1. യോശീയാവിന്റെ മകനായി യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോയാക്കീമിന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ ആരംഭത്തിങ്കല് യഹോവയിങ്കല്നിന്നുണ്ടായ അരുളപ്പാടാവിതു;

1. This is the word that came to Yirmeyahu concerning all the people of Y'hudah in the fourth year of Y'hoyakim the son of Yoshiyahu, king of Y'hudah; this was also the first year of N'vukhadretzar king of Bavel.

2. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനീ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ പ്രാകാരത്തില് നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു, യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് നമസ്കരിപ്പാന് വരുന്ന സകല യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങളോടും പ്രസ്താവിപ്പാന് ഞാന് നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്ന സകലവചനങ്ങളെയും അവരോടു പ്രസ്താവിക്ക; ഒരു വാക്കും വിട്ടുകളയരുതു.

2. Yirmeyahu the prophet proclaimed it before all the people of Y'hudah and all the inhabitants of Yerushalayim:

3. അവരുടെ ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തികള്നിമിത്തം ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും വരുത്തുവാന് വിചാരിക്കുന്ന അനര്ത്ഥത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ഞാന് അനുതപിക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം പക്ഷേ അവര് കേട്ടു ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ ദുര്മ്മാര്ഗ്ഗം വിട്ടുതിരിയുമായിരിക്കും.

3. 'For twenty-three years, since the thirteenth year of Yoshiyahu the son of Amon, king of Y'hudah, until today, the word of ADONAI has come to me; and I have proclaimed it to you on numerous occasions; but you haven't listened.

4. എന്നാല് നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതുയഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന് ഇടവിടാതെ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചു പറയിച്ചിട്ടും നിങ്ങള് കൂട്ടാക്കാതിരുന്ന എന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ വചനങ്ങളെ കേള്പ്പാനും

4. Moreover, ADONAI sent you all his servants the prophets- again, on numerous occasions- but you didn't listen or pay attention.

5. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില് വെച്ച എന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ അനുസരിച്ചുനടപ്പാനും നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കയില്ലെങ്കില്,

5. The message was always: 'Every one of you, turn back from his evil way, from the evil of your actions. Then you will live in the land ADONAI gave you and your ancestors forever and ever.

6. ഞാന് ഈ ആലയത്തെ ശീലോവിന്നു തുല്യമാക്കി ഈ നഗരത്തെ ഭൂമിയിലുള്ള സകല ജാതികള്ക്കും ശാപവാക്യമാക്കിത്തീര്ക്കും.

6. Don't follow other gods by serving and worshipping them. 'Don't provoke my anger with things your own hands have made; then I will do you no harm.

7. യിരെമ്യാവു ഈ വാക്കുകളെ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില്വെച്ചു പറയുന്നതു പുരോഹിതന്മാരും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും സകല ജനവും കേട്ടു.

7. But you wouldn't listen to me,' says ADONAI, 'so that you could provoke me with the products of your hands, to your own harm.'

8. എന്നാല് സകലജനത്തോടും പ്രസ്താവിപ്പാന് യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നതൊക്കെയും യിരെമ്യാവു പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു തീര്ന്നശേഷം, പുരോഹിതന്മാരും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും സകലജനവും അവനെ പിടിച്ചുനീ മരിക്കേണം നിശ്ചയം;

8. 'Therefore, here is what ADONAI-[Tzva'ot] says: 'Because you haven't paid attention to what I've been saying,

9. ഈ ആലയം ശീലോവിന്നു തുല്യമാകും, ഈ നഗരം നിവാസികള് ഇല്ലാതെ ശൂന്യമാകും എന്നു നീ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് പ്രവചിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതെന്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ജനമൊക്കെയും യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് യിരെമ്യാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു കൂടി.

9. I'm going to send for all the families of the north,' says ADONAI, 'and for my servant N'vukhadretzar the king of Bavel, and bring them against this land, against its inhabitants and against all the surrounding nations. I will completely destroy them, making them an object of horror and ridicule, a perpetual ruin.

10. ഈ കാര്യം യെഹൂദാപ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് കേട്ടാറെ, അവര് രാജാവിന്റെ അരമനയില് നിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കു കയറിച്ചെന്നു, യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ പുതിയ പടിവാതിലിന്റെ പ്രവേശനത്തിങ്കല് ഇരുന്നു.

10. Moreover, I will silence among them the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bridegroom and bride, the grinding of millstones and the light of lamps.

11. പുരോഹിതന്മാരും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടും സകലജനത്തോടുംഈ മനുഷ്യന് മരണയോഗ്യന് ; അവന് ഈ നഗരത്തിന്നു വിരോധമായി പ്രവചിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു നിങ്ങള് സ്വന്തചെവികൊണ്ടു കേട്ടുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

11. This entire land will become a ruin, a waste; and these nations will serve the king of Bavel for seventy years.

12. അതിന്നു യിരെമ്യാവു സകലപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടും സര്വ്വജനത്തോടും പറഞ്ഞതുനിങ്ങള് കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന വാക്കുകളൊക്കെയും ഈ ആലയത്തിന്നും ഈ നഗരത്തിന്നും വിരോധമായി പ്രവചിപ്പാന് യഹോവ എന്നെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. But when the seventy years are over, I will punish the king of Bavel and that nation for their sin,' says ADONAI, 'and I will turn the land of the Kasdim into everlasting ruins.

13. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളുടെ നടപ്പും പ്രവൃത്തികളും നന്നാക്കി, നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ വാക്കു കേട്ടനുസരിപ്പിന് ; എന്നാല് യഹോവ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വിരോധമായി അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന അനര്ത്ഥത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു അനുതപിക്കും.

13. I will inflict on that land all my words that I have decreed against it, everything written in this book, in which Yirmeyahu has prophesied against all the nations.

14. ഞാനോ ഇതാ നിങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യില് ഇരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഇഷ്ടവും ന്യായവും ആയി തോന്നുന്നതുപോലെ എന്നോടു ചെയ്തുകൊള്വിന് .

14. For they too will become slaves to many nations and to powerful kings; I will pay them back according to their deeds and the work of their own hands.'

15. എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങള് എന്നെ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞാല്, നിങ്ങള് കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത രക്തം നിങ്ങളുടെ മേലും ഈ നഗരത്തിന്മേലും അതിലെ നിവാസികളുടെ മേലും വരുത്തും എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞുകൊള്വിന് ; നിങ്ങള് കേള്ക്കേ ഈ വാക്കുകളൊക്കെയും പ്രസ്താവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവ എന്നെ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു സത്യം.

15. 'For here is what ADONAI the God of Isra'el says to me: 'Take this cup of the wine of fury from my hand, and make all the nations where I am sending you drink it.

16. അപ്പോള് പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും സകലജനവും പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടും പ്രവാചകന്മാരോടുംഈ മനുഷ്യന് മരണയോഗ്യനല്ല; അവന് നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് അല്ലോ നമ്മോടു സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

16. They will drink, stagger to and fro and behave like crazy people because of the sword that I will send among them.''

17. അനന്തരം ദേശത്തിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാരില് ചിലര് എഴുന്നേറ്റു ജനത്തിന്റെ സര്വ്വസംഘത്തോടും പറഞ്ഞതു

17. Then I took the cup from ADONAI's hand and made all the nations drink, where ADONAI had sent me-

18. യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്റെ കാലത്തു മോരഷ്ട്യനായ മീഖായാവു സകലയെഹൂദാജനത്തോടും പ്രവചിച്ചുസീയോനേ വയല് പോലെ ഉഴുതുകളയും; യെരൂശലേം കലക്കുന്നായും ഈ ആലയമുള്ള പര്വ്വതം വനാന്തരഗിരികളായും തീരും എന്നിങ്ങനെ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

18. Yerushalayim and the cities of Y'hudah, along with their kings and leaders, to make them a ruin and an object of horror, ridicule and cursing, as it is today;

19. യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ഹിസ്കീയാവും സര്വ്വയെഹൂദയും അവനെ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞുവോ? അവന് യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു, യഹോവയോടു ക്ഷമ യാചിക്കയും താന് അവര്ക്കും വരുത്തുമെന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരുന്ന അനര്ത്ഥത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു യഹോവ അനുതപിക്കയും ചെയ്തില്ലയോ? നാമോ നമ്മുടെ പ്രാണന്നു വലിയോരു അനര്ത്ഥം വരുത്തുവാന് പോകുന്നു.

19. Pharaoh king of Egypt, with his servants and leaders and all his people, both native

20. അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ കിര്യ്യത്ത്--യെയാരീമില്നിന്നുള്ള ശെമയ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ ഊരീയാവു എന്നൊരുത്തന് യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് പ്രവചിച്ചു; അവന് യിരെമ്യാവിന്റെ സകലവാക്കുകളെയുംപോലെ ഈ നഗരത്തിന്നും ഈ ദേശത്തിന്നും വിരോധമായി പ്രവചിച്ചു.

20. and foreign; all the kings of the land of 'Utz; all the kings of the land of the P'lishtim, Ashkelon, 'Azah, 'Ekron and those remaining in Ashdod;

21. യെഹോയാക്കീംരാജാവു അവന്റെ സകലയുദ്ധവീരന്മാരും സകലപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും അവന്റെ വാക്കുകളെ കേട്ടപ്പോള്, രാജാവു അവനെ കൊന്നുകളവാന് വിചാരിച്ചു; ഊരീയാവു അതു കേട്ടു ഭയപ്പെട്ടു മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു ഔടിപ്പോയി.

21. Edom, Mo'av, and the people of 'Amon;

22. യെഹോയാക്കീംരാജാവു ചില ആളുകളെ, അഖ്ബോരിന്റെ മകനായ എല്നാഥാനെയും അവനോടുകൂടെ മറ്റു ചിലരെയും മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു അയച്ചു.

22. all the kings of Tzor, of Tzidon and of the coastlands across the sea;

23. അവര് ഊരീയാവെ മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു യെഹോയാക്കീംരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവന് അവനെ വാള്കൊണ്ടു കൊന്നു അവന്റെ ശവത്തെ സാമാന്യജനത്തിന്റെ ശ്മശാനത്തില് ഇട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.

23. D'dan, Teima, Buz and all who cut the corners of their beards;

24. എന്നാല് യിരെമ്യാവെ ജനത്തിന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിച്ചു കൊല്ലാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ശാഫാന്റെ മകനായ അഹീക്കാം അവന്നു പിന്തുണയായിരുന്നു

24. all the kings of Arabia and of the mixed peoples living in the desert;
