1. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന് ബാബേലിന്റെ നേരെയും എന്റെ എതിരാളികളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ നേരെയും സംഹാരകന്റെ മനസ്സു ഉണര്ത്തും.

1. The Word that Jehovah spoke against Babylon, against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet.

2. പാറ്റുന്നവരെ ഞാന് ബാബേലിലേക്കു അയക്കും; അവര് അതിനെ പാറ്റി ദേശത്തെ ശൂന്യമാക്കും; അനര്ത്ഥദിവസത്തില് അവര് അതിനെ നാലുപുറവും വളയും.

2. Declare among the nations, proclaim, and lift up a banner. Proclaim and do not hide it; say, Babylon is captured, Bel is ashamed, Merodach is broken in pieces; her images are withered up, her idols are broken in pieces.

3. വില്ലാളി വില്ലു കുലെക്കാതിരിക്കട്ടെ; അവന് കവചം ധരിച്ചു നിവിര്ന്നുനില്ക്കാതിരിക്കട്ടെ; അതിലെ യൌവനക്കാരെ ആദരിക്കാതെ സര്വ്വസൈന്യത്തെയും നിര്മ്മൂലമാക്കിക്കളവിന് .

3. For out of the north a nation comes up against her, which shall make her land a waste, and no one shall dwell in it. They shall flee, they shall depart, both man and beast.

4. അങ്ങനെ കല്ദയരുടെ ദേശത്തു നിഹതന്മാരും അതിന്റെ വീഥികളില് കുത്തിത്തുളക്കപ്പെട്ടവരും വീഴും.

4. In those days, and at that time, says Jehovah, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping. They shall go and seek Jehovah their God.

5. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെയും യെഹൂദയുടെയും ദേശങ്ങള് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനോടുള്ള അകൃത്യംകൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലും സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ അവയുടെ ദൈവം അവയെ വിധവമാരായി വിട്ടിട്ടില്ല.

5. They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces headed there, saying, Come and let us join ourselves to Jehovah in an everlasting covenant never to be forgotten.

6. ബാബേലിന്റെ നടുവില്നിന്നു ഔടി ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ പ്രാണനെ രക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് ; നിങ്ങള് അതിന്റെ അകൃത്യത്തില് നശിച്ചുപോകരുതു; ഇതു യഹോവയുടെ പ്രതികാരകാലമല്ലോ; അതിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം അവന് അതിനോടു പകരം ചെയ്യും;

6. My people have been lost sheep; their shepherds have caused them to go astray; they have turned them away on the mountains. They have gone from mountain to hill; they have forgotten their resting place.

7. ബാബേല് യഹോവയുടെ കയ്യില് സര്വ്വഭൂമിയെയും ലഹരിപിടിപ്പിക്കുന്ന പൊന് പാനപാത്രം ആയിരുന്നു; ജാതികള് അതിലെ വീഞ്ഞു കുടിച്ചിട്ടു അവര്ക്കും ഭ്രാന്തു പിടിച്ചു.

7. All who have found them have devoured them. And their enemies said, We have done no wrong, because they have sinned against Jehovah, the habitation of righteousness, even Jehovah, the hope of their fathers.

8. പെട്ടെന്നു ബാബേല് വീണു തകര്ന്നുപോയി; അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു മുറയിടുവിന് ; അതിന്റെ വേദനെക്കു തൈലം കൊണ്ടുവരുവിന് ; പക്ഷേ അതിന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരും.

8. Flee from the midst of Babylon, and go out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be like the rams before the flocks.

9. ഞങ്ങള് ബാബേലിന്നു ചികിത്സ ചെയ്തു എങ്കിലും സൌഖ്യം വന്നില്ല; അതിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളവിന് ; നാം ഔരോരുത്തനും നമ്മുടെ സ്വദേശത്തേക്കു പോക; അതിന്റെ ശിക്ഷാവിധി സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തോളം എത്തി ആകാശത്തോളം പൊങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

9. For, lo, I am stirring up and bringing up against Babylon a company of great nations from a northern land. And they shall array themselves against her. She shall be captured there. Their arrows shall be as those of a skillful, mighty man; none shall return in vain.

