1. മത്സരവും മലിനതയും ഉള്ളതും പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നതും ആയ നഗരത്തിന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

1. Woe to the provoking, and redeemed city, the dove.

2. അവള് വാക്കു കേട്ടനുസരിച്ചിട്ടില്ല പ്രബോധനം കൈക്കൊണ്ടിട്ടില്ല; യഹോവയില് ആശ്രയിച്ചിട്ടില്ല; തന്റെ ദൈവത്തോടു അടുത്തുവന്നിട്ടുമില്ല.

2. She hath not hearkened to the voice, neither hath she received discipline: she hath not trusted in the Lord, she drew not near to her God.

3. അതിന്നകത്തു അതിന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് ഗര്ജ്ജിക്കുന്ന സിംഹങ്ങള്; അതിന്റെ ന്യായാധിപതിമാര് വൈകുന്നേരത്തെ ചെന്നായ്ക്കള്; അവര് പ്രഭാതകാലത്തേക്കു ഒന്നും ശേഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നില്ല.

3. Her princes are in the midst of her as roaring lions: her judges are evening wolves, they left nothing for the morning.

4. അതിന്റെ പ്രവാചകന്മാര് ലഘുബുദ്ധികളും വിശ്വാസപാതകന്മാരും ആകുന്നു; അതിന്റെ പുരോഹിതന്മാര് വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കി, ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ ബലാല്ക്കാരം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

4. Her prophets are senseless men without faith: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have acted unjustly against the law.

5. യഹോവ അതിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ നീതിമാനാകുന്നു അവന് നീതികേടു ചെയ്യുന്നില്ല; രാവിലേരാവിലേ അവന് തന്റെ ന്യായത്തെ തെറ്റാതെ വെളിച്ചത്താക്കുന്നു; നീതികെട്ടവനോ നാണം എന്തെന്നറിഞ്ഞുകൂടാ.

5. The just Lord is in the midst thereof, he will not do iniquity: in the morning, in the morning he will bring his judgment to light, and it shall not be hid: but the wicked man hath not known shame.

6. ഞാന് ജാതികളെ ഛേദിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; അവരുടെ കൊത്തളങ്ങള് ശൂന്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് അവരുടെ വീഥികളെ ആരും കടന്നുപോകാതവണ്ണം ശൂന്യമാക്കി, അവരുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങള് ഒരു മനുഷ്യനും നിവാസിയും ഇല്ലാതെ നശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

6. I have destroyed the nations, and their towers are beaten down: I have made their ways desert, so that there is none that passeth by: their cities are desolate, there is not a man remaining, nor any inhabitant.

7. നീ എന്നെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു പ്രബോധനം കൈക്കൊള്ക എന്നു ഞാന് കല്പിച്ചു; എന്നാല് ഞാന് അവളെ സന്ദര്ശിച്ചതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും അവളുടെ പാര്പ്പിടം ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടുകയില്ലായിരുന്നു; എങ്കിലും അവര് ജാഗ്രതയോടെ തങ്ങളുടെ ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തികള് ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്തുപോന്നു.

7. I said: Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive correction: and her dwelling shall not perish, for all things wherein I have visited her: but they rose early and corrupted all their thoughts.

8. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് സാക്ഷിയായി എഴുന്നേലക്കുന്ന ദിവസംവരെ എനിക്കായി കാത്തിരിപ്പിന് എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; എന്റെ ക്രോധവും എന്റെ ഉഗ്രകോപവും പകരേണ്ടതിന്നു ജാതികളെ ചേര്ക്കുംവാനും രാജ്യങ്ങളെ കൂട്ടുവാനും ഞാന് നിര്ണ്ണയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; സര്വ്വഭൂമിയും എന്റെ തീക്ഷണതാഗ്നിക്കു ഇരയായ്തീരും.

8. Wherefore expect me, saith the Lord, in the day of my resurrection that is to come, for my judgment is to assemble the Gentiles, and to gather the kingdoms: and to pour upon them my indignation, all my fierce anger: for with the fire of my jealousy shall all the earth be devoured.

9. അപ്പോള് സകല ജാതികളും യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിച്ചു ഏകമനസ്സോടെ അവനെ സേവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും നിര്മ്മലമായുള്ള അധരങ്ങളെ വരുത്തും.

9. Because then I will restore to the people a chosen lip, that all may call upon the name of the Lord, and may serve him with one shoulder.

10. കൂശ് നദികളുടെ അക്കരെനിന്നു എന്റെ നമസ്കാരികള്, എന്റെ ചിതറിപ്പോയവരുടെ സഭതന്നേ, എനിക്കു വഴിപാടു കൊണ്ടുവരും.

