1. ദാനീയേല് എന്ന എനിക്കു ആദിയില് ഉണ്ടായതിന്റെ ശേഷം, ബേല്ശസ്സര്രാജാവിന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ മൂന്നാം ആണ്ടില് ഒരു ദര്ശനം ഉണ്ടായി.

1. In the third year of the reign of King Belshazzar a vision appeared to me, Daniel, after that which appeared to me at the first.

2. ഞാന് ഒരു ദര്ശനം കണ്ടു, ഏലാം സംസ്ഥാനത്തിലെ ശൂശന് രാജധാനിയില് ആയിരുന്നപ്പോള് അതു കണ്ടു; ഞാന് ഊലായി നദീതീരത്തു നിലക്കുന്നതായി ദര്ശനത്തില് കണ്ടു.

2. And I saw in the vision; and when I saw, I was in Susa the capital, which is in the province of Elam. And I saw in the vision, and I was at the Ulai canal.

3. ഞാന് തലപൊക്കിയപ്പോള്, രണ്ടു കൊമ്പുള്ള ഒരു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന് നദീതീരത്തു നിലക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു; ആ കൊമ്പുകള് നീണ്ടവയായിരുന്നു; ഒന്നു മറ്റേതിനെക്കാള് അധികം നീണ്ടതു; അധികം നീണ്ടതു ഒടുക്കം മുളെച്ചുവന്നതായിരുന്നു.

3. I raised my eyes and saw, and behold, a ram standing on the bank of the canal. It had two horns, and both horns were high, but one was higher than the other, and the higher one came up last.

4. ആ ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന് പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടും വടക്കോട്ടും തെക്കോട്ടും ഇടിക്കുന്നതു ഞാന് കണ്ടു; ഒരു മൃഗത്തിന്നും അതിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നില്പാന് കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല; അതിന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു രക്ഷിക്കാകുന്നവനും ആരുമില്ല; അതു ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ ചെയ്തു വമ്പു കാട്ടിപ്പോന്നു.

4. I saw the ram charging westward and northward and southward. No beast could stand before him, and there was no one who could rescue from his power. He did as he pleased and became great.

5. ഞാന് നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള്, ഒരു കോലാട്ടുകൊറ്റന് പടിഞ്ഞാറു നിന്നു നിലം തൊടാതെ സര്വ്വ ഭൂതലത്തിലും കൂടിവന്നു; ആ കോലാട്ടുകൊറ്റന്നു കണ്ണുകളുടെ നടുവില് വിശേഷമായൊരു കൊമ്പുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

5. As I was considering, behold, a male goat came from the west across the face of the whole earth, without touching the ground. And the goat had a conspicuous horn between his eyes.

6. അതു നദീതീരത്തു നിലക്കുന്നതായി ഞാന് കണ്ട രണ്ടു കൊമ്പുള്ള ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന്റെ നേരെ ഉഗ്രക്രോധത്തോടെ പാഞ്ഞു ചെന്നു.

6. He came to the ram with the two horns, which I had seen standing on the bank of the canal, and he ran at him in his powerful wrath.

7. അതു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനോടു അടുക്കുന്നതു ഞാന് കണ്ടു; അതു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനോടു ക്രുദ്ധിച്ചു, അതിനെ ഇടിച്ചു അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പു രണ്ടും തകര്ത്തുകളഞ്ഞു; അതിന്റെ മുമ്പില് നില്പാന് ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന്നു ശക്തിയില്ലാതെയിരുന്നു; അതു അതിനെ നിലത്തു തള്ളിയിട്ടു ചവിട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു; അതിന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെ രക്ഷിപ്പാന് ആരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.

7. I saw him come close to the ram, and he was enraged against him and struck the ram and broke his two horns. And the ram had no power to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground and trampled on him. And there was no one who could rescue the ram from his power.

8. കോലാട്ടുകൊറ്റന് ഏറ്റവും വലുതായിത്തീര്ന്നു; എന്നാല് അതു ബലപ്പെട്ടപ്പോള് വലിയ കൊമ്പു തകര്ന്നുപോയി; അതിന്നു പകരം ആകാശത്തിലെ നാലു കാറ്റിന്നു നേരെ ഭംഗിയുള്ള നാലു കൊമ്പു മുളെച്ചുവന്നു.

