, [There is] a multitude of waters in the heavens: 'And He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning for the rain, He brings the wind out of His treasuries.'

14. ആകയാല് നീ ഈ ജനത്തിന്നുവേണ്ടി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കരുതു; അവര്ക്കും വേണ്ടി യാചനയോ പക്ഷവാദമോ കഴിക്കയുമരുതു; അവര് അനര്ത്ഥംനിമിത്തം എന്നോടു നിലവിളിക്കുമ്പോള് ഞാന് കേള്ക്കയില്ല.
റോമർ 1:22

14. Everyone is dull-hearted, without knowledge; Every metalsmith is put to shame by an image; For his molded image [is] falsehood, And [there is] no breath in them.

15. എന്റെ പ്രിയെക്കു എന്റെ ആലയത്തില് എന്തു കാര്യം? അവള് പലരോടുംകൂടെ ദുഷ്കര്മ്മം ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ; വിശുദ്ധമാംസം നിന്നെ വിട്ടുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു; ദോഷം ചെയ്യുമ്പോള് നീ ഉല്ലസിക്കുന്നു.

15. They [are] futile, a work of errors; In the time of their punishment they shall perish.

16. മനോഹര ഫലങ്ങളാല് ശോഭിതമായ പച്ച ഒലിവുവൃക്ഷം എന്നു യഹോവ നിനക്കു പേര്വിളിച്ചിരുന്നു; എന്നാല് മഹാകോലാഹലത്തോടെ അവന് അതിന്നു തീ വെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളും ഒടിഞ്ഞു കിടക്കുന്നു.

16. The Portion of Jacob [is] not like them, For He [is] the Maker of all [things,] And Israel [is] the tribe of His inheritance; The LORD of hosts [is] His name.

17. യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹവും യെഹൂദാഗൃഹവും ബാലിന്നു ധൂപം കാട്ടി എന്നെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചതില് ദോഷം പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചിരിക്കയാല് നിന്നെ നട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അനര്ത്ഥം വിധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

17. Gather up your wares from the land, O inhabitant of the fortress!

18. യഹോവ എനിക്കു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയതിനാല് ഞാന് അതു അറിഞ്ഞു; അന്നു നീ അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെ എനിക്കു കാണിച്ചുതന്നു.

18. For thus says the LORD: 'Behold, I will throw out at this time The inhabitants of the land, And will distress them, That they may find [it so.']

19. ഞാനോ അറുപ്പാന് കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്ന മരുക്കമുള്ള കുഞ്ഞാടുപോലെ ആയിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ പേര് ആരും ഔര്ക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നാം വൃക്ഷത്തെ ഫലത്തോടുകൂടെ നശിപ്പിച്ചു ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളക എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവര് എന്റെ നേരെ ഉപായം നിരൂപിച്ചതു ഞാന് അറിഞ്ഞതുമില്ല.

19. Woe is me for my hurt! My wound is severe. But I say, 'Truly this [is] an infirmity, And I must bear it.'

20. നീതിയോടെ ന്യായംവിധിക്കയും അന്തരംഗവും ഹൃദയവും ശോധനകഴിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവേ, നീ അവരോടു ചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രതികാരം ഞാന് കാണുമാറാകട്ടെ; ഞാന് എന്റെ വ്യവഹാരം നിന്നെ ബോധിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

20. My tent is plundered, And all my cords are broken; My children have gone from me, And they [are] no more. [There is] no one to pitch my tent anymore, Or set up my curtains.

21. അതുകൊണ്ടുനീ ഞങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യാല് മരിക്കാതെയിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് പ്രവചിക്കരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു നിനക്കു പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുവാന് നോക്കുന്ന അനാഥോത്തുകാരെക്കുറിച്ചു യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു

21. For the shepherds have become dull-hearted, And have not sought the LORD; Therefore they shall not prosper, And all their flocks shall be scattered.

22. ഞാന് അവരെ സന്ദര്ശിക്കും; യൌവനക്കാര് വാള്കൊണ്ടു മരിക്കും; അവരുടെ പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും ക്ഷാമംകൊണ്ടു മരിക്കും.

22. Behold, the noise of the report has come, And a great commotion out of the north country, To make the cities of Judah desolate, a den of jackals.

23. ഞാന് അനാഥോത്തുകാരെ സന്ദര്ശിക്കുന്ന കാലത്തു അവര്ക്കും അനര്ത്ഥം വരുത്തുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവരില് ഒരു ശേഷിപ്പും ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

23. O LORD, I know the way of man [is] not in himself; [It is] not in man who walks to direct his own steps.
