1. ആ ദിവസങ്ങളില് ഒന്നില് അവന് ദൈവാലയത്തില് ജനത്തോടു ഉപദേശിച്ചു സുവിശേഷം അറിയിക്കുമ്പോള് മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരുമായി അടുത്തു വന്നു അവനോടു

1. As He was teaching and preaching the Good News, the religious leaders and the teachers of the Law and the elders came.

2. നീ എന്തു അധികാരംകൊണ്ടു ഇതു ചെയ്യുന്നു? ഈ അധികാരം നിനക്കു തന്നതു ആര്? ഞങ്ങളോടു പറക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

2. They said to Him, 'Tell us, by what right and power are You doing these things? Who gave You the right and the power?'

3. അതിന്നു ഉത്തരമായി അവന് ഞാനും നിങ്ങളോടു ഒരു വാക്കു ചോദിക്കും; അതു എന്നോടു പറവിന് .

3. Jesus said to them, 'I will ask you one question also. You answer Me.

4. യോഹന്നാന്റെ സ്നാനം സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നോ മനുഷ്യരില്നിന്നോ ഉണ്ടായതു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

4. Was the baptism of John from heaven or from men?'

5. അവര് തമ്മില് നിരൂപിച്ചുസ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് നിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല് പിന്നെ നിങ്ങള് അവനെ വിശ്വസിക്കാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു എന്നു അവന് ചോദിക്കും.

5. They said to themselves, 'If we say, 'From heaven,' He will say, 'Then why did you not believe Him?'

6. But if we say, 'From men,' then all the people will throw stones at us because they believe John was one who spoke for God.'

7. എവിടെനിന്നോ ഞങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

7. They said that they did not know where John's baptism came from.

8. യേശു അവരോടുഎന്നാല് ഞാന് ഇതു ചെയ്യുന്നതു ഇന്ന അധികാരം കൊണ്ടാകുന്നു എന്നുള്ളതു ഞാനും നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

8. Jesus said to them, 'And I will not tell you where I get the right and the power to do these things.'

9. അനന്തരം അവന് ജനത്തോടു ഉപമ പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് ഒരു മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം നട്ടുണ്ടാക്കി കുടിയാന്മാരെ പാട്ടത്തിന്നു ഏല്പിച്ചിട്ടു ഏറിയ കാലം പരദേശത്തു പോയി പാര്ത്തു.

9. Jesus began to tell the people a picture-story, saying, 'There was a man who planted a grape-field. He rented it to farmers. Then he went to a country far away for a long time.

10. At the time of gathering fruit he sent one of his servants to the farmers to get some of the fruit. But the farmers beat him and sent him away without fruit.

11. അവന് മറ്റൊരു ദാസനെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു; അവനെയും അവര് തല്ലി അപമാനിച്ചു വെറുതെ അയച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

11. He sent another servant. The farmers beat him also. They made it very hard for him and sent him away without fruit.

12. അവന് മൂന്നാമതു ഒരുത്തനെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു; അവര് അവനെയും മുറിവേല്പിച്ചു പുറത്താക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

12. He sent a third servant. They hurt him and threw him out of the grape-field.

13. അപ്പോള് മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഉടമസ്ഥന് ഞാന് എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു? എന്റെ പ്രിയ പുത്രനെ അയക്കും; പക്ഷേ അവര് അവനെ ശങ്കിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. 'Then the owner of the grape-field said, 'What should I do? I will send my much-loved son. They might respect him.'

14. കുടിയാന്മാര് അവനെ കണ്ടിട്ടുഇവന് അവകാശി; അവകാശം നമുക്കു ആകേണ്ടതിന്നു നാം അവനെ കൊന്നുകളക എന്നു തമ്മില് ആലോചിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

14. The farmers saw the son. They said to themselves, 'This is the one who will get everything when the owner dies. Let us kill him, and we will get everything.'

15. അവര് അവനെ തോട്ടത്തില് നിന്നു പുറത്താക്കി കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു. എന്നാല് തോട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഉടമസ്ഥന് അവരോടു എന്തു ചെയ്യും?

