1. മോശെ ഒരു കൂശ്യസ്ത്രീയെ വിവാഹം ചെയ്തിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു കൂശ്യസ്ത്രീനിമിത്തം മിര്യ്യാമും അഹരോനും അവന്നു വിരോധമായി സംസാരിച്ചു

1. Although Moses was the most humble person in all the world, Miriam and Aaron started complaining, 'Moses had no right to marry that woman from Ethiopia! Who does he think he is? The LORD has spoken to us, not just to him.' The LORD heard their complaint

2. യഹോവ മോശെ മുഖാന്തരം മാത്രമേ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ളുവോ? ഞങ്ങള് മുഖാന്തരവും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; യഹോവ അതു കേട്ടു.

4. പെട്ടെന്നു യഹോവ മോശെയോടും അഹരോനോടും മിര്യ്യാമിനോടുംനിങ്ങള് മൂവരും സമാഗമനക്കുടാരത്തിങ്കല് വരുവിന് എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; അവര് മൂവരും ചെന്നു.

4. and told Moses, Aaron, and Miriam to come to the entrance of the sacred tent.

5. യഹോവ മേഘസ്തംഭത്തില് ഇറങ്ങി കൂടാരവാതില്ക്കല് നിന്നു അഹരോനെയും മിര്യ്യാമിനെയും വിളിച്ചു; അവര് ഇരുവരും അങ്ങോട്ടു ചെന്നു.

5. There the LORD appeared in a cloud and told Aaron and Miriam to come closer.

6. പിന്നെ അവന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുഎന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ കേള്പ്പിന് ; നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് ഒരു പ്രവാചകന് ഉണ്ടെങ്കില് യഹോവയായ ഞാന് അവന്നു ദര്ശനത്തില് എന്നെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുകയും സ്വപ്നത്തില് അവനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്കയും ചെയ്യും.

6. Then after commanding them to listen carefully, he said: 'I, the LORD, speak to prophets in visions and dreams.

7. എന്റെ ദാസനായ മോശെയോ അങ്ങനെയല്ല; അവന് എന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തില് ഒക്കെയും വിശ്വസ്തന് ആകുന്നു.

7. But my servant Moses is the leader of my people.

8. അവനോടു ഞാന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നതു മറപൊരുളായിട്ടല്ല അഭിമുഖമായിട്ടും സ്പഷ്ടമായിട്ടും അത്രേ; അവന് യഹോവയുടെ രൂപം കാണുകയും ചെയ്യും. അങ്ങനെയിരിക്കെ നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ ദാസനായ മോശെക്കു വിരോധമായി സംസാരിപ്പാന് ശങ്കിക്കാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു?

8. He sees me face to face, and everything I say to him is perfectly clear. You have no right to criticize my servant Moses.'

9. യഹോവയുടെ കോപം അവരുടെ നേരെ ജ്വലിച്ചു അവന് മറഞ്ഞു.

9. The LORD became angry at Aaron and Miriam. And after the LORD left

10. മേഘവും കൂടാരത്തിന്മേല് നിന്നു നീങ്ങിപ്പോയി. മിര്യ്യാം ഹിമംപോലെ വെളുത്തു കുഷ്ഠരോഗിണിയായി; അഹരോന് മിര്യ്യാമിനെ നോക്കിയപ്പോള് അവള് കുഷ്ടരോഗിണി എന്നു കണ്ടു.

10. and the cloud disappeared from over the sacred tent, Miriam's skin turned white with leprosy. When Aaron saw what had happened to her,

11. അഹരോന് മോശെയോടുഅയ്യോ യജമാനനേ, ഞങ്ങള് ഭോഷത്വമായി ചെയ്തുപോയ ഈ പാപം ഞങ്ങളുടെമേല് വെക്കരുതേ.

11. he said to Moses, 'Sir, please don't punish us for doing such a foolish thing.

12. അമ്മയുടെ ഗര്ഭത്തില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുമ്പോള് മാംസം പകുതി അഴുകിയിരിക്കുന്ന ചാപിള്ളയെപ്പോലെ ഇവള് ആകരുതേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

12. Don't let Miriam's flesh rot away like a child born dead!'

13. അപ്പോള് മോശെ യഹോവയോടുദൈവമേ, അവളെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കേണമേ എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു.

13. Moses prayed, 'LORD God, please heal her.'

14. യഹോവ മോശെയോടുഅവളുടെ അപ്പന് അവളുടെ മുഖത്തു തുപ്പിയെങ്കില് അവള് ഏഴുദിവസം ലജ്ജിച്ചിരിക്കയില്ലയോ? അവളെ ഏഴു ദിവസത്തേക്കു പാളയത്തിന്നു പുറത്തു അടെച്ചിടേണം; പിന്നത്തേതില് അവളെ ചേര്ത്തുകൊള്ളാം എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

14. But the LORD replied, 'Miriam would be disgraced for seven days if her father had punished her by spitting in her face. So make her stay outside the camp for seven days, before coming back.'

15. ഇങ്ങനെ മിര്യ്യാമിനെ ഏഴു ദിവസം പാളയത്തിന്നു പുറത്തു ആക്കി അടെച്ചിട്ടു; അവളെ വീണ്ടും അംഗീകരിച്ചതുവരെ ജനം യാത്ര ചെയ്യാതിരുന്നു.

15. The people of Israel did not move their camp until Miriam returned seven days later.

16. അതിന്റെ ശേഷം ജനം ഹസേരോത്തില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു പാരാന് മരുഭൂമിയില് പാളയമിറങ്ങി.

16. Then they left Hazeroth and set up camp in the Paran Desert.
