1. യോശീയാവിന്റെ മകനായി യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോയാക്കീമിന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ ആരംഭത്തിങ്കല് യഹോവയിങ്കല്നിന്നു യിരെമ്യാവിന്നുണ്ടായ അരുളപ്പാടു എന്തെന്നാല്

1. In the beginning of the reign of Joakim the son of Josias king of Juda, came this word from the Lord, saying:

2. യഹോവ എന്നോടു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തുനീ കയറും നുകവും ഉണ്ടാക്കി നിന്റെ കഴുത്തില് വെക്കുക.

2. Thus saith the Lord: Stand in the court of the house of the Lord, and speak to all the cities of Juda, out of which they come, to adore in the house of the Lord, all the words which I have commanded thee to to speak unto them: leave not out one word.

3. പിന്നെ അവയെ യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ സിദെക്കീയാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുന്ന ദൂതന്മാരുടെ കയ്യില് എദോംരാജാവിന്നും മോവാബ് രാജാവിന്നും അമ്മോന്യരുടെ രാജാവിന്നും സോര്രാജാവിന്നും സീദോന് രാജാവിന്നും കൊടുത്തയച്ചു,

3. If so be they will hearken and be converted every one from his evil way; that I may repent me of the evil that I think to do unto them for the wickedness of their doings.

4. തങ്ങളുടെ യജമാനന്മാരോടു പറവാന് നീ അവരോടു കല്പിക്കേണ്ടതുയിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രാകരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിങ്ങളുടെ യജമാനന്മാരോടു ഇപ്രാകരം പറവിന്

4. And thou shalt say to them: Thus saith the Lord: If you will not hearken to me to walk in my law, which I have given to you:

5. ഞാന് ഭൂമിയെയും ഭൂതലത്തിലെ മനുഷ്യനെയും മൃഗങ്ങളെയും എന്റെ മഹാശക്തികൊണ്ടും നീട്ടിയ ഭുജംകൊണ്ടും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; എനിക്കു ബോധിച്ചവന്നു ഞാന് അതു കൊടുക്കും.

5. To give ear to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I sent to you rising up early: and sending, and you have not hearkened:

6. ഇപ്പോഴോ ഞാന് ഈ ദേശങ്ങളെ ഒക്കെയും എന്റെ ദാസനായി ബാബേല്രാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസരിന്റെ കയ്യില് കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; അവനെ സേവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വയലിലെ മൃഗങ്ങളെയും ഞാന് അവന്നു കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

6. I will make this house like Silo: and I will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.

7. സകലജാതികളും അവനെയും അവന്റെ മകനെയും മകന്റെ മകനെയും അവന്റെ ദേശത്തിന്റെ കാലാവധിയാകുവോളം സേവിക്കും; അതിന്റെ ശേഷം അനേകം ജാതികളും വലിയ രാജാക്കന്മാരും അവനെക്കൊണ്ടും സേവ ചെയ്യിക്കും.

7. And the priests, and the prophets, and all the people heard Jeremias speaking these words in the house of the Lord.

8. ബാബേല്രാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസരിനെ സേവിക്കയോ ബാബേല്രാജാവിന്റെ നുകത്തിന്നു കഴുത്തു കീഴ്പെടുത്തുകയോ ചെയ്യാത്ത ജാതിയെയും രാജ്യത്തെയും ഞാന് അവന്റെ കൈകൊണ്ടു അവരെ മുടിച്ചുകളയുംവരെ വാള്കൊണ്ടും ക്ഷാമംകൊണ്ടും മഹാമാരികൊണ്ടും സന്ദര്ശിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

8. And when Jeremias made an end of speaking all that the Lord had commanded him to speak to all the people, the priests, and the prophets, and all the people laid hold on him, saying: Let him be put to death.

9. നിങ്ങള് ബാബേല്രാജാവിനെ സേവിക്കേണ്ടിവരികയില്ല എന്നു പറയുന്ന നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവാചകന്മാര്ക്കും പ്രശ്നക്കാര്ക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ സ്വപ്നങ്ങള്ക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ ശകുനവാദികള്ക്കും ക്ഷുദ്രക്കാര്ക്കും ചെവികൊടുക്കരുതു.

9. Why hath he prophesied in the name of the Lord, saying: This house shall be like Silo; and this city shall be made desolate, without an inhabitant? And all the people were gathered together against Jeremias in the house of the Lord.

10. നിങ്ങളെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു അകറ്റിക്കളവാനും ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിട്ടു നിങ്ങള നശിച്ചുപോകുവാനും ഇടയാകത്തക്കവണ്ണം അവര് നിങ്ങളോടു ഭോഷകു പ്രവചിക്കുന്നു.

10. And the princes of Juda heard these words: and they went up from the king's house into the house of the Lord, and sat in the entry of the new gate of the house of the Lord.

11. എന്നാല് ബാബേല്രാജാവിന്റെ നുകത്തിന്നു കഴുത്തു കീഴ്പെടുത്തി അവനെ സേവിക്കുന്ന ജാതിയെ ഞാന് അവരുടെ ദേശത്തു തന്നേ വസിക്കുമാറാക്കും; അവര് അതില് കൃഷിചെയ്തു അവിടെ പാര്ക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

11. And the priests and the prophets spoke to the princes, and to all the people, saying: The judgement of death is for this man: because he hath prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your ears.

