1. ജാതികളും ദൈവവചനം കൈകൊണ്ടു എന്നു അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരും യെഹൂദ്യയിലുള്ള സഹോദരന്മാരും കേട്ടു.

1. The apostles and the believers all through Judea heard that people who were not Jews had also received God's word.

2. പത്രൊസ് യെരൂശലേമില് എത്തിയപ്പോള് പരിച്ഛേദനക്കാര് അവനോടു വാദിച്ചു

2. Peter went up to Jerusalem. There the Jewish believers found fault with him.

3. നീ അഗ്രചര്മ്മികളുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു അവരോടുകൂടെ ഭക്ഷിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

3. They said, 'You went into the house of those who aren't Jews. You ate with them.'

4. പത്രൊസ് കാര്യം ആദിമുതല് ക്രമമായി അവരോടു വിവരിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞതു

4. Peter explained everything to them. He told them exactly what had happened.

5. ഞാന് യോപ്പാപട്ടണത്തില് പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് വിവശതയില് ഒരുദര്ശനം കണ്ടുആകാശത്തില്നിന്നു നാലു കോണും കെട്ടി ഇറക്കിയ വലിയ തുപ്പട്ടിപോലെ ഒരു പാത്രം എന്റെ അടുക്കലോളം വന്നു.

5. 'I was in the city of Joppa praying,' he said. 'There I had a vision. I saw something that looked like a large sheet. It was being let down from heaven by its four corners. It came down to where I was.

6. അതില് ഞാന് സൂക്ഷിച്ചുനോക്കിയപ്പോള് ഭൂമിയിലെ നാല്ക്കാലികളെയും കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളെയും ഇഴജാതികളെയും ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവകളെയും കണ്ടു

6. I looked into it and saw four-footed animals of the earth. There were also wild animals, reptiles and birds.

7. പത്രൊസേ, എഴുന്നേറ്റു അറുത്തു തിന്നുക എന്നു എന്നോടു പറയുന്നോരു ശബ്ദവും കേട്ടു.

7. Then I heard a voice speaking to me. 'Get up, Peter,' the voice said. 'Kill and eat.'

8. അതിന്നു ഞാന് ഒരിക്കലും പാടില്ല, കര്ത്താവേ; മലിനമോ അശുദ്ധമോ ആയതൊന്നും ഒരിക്കലും എന്റെ വായില് ചെന്നിട്ടില്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

8. 'I replied, 'No, Lord! I will not! Nothing that is not pure and 'clean' has ever entered my mouth.'

9. ആ ശബ്ദം പിന്നെയും ആകാശത്തില് നിന്നുദൈവം ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചതു നീ മലിനം എന്നു വിചാരിക്കരുതു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

9. 'A second time the voice spoke from heaven. 'Do not say anything is not pure that God has made 'clean,' ' the voice said.

10. ഇതു മൂന്നു പ്രാവശ്യം ഉണ്ടായി; പിന്നെ എല്ലാം തിരികെ ആകാശത്തിലേക്കു വലിച്ചെടുത്തു.

10. This happened three times. Then the sheet was pulled up into heaven.

11. അപ്പോള് തന്നേ കൈസര്യയില് നിന്നു എന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചിരുന്ന മൂന്നു പുരുഷന്മാര് ഞങ്ങള് പാര്ത്ത വീട്ടിന്റെ മുമ്പില് നിന്നിരുന്നു;

11. 'Just then three men stopped at the house where I was staying. They had been sent to me from Caesarea.

12. ഒന്നും സംശയിക്കാതെ അവരോടുകൂടെ പോകുവാന് ആത്മാവു എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചു. ഈ ആറു സഹോദരന്മാരും എന്നോടുകൂടെ പോന്നു; ഞങ്ങള് ആ പുരുഷന്റെ വീട്ടില് ചെന്നു.

12. The Holy Spirit told me not to let anything keep me from going with them. These six brothers here went with me. We entered the man's house.

13. അവന് തന്റെ വീട്ടില് ഒരു ദൂതന് നിലക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു എന്നും നീ യോപ്പയിലേക്കു ആളയച്ചു പത്രൊസ് എന്നു മറുപേരുള്ള ശിമോനെ വരുത്തുക;

13. He told us how he had seen an angel appear in his house. The angel said, 'Send to Joppa for Simon Peter.

14. നീയും നിന്റെ ഗൃഹം മുഴുവനും രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവാനുള്ള വാക്കുകളെ അവന് നിന്നോടു സംസാരിക്കും എന്നു ദൂതന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നും ഞങ്ങളോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

14. He has a message to bring to you. You and your whole family will be saved through it.'

15. ഞാന് സംസാരിച്ചു തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോഴേക്കു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു ആദിയില് നമ്മുടെമേല് എന്നപോലെ അവരുടെ മേലും വന്നു.

15. 'As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on them. He came just as he had come on us at the beginning.

16. അപ്പോള് ഞാന് യോഹന്നാന് വെള്ളംകൊണ്ടു സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചു; നിങ്ങള്ക്കോ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവുകൊണ്ടു സ്നാനം ലഭിക്കും എന്നു കര്ത്താവു പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കു ഔര്ത്തു.

16. Then I remembered the Lord's words. 'John baptized with water,' he had said. 'But you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.'