15. They put him out of the grape-field and killed him. Now what will the owner of the grape-field do to them?

16. അവന് വന്നു ആ കുടിയാന്മാരെ നിഗ്രഹിച്ചു തോട്ടം അന്യന്മാര്ക്കും ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും. അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു അവര് അങ്ങനെ ഒരുനാളും സംഭവിക്കയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

16. He will come and kill those farmers. Then he will rent the grape-field to other farmers.' When they heard this, they said, 'May this never be done!'

17. അവനോ അവരെ നോക്കി“എന്നാല് വീടുപണിയുന്നവര് തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞ കല്ലു മൂലക്കല്ലായിത്തീര്ന്നു” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?

17. Jesus looked at them and said, 'What does this writing mean, 'The Stone that was put aside by the workmen has become the most important Stone in the building'? (Psalm 118:22)

18. ആ കല്ലിന്മേല് വീഴുന്ന ഏവനും തകര്ന്നുപോകും; അതു ആരുടെ മേല് എങ്കിലും വീണാല് അവനെ ധൂളിപ്പിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

18. Whoever falls on this Stone will be broken. And on the one it falls, it will make him like dust.' (Isaiah 8:14-15)

19. ഈ ഉപമ തങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ഗ്രഹിച്ചിട്ടു ആ നാഴികയില് തന്നേ അവന്റെ മേല് കൈവെപ്പാന് നോക്കി എങ്കിലും ജനത്തെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു.

19. At this time the religious leaders and the teachers of the Law tried to take Jesus, but they were afraid of the people. These leaders knew Jesus had told this picture-story against them.

20. പിന്നെ അവര് അവനെ നാടുവാഴിയുടെ അധീനതയിലും അധികാരത്തിലും ഏല്പിപ്പാന്തക്കവണ്ണം അവനെ വാക്കില് പിടിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തക്കം നോക്കി നീതിമാന്മാര് എന്നു നടിക്കുന്ന ഒറ്റുകാരെ അയച്ചു.

20. They watched Jesus and they sent men who pretended to be good people to watch Him. They wanted to trap Him in something He said. Then they could give Him over to the leader of the people who had the right and the power to say what to do with Him.

21. അവര് അവനോടുഗുരോ, നീ നേര് പറഞ്ഞു ഉപദേശിക്കയും മുഖപക്ഷം നോക്കാതെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വഴി യഥാര്ത്ഥമായി പഠിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നു.

21. These men who were sent asked Jesus, 'Teacher, we know what You say and teach is right. We know You do not show more respect to one person than to another. We know You teach the truth about God.

22. നാം കൈസര്ക്കും കരം കൊടുക്കുന്നതു വിഹിതമോ അല്ലയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

22. Is it right for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not?'

23. അവരുടെ ഉപായം ഗ്രഹിച്ചിട്ടു അവന് അവരോടുഒരു വെള്ളിക്കാശ് കാണിപ്പിന് ;

23. Jesus knew they were trying to trap Him. He said,

24. അതിനുള്ള സ്വരൂപവും മേലെഴുത്തും ആരുടേതു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുകൈസരുടേതു എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

24. Show Me a piece of money. Whose picture is this? Whose name is on it?' And they said, 'Caesar's.'

25. എന്നാല് കൈസര്ക്കുംള്ളതു കൈസര്ക്കും ദൈവത്തിന്നുള്ളതു ദൈവത്തിന്നും കൊടുപ്പിന് എന്നു അവന് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

25. Jesus said to them, 'Pay to Caesar the things that belong to Caesar. Pay to God the things that belong to God.'

26. അങ്ങനെ അവര് ജനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പില് വെച്ചു അവനെ വാക്കില് പിടിപ്പാന് കഴിയാതെ അവന്റെ ഉത്തരത്തില് ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു മിണ്ടാതിരുന്നു.

26. They could find nothing wrong with what He taught. They were surprised and wondered about what He told the people, so they said nothing more.

27. പുനരുത്ഥാനം ഇല്ല എന്നു പറയുന്ന സദൂക്യരില് ചിലര് അടുത്തു വന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചതു

27. Some people from the religious group who believe no one will be raised from the dead came to Jesus. They asked Him,

28. ഗുരോ, ഒരുത്തന്റെ സഹോദരന് വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചിട്ടു മക്കളില്ലാതെ മരിച്ചുപോയാല് അവന്റെ സഹോദരന് അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു സഹോദരന്നു സന്തതിയെ ജനിപ്പിക്കേണം എന്നു മോശെ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

28. Teacher, Moses wrote to us in the Law, 'If a man's brother dies and leaves a wife but no children, then his brother must marry her. He should have children for his brother who died.' (Deuteronomy 25:5)

29. എന്നാല് ഏഴു സഹോദരന്മാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവരില് ഒന്നാമത്തവന് ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെ വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചു മക്കളില്ലാതെ മരിച്ചുപോയി.

