1. യിസ്രായേലേ, നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചെല്ലുക; നിന്റെ അകൃത്യംനിമിത്തം അല്ലോ നീ വീണിരിക്കുന്നതു.

1. O ISRAEL, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.

2. നിങ്ങള് അനുതാപവാക്യങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കല് മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു അവനോടുസകല അകൃത്യത്തെയും ക്ഷമിച്ചു, ഞങ്ങളെ കൃപയോടെ കൈക്കൊള്ളേണമേ; എന്നാല് ഞങ്ങള് ഞങ്ങളുടെ അധരാര്പ്പണമായ കാളകളെ അര്പ്പിക്കും;

2. Take with you words, and return unto the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and accept that which is good: so will we render as bullocks the offering of our lips.

3. Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.

5. I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall blossom as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.

6. His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.

7. They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and blossom as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.

8. എഫ്രയീമേ, ഇനി എനിക്കും വിഗ്രഹങ്ങള്ക്കും തമ്മില് എന്തു? ഞാന് അവന്നു ഉത്തരം അരുളി അവനെ കടാക്ഷിക്കും; ഞാന് തഴെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന സരള വൃക്ഷംപോലെ ആകുന്നു. എങ്കല് നിനക്കു ഫലം കണ്ടുകിട്ടും.

8. Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have answered, and will regard him: I am like a green fir tree; from me is thy fruit found.

9. ഇതു ഗ്രഹിപ്പാന് തക്ക ജ്ഞാനി ആര്? ഇതു അറിവാന് തക്ക വിവേകി ആര്? യഹോവയുടെ വഴികള് ചൊവ്വുള്ളവയല്ലോ; നീതിമാന്മാര് അവയില് നടക്കും; അതിക്രമക്കാരോ അവയില് ഇടറിവീഴും.

9. Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, mad the just shall walk in them; but transgressors shall fall therein.
