1. യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നതു കേള്പ്പിന് ; നീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു പര്വ്വതങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പാകെ വ്യവഹരിക്ക; കുന്നുകള് നിന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കട്ടെ;

1. Listen to what the Lord says: 'Stand up and make your cause known in front of the mountains. Let the hills hear your voice.

2. പര്വ്വതങ്ങളും ഭൂമിയുടെ സ്ഥിരമായ അടിസ്ഥാനങ്ങളുമായുള്ളോവേ, യഹോവയുടെ വ്യവഹാരം കേള്പ്പിന് ! യഹോവേക്കു തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ഒരു വ്യവഹാരം ഉണ്ടു; അവന് യിസ്രായേലിനോടു വാദിക്കും.

2. Listen to the Lord's cause, you mountains and bases of the earth that last forever. The Lord has something against His people, and will speak against Israel.

6. What should I bring to the Lord when I bow down before the God on high? Should I come to Him with burnt gifts, with calves a year old?

7. ആയിരം ആയിരം ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനിലും പതിനായിരം പതിനായിരം തൈലനദിയിലും യഹോവ പ്രസാദിക്കുമോ? എന്റെ അതിക്രമത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി ഞാന് എന്റെ ആദ്യജാതനെയും ഞാന് ചെയ്ത പാപത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി എന്റെ ഉദരഫലത്തെയും കൊടുക്കേണമോ?

7. Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, or with 10,000 rivers of oil? Should I give my first-born to pay for not obeying? Should I give the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

8. മനുഷ്യാ, നല്ലതു എന്തെന്നു അവന് നിനക്കു കാണിച്ചു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നുന്യായം പ്രവര്ത്തിപ്പാനും ദയാതല്പരനായിരിപ്പാനും നിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് താഴ്മയോടെ നടപ്പാനും അല്ലാതെ എന്താകുന്നു യഹോവ നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കുന്നതു?

8. O man, He has told you what is good. What does the Lord ask of you but to do what is fair and to love kindness, and to walk without pride with your God?

12. അതിലെ ധനവാന്മാര് സാഹസപൂര്ണ്ണന്മാര് ആകുന്നു; അതിന്റെ നിവാസികള് വ്യാജം സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ വായില് അവരുടെ നാവു ചതിവുള്ളതു തന്നേ;

12. The rich men of the city have hurt many people. Her people are liars. Their tongues in their mouths speak false words.

13. ആകയാല് ഞാന് നിന്നെ കഠിനമായി ദണ്ഡിപ്പിക്കും; നിന്റെ പാപങ്ങള്നിമിത്തം നിന്നെ ശൂന്യമാക്കും.

13. So I have begun to punish you, to destroy you because of your sins.

14. നീ ഭക്ഷിക്കും; തൃപ്തി വരികയില്ല, വിശപ്പു അടങ്ങുകയുമില്ല; നീ നീക്കിവേക്കും; ഒന്നും സ്വരൂപിക്കയില്ലതാനും; നീ സ്വരൂപിക്കുന്നതു ഞാന് വാളിന്നു ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും.

14. You will eat, but you will not be filled. Your stomachs will still be empty. You will store up, but save nothing. And what you save I will give to the sword.

15. നീ വിതെക്കും, കൊയ്കയില്ല നീ ഒലീവുകായ് ചവിട്ടും, എണ്ണ പൂശുകയില്ല; മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം ചവിട്ടും, വീഞ്ഞു കുടിക്കയില്ലതാനും.
