1. ലെബാനോനേ, നിന്റെ ദേവദാരുക്കള് തീക്കു ഇരയായ്തീരേണ്ടതിന്നു വാതില് തുറന്നുവെക്കുക.

1. Open your doors, L'vanon, so that fire can consume your cedars.

2. ദേവദാരു വീണും മഹത്തുക്കള് നശിച്ചും ഇരിക്കയാല് സരളവൃക്ഷമേ, ഔളിയിടുക; ദുര്ഗ്ഗമവനം വീണിരിക്കയാല് ബാശാനിലെ കരുവേലങ്ങളേ, ഔളിയിടുവിന് !

2. Wail, cypress, because the cedar has fallen, those splendid trees are ruined. Wail, oaks of Bashan, because the thick forest has been felled.

3. ഇടയന്മാരുടെ മഹത്വം നശിച്ചിട്ടു അവര് മുറയിടുന്നതു കേട്ടുവോ? യോര്ദ്ദാന്റെ മുറ്റു കാടു നശിച്ചിട്ടു ബാലസിംഹങ്ങളുടെ ഗര്ജ്ജനം കേട്ടുവോ?

3. Listen to the wail of the shepherds, because their glory is spoiled. Listen to the roaring of young lions, because the Yarden's thickets are plundered.

4. എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഅറുപ്പാനുള്ള ആടുകളെ മേയ്ക്ക.

4. ADONAI my God says this: 'Shepherd the flock for slaughter.

5. അവയെ മേടിക്കുന്നവര് കുറ്റം എന്നു എണ്ണാതെ അവയെ അറുക്കുന്നു; അവയെ വിലക്കുന്നവരോഞാന് ധനവാനായ്തീര്ന്നതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവേക്കു സ്തോത്രം എന്നു പറയുന്നു; അവയുടെ ഇടയന്മാര് അവയെ ആദരിക്കുന്നില്ല.

5. Their buyers kill them and go unpunished; while those who sell them say, '[Barukh ADONAI]! Now I'm rich!' Even their own shepherds show them no pity.

6. ഞാന് ഇനി ദേശനിവാസികളെ ആദരിക്കയില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; ഞാന് മനുഷ്യരെ ഔരോരുത്തനെ അവനവന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ കയ്യിലും അവനവന്റെ രാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യിലും ഏല്പിക്കും; അവന് ദേശത്തെ തകര്ത്തുകളയും; അവരുടെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു ഞാന് അവരെ രക്ഷിക്കയുമില്ല.

6. I will no longer show pity to the inhabitants of the land,' says ADONAI. 'No, I will hand every one of them over to the power of a neighbor and to the power of his king; they will crush the land; and I won't rescue them from their power.'

7. So I shepherded the flock for slaughter, truly the most miserable of the sheep; and I took two staffs for myself. I called the one No'am [[pleasantness]], the other I called Hovalim [[bound together]], and I shepherded the flock.

8. എന്നാല് ഞാന് ഒരു മാസത്തില് മൂന്നു ഇടയന്മാരെ ഛേദിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; എനിക്കു അവരോടു വെറുപ്പു തോന്നി, അവര്ക്കും എന്നോടും നീരസം തോന്നിയിരുന്നു.

8. 'In a single month I got rid of three shepherds, because I grew impatient with them; and besides, they detested me.

9. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ മേയ്ക്കയില്ല; മരിക്കുന്നതു മരിക്കട്ടെ, കാണാതെപോകുന്നതു കാണാതൈ പോകട്ടെ; ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവ ഒന്നു ഒന്നിന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നുകളയട്ടെ എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞു.

9. I said, 'I'm not going to shepherd you. Whichever one is going to die, let it die; whichever is going to be destroyed, let it be destroyed; and the rest can all devour each other.''

10. അനന്തരം ഞാന് ഇമ്പം എന്ന കോല് എടുത്തുഞാന് സകലജാതികളോടും ചെയ്തിരുന്ന എന്റെ നിയമത്തെ മുറിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അതിനെ മുറിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

10. I took my staff No'am and snapped it in two, 'in order to break my covenant, which I made with all the peoples.'

11. അതു ആ ദിവസത്തില് തന്നേ മുറിഞ്ഞുപോയി; അങ്ങനെ, എന്നെ നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്ന കൂട്ടത്തില് അരിഷ്ടതയേറിയവ അതു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു എന്നു ഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

11. On that day when it was broken, the most miserable of the sheep who paid attention to me knew that this was indeed a message from ADONAI.

12. I said to them, 'If it seems good to you, give me my wages; if not, don't.' So they weighed out my wages, thirty silver [[[shekel]s, that is, twelve ounces]].

13. Concerning that 'princely sum' at which they valued me, ADONAI said, 'Throw it into the treasury!' So I took the thirty silver [[[shekel]s]] and threw them into the treasury in the house of ADONAI.

14. അനന്തരം ഞാന് , യെഹൂദയും യിസ്രായേലും തമ്മിലുള്ള സഹോദരത്വം ഭിന്നിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഒരുമ എന്ന മറ്റെ കോല് മുറിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

14. Then I snapped in two my other staff Hovalim [[bound together]], in order to break up the brotherhood between Y'hudah and Isra'el.

15. എന്നാല് യഹോവ എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുനീ ഇനി ഒരു തുമ്പുകെട്ട ഇടയന്റെ കോപ്പു എടുത്തുകൊള്ക.

15. ADONAI said to me, 'This time, take the equipment of a worthless shepherd.

16. ഞാന് ദേശത്തില് ഒരു ഇടയനെ എഴുന്നേല്പിക്കും; അവന് കാണാതെപോയവയെ നോക്കുകയോ ചിതറിപ്പോയവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കയോ മുറിവേറ്റവയെ പൊറുപ്പിക്കയോ ദീനമില്ലാത്തവയെ പോറ്റുകയോ ചെയ്യാതെ തടിച്ചവയുടെ മാംസം തിന്നുകയും കുളമ്പുകളെ കീറിക്കളകയും ചെയ്യും.

16. For I am going to raise up a shepherd in the land who won't bother about the ones who have been destroyed, won't seek out the young, won't heal the broken and won't feed those standing still; on the contrary, he will eat the meat of the fat ones and break their hoofs in pieces.

17. ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടത്തെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളയുന്ന തുമ്പുകെട്ട ഇടയന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! അവന്റെ ഭുജത്തിന്നും വലങ്കണ്ണിന്നും വരള്ച! അവന്റെ ഭുജം അശേഷം വരണ്ടും വലങ്കണ്ണു അശേഷം ഇരുണ്ടും പോകട്ടെ.

17. Woe to the worthless shepherd who abandons the sheep! May a sword strike his arm and his right eye. May his arm be completely withered and his right eye totally blinded.'
