1. അനന്തരം യഹോവ എന്നോടുയിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് അന്യദേവന്മാരോടു ചേര്ന്നു മുന്തിരിയടകളില് ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടിട്ടും യഹോവ അവരെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നീ ഇനിയും ചെന്നു ഒരു ജാരനാല് സ്നേഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടു വ്യഭിചാരിണിയായിരിക്കുന്ന സ്ത്രീയെ സ്നേഹിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്ക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

1. Then the LORD said to me, 'Go again, love a woman [who] is loved by [her] husband, yet an adulteress, even as the LORD loves the sons of Israel, though they turn to other gods and love raisin cakes.'

2. അങ്ങനെ ഞാന് അവളെ പതിനഞ്ചു വെള്ളിക്കാശിന്നും ഒന്നര ഹോമെര് യവത്തിന്നും മേടിച്ചു അവളോടു

2. So I bought her for myself for fifteen [shekels] of silver and a homer and a half of barley.

3. നീ ബഹുകാലം അടങ്ങിപ്പാര്ക്കേണം; പരസംഗം ചെയ്കയോ മറ്റൊരു പരുഷന്നു പരിഗ്രഹമായിരിക്കയോ അരുതു; ഞാനും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

3. Then I said to her, 'You shall stay with me for many days. You shall not play the harlot, nor shall you have a man; so I will also be toward you.'

4. ഈ വിധത്തില് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് ബഹുകാലം രാജാവില്ലാതെയും പ്രഭുവില്ലാതെയും യാഗമില്ലാതെയും പ്രതിഷ്ഠയില്ലാതെയും എഫോദില്ലാതെയും ഗൃഹബിംബമില്ലാതെയും ഇരിക്കും.

4. For the sons of Israel will remain for many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or [sacred] pillar and without ephod or household idols.

5. പിന്നത്തേതില് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് തിരഞ്ഞു തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെയും തങ്ങളുടെ രാജാവായ ദാവീദിനെയും അന്വേഷിക്കും; ഭാവികാലത്തു അവര് ഭയപ്പെട്ടുംകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയിങ്കലേക്കും അവന്റെ നന്മയിങ്കലേക്കും വരും.

5. Afterward the sons of Israel will return and seek the LORD their God and David their king; and they will come trembling to the LORD and to His goodness in the last days.
