1. മൂന്നാം നാള് ഗലീലയിലെ കാനാവില് ഒരു കല്യാണം ഉണ്ടായി; യേശുവിന്റെ അമ്മ അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

1. And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there.

2. യേശുവിനെയും ശിഷ്യന്മാരെയും കല്യാണത്തിന്നു ക്ഷണിച്ചിരുന്നു.

2. And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.

3. വീഞ്ഞു പോരാതെവരികയാല് യേശുവിന്റെ അമ്മ അവനോടുഅവര്ക്കും വീഞ്ഞു ഇല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

3. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith to him, They have no wine.

4. യേശു അവളോടുസ്ത്രീയേ, എനിക്കും നിനക്കും തമ്മില് എന്തു? എന്റെ നാഴിക ഇതുവരെ വന്നിട്ടില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

4. Jesus saith to her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? my hour is not yet come.

5. അവന്റെ അമ്മ ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരോടുഅവന് നിങ്ങളോടു എന്തെങ്കിലും കല്പിച്ചാല് അതു ചെയ്വിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

5. His mother saith to the servants, Whatever he saith to you, do {it}.

6. അവിടെ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ശുദ്ധീകരണനിയമം അനുസരിച്ചു രണ്ടോ മൂന്നോ പറവീതം കൊള്ളുന്ന ആറു കല്പാത്രം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

6. And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.

7. യേശു അവരോടു ഈ കല്പാത്രങ്ങളില് വെള്ളം നിറെപ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവര് വക്കൊളവും നിറെച്ചു.

7. Jesus saith to them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them to the brim.

8. ഇപ്പോള് കോരിവിരുന്നുവാഴിക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി കൊടുപ്പിന് എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു; അവര് കൊണ്ടുപോയി കൊടുത്തു.

8. And he saith to them, Draw out now, and bear to the governor of the feast. And they bore {it}.

9. അതു എവിടെനിന്നു എന്നു വെള്ളം കോരിയ ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരല്ലാതെ വിരുന്നുവാഴി അറിഞ്ഞില്ല. വീഞ്ഞായിത്തീര്ന്ന വെള്ളം വിരുന്നുവാഴി രുചിനോക്കിയാറെ മണവാളനെ വിളിച്ചു

9. When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was; (but the servants who drew the water knew) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,

10. എല്ലാവരും ആദ്യം നല്ല വീഞ്ഞും ലഹരി പിടിച്ചശേഷം ഇളപ്പമായതും കൊടുക്കുമാറുണ്ടു; നീ നല്ല വീഞ്ഞു ഇതുവരെയും സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവെച്ചുവല്ലോ എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

10. And saith to him, Every man at the beginning presenteth good wine; and when men have well drank, then that which is worse: {but} thou hast kept the good wine until now.

11. യേശു ഇതിനെ അടയാളങ്ങളുടെ ആരംഭമായി ഗലീലയിലെ കാനാവില് വെച്ചു ചെയ്തു തന്റെ മഹത്വം വെളിപ്പെടുത്തി; അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അവനില് വിശ്വസിച്ചു.

11. This beginning of miracles Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

12. അനന്തരം അവനും അവന്റെ അമ്മയും സഹോദരന്മാരും ശിഷ്യന്മാരും കഫര്ന്നഹൂമിലേക്കു പോയി; അവിടെ ഏറനാള് പാര്ത്തില്ല.

12. After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples; and they continued there not many days.

13. യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ പെസഹ സമീപം ആകകൊണ്ടു യേശു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു പോയി.

13. And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,

14. ദൈവാലയത്തില് കാള, ആടു, പ്രാവു, എന്നിവയെ വിലക്കുന്നവരെയും അവിടെ ഇരിക്കുന്ന പൊന് വാണിഭക്കാരെയും കണ്ടിട്ടു കയറുകൊണ്ടു ഒരു ചമ്മട്ടി ഉണ്ടാക്കി ആടുമാടുകളോടും കൂടെ എല്ലാവരെയും ദൈവാലയത്തില് നിന്നു പുറത്താക്കി. പൊന് വാണിഭക്കാരുടെ നാണ്യം തൂകിക്കളഞ്ഞു മേശകളെ മറിച്ചിട്ടു;

14. And found in the temple those that sold oxen, and sheep, and doves, and the changers of money, sitting:

15. പ്രാവുകളെ വിലക്കുന്നവരോടുഇതു ഇവിടെനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുപോകുവിന് ; എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ആലയത്തെ വാണിഭശാല ആക്കരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;

16. അപ്പോള് അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര്നിന്റെ ആലയത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള എരിവു എന്നെ തിന്നുകളയുന്നു എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതു ഔര്ത്തു.

16. And said to them that sold doves, Take these things hence: make not my Father's house a house of merchandise.

17. എന്നാല് യെഹൂദന്മാര് അവനോടുനിനക്കു ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യാം എന്നതിന്നു നീ എന്തു അടയാളം കാണിച്ചു തരും എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

17. And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thy house hath eaten me up.

18. യേശു അവരോടുഈ മന്ദിരം പൊളിപ്പിന് ; ഞാന് മൂന്നു ദിവസത്തിന്നകം അതിനെ പണിയും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

18. Then answered the Jews, and said to him, What sign showest thou to us, seeing that thou doest these things?

19. യെഹൂദന്മാര് അവനോടുഈ മന്ദിരം നാല്പത്താറു സംവത്സരം കൊണ്ടു പണിതിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ മൂന്നു ദിവസത്തിനകം അതിനെ പണിയുമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

19. Jesus answered and said to them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

20. അവനോ തന്റെ ശരീരം എന്ന മന്ദിരത്തെക്കുറിച്ചത്രേ പറഞ്ഞതു.

20. Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?

21. അവന് ഇതു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു അവന് മരിച്ചവരില് നിന്നു ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റ ശേഷം ശിഷ്യന്മാര് ഔര്ത്തു തിരുവെഴുത്തും യേശു പറഞ്ഞ വചനവും വിശ്വസിച്ചു.

21. But he spoke of the temple of his body.

22. പെസഹപെരുന്നാളില് യെരൂശലേമില് ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന് ചെയ്ത അടയാളങ്ങള് കണ്ടിട്ടു പലരും അവന്റെ നാമത്തില് വിശ്വസിച്ചു.

22. When therefore he had risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this to them: and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had spoken.

23. യേശുവോ എല്ലാവരെയും അറികകൊണ്ടു തന്നെത്താന് അവരുടെ പക്കല് വിശ്വസിച്ചേല്പിച്ചില്ല.

23. Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast {day}, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he performed.

24. മനുഷ്യനിലുള്ളതു എന്തു എന്നു സ്വതവെ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കയാല് തനിക്കു മനുഷ്യനെക്കുറിച്ചു യാതൊരുത്തന്റെയും സാക്ഷ്യം ആവശ്യമായിരുന്നില്ല.

24. But Jesus did not commit himself to them, because he knew all {men}.
