1. യേശു മരിച്ചവരില് നിന്നു ഉയിര്പ്പിച്ച ലാസര് പാര്ത്ത ബേഥാന്യയിലേക്കു യേശു പെസഹെക്കു ആറുദിവസം മുമ്പെ വന്നു.

1. Jesus, therefore, six days before the passover, came unto Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from among the dead.

2. അവിടെ അവര് അവന്നു ഒരു അത്താഴം ഒരുക്കി; മാര്ത്ത ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്തു, ലാസരോ അവനോടുകൂടെ പന്തിയില് ഇരുന്നവരില് ഒരുവന് ആയിരുന്നു.

2. So they made for him a supper, there; and, Martha, was ministering, but, Lazarus, was one of them who were reclining with him.

3. അപ്പോള് മറിയ വിലയേറിയ സ്വച്ഛജടാമാംസിതൈലം ഒരു റാത്തല് എടുത്തു യേശുവിന്റെ കാലില് പൂശി തന്റെ തലമുടികൊണ്ടു കാല് തുവര്ത്തി; തൈലത്തിന്റെ സൌരഭ്യം കൊണ്ടു വീടു നിറഞ്ഞു.

3. Mary, therefore, taking a pound of pure nard perfume, very precious, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped, with her hair, his feet; and, the house, was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

4. But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples, he that was about to deliver him up, saith

5. ഈ തൈലം മുന്നൂറു വെള്ളിക്കാശിന്നു വിറ്റു ദിരിദ്രന്മാര്ക്കും കൊടുക്കാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

5. Why was, this perfume, not sold for three hundred denaries, and given unto the destitute?

6. ഇതു ദരിദ്രന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചു വിചാരം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടല്ല, അവന് കള്ളന് ആകകൊണ്ടും പണസ്സഞ്ചി തന്റെ പക്കല് ആകയാല് അതില് ഇട്ടതു എടുത്തുവന്നതുകൊണ്ടും അത്രേ പറഞ്ഞതു.

6. Howbeit he said this, not that, for the destitute, he cared, but because, a thief, he was, and holding, the bag, used to carry away, what was cast therein.

7. യേശുവോഅവളെ വിടുക; എന്റെ ശവസംസ്കാരദിവസത്തിന്നായി അവള് ഇതു സൂക്ഷിച്ചു എന്നിരിക്കട്ടെ.

7. Jesus, therefore, said Let her alone, that, for the day of my burial, she may observe it;

8. ദരിദ്രന്മാര് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എല്ലായ്പോഴും അടുക്കെ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; ഞാന് എല്ലായ്പോഴും അടുക്കെ ഇല്ലതാനും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

8. For, the destitute, always, have ye with you, whereas, me, not always, have ye.

9. The great multitude of the Jews, therefore, got to know that he was, there, and came, not on account of Jesus only, but that, Lazarus also, they might see, whom he had raised from among the dead.

10. But the High-priests took counsel, that Lazarus also, they might put to death;

11. യേശുവില് വിശ്വസിക്കയാല് ലാസരെയും കൊല്ലേണം എന്നു മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാര് ആലോചിച്ചു.

11. because, many of the Jews, by reason of him, were withdrawing, and believing on Jesus.

12. പിറ്റേന്നു പെരുന്നാള്ക്കു വന്നോരു വലിയ പുരുഷാരം യേശു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു വരുന്നു എന്നു കേട്ടിട്ടു

12. On the morrow, the great multitude that had come unto the feast, hearing that Jesus was coming into Jerusalem,

13. ഈത്തപ്പനയുടെ കുരുത്തോല എടുത്തുംകൊണ്ടു അവനെ എതിരേല്പാന് ചെന്നുഹോശന്നാ, യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജാവായി കര്ത്താവിന്റെ നാമത്തില് വരുന്നവന് വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവന് എന്നു ആര്ത്തു.

13. took the branches of the palm trees, and went out to meet him, and began crying aloud Hosanna! Blessed is he that is coming in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!

