1. അവര് ഒരുക്കിയ സുഗന്ധവര്ഗ്ഗം എടുത്തു ആഴ്ചവട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഒന്നാം ദിവസം അതികാലത്തു എത്തി,

1. but, on the first day of the week, at early dawn, unto the tomb, came they, bringing the spices which they had prepared.

2. കല്ലറയില് നിന്നു കല്ലു ഉരുട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞതായി കണ്ടു.

2. And they found the stone, rolled away from the tomb;

3. അകത്തു കടന്നാറെ കര്ത്താവായ യേശുവിന്റെ ശരീരം കണ്ടില്ല.

3. but, when they entered, they found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

4. അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അവര് ചഞ്ചലിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോള് മിന്നുന്ന വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ച രണ്ടു പുരുഷാന്മാര് അരികെ നിലക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

4. And it came to pass, while they were perplexing themselves concerning this, that 1o! two men, stood near them, in dazzling raiment.

5. ഭയപ്പെട്ടു മുഖം കുനിച്ചു നിലക്കുമ്പോള് അവര് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് ജീവനുള്ളവനെ മരിച്ചവരുടെ ഇടയില് അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?

5. And, they becoming afraid, and bending their faces unto the ground, they said unto them Why seek ye the Living One with the dead?

6. അവന് ഇവിടെ ഇല്ല ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റിരിക്കുന്നു;

6. He is not here, but hath arisen: Remember how he spake unto you while yet he was in Galilee:

7. Saying, as to the Son of Man, that he must needs be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and, on the third day, arise.

8. അവര് അവന്റെ വാക്കു ഔര്ത്തു,

8. And they remembered his sayings;

9. കല്ലറ വിട്ടു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി പതിനൊരുവര് മുതലായ എല്ലാവരോടും ഇതു ഒക്കെയും അറിയിച്ചു.

9. and, returning from the tomb , reported all these things unto the eleven, and unto all the rest.

10. അവര് ആരെന്നാല് മഗ്ദലക്കാരത്തി മറിയ, യോഹന്നാ, യാക്കോബിന്റെ അമ്മ മറിയ എന്നവര് തന്നേ. അവരോടുകൂടെയുള്ള മറ്റു സ്ത്രീകളും അതു അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

10. Now they were the Magdalene Mary, and Joana, and Mary the mother of James; and, the other women with them, were telling, unto the apostles, these things.

11. ഈ വാക്കു അവര്ക്കും വെറും കഥപോലെ തോന്നി; അവരെ വിശ്വസിച്ചില്ല.

11. And these sayings appeared before them, as if idle talk, and they were minded to disbelieve them.

12. (എന്നാല് പത്രൊസ് എഴുന്നേറ്റു കല്ലറെക്കല് ഔടിച്ചെന്നു കുനിഞ്ഞു നോക്കി, തുണി മാത്രം കണ്ടു, സംഭവിച്ചതെന്തെന്നു ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു മടങ്ങിപ്പോന്നു.)

12. But, Peter, arising, ran unto the tomb, and, bending near, beholdeth the linen bandages, alone; and departed, unto himself, marvelling at the thing that had happened.

13. അന്നു തന്നേ അവരില് രണ്ടുപേര് യെരൂശലേമില്നിന്നു ഏഴു നാഴിക ദൂരമുള്ള എമ്മവുസ്സ് എന്ന ഗ്രാമത്തിലേക്കു പോകയില്

13. And lo! two from among them, on the selfsame day, were journeying unto a village, distant sixty furlongs from Jerusalem, the name of which, was Emmaus;

14. ഈ സംഭവിച്ചതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഒക്കെയും തമ്മില് സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

14. and, they, were conversing one with another, about all these things which had occurred.

15. സംസാരിച്ചും തര്ക്കിച്ചും കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് യേശു താനും അടുത്തുചെന്നു അവരോടു ചേര്ന്നു നടന്നു.

15. And it came to pass, as they were conversing and reasoning together, that, Jesus himself, drawing near, was journeying with them;

16. അവനെ അറിയാതവണ്ണം അവരുടെ കണ്ണു നിരോധിച്ചിരുന്നു.

16. but, their eyes, were held, so as not to know him.

17. അവന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് വഴിനടന്നു തമ്മില് വാദിക്കുന്ന ഈ കാര്യം എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു; അവര് വാടിയ മുഖത്തോടെ നിന്നു.

17. And he said unto them What are these things which ye are debating one with another, as ye walk along? And they came to a stand, sad in countenance.

18. ക്ളെയൊപ്പാവു എന്നു പേരുള്ളവന് ; യെരൂശലേമിലെ പരദേശികളില് നീ മാത്രം ഈ നാളുകളില് അവിടെ സംഭവിച്ച കാര്യം അറിയാതിരിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

18. But one, by name Cleopas, answering, said unto him Art, thou, lodging, alone, in Jerusalem, and knowest not the things which have come to pass therein in these days?