12. ഞാന് അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ സിദെക്കീയാവോടും പ്രസ്താവിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാല്നിങ്ങള് ബാബേല്രാജാവിന്റെ നുകത്തിന്നു കഴുത്തു കീഴ്പെടുത്തി അവനെയും അവന്റെ ജനത്തെയും സേവിച്ചു ജീവിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് .

12. Then Jeremias spoke to all the princes, and to all the people, saying: The Lord sent me to prophesy concerning this house, and concerning this city all the words you have heard.

13. ബാബേല്രാജാവിനെ സേവിക്കാത്ത ജാതിയെക്കുറിച്ചു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു പോലെ നീയും നിന്റെ പ്രജകളും വാള്കൊണ്ടും ക്ഷാമംകൊണ്ടും മഹാമാരികൊണ്ടും മരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തിനു?

13. Now therefore amend your ways, and your doings, and hearken to the voice of the Lord your God: and the Lord will repent of the evil that he hath spoken against you.

14. നിങ്ങള് ബാബേല്രാജാവിനെ സേവിക്കേണ്ടിവരികയില്ല എന്നു പറയുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കരുതു; അവര് ഭോഷ്കത്രേ നിങ്ങളോടു പ്രവചിക്കുന്നതു.

14. But as for me, behold I am in your hands: do with me what is good and right in your eyes:

15. ഞാന് അവരെ അയച്ചിട്ടില്ല; എങ്കിലും ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ നീക്കിക്കളവാനും നിങ്ങളും നിങ്ങളോടു പ്രവചിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാരും നശിച്ചുപോകുവാനും തക്കവണ്ണം അവര് എന്റെ നാമത്തില് ഭോഷകു പ്രവചിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

15. But know ye, and understand, that if you put me to death, you will shed innocent blood against your own selves, and against this city, and the inhabitants thereof. For in truth the Lord sent me to you, to speak all these words in your hearing.

16. പിന്നെ ഞാന് പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടും ഈ സകലജനത്തോടും പ്രസ്താവിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാല്യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുയഹോവയുടെ ആലയംവക ഉപകരണങ്ങള് ഇപ്പോള് ക്ഷണത്തില് ബാബേലില്നിന്നു തിരികെ കൊണ്ടുവരും എന്നിങ്ങനെ പ്രവചിക്കുന്ന നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കരുതുഅവര് ഭോഷ്കത്രേ നിങ്ങളോടു പ്രവചിക്കുന്നതു.

16. Then the princes, and all the people said to the priests, and to the prophets: There is no judgement of death for this man: for he hath spoken to us in the name of the Lord our God.

17. അവര്ക്കും ചെവികൊടുക്കരുതു; ബോബേല്രാജാവിനെ സേവിച്ചു ജീവിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് ; ഈ നഗരം ശൂന്യമായ്തീരുന്നതെന്തിന്നു?

17. And some of the ancients of the land rose up: and they spoke to all the assembly of the people, saying:

18. അവര് പ്രവാചകന്മാരാകുന്നു എങ്കില്, യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു അവര്ക്കുംണ്ടെങ്കില്, യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലും യെഹൂദാരാജാവിന്റെ അരമനയിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഉപകരണങ്ങള് ബാബേലിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവര് സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയോടു പക്ഷവാദം കഴിക്കട്ടെ.

18. Micheas of Morasthi was a prophet in the days of Ezechias king of Juda, and he spoke to all the people of Juda, saying: Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Sion shall be ploughed like a field, and Jerusalem shall be a heap of stones: and the mountain of the house the high places of woods.

19. ബാബേല്രാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസര്, യെഹോയാക്കീമിന്റെ മകനായി യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഖൊന്യാവെയും യെഹൂദയിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും ഉള്ള സകല കുലീനന്മാരെയും യെരൂശലേമില്നിന്നു ബാബേലിലേക്കു പിടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോയപ്പോള്,

19. Did Ezechias king of Juda, and all Juda, condemn him to death? did they not fear the Lord, and beseech the face of the Lord: and the Lord repented of the evil that they had spoken against them? therefore we are doing a great evil against our souls.

20. അവന് എടുക്കാതെ വെച്ചിരുന്ന സ്തംഭങ്ങളെയും കടലിനെയും പീഠങ്ങളെയും ഈ നഗരത്തില് ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ശേഷം ഉപകരണങ്ങളെയും കുറിച്ചു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു

20. There was also a man that prophesied in the name of the Lord, Urias the son of Semei of Cariathiarim: and he prophesied against this city, and against this land, according to all the words of Jeremias.

21. അതേ, യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലും യെഹൂദാരാജാവിന്റെ അരമനയിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും ശേഷിപ്പുള്ള ഉപകരണങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു തന്നേ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു

21. And Joakim, and all his men in power, and his princes heard these words: and the king sought to put him to death. And Urias heard it, and was afraid, and fled and went into Egypt.

22. അവയെ ബാബേലിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകും; ഞാന് അവരെ സന്ദര്ശിക്കുന്ന നാള്വരെ, അവ അവിടെ ഇരിക്കും; പിന്നത്തേതില് ഞാന് അവയെ ഈ സ്ഥലത്തു മടക്കിവരുത്തും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

22. And king Joakim sent men into Egypt, Elnathan the son of Achobor, and men with him into Egypt.