14. And Jesus, finding a young ass, took his seat thereon, just as it is written

15. Do not fear, O daughter of Zion! Lo! thy king, cometh, sitting upon the colt of an ass.

16. ഇതു അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് ആദിയില് ഗ്രഹിച്ചില്ല; യേശുവിന്നു തേജസ്കരണം വന്നശേഷം അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഇങ്ങനെ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നും തങ്ങള് അവന്നു ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു എന്നും അവര്ക്കും ഔര്മ്മ വന്നു.

16. These things, his disciples noticed not, at the first; but, when Jesus was glorified, then, remembered they that, these things, had, for him, been written, and that, these things, they had done unto him.

17. അവന് ലാസരെ കല്ലറയില് നിന്നു വിളിച്ചു മരിച്ചവരില് നിന്നു എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചപ്പോള് അവനോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന പുരുഷാരം സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞു.

17. The multitude, therefore, that was with him when he called, Lazarus, out of the tomb, and raised him from among the dead, was bearing witness.

18. അവന് ഈ അടയാളം ചെയ്തപ്രകാരം പുരുഷാരം കേട്ടിട്ടു അവനെ എതിരേറ്റുചെന്നു.

18. On this account, the multitude met him also, because they heard that he had done, this sign.

19. ആകയാല് പരീശന്മാര് തമ്മില് തമ്മില്നമുക്കു ഒന്നും സാധിക്കുന്നില്ലല്ലോ; ലോകം അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ആയിപ്പോയി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. the Pharisees, therefore, said among themselves Ye observe that ye are profiting nothing: See! the world, after him, hath gone away.

20. പെരുനാളില് നമസ്കരിപ്പാന് വന്നവരില് ചില യവനന്മാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

20. Now there were certain Greeks, from among them who were coming up that they might worship in the feast.

21. ഇവര് ഗലീലയിലെ ബേത്ത് സയിദക്കാരനായ ഫിലിപ്പൊസിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു അവനോടുയജമാനനേ, ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു യേശുവിനെ കാണ്മാന് താല്പര്യമുണ്ടു എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

21. These, therefore, came unto Philip, him who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and were requesting him, saying Sir! We desire to see, Jesus.

22. ഫിലിപ്പൊസ് ചെന്നു അന്ത്രെയാസിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു. അന്ത്രെയാസും ഫിലിപ്പൊസും കൂടെ ചെന്നു യേശുവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

22. Philip cometh, and telleth Andrew: Andrew and Philip come, and tell Jesus.

23. യേശു അവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതുമനുഷ്യപുത്രന് തേജസ്കരിക്കപ്പെടുവാനുള്ള നാഴിക വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

23. But, Jesus, answereth them, saying The hour hath come, that the Son of Man should be glorified!

24. ആമേന് , ആമേന് , ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നുകോതമ്പുമണി നിലത്തു വീണു ചാകുന്നില്ല എങ്കില് അതു തനിയേ ഇരിക്കും; ചത്തു എങ്കിലോ വളരെ വിളവുണ്ടാകും.

24. Verily! Verily, I say unto you: Except, the kernel of wheat, shall fall into the ground, and die, it, alone, abideth; but, if it die, much fruit, it beareth.

25. തന്റെ ജീവനെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവന് അതിനെ കളയും; ഇഹലോകത്തില് തന്റെ ജീവനെ പകെക്കുന്നവന് അതിനെ നിത്യജീവന്നായി സൂക്ഷിക്കും.

25. He that loveth his life, loseth it; but, he that hateth his life, in this world, unto life age-abiding, shall guard it.

26. എനിക്കു ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്യുന്നവന് എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കട്ടെ; ഞാന് ഇരിക്കുന്നേടത്തു എന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരനും ഇരിക്കും; എനിക്കു ശുശ്രൂഷചെയ്യുന്നവനെ പിതാവു മാനിക്കും.

26. If, with me, anyone be ministering, with me, let him be following; and, where, I, am, there, my minister also, shall be. If anyone, with me, be ministering, the Father, will honour him.