29. There were seven brothers. The first had a wife but died without children.

30. രണ്ടാമത്തവനും മൂന്നാമത്തവനും അവളെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

30. The second brother took her for his wife. He died without children.

31. അവ്വണ്ണം ഏഴുപേരും ചെയ്തു മക്കളില്ലാതെ മരിച്ചുപോയി.

31. The third brother took her for his wife. In the same way all seven took her for a wife. They all died without children.

32. ഒടുവില് സ്ത്രീയും മരിച്ചു.

32. Then the woman died also.

33. എന്നാല് പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തില് അവള് അവരില് ഏവന്നു ഭാര്യയാകും? ഏഴുവര്ക്കും ഭാര്യയായിരുന്നുവല്ലോ.

33. When people are raised from the dead, whose wife will she be? All seven brothers had her for a wife.'

34. അതിന്നു യേശു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതുഈ ലോകത്തിന്റെ മക്കള് വിവാഹം കഴിക്കയും വിവാഹത്തിന്നു കൊടുക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

34. Jesus said to them, 'People of this earth marry and are given in marriage.

35. എങ്കിലും ആ ലോകത്തിന്നും മരിച്ചവരില് നിന്നുള്ള പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തിന്നും യോഗ്യരായവര് വിവാഹം കഴിയക്കയുമില്ല വിവാഹത്തിന്നു കൊടുക്കപ്പെടുകയുമില്ല; അവര്ക്കും ഇനി മരിപ്പാനും കഴികയില്ല.

35. But those who have the right to have that life and are raised from the dead do not marry and are not given in marriage.

36. അവന് പുനരുത്ഥാനപുത്രന്മാരാകയാല് ദൈവദൂതതുല്യരും ദൈവ പുത്രന്മാരും ആകുന്നു.

36. They cannot die anymore. They are as the angels and are sons of God. They are children who have been raised from the dead.

37. മരിച്ചവര് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേലക്കുന്നു എന്നതോ മോശെയും മുള്പ്പടര്പ്പുഭാഗത്തു കര്ത്താവിനെ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവവും യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ദൈവവും യാക്കോബിന്റെ ദൈവവും എന്നു പറയുന്നതിനാല് സൂചിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

37. As for the dead being raised, even Moses spoke of that when he told of the burning bush. There he calls the Lord, the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.

38. For He is not the God of the dead. He is the God of the living. All live for Him.'

39. One of the teachers of the Law said, 'Teacher, You have spoken well.'

40. പിന്നെ അവനോടു ഒന്നും ചോദിപ്പാന് അവര് തുനിഞ്ഞതുമില്ല.

40. After that they were afraid to ask Him anything.

41. എന്നാല് അവന് അവരോടുക്രിസ്തു ദാവീദിന്റെ പുത്രന് എന്നു പറയുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?

41. Jesus said to them, 'How do they say that Christ is the Son of David?

42. “കര്ത്താവു എന്റെ കര്ത്താവിനോടുഞാന് നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ നിന്റെ പാദ പീഠമാക്കുവോളം എന്റെ വലത്തുഭാഗത്തിരിക്ക എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു”

42. For David himself said in the Book of Psalms, 'The Lord said to My Lord, 'Sit at my right side

43. until I make those who hate You a place to rest Your feet.' ' (Psalm 110:1)

44. David calls Him, 'Lord!' Then how can He be his son?'

45. All the people were listening. He said to His followers,

46. Look out for the teachers of the Law. They like to walk around in long coats. They like to have people speak words of respect to them in the center of town where people gather. They like the important seats in the places of worship. They like the important places at big suppers.

47. അവര് വിധവമാരുടെ വീടുകളെ വിഴുങ്ങുകയും ഉപായരൂപേണ ദീര്ഘമായി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; അവര്ക്കും ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ശിക്ഷാവിധിവരും.

47. They take houses from poor women whose husbands have died. They cover up their actions by making long prayers. They will be punished all the more.'
