1. യെഹോയാക്കീമിന്റെ മകനായ കൊന്യാവിന്നു പകരം യോശീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ സിദെക്കീയാവു രാജാവായി; അവനെ ബാബേല്രാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസര് യെഹൂദാദേശത്തു രാജാവാക്കിയിരുന്നു.

1. In the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from the LORD:

2. എന്നാല് അവനാകട്ടെ അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരാകട്ടെ ദേശത്തിലെ ജനമാകട്ടെ യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകന് മുഖാന്തരം യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനങ്ങളെ കേട്ടനുസരിച്ചില്ല.

2. 'Take a scroll and write on it all the words I have spoken to you concerning Israel, Judah and all the other nations from the time I began speaking to you in the reign of Josiah till now.

3. സിദെക്കീയാരാജാവു ശെലെമ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ യെഹൂഖലിനെയും മയസേയാവിന്റെ മകനായ സെഫന്യാപുരോഹിതനെയും യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചുനീ നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോടു ഞങ്ങള്ക്കുവേണ്ടി പക്ഷവാദം കഴിക്കേണം എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

3. Perhaps when the people of Judah hear about every disaster I plan to inflict on them, they will each turn from their wicked ways; then I will forgive their wickedness and their sin.'

4. യിരെമ്യാവിന്നോ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയില് വരത്തുപോകൂണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവനെ തടവിലാക്കിയിരുന്നില്ല.

4. So Jeremiah called Baruch son of Neriah, and while Jeremiah dictated all the words the LORD had spoken to him, Baruch wrote them on the scroll.

5. ഫറവോന്റെ സൈന്യം മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു എന്ന വര്ത്തമാനം യെരൂശലേമിനെ നിരോധിച്ചുപാര്ത്ത കല്ദയര് കേട്ടപ്പോള് അവര് യെരൂശലേമിനെ വിട്ടുപോയി.

5. Then Jeremiah told Baruch, 'I am restricted; I am not allowed to go to the LORD's temple.

6. അന്നു യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

6. So you go to the house of the LORD on a day of fasting and read to the people from the scroll the words of the LORD that you wrote as I dictated. Read them to all the people of Judah who come in from their towns.

7. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഅരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിപ്പാന് നിങ്ങളെ എന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ച യെഹൂദാരാജാവിനോടു നിങ്ങള് പറയേണ്ടതുനിങ്ങള്ക്കു സഹായത്തിന്നായി പുറപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ഫറവോന്റെ സൈന്യം തങ്ങളുടെ ദേശമായ മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകും.

7. Perhaps they will bring their petition before the LORD, and will all turn from their wicked ways, for the anger and wrath pronounced against this people by the LORD are great.'

8. കല്ദയരോ മടങ്ങിവന്നു ഈ നഗരത്തോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്തു അതിനെ പിടിച്ചു തീ വെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളയും.

8. Baruch son of Neriah did everything Jeremiah the prophet told him to do; at the LORD's temple he read the words of the LORD from the scroll.

9. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുകല്ദയര് നിശ്ചയമായിട്ടു നമ്മെ വിട്ടുപോകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ വിഞ്ചിക്കരുതു; അവര് വിട്ടുപോകയില്ല.

9. In the ninth month of the fifth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, a time of fasting before the LORD was proclaimed for all the people in Jerusalem and those who had come from the towns of Judah.

10. നിങ്ങളോടു യുദ്ധംചെയ്യുന്ന കല്ദയരുടെ സര്വ്വ സൈന്യത്തേയും നിങ്ങള് തോല്പിച്ചിട്ടു, മുറിവേറ്റ ചിലര് മാത്രം ശേഷിച്ചിരുന്നാലും അവര് ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ കൂടാരത്തില് നിന്നു എഴുന്നേറ്റുവന്നു ഈ നഗരത്തെ തീവെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളയും.

10. From the room of Gemariah son of Shaphan the secretary, which was in the upper courtyard at the entrance of the New Gate of the temple, Baruch read to all the people at the LORD's temple the words of Jeremiah from the scroll.

11. When Micaiah son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, heard all the words of the LORD from the scroll,

12. യിരെമ്യാവു ബെന്യാമീന് ദേശത്തു ചെന്നു സ്വജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയില് തന്റെ ഔഹരി വാങ്ങുവാന് യെരൂശലേമില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു.

12. he went down to the secretary's room in the royal palace, where all the officials were sitting: Elishama the secretary, Delaiah son of Shemaiah, Elnathan son of Akbor, Gemariah son of Shaphan, Zedekiah son of Hananiah, and all the other officials.