27. ഇപ്പോള് എന്റെ ഉള്ളം കലങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് എന്തു പറയേണ്ടു? പിതാവേ, ഈ നാഴികയില്നിന്നു എന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ; എങ്കിലും ഇതു നിമിത്തം ഞാന് ഈ നാഴികയിലേക്കു വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

27. Now, is my soul troubled, and what can I say? Father! save me from this hour? But, on this account, came I unto this hour. Father, glorify thy name!

28. പിതാവേ, നിന്റെ നാമത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തേണമേ. അപ്പോള് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നു; ഞാന് മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇനിയും മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തും എന്നൊരു ശബ്ദം ഉണ്ടായി

28. There came, therefore, a voice out of heaven I both have glorified it, and will glorify it again.

29. അതുകേട്ടിട്ടു അരികെ നിലക്കുന്ന പുരുഷാരംഇടി ഉണ്ടായി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; മറ്റു ചിലര് ഒരു ദൈവദൂതന് അവനോടു സംസാരിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. So , the multitude that was standing by, and heard it, were saying It hath, thundered. Others, were saying A messenger, unto him, hath spoken.

30. അതിന്നു യേശുഈ ശബ്ദം എന്റെ നിമിത്തമല്ല, നിങ്ങളുടെ നിമിത്തം അത്രേ ഉണ്ടായതു.

30. Jesus answered, and said Not for my sake, hath this voice come, but, for your sake.

31. ഇപ്പോള് ഈ ലോകത്തിന്റെ ന്യായവിധി ആകുന്നു; ഇപ്പോള് ഈ ലോകത്തിന്റെ പ്രഭുവിനെ പുറത്തു തള്ളിക്കളയും.

31. Now, is there, a judging, of this world, Now, the ruler of this world, shall be cast out;

32. ഞാനോ ഭൂമിയില് നിന്നു ഉയര്ത്തപ്പെട്ടാല് എല്ലാവരെയും എങ്കലേക്കു ആകര്ഷിക്കും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

32. And, I, if I be lifted up out of the earth, will draw, all, unto myself.

33. ഇതു താന് മരിപ്പാനുള്ള മരണവിധം സൂചിപ്പിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതത്രേ.

33. But, this, he was saying, signifying, by what manner of death, he was about to die.

34. പുരുഷാരം അവനോടുക്രിസ്തു എന്നേക്കും ഇരിക്കും എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തില് വായിച്ചുകേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; പിന്നെ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് ഉയര്ത്തപ്പെടേണ്ടതെന്നു നീ പറയുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ? ഈ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് ആര് എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

34. The multitude, therefore, answered him We, have heard, out of the law, that, the Christ, abideth evermore; How then dost, thou, say, It behoveth the Son of Man to be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?

35. അതിന്നു യേശു അവരോടുഇനി കുറെകാലം മാത്രം വെളിച്ചം നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് ഇരിക്കും; ഇരുള് നിങ്ങളെ പിടിക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വെളിച്ചം ഉള്ളേടത്തോളം നടന്നുകൊള്വിന് . ഇരുളില് നടക്കുന്നവന് താന് എവിടെ പോകുന്നു എന്നു അറിയുന്നില്ലല്ലോ.

35. Jesus, therefore, said unto them Yet a little while, the light, is, among you: Walk, while ye have, the light, lest, darkness, on you should lay hold; and, he that walketh in darkness, knoweth not whither he drifteth.

36. നിങ്ങള് വെളിച്ചത്തിന്റെ മക്കള് ആകേണ്ടതിന്നു വെളിച്ചം ഉള്ളടത്തോളം വെളിച്ചത്തില് വിശ്വസിപ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

36. While, the light, ye have, believe on the light, that, sons of light, ye may become. These things, spake Jesus, and, departing, was hid from them.

37. ഇതു സംസാരിച്ചിട്ടു യേശു വാങ്ങിപ്പോയി അവരെ വിട്ടു മറഞ്ഞു. അവര് കാണ്കെ അവന് ഇത്ര വളരെ അടയാളങ്ങളെ ചെയ്തിട്ടും അവര് അവനില് വിശ്വസിച്ചില്ല.