8. Then the goat became exceedingly great, but when he was strong, the great horn was broken, and instead of it there came up four conspicuous horns toward the four winds of heaven.

9. അവയില് ഒന്നില്നിന്നു ഒരു ചെറിയ കൊമ്പു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; അതു തെക്കോട്ടും കിഴക്കോട്ടും മനോഹരദേശത്തിന്നു നേരെയും ഏറ്റവും വലുതായിത്തീര്ന്നു.

9. Out of one of them came a little horn, which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the glorious land.

10. അതു ആകാശത്തിലെ സൈന്യത്തോളം വലുതായിത്തീര്ന്നു, സൈന്യത്തിലും നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളിലും ചിലതിനെ നിലത്തു തള്ളിയിട്ടു ചവിട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

10. It grew great, even to the host of heaven. And some of the host and some of the stars it threw down to the ground and trampled on them.

11. അതു സൈന്യത്തിന്റെ അധിപതിയോളം തന്നെത്താന് വലുതാക്കി, അവന്നുള്ള നിരന്തരഹോമയാഗം അപഹരിക്കയും അവന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരം ഇടിച്ചുകളകയും ചെയ്തു.

11. It became great, even as great as the Prince of the host. And the regular burnt offering was taken away from him, and the place of his sanctuary was overthrown.

12. അതിക്രമം ഹേതുവായി നിരന്തരഹോമയാഗത്തിന്നെതിരായി ഒരു സേവ നിയമിക്കപ്പെടും; അതു സത്യത്തെ നിലത്തു തള്ളിയിടുകയും കാര്യം നടത്തി സാധിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

12. And a host will be given over to it together with the regular burnt offering because of transgression, and it will throw truth to the ground, and it will act and prosper.

13. അനന്തരം ഒരു വിശുദ്ധന് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു ഞാന് കേട്ടു; സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന വിശുദ്ധനോടു മറ്റൊരു വിശുദ്ധന് വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തെയും സേവയെയും ചവിട്ടിക്കളയേണ്ടതിന്നു ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം നിരന്തരഹോമയാഗത്തെയും ശൂന്യമാക്കുന്ന അതിക്രമത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു ദര്ശനത്തില് കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നതു എത്രത്തോളം നിലക്കും എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

13. Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to the one who spoke, 'For how long is the vision concerning the regular burnt offering, the transgression that makes desolate, and the giving over of the sanctuary and host to be trampled underfoot?'

14. അതിന്നു അവന് അവനോടുരണ്ടായിരത്തിമുന്നൂറു സന്ധ്യയും ഉഷസ്സും തികയുവോളം തന്നേ; പിന്നെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരം യഥാസ്ഥാനപ്പെടും.

14. And he said to me, 'For 2,300 evenings and mornings. Then the sanctuary shall be restored to its rightful state.'

15. എന്നാല് ദാനീയേലെന്ന ഞാന് ഈ ദര്ശനം കണ്ടിട്ടു അര്ത്ഥം ആലോചിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് ഒരു പുരുഷരൂപം എന്റെ മുമ്പില് നിലക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

15. When I, Daniel, had seen the vision, I sought to understand it. And behold, there stood before me one having the appearance of a man.

16. ഗബ്രീയേലേ, ഇവന്നു ഈ ദര്ശനം ഗ്രഹിപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്ക എന്നു ഊലായിതീരത്തുനിന്നു വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്ന ഒരു മനഷ്യന്റെ ശബ്ദം ഞാന് കേട്ടു.

16. And I heard a man's voice between the banks of the Ulai, and it called, 'Gabriel, make this man understand the vision.'

17. അപ്പോള് ഞാന് നിന്നെടത്തു അവന് അടുത്തുവന്നു; അവന് വന്നപ്പോള് ഞാന് ഭയപ്പെട്ടു സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു; എന്നാല് അവന് എന്നോടുമനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, ഗ്രഹിച്ചുകൊള്ക; ഈ ദര്ശനം അന്ത്യകാലത്തേക്കുള്ളതാകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

17. So he came near where I stood. And when he came, I was frightened and fell on my face. But he said to me, 'Understand, O son of man, that the vision is for the time of the end.'

18. അവന് എന്നോടു സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് ഞാന് ബോധംകെട്ടു നിലത്തു കവിണ്ണു വീണു; അവന് എന്നെ തൊട്ടു എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു നിര്ത്തി.