10. യഹോവ നമ്മുടെ നീതി വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു; വരുവിന് , നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ പ്രവൃത്തിയെ സീയോനില് പ്രസ്താവിക്കുക.

10. And Chaldea shall be a spoils; all who plunder her shall be satisfied, says Jehovah.

11. അമ്പു മിനുക്കുവിന് ; പരിച ധരിപ്പിന് ; യഹോവ മേദ്യരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ മനസ്സു ഉണര്ത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ബാബേലിനെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അവന്റെ നിരൂപണം അതിന്നു വിരോധമായിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇതു യഹോവയുടെ പ്രതികാരം, തന്റെ മന്ദിരത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടിയുള്ള പ്രതികാരം തന്നേ.

11. Because you were glad, because you rejoiced, O destroyers of My inheritance; because you are fat like a heifer in lush grass, and bellow like bulls;

12. ബാബേലിന്റെ മതിലുകള്ക്കു നേരെ കൊടി ഉയര്ത്തുവിന് ; കാവല് ഉറപ്പിപ്പിന് ; കാവല്ക്കാരെ നിര്ത്തുവിന് ; പതിയിരിപ്പുകാരെ ഒരുക്കുവിന് ; യഹോവ ബാബേല്നിവാസികളെക്കുറിച്ചു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിര്ണ്ണയിച്ചും അനുഷ്ഠിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. your mother shall be deeply ashamed; she who bore you shall be embarrassed. Behold, the last of the nations shall be a wilderness, a dry land and a desert.

13. വലിയ വെള്ളങ്ങള്ക്കരികെ വസിക്കുന്നവളായി വളരെ നിക്ഷേപങ്ങള് ഉള്ളവളേ, നിന്റെ അവസാനം നിന്നെ ഛേദിച്ചുകളവാനുള്ള അവധി, വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

13. Because of the wrath of Jehovah it shall not be inhabited, but it shall be wholly a waste. Everyone who goes by Babylon shall be horrified and hiss at all her plagues.

14. ഞാന് നിശ്ചയമായിട്ടു വിട്ടിലുകളെക്കൊണ്ടെന്നപോലെ മനുഷ്യരെക്കൊണ്ടു നിന്നെ നിറെക്കും; അവന് നിന്റെ നേരെ ആര്പ്പിടും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ തന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു തന്നേ സത്യം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

14. Put yourselves in array against Babylon all around; all you who bend the bow, shoot at her, and spare no arrows; for she has sinned against Jehovah.

15. അവന് തന്റെ ശക്തിയാല് ഭൂമിയെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു; തന്റെ ജ്ഞാനത്താല് ഭൂമണ്ഡലത്തെ സ്ഥാപിച്ചു, തന്റെ വിവേകത്താല് ആകാശത്തെ വിരിച്ചു.

15. Shout against her all around. She has given her hand; her foundations have fallen, her walls have been thrown down; for it is the vengeance of Jehovah. Take vengeance on her. As she has done, do unto her.

16. അവന് തന്റെ നാദം പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുമ്പോള് ആകാശത്തു വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ മുഴക്കം ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു; ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റങ്ങളില്നിന്നു അവന് ആവി കയറ്റുന്നു; മഴെക്കു മിന്നല് ഉണ്ടാക്കി തന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരത്തില്നിന്നു കാറ്റു പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുന്നു.

16. Cut off the sower from Babylon, and the one who handles the sickle in the time of harvest. For fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn, each one to his people; and they shall flee, each one to his own land.

17. ഏതു മനുഷ്യനും മൃഗപ്രായനും പരിജ്ഞാനമില്ലാത്തവനുമാകുന്നു. തട്ടാന്മാര് ഒക്കെയും വിഗ്രഹംനിമിത്തം ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകുന്നു; അവര് വാര്ത്തുണ്ടാക്കിയ ബിംബം വ്യാജമത്രേ.

17. Israel is like scattered sheep, driven away by lions. First the king of Assyria devoured him, and last this Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has crushed his bones.