37. And, although such signs, as these, he had done before them, they were not believing on him:

38. “കര്ത്താവേ, ഞങ്ങള് കേള്പ്പിച്ചതു ആര് വിശ്വസിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു? കര്ത്താവിന്റെ ഭുജം ആര്ക്കും വെളിപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു?” എന്നു യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന് പറഞ്ഞ വചനം നിവൃത്തിയാവാന് ഇടവന്നു.

38. that, the word of Isaiah the prophet, might be fulfilled, which said Lord! who believed, what we have heard? And, the arm of the Lord, to whom, was it revealed?

39. അവര്ക്കും വിശ്വസിപ്പാന് കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല; അതിന്റെ കാരണം യെശയ്യാവു വേറെ ഒരേടത്തു പറയുന്നതു

39. On this account, they could not believe, because, again, said Isaiah

40. അവര് കണ്ണുകൊണ്ടു കാണുകയോ ഹൃദയംകൊണ്ടു ഗ്രഹിക്കയോ മനം തിരികയോ താന് അവരെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ കണ്ണു അവന് കുരുടാക്കി ഹൃദയം തടിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു”

40. He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; lest they should see with their eyes, and should understand with their heart, and should turn, and I should heal them.

41. യെശയ്യാവു അവന്റെ തേജസ്സു കണ്ടു അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു സംസാരിച്ചതു കൊണ്ടാകുന്നു ഇതു പറഞ്ഞതു.ര് ആകാതിരിപ്പാന് പരീശന്മാര് നിമിത്തം ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞില്ലതാനും.ഹിച്ചു.

41. These things, said Isaiah, because he saw his glory, and spake concerning him.

42. യേശു വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതുഎന്നില് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന് എന്നിലല്ല എന്നെ അയച്ചവനില് തന്നേ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.

42. Nevertheless, however, even from among the rulers, many believed on him; but, because of the Pharisees, they were not confessing him, lest, excommunicants from the synagogue, they should be made;

43. എന്നെ കാണുന്നവന് എന്നെ അയച്ചവനെ കാണുന്നു.

43. for they loved the glory of men, more than the glory of God.

44. എന്നില് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന് ആരും ഇരുളില് വസിക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് ഞാന് വെളിച്ചമായി ലോകത്തില് വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

44. And, Jesus, cried aloud, and said He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me;

45. എന്റെ വചനം കേട്ടു പ്രമാണിക്കാത്തവനെ ഞാന് വിധിക്കുന്നില്ല; ലോകത്തെ വിധിപ്പാനല്ല, ലോകത്തെ രക്ഷിപ്പാനത്രേ ഞാന് വന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു.

45. And, he that vieweth me, vieweth him that sent me.

46. എന്റെ വചനം കൈക്കൊള്ളാതെ എന്നെ തള്ളിക്കളയുന്നവനെ ന്യായം വിധിക്കുന്നവന് ഉണ്ടു; ഞാന് സംസാരിച്ച വചനം തന്നേ ഒടുക്കത്തെ നാളില് അവനെ ന്യായം വിധിക്കും.

46. I, a light, into the world have come, that, no one who believeth on me, in darkness, should abide.

47. ഞാന് സ്വയമായി സംസാരിച്ചിട്ടില്ല; എന്നെ അയച്ച പിതാവു തന്നേ ഞാന് ഇന്നതു പറയേണം എന്നും ഇന്നതു സംസാരിക്കേണം എന്നും കല്പന തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

47. And, if anyone shall hearken unto my sayings, and not guard them, I, am not judging him; for I came not that I might judge the world, but that I might save the world.

48. അവന്റെ കല്പന നിത്യജീവന് എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു; ആകയാല് ഞാന് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു പിതാവു എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ തന്നേ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു.

48. He that setteth me aside, and receiveth not my sayings, hath that which is to judge him: The word that I spake, that, will judge him, in the last day.