17. ആകയാല് കര്ത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവില് വിശ്വസിച്ചവരായ നമുക്കു തന്നതുപോലെ അതേ ദാനത്തെ അവര്ക്കും ദൈവം കൊടുത്തു എങ്കില് ദൈവത്തെ തടുപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാന് ആര്?

17. God gave them the same gift he gave those of us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ. So who was I to think that I could oppose God?'

18. അവര് ഇതു കേട്ടപ്പോള് മിണ്ടാതിരുന്നുഅങ്ങനെ ആയാല് ദൈവം ജാതികള്ക്കും ജീവപ്രാപ്തിക്കായി മാനസാന്തരം നല്കിയല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തി.

18. When they heard this, they didn't object anymore. They praised God. They said, 'So then, God has allowed even those who aren't Jews to turn away from their sins and live.'

19. സ്തെഫാനൊസ് നിമിത്തം ഉണ്ടായ ഉപദ്രവം ഹേതുവാല് ചിതറിപ്പോയവര് യെഹൂദന്മാരോടല്ലാതെ മറ്റാരോടും വചനം സംസാരിക്കാതെ ഫൊയ്നിക്യാ, കുപ്രൊസ്, അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യ എന്നീ പ്രദേശങ്ങളോളം സഞ്ചരിച്ചു.

19. Some believers had been scattered by the suffering that came to them after Stephen's death. They traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus and Antioch. But they told the message only to Jews.

20. അവരില് ചിലര് കുപ്രൊസ്കാരും കുറേനക്കാരും ആയിരുന്നു; അവര് അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയില്എത്തിയശേഷം യവനന്മാരോടും കര്ത്താവായ യേശുവിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള സുവിശേഷം അറിയിച്ചു.

20. Some believers from Cyprus and Cyrene went to Antioch. There they began to speak to Greeks also. They told them the good news about the Lord Jesus.

21. കര്ത്താവിന്റെ കൈ അവരോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; വലിയൊരു കൂട്ടം വിശ്വസിച്ചു കര്ത്താവിങ്കലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു.

21. The Lord's power was with them. Large numbers of people believed and turned to the Lord.

22. അവരെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ഈ വര്ത്തമാനം യെരൂശലേമിലെ സഭയുടെ ചെവിയില് എത്തിയപ്പോള് അവര് ബര്ന്നബാസിനെ അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയോളം പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു.

22. The church in Jerusalem heard about this. So they sent Barnabas to Antioch.

23. അവന് ചെന്നു ദൈവകൃപ കണ്ടു സന്തോഷിച്ചു. എല്ലാവരും ഹൃദയനിര്ണ്ണയത്തോടെ കര്ത്താവിനോടു ചേര്ന്നുനില്പാന്തക്കവണ്ണം പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

23. When he arrived and saw what the grace of God had done, he was glad. He told them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts.

24. അവന് നല്ല മനുഷ്യനും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനാലും വിശ്വാസത്താലും നിറഞ്ഞവനും ആയിരുന്നു; വളരെ പുരുഷന്മാരും കര്ത്താവിനോടു ചേര്ന്നു.

24. Barnabas was a good man. He was full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. Large numbers of people came to know the Lord.

25. അവന് ശൌലിനെ തിരവാന് തര്സൊസിലേക്കു പോയി, അവനെ കണ്ടെത്തിയാറെ അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയിലേക്കു കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

25. Then Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul.

26. അവര് ഒരു സംവത്സരം മുഴുവനും സഭായോഗങ്ങളില് കൂടുകയും ബഹുജനത്തെ ഉപദേശിക്കയും ചെയ്തു; ആദ്യം അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയില്വെച്ചു ശിഷ്യന്മാര്ക്കും ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികള് എന്നു പേര് ഉണ്ടായി.

26. He found him there. Then he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church. They taught large numbers of people. At Antioch the believers were called Christians for the first time.

27. ആ കാലത്തു യെരൂശലേമില് നിന്നു പ്രവാചകന്മാര് അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയിലേക്കു വന്നു.

27. In those days some prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.

28. അവരില് അഗബൊസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ളൊരുവന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു ലോകത്തില് ഒക്കെയും മഹാക്ഷാമം ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു ആത്മാവിനാല് പ്രവചിച്ചു; അതു ക്ളൌദ്യൊസിന്റെ കാലത്തു സംഭവിച്ചു.

28. One of them was named Agabus. He stood up and spoke through the Spirit. He said there would not be nearly enough food anywhere in the Roman world. This happened while Claudius was the emperor.

29. അപ്പോള് യെഹൂദ്യയില് പാര്ക്കുംന്ന സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഉതവിക്കായി ശിഷ്യന്മാരില് ഔരോരുത്തന് പ്രാപ്തിപോലെ കൊടുത്തയപ്പാന് നിശ്ചയിച്ചു.

29. The believers decided to provide help for the brothers and sisters living in Judea. All of them helped as much as they could.

30. അവര് അതു നടത്തി, ബര്ന്നബാസിന്റെയും ശൌലിന്റെയും കയ്യില് മൂപ്പന്മാര്ക്കും കൊടുത്തയച്ചു.

30. They sent their gift to the elders through Barnabas and Saul.