13. അവന് ബെന്യാമീന് വാതില്ക്കല് എത്തിയപ്പോള്, അവിടത്തെ കാവല്ക്കാരുടെ അധിപതിയായി ഹനന്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ ശെലെമ്യാവിന്റെ മകന് യിരീയാവു എന്നു പേരുള്ളവന് യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകനെ പിടിച്ചുനീ കല്ദയരുടെ പക്ഷം ചേരുവാന് പോകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. After Micaiah told them everything he had heard Baruch read to the people from the scroll,

14. അതിന്നു യിരെമ്യാവുഅതു നേരല്ല, ഞാന് കല്ദയരുടെ പക്ഷം ചേരുവാനല്ല പോകുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; യിരീയാവു അതു കൂട്ടാക്കാതെ യിരെമ്യാവെ പിടിച്ചു പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു.

14. all the officials sent Jehudi son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to say to Baruch, 'Bring the scroll from which you have read to the people and come.' So Baruch son of Neriah went to them with the scroll in his hand.

15. പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് യിരെമ്യാവോടു കോപിച്ചു അവനെ അടിച്ചു രായസക്കാരനായ യോനാഥാന്റെ വീട്ടില് തടവില് വെച്ചു; അതിനെ അവര് കാരാഗൃഹമാക്കിയിരുന്നു.

15. They said to him, 'Sit down, please, and read it to us.' So Baruch read it to them.

16. അങ്ങനെ യിരെമ്യാവു കുണ്ടറയിലെ നിലവറകളില് ആയി അവിടെ ഏറെനാള് പാര്ക്കേണ്ടിവന്നു.

16. When they heard all these words, they looked at each other in fear and said to Baruch, 'We must report all these words to the king.'

17. അനന്തരം സിദെക്കീയാരാജാവു ആളയച്ചു അവനെ വരുത്തിയഹോവയിങ്കല്നിന്നു വല്ല അരുളപ്പാടും ഉണ്ടോ എന്നു രാജാവു അരമനയില്വെച്ചു അവനോടു രഹസ്യമായി ചോദിച്ചു; അതിന്നു യിരെമ്യാവുഉണ്ടു; നീ ബാബേല്രാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെടും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

17. Then they asked Baruch, 'Tell us, how did you come to write all this? Did Jeremiah dictate it?'

18. പിന്നെ യിരെമ്യാവു സിദെക്കീയാരാജാവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുനിങ്ങള് എന്നെ കാരാഗൃഹത്തില് ആക്കുവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാന് നിന്നോടോ നിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരോടോ ഈ ജനത്തോടോ എന്തു കുറ്റം ചെയ്തു.

18. 'Yes,' Baruch replied, 'he dictated all these words to me, and I wrote them in ink on the scroll.'

19. ബാബേല്രാജാവു നിങ്ങളുടെ നേരെയും ഈ ദേശത്തിന്റെ നേരെയും വരികയില്ല എന്നു നിങ്ങളോടു പ്രവചിച്ച നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവാചകന്മാര് ഇപ്പോള് എവിടെ?

19. Then the officials said to Baruch, 'You and Jeremiah, go and hide. Don't let anyone know where you are.'

20. ആകയാല് യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, കേള്ക്കേണമേ! എന്റെ അപേക്ഷ തിരുമനസ്സുകൊണ്ടു കൈക്കൊള്ളേണമേ! ഞാന് രായസക്കാരനായ യോനാഥാന്റെ വീട്ടില് കിടന്നു മരിക്കാതെയിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നെ വീണ്ടും അവിടെ അയക്കരുതേ.

20. After they put the scroll in the room of Elishama the secretary, they went to the king in the courtyard and reported everything to him.

21. അപ്പോള് സിദെക്കീയാരാജാവുയിരെമ്യാവെ കാവല്പുരമുറ്റത്തു ഏല്പിപ്പാനും നഗരത്തില് ആഹാരം തീരെ ഇല്ലാതാകുംവരെ അപ്പക്കാരുടെ തെരുവില്നിന്നു ദിവസം പ്രതി ഒരു അപ്പം അവന്നു കൊടുപ്പാനും കല്പിച്ചു. അങ്ങനെ യിരെമ്യാവു കാവല്പുരമുറ്റത്തു പാര്ത്തു.

21. The king sent Jehudi to get the scroll, and Jehudi brought it from the room of Elishama the secretary and read it to the king and all the officials standing beside him.