18. And when he had spoken to me, I fell into a deep sleep with my face to the ground. But he touched me and made me stand up.

19. പിന്നെ അവന് പറഞ്ഞതുകോപത്തിന്റെ അന്ത്യകാലത്തിങ്കല് സംഭവിപ്പാനിരിക്കുന്നതു ഞാന് നിന്നെ ഗ്രഹിപ്പിക്കും; അതു അന്ത്യകാലത്തേക്കുള്ളതല്ലോ.

19. He said, 'Behold, I will make known to you what shall be at the latter end of the indignation, for it refers to the appointed time of the end.

20. രണ്ടുകൊമ്പുള്ളതായി നീ കണ്ട ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന് പാര്സ്യ രാജാക്കന്മാരെ കുറിക്കുന്നു.

20. As for the ram that you saw with the two horns, these are the kings of Media and Persia.

21. പരുപരുത്ത കോലാട്ടുകൊറ്റന് യവനരാജാവും അതിന്റെ കണ്ണുകളുടെ നടുവിലുള്ള വലിയ കൊമ്പു ഒന്നാമത്തെ രാജാവും ആകുന്നു.

21. And the goat is the king of Greece. And the great horn between his eyes is the first king.

22. അതു തകര്ന്ന ശേഷം അതിന്നു പകരം നാലു കൊമ്പു മുളെച്ചതോനാലു രാജ്യം ആ ജാതിയില്നിന്നുത്ഭവിക്കും; അതിന്റെ ശക്തിയോടെ അല്ലതാനും.

22. As for the horn that was broken, in place of which four others arose, four kingdoms shall arise from his nation, but not with his power.

23. എന്നാല് അവരുടെ രാജത്വത്തിന്റെ അന്ത്യകാലത്തു അതിക്രമക്കാരുടെ അതിക്രമം തികയുമ്പോള്, ഉഗ്രഭാവവും ഉപായബുദ്ധിയും ഉള്ളോരു രാജാവു എഴുന്നേലക്കും.

23. And at the latter end of their kingdom, when the transgressors have reached their limit, a king of bold face, one who understands riddles, shall arise.

24. അവന്റെ അധികാരം വലുതായിരിക്കും; സ്വന്ത ശക്തിയാല് അല്ലതാനും; അവന് അതിശയമാംവണ്ണം നാശം പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കയും കൃതാര്ത്ഥനായി അതു അനുഷ്ഠിക്കയും പലരെയും വിശുദ്ധ ജനത്തെയും നശിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

24. His power shall be great- but not by his own power; and he shall cause fearful destruction and shall succeed in what he does, and destroy mighty men and the people who are the saints.

25. അവന് നയബുദ്ധിയാല് തന്റെ ഉപായം സാധിപ്പിക്കയും സ്വഹൃദയത്തില് വമ്പു ഭാവിച്ചു, നിശ്ചിന്തയോടെയിരിക്കുന്ന പലരെയും നശിപ്പിക്കയും കര്ത്താധികര്ത്താവിനോടു എതിര്ത്തുനിന്നു കൈ തൊടാതെ തകര്ന്നുപോകയും ചെയ്യും.

25. By his cunning he shall make deceit prosper under his hand, and in his own mind he shall become great. Without warning he shall destroy many. And he shall even rise up against the Prince of princes, and he shall be broken- but by no human hand.

26. സന്ധ്യകളെയും ഉഷസ്സുകളെയും കുറിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന ദര്ശനം സത്യമാകുന്നു; ദര്ശനം ബഹുകാലത്തേക്കുള്ളതാകയാല് അതിനെ അടെച്ചുവെക്ക.

26. The vision of the evenings and the mornings that has been told is true, but seal up the vision, for it refers to many days from now.'

27. എന്നാല് ദാനിയേലെന്ന ഞാന് ബോധംകെട്ടു, കുറെ ദിവസം ദീനമായ്ക്കിടന്നു; അതിന്റെ ശേഷം ഞാന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു രാജാവിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിനോക്കി; ഞാന് ദര്ശനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു വിസ്മയിച്ചു; ആര്ക്കും അതു മനസ്സിലായില്ലതാനും.

27. And I, Daniel, was overcome and lay sick for some days. Then I rose and went about the king's business, but I was appalled by the vision and did not understand it.