18. അവയില് ശ്വാസവും ഇല്ല. അവ മായയും വ്യര്ത്ഥപ്രവൃത്തിയും തന്നേ; സന്ദര്ശനകാലത്തു അവ നശിച്ചുപോകും.

18. Therefore thus says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.

19. യാക്കോബിന്റെ ഔഹരിയായവന് ഇവയെപ്പോലെയല്ല; അവന് സര്വ്വത്തെയും നിര്മ്മിച്ചവന് ; യിസ്രായേല് അവന്റെ അവകാശഗോത്രം; സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ എന്നാകുന്നു അവന്റെ നാമം.

19. And I will bring Israel back to his home, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied on Mount Ephraim and Gilead.

20. നീ എന്റെ വെണ്മഴുവും യുദ്ധത്തിന്നുള്ള ആയുധങ്ങളും ആകുന്നു; ഞാന് നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ജാതികളെ തകര്ക്കയും നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു രാജ്യങ്ങളെ നശിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

20. In those days, and at that time, says Jehovah, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and it shall not be found; and the sins of Judah, but they shall not be found; for I will pardon those whom I spare.

21. നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാന് കുതിരയെയും അതിന്റെ പുറത്തു കയറിയിരിക്കുന്നവനെയും തകര്ക്കും; നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാന് രഥത്തെയും അതില് ഇരിക്കുന്നവനെയും തകര്ക്കും;

21. Go up against the land of Merathaim, even against it and against the inhabitants of Pekod. Waste and exterminate after them, says Jehovah, and do according to all that I have commanded you.

22. നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാന് പുരുഷനെയും സ്ത്രീയെയും തകര്ക്കും; നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാന് വൃദ്ധനെയും ബാലനെയും തകര്ക്കും; നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാന് യുവാവിനെയും യുവതിയെയും തകര്ക്കും.

22. A sound of battle is in the land, and of great destruction.

23. നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാന് ഇടയനെയും ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടത്തെയും തകര്ക്കും; നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാന് കൃഷിക്കാരനെയും അവന്റെ ഏര്കാളയെയും തകര്ക്കും; നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാന് ദേശാധിപതികളെയും സ്ഥാനാപതികളെയും തകര്ക്കും.

23. How the hammer of the whole earth is chopped off and broken! How Babylon has become a desolation among the nations!

24. നിങ്ങള് കാണ്കെ ഞാന് ബാബേലിന്നും സകല കല്ദയനിവാസികള്ക്കും അവര് സീയോനില് ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന സകലദോഷത്തിന്നും തക്കവണ്ണം പകരം വീട്ടുമെന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

24. I have laid a trap for you, and you have also been caught, O Babylon, and you did not even know it. You have been found and also captured, because you have fought against Jehovah.

25. സകലഭൂമിയെയും നശിപ്പിക്കുന്ന വിനാശകപര്വ്വതമേ, ഞാന് നിനക്കു വിരോധമായിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് നിന്റെ മേല് കൈ നീട്ടി നിന്നെ പാറകളില്നിന്നു ഉരുട്ടി ദഹനപര്വ്വതം ആക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

25. Jehovah has opened His armory, and has brought forth the weapons of His indignation. For this is the work of the Lord Jehovah of Hosts in the land of the Chaldeans.

26. നിന്നില്നിന്നു അവര് മൂലക്കല്ലായിട്ടോ അടിസ്ഥാനക്കല്ലായിട്ടോ ഒരു കല്ലും എടുക്കാതവണ്ണം നീ നിത്യശൂന്യമായി ഭവിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

26. Come against her from the border; open her storehouses; cast her up as heaps, and destroy her completely. Let nothing of her be left.

27. ദേശത്തു ഒരു കൊടി ഉയര്ത്തുവിന് ; ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില് കാഹളം ഊതുവിന് ; ജാതികളെ അതിന്റെ നേരെ സംസ്കരിപ്പിന് ; അറാറാത്ത്, മിന്നി, അസ്കെനാസ്, എന്നീ രാജ്യങ്ങളെ അതിന്നു വിരോധമായി വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടുവിന് ; അതിന്നെതിരെ ഒരു സേനാപതിയെ നിയമിപ്പിന് ; പരുപരുത്ത വിട്ടിലുകളെപ്പോലെ കുതിരകളെ പുറപ്പെടുമാറാക്കുവിന് .