19. ഏതു എന്നു അവന് അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവര് അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുദൈവത്തിന്നും സകലജനത്തിനും മുമ്പാകെ പ്രവൃത്തിയിലും വാക്കിലും ശക്തിയുള്ള പ്രവാചകനായിരുന്ന നസറായനായ യേശുവിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ളതു തന്നേ.

19. And he said unto them What things? And, they, said unto him The things concerning Jesus the Nazarene, who became a prophet, mighty in work and word, before God and all the people:

20. നമ്മുടെ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും പ്രമാണികളും അവനെ മരണവിധിക്കു ഏല്പിച്ചു ക്രൂശിച്ചു.

20. In what way also our High-priests and Rulers delivered him up unto a sentence of death, and crucified him.

21. ഞങ്ങളോ അവന് യിസ്രായേലിനെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പാനുള്ളവന് എന്നു ആശിച്ചിരുന്നു; അത്രയുമല്ല, ഇതു സംഭവിച്ചിട്ടു ഇന്നു മൂന്നാം നാള് ആകുന്നു.

21. We, however, were hoping that, he, was the one destined to redeem Israel! But indeed, even with all these things, this brings on, the third, day, since these things happened:

22. ഞങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് ചില സ്ത്രീകള് രാവിലെ കല്ലറെക്കല് പോയി

22. Nay! certain women also, from amongst us, have made us beside ourselves, in that they went early unto the tomb;

23. അവന്റെ ശരീരം കാണാതെ മടങ്ങിവന്നു അവന് ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ ദൂതന്മാരുടെ ദര്ശനം കണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ഞങ്ങളെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിച്ചു.

23. and, not finding his body, came, saying that, a vision of messengers, they had seen, who were affirming him to be alive.

24. ഞങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് ചിലര് കല്ലറക്കല് ചെന്നു സ്ത്രീകള് പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ തന്നേ കണ്ടു; അവനെ കണ്ടില്ലതാനും.

24. And certain of them who were with us departed unto the tomb, and found so, according as, the women, had said; but, him, they saw not.

25. അവന് അവരോടുഅയ്യോ, ബുദ്ധിഹീനരേ, പ്രവാചകന്മാര് പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതു എല്ലാം വിശ്വസിക്കാത്ത മന്ദബുദ്ധികളേ,

25. And, he, said unto them O thoughtless ones! and slow in heart to rest your faith upon all things which the prophets have spoken:

26. ക്രിസ്തു ഇങ്ങനെ കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിച്ചിട്ടു തന്റെ മഹത്വത്തില് കടക്കേണ്ടതല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

26. Was it not needful for the Christ, these very things, to suffer, and to enter into his glory?

27. മോശെ തുടങ്ങി സകലപ്രവാചകന്മാരില് നിന്നും എല്ലാതിരുവെഴുത്തുകളിലും തന്നെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ളതു അവര്ക്കും വ്യാഖ്യാനിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

27. And, beginning from Moses, and from all the prophets, he thoroughly explained to them, in all the Scriptures, the things concerning himself.

28. അവര് പോകുന്ന ഗ്രാമത്തോടു അടുത്തപ്പോള് അവന് മുമ്പോട്ടു പോകുന്ന ഭാവം കാണിച്ചു.

28. And they drew near unto the village, whither they were journeying; and, he, made for journeying, further.

29. അവരോഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ പാര്ക്കുംക; നേരം വൈകി അസ്തമിപ്പാറായല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ നിര്ബന്ധിച്ചു; അവന് അവരോടുകൂടെ പാര്പ്പാന് ചെന്നു.

29. And they constrained him, saying Abide with us; because it is, towards evening, and the day hath already declined. And he went in to abide with them.

30. അവരുമായി ഭക്ഷണത്തിന്നു ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന് അപ്പം എടുത്തു അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു നുറുക്കി അവര്ക്കുംകൊടുത്തു.

30. And it came to pass, when he reclined with them, taking the loaf, he blessed, and, breaking it, went on to give unto them.

31. ഉടനെ അവരുടെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നു അവര് അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞു; അവന് അവര്ക്കും അപ്രത്യക്ഷനായി

31. And, their, eyes were opened, and they knew him; and, he, vanished from them.

32. അവന് വഴിയില് നമ്മോടു സംസാരിച്ചു തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെ തെളിയിക്കുമ്പോള് നമ്മുടെ ഹൃദയം നമ്മുടെ ഉള്ളില് കത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നില്ലയോ എന്നു അവര് തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞു.

32. And they said one to another Was not, our heart, burning, as he was speaking to us in the way, as he was opening to us the Scriptures?

33. ആ നാഴികയില് തന്നേ അവര് എഴുന്നേറ്റു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോന്നു.

33. And, arising in that very hour, they returned unto Jerusalem, and found, gathered together, the eleven, and them who were with them,

34. കര്ത്താവു വാസ്തവമായി ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു ശിമോന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി എന്നു കൂടിയിരുന്നു പറയുന്ന പതിനൊരുവരെയും കൂടെയുള്ളവരെയും കണ്ടു.