10. From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia, shall my suppliants the children of my dispersed people bring me an offering.

11. അന്നാളില് ഞാന് നിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേനിന്നു നിന്റെ ഗര്വ്വോല്ലസിതന്മാരെ നീക്കിക്കളയും നീ എന്റെ വിശുദ്ധപര്വ്വതത്തില് ഇനി ഗര്വ്വിക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു നീ എന്നോടു അതിക്രമമായി ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന സകലപ്രവൃത്തികളും നിമിത്തം നീ അന്നാളില് ലജ്ജിക്കേണ്ടിവരികയില്ല.

11. In that day thou shalt not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee thy proud boasters, and thou shalt no more be lifted up because of my holy mountain.

12. ഞാന് നിന്റെ നടുവില് താഴ്മയും ദാരിദ്ര്യവും ഉള്ളോരു ജനത്തെ ശേഷിപ്പിക്കും; അവര് യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് ശരണം പ്രാപിക്കും.

12. And I will leave in the midst of thee a poor and needy people: and they shall hope in the name of the Lord.

13. യിസ്രായേലില് ശേഷിപ്പുള്ളവര് നീതികേടു പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കയില്ല; ഭോഷകുപറകയുമില്ല; ചതിവുള്ള നാവു അവരുടെ വായില് ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; അവര് മേഞ്ഞുകിടക്കും; ആരും അവരെ ഭയപ്പെടുത്തുകയുമില്ല.

13. The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies, nor shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed, and shall lie down, and there shall be none to make them afraid.

14. സീയോന് പുത്രിയേ, ഘോഷിച്ചാനന്ദിക്ക; യിസ്രായേലേ, ആര്പ്പിടുക; യെരൂശലേം പുത്രിയേ, പൂര്ണ്ണഹൃദയത്തോടെ സന്തോഷിച്ചുല്ലസിക്ക.

14. Give praise, O daughter of Sion: shout, O Israel: be glad, and rejoice with all thy heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.

15. യഹോവ നിന്റെ ന്യായവിധികളെ മാറ്റി, നിന്റെ ശത്രുവിനെ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജാവായ യഹോവ നിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; ഇനി നീ അനര്ത്ഥം കാണുകയില്ല.

15. The Lord hath taken away thy judgment, he hath turned away thy enemies: the king of Israel the Lord is in the midst of thee, thou shalt fear evil no more.

16. അന്നാളില് അവര് യെരൂശലേമിനോടുഭയപ്പെടരുതെന്നും സീയോനോടുഅധൈര്യപ്പെടരുതെന്നും പറയും.

16. In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem: Fear not: to Sion: Let not thy hands be weakened.

17. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ രക്ഷിക്കുന്ന വീരനായി നിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവന് നിന്നില് അത്യന്തം സന്തോഷിക്കും; തന്റെ സ്നേഹത്തില് അവന് മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കുന്നു; ഘോഷത്തോടെ അവന് നിങ്കല് ആനന്ദിക്കും.

17. The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty, he will save: he will rejoice over thee with gladness, he will be silent in his love, he will be joyful over thee in praise.

18. ലജ്ജാഭാരം വഹിച്ചവളായ നിനക്കുള്ളവരായി സംഘത്തെ വിട്ടു ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നവരെ ഞാന് ചേര്ത്തുകൊള്ളും.

18. The triflers that were departed from the law, I will gather together, because they were of thee: that thou mayest no more suffer reproach for them.

19. നിന്നെ ക്ളേശിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഏവരോടും ഞാന് ആ കാലത്തു ഇടപെടും; മുടന്തിനടക്കുന്നതിനെ ഞാന് രക്ഷിക്കയും ചിതറിപ്പോയതിനെ ശേഖരിക്കയും സര്വ്വഭൂമിയിലും ലജ്ജനേരിട്ടവരെ പ്രശംസയും കീര്ത്തിയുമാക്കിത്തീര്ക്കുംകയും ചെയ്യും.

19. Behold I will cut off all that have afflicted thee at that time: and I will save her that halteth, and will gather her that was cast out: and I will get them praise, and a name, in all the land where they had been put to confusion.

20. ആ കാലത്തു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ വരുത്തുകയും ആ കാലത്തു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ ശേഖരിക്കയും ചെയ്യും; നിങ്ങള് കാണ്കെ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവാസികളെ മടക്കിവരുത്തുമ്പോള് ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലജാതികളുടെയും ഇടയില് കീര്ത്തിയും പ്രശംസയും ആക്കിത്തീര്ക്കുംമെന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

20. At that time, when I will bring you: and at the time that I will gather you: for I will give you a name, and praise among all the people of the earth, when I shall have brought back your captivity before your eyes, saith the Lord.