27. Kill all her bulls; let them go down to the slaughter. Woe to them! For their day has come, the time of their punishment.

28. മേദ്യരുടെ രാജാക്കന്മാരും ദേശാധിപതിമാരും സകല സ്ഥാനാപതിമാരും അവന്റെ ആധിപത്യത്തില് ഉള്പ്പെട്ട സകലദേശക്കാരുമായ ജാതികളെ അതിന്നു വിരോധമായി സംസ്കരിപ്പിന് ;

28. The voice of those who flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of Jehovah our God, the vengeance of His temple.

29. ബാബേല്ദേശത്തെ നിവാസികളില്ലാതെ ശൂന്യമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ബാബേലിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള യഹോവയുടെ നിരൂപണങ്ങള് നിവൃത്തിയായ്വരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ദേശം നടുങ്ങി സങ്കടപ്പെടുന്നു.

29. Summon the archers against Babylon. All you who bend the bow, camp against it all around; let none of them escape. Repay her according to her work; according to all that she has done, do to her. For she has been proud against Jehovah, against the Holy One of Israel.

30. ബാബേലിലെ വീരന്മാര് യുദ്ധം മതിയാക്കി കോട്ടകളില് ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ശക്തി ക്ഷയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവര് സ്ത്രീകളെപ്പോലെ ആയിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിലെ വീടുകള്ക്കു തീ വെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; അതിന്റെ ഔടാമ്പലുകള് തകര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

30. Therefore her young men shall fall in the streets, and all her men of war shall be silenced in that day, says Jehovah.

31. പട്ടണം നാലുപുറവും പിടിപെട്ടുപോയി, കടവുകള് ശത്രുവശമായി, കളങ്ങള് തീ പിടിച്ചു ദഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, യോദ്ധാക്കള് ഭയപരവശരായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നിങ്ങനെ ബാബേല്രാജാവിനോടു അറിയിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു

31. Behold, I am against you, O proud ones, says the Lord Jehovah of Hosts; for your day has come, the time that I will judge you.

32. ഔട്ടാളന് ഔട്ടാളന്നും ദൂതന് ദൂതന്നും എതിരെ ഔടുന്നു.

32. And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and no one shall raise him up. And I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall consume everything all around him.

33. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുബാബേല്പുത്രി മെതികാലത്തെ മെതിക്കളംപോലെയായിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇനി കുറഞ്ഞോന്നു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അതിന്റെ കൊയ്ത്തുകാലം വരും.

33. Thus says Jehovah of Hosts: The children of Israel and the children of Judah were oppressed together. And all who captured them have held them fast; they have refused to let them go.

34. ബാബേല്രാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസര് എന്നെ തിന്നുമുടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു, അവന് എന്നെ വെറുമ്പാത്രമാക്കി, മഹാസര്പ്പം എന്നപോലെ അവന് എന്നെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളഞ്ഞു, എന്റെ സ്വാദുഭോജ്യങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ടു വയറു നിറെച്ചു, എന്നെ തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

34. Their Redeemer is strong; Jehovah of Hosts, is His name. He shall thoroughly plead their case, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

35. ഞാന് സഹിച്ച സാഹസവും ദേഹപീഡയും ബാബേലിന്മേല് വരട്ടെ എന്നു സീയോന് നിവാസിനി പറയും; എന്റെ രക്തം കല്ദയ നിവാസികളുടെമേല് വരട്ടെ എന്നു യെരൂശലേം പറയും.

35. A sword is upon the Chaldeans, says Jehovah, and upon the inhabitants of Babylon, and upon her rulers, and upon her wise men.

36. അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഇതാ, ഞാന് നിന്റെ വ്യവഹാരം നടത്തി, നിനക്കു വേണ്ടി പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യും; അതിന്റെ കടല് ഞാന് ഉണക്കി, അതിന്റെ ഉറവുകള് വറ്റിച്ചുകളയും.

36. A sword is upon the liars, and they shall become fools. A sword is upon her mighty men, and they shall be dismayed.

37. ബാബേല്, നിവാസികള് ഇല്ലാതെ കലക്കുന്നുകളും കുറുനരികളുടെ പാര്പ്പിടവും വിസ്മയത്തിന്നും ചൂളകുത്തുന്നതിന്നും വിഷയവുമായ്തീരും.

37. A sword is upon their horses and their chariots, and upon all the mixed people in her midst; and they shall become as women. A sword is upon her treasures, and they shall be robbed.

38. അവര് ഒക്കെയും ബാലസിംഹങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ ഗര്ജ്ജിക്കും; അവര് സിംഹികളുടെ കുട്ടികളെപ്പോലെ മുരളും.

38. A drought is upon her waters; and they shall be dried up. For it is the land of graven images, and they act madly and are in dread.

39. അവര് ജയമത്തരായിരിക്കുമ്പോള് ഉല്ലസിച്ചു ഉണരാതവണ്ണം നിത്യനിദ്ര കൊള്ളേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും ഒരു പാനീയം ഒരുക്കി അവരെ ലഹരി പിടിപ്പിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

39. Therefore the beasts of the desert shall dwell there with the howling beasts. And the young owls shall dwell in it. And it shall not again be inhabited forever; it shall not be lived in from generation to generation.

40. ഞാന് അവരെ കുഞ്ഞാടുകളെപ്പോലെയും മുട്ടാടുകളോടുകൂടി ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന്മാരെപ്പോലെയും കുലനിലത്തേക്കു ഇറക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു വരും.

40. As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighbors, says Jehovah, so no man shall remain there, nor shall any son of man live in it.

41. ശേശക് പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടുപോയതെങ്ങനെ? സര്വ്വഭൂമിയുടെയും പ്രശംസയായിരുന്നതു ശത്രുവശമായ്പോയതെങ്ങനെ? ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില് ബാബേല് ഒരു സ്തംഭനവിഷയമായ്തീര്ന്നതെങ്ങനെ?

41. Behold, a people shall come from the north, even a great nation; and many kings shall be aroused from the ends of the earth.

42. ബാബേലിന്മേല് കടല് കവിഞ്ഞുവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ തിരകളുടെ പെരുപ്പംകൊണ്ടു അതു മൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

42. They lay hold on the bow and spear; they are cruel and shall not show mercy. Their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride on horses, set in array like a man for battle against you, O daughter of Babylon.

43. അതിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങള് ശൂന്യവും വരണ്ടനിലവും മരുഭൂമിയും ആരും പാര്ക്കാത്തതും വഴനടക്കാത്തതും ആയ ദേശവും ആയിത്തീര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

43. The king of Babylon has heard the report of them, and his hands became feeble. Anguish has taken hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in labor.

44. ഞാന് ബാബേലില്വെച്ചു ബേലിനെ സന്ദര്ശിച്ചു, അവന് വിഴുങ്ങിയതിനെ അവന്റെ വായില്നിന്നു പുറത്തിറക്കും; ജാതികള് ഇനി അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് ഔടിച്ചെല്ലുകയില്ല; ബാബേലിന്റെ മതില് വീണുപോകും.

44. Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of the Jordan against the dwelling of the strong. But I will make them suddenly run away from her. And who is a chosen one whom I may appoint over her? For who is like Me? And who will set My appointments? And who is that shepherd who will face Me?

45. എന്റെ ജനമേ, അതിന്റെ നടുവില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിന് ; യഹോവയുടെ ഉഗ്രകോപത്തില്നിന്നു നിങ്ങള് ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ പ്രാണനെ രക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് .

45. Therefore hear the counsel of Jehovah that He has taken against Babylon; and His purposes which He has purposed against the land of the Chaldeans. Surely the least of the flock shall drag them; surely He shall make their dwelling desolate to them.