34. saying In truth, the Lord hath arisen, and hath appeared unto Simon!

35. വഴിയില് സംഭവിച്ചതും അവന് അപ്പം നുറുക്കുകയില് തങ്ങള്ക്കു അറിയായ്വന്നതും അവര് വിവരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

35. And, they, went on to relate the things, that had passed on the journey, and how he was made known unto them in the breaking of the loaf.

36. ഇങ്ങനെ അവര് സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന് അവരുടെ നടുവില് നിന്നു(നിങ്ങള്ക്കു സമാധാനം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.)

36. Now, as, these very things, they were telling, he himself, stood in their midst and saith unto them Peace to you!

37. അവര് ഞെട്ടി ഭയപ്പെട്ടു; ഒരു ഭൂതത്തെ കാണുന്നു എന്നു അവര്ക്കും തോന്നി.

37. But, being agitated and becoming, afraid, they began to imagine, that, upon a spirit, they were looking.

38. അവന് അവരോടു നിങ്ങള് കലങ്ങുന്നതു എന്തു? നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തില് സംശയം പൊങ്ങുന്നതും എന്തു?

38. And he said unto them Why are ye troubled? and for what cause do reasonings arise in your hearts?

39. ഞാന് തന്നെ ആകുന്നു എന്നു എന്റെ കയ്യും കാലും നോക്കി അറിവിന് ; എന്നെ തൊട്ടുനോക്കുവിന് ; എന്നില് കാണുന്നതുപോലെ ഭൂതത്തിന്നു മാംസവും അസ്ഥിയും ഇല്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

39. See my hands, and my feet, that it is, I, myself: Handle me, and see! because, a spirit, hath not, flesh and bones, as ye perceive, I, have.

40. (ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് കയ്യും കാലും അവരെ കാണിച്ചു.)

40. And, this saying, he pointed out to them his hands and his feet.

41. അവര് സന്തോഷത്താല് വിശ്വസിക്കാതെ അതിശയിച്ചു നിലക്കുമ്പോള് അവരോടുതിന്നുവാന് വല്ലതും ഇവിടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ പക്കല് ഉണ്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

41. Now, while yet they believed not for the joy, and were marvelling, he said unto them Have ye anything to eat, here?

42. അവര് ഒരു ഖണ്ഡം വറുത്ത മീനും (തേന് കട്ടയും) അവന്നു കൊടുത്തു.

42. And they gave unto him a piece of boiled fish;

43. അതു അവന് വാങ്ങി അവര് കാണ്കെ തിന്നു.

43. and, taking it before them, he did eat.

44. പിന്നെ അവന് അവരോടുഇതാകുന്നു നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കു. മോശെയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിലും പ്രവാചകപുസ്തകങ്ങളിലും സങ്കീര്ത്തനങ്ങളിലും എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും നിവൃത്തിയാകേണം എന്നുള്ളതു തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെ തിരിച്ചറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ ബുദ്ധിയെ തുറന്നു.

44. And he said unto them These, are my words, which I spake unto you yet being with you: That all the things that are written in the law of Moses and the Prophets and Psalms, concerning me, must needs be fulfilled.

45. ക്രിസ്തു കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിക്കയും മൂന്നാം നാള് മരിച്ചവരില് നിന്നു ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കയും അവന്റെ നാമത്തില് മാനസാന്തരവും പാപമോചനവും യെരൂശലേമില് തുടങ്ങി സകലജാതികളിലും പ്രസംഗിക്കയും വേണം എന്നിങ്ങനെ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

45. Then, opened he their mind, to understand the Scriptures;

46. ഇതിന്നു നിങ്ങള് സാക്ഷികള് ആകുന്നു.
യെശയ്യാ 53:5, ഹോശേയ 6:2

46. and said unto them Thus, it is written, That the Christ, should suffer, and arise from among the dead on the third day;

47. എന്റെ പിതാവു വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്തതിനെ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ മേല് അയക്കും. നിങ്ങളോ ഉയരത്തില്നിന്നു ശക്തി ധരിക്കുവോളം നഗരത്തില് പാര്പ്പിന് എന്നും അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

47. And that repentance for remission of sins should be proclaimed upon his name unto all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

48. അനന്തരം അവന് അവരെ ബേഥാന്യയോളം കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി കൈ ഉയര്ത്തി അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

48. Ye, are witnesses of these things.

49. അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കയില് അവന് അവരെ വിട്ടു പിരിഞ്ഞു (സ്വര്ഗ്ഗാരോഹണം ചെയ്തു).

49. And lo! I, am sending forth the promise of my Father upon you; but tarry, ye, in the city, until ye be clothed, from on high, with power.

50. അവര് (അവനെ നമസ്ക്കുരിച്ചു) മഹാസന്തോഷത്തോടെ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു എല്ലായ്പോഴും ദൈവലായത്തില് ഇരുന്നു ദൈവത്തെ വാഴ്ത്തിപ്പോന്നു.

50. And he led them forth as far as unto Bethany; and, uplifting his hands, he blessed them.
