1. യെഹൂദ്യയില്നിന്നു ചിലര് വന്നുനിങ്ങള് മോശെ കല്പിച്ച ആചാരം അനുസരിച്ചു പരിച്ഛേദന ഏല്ക്കാഞ്ഞാല് രക്ഷ പ്രാപിപ്പാന് കഴികയില്ല എന്നു സഹോദരന്മാരെ ഉപദേശിച്ചു.
ലേവ്യപുസ്തകം 12:3

1. And summe camen doun fro Judee, and tauyten britheren, That but ye ben circumcidid after the lawe of Moises, ye moun not be maad saaf.

2. പൌലൊസിന്നും ബര്ന്നബാസിന്നും അവരോടു അല്പമല്ലാത്ത വാദവും തര്ക്കവും ഉണ്ടായിട്ടു പൌലൊസും ബര്ന്നബാസും അവരില് മറ്റു ചിലരും ഈ തര്ക്കസംഗതിയെപ്പറ്റി യെരൂശലേമില് അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരുടെയും മൂപ്പന്മാരുടെയും അടുക്കല് പോകേണം എന്നു നിശ്ചയിച്ചു.

2. Therfor whanne ther was maad not a litil discencioun to Poul and Barnabas ayens hem, thei ordeyneden, that Poul and Barnabas, and summe othere of hem, schulden go vp to the apostlis and preestis in Jerusalem, on this questioun.

3. സഭ അവരെ യാത്ര അയച്ചിട്ടു അവര് ഫൊയ്നീക്ക്യയിലും ശമര്യയിലും കൂടി കടന്നു ജാതികളുടെ മാനസാന്തരവിവരം അറിയിച്ചു സഹോദരന്മാര്ക്കും മഹാസന്തോഷം വരുത്തി.

3. And so thei weren led forth of the chirche, and passiden bi Fenyce and Samarie; and thei telden the conuersacioun of hethene men, and thei maden greet ioie to alle the britheren.

4. അവര് യെരൂശലേമില് എത്തിയാറെ സഭയും അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും അവരെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടു; ദൈവം തങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നു ചെയ്തതൊക്കയും അവര് അറിയിച്ചു.

4. And whanne thei camen to Jerusalem, thei weren resseyued of the chirche and of the apostlis, and of the eldre men, and telden, hou greet thingis God dide with hem.

5. എന്നാല് പരീശപക്ഷത്തില്നിന്നു വിശ്വസിച്ചവര് ചിലര് എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവരെ പരിച്ഛേദന കഴിപ്പിക്കയും മോശെയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം ആചരിപ്പാന് കല്പിക്കയും വേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

5. But summe of the erise of Fariseis, that bileueden, risen vp, and seiden, That it bihoueth hem to be circumsidid, and to comaunde to kepe also the lawe of Moises.

6. ഈ സംഗതിയെക്കുറിച്ചു വിചാരിപ്പാന് അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും വന്നു കൂടി. വളരെ തര്ക്കം ഉണ്ടയശേഷം പത്രൊസ് എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു

6. And the apostlis and eldre men camen togidre, to se of `this word.

7. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, കുറെ നാള് മുമ്പെ ദൈവം നിങ്ങളില് വെച്ചു ഞാന് മുഖാന്തരം ജാതികള് സുവിശേഷവചനം കേട്ടു വിശ്വസിക്കേണം എന്നു നിശ്ചയിച്ചതു നിങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നു വല്ലോ.

7. And whanne there was maad a greet sekyng herof, Petre roos, and seide to hem, Britheren, ye witen, that of elde daies in you God chees bi my mouth hethene, to here the word of the gospel, and to bileue;

8. ഹൃദയങ്ങളെ അറിയുന്ന ദൈവം നമുക്കു തന്നതുപോലെ അവര്ക്കും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനെ കൊടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു സാക്ഷിനിന്നു വിശ്വാസത്താല്

8. and God, that knewe hertis, bar witnessing, and yaf to hem the Hooli Goost, as also to vs;

9. അവരുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളെ ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചതിനാല് നമുക്കും അവര്ക്കും തമ്മില് ഒരു വ്യത്യാസവും വെച്ചിട്ടില്ല.

9. and no thing diuerside bitwixe vs and hem, `and clenside the hertis of hem bi feith.

10. ആകയാല് നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും നമുക്കും ചുമപ്പാന് കിഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലത്ത നുകം ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ കഴുത്തില് വെപ്പാന് നിങ്ങള് ഇപ്പോള് ദൈവത്തെ പരീക്ഷിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?

10. Now thanne what tempten ye God, to putte a yok on the necke of the disciplis, which nether we, nether oure fadris miyten bere?

11. കര്ത്താവയ യേശുവിന്റെ കൃപയാല് രക്ഷപ്രാപിക്കും എന്നു നാം വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നതു പോലെ അവരും വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു

11. But bi the grace of oure Lord Jhesu Crist we bileuen to be saued, as also thei.

12. ജനസമൂഹം എല്ലാം മിണ്ടാതെ ബര്ന്നബാസും പൌലൊസും ദൈവം തങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ടു ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില് ചെയ്യിച്ച അടയാളങ്ങളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും എല്ലാം വിവരിക്കുന്നതു കേട്ടുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

12. And al the multitude helde pees, and herden Barnaban and Poul, tellinge hou grete signes and wondris God dide bi hem in hethene men.

13. അവര് പറഞ്ഞു നിറുത്തിയശേഷം യാക്കോബ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു

13. And aftir that thei helden pees, James answeride, and seide, Britheren, here ye me.

14. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടു കൊള്വിന് ; ദൈവം തന്റെ നാമത്തിന്നായി ജാതികളില്നിന്നു ഒരു ജനത്തെ എടുത്തുകൊള്വാന് ആദ്യമായിട്ടു കടാക്ഷിച്ചതു ശിമോന് വിവരിച്ചുവല്ലോ.

14. Symount telde, hou God visitide, first to take of hethene men a puple to his name.

15. ഇതിനോടു പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ വാക്യങ്ങളും ഒക്കുന്നു.

15. And the wordis of prophetis acorden to him,

16. “അനന്തരം ഞാന് ദാവീദിന്റെ വീണുപോയ കൂടാരത്തെ വീണ്ടും പണിയും; അതിന്റെ ശൂന്യശിഷ്ടങ്ങളെ വീണ്ടും പണിതു അതിനെ നിവിര്ത്തും;

16. as it is writun, Aftir this Y schal turne ayen, and bilde the tabernacle of Dauid, that felle doun; and Y schal bilde ayen the cast doun thingis of it, and Y schal reise it;

17. മനുഷ്യരില് ശേഷിച്ചവരും എന്റെ നാമം വിളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന തദസകലജാതികളും കര്ത്താവിനെ അന്വേഷിക്കും എന്നു .

17. that other men seke the Lord, and alle folkis on which my name is clepid to helpe; the Lord doynge this thing, seith.

18. ഇതു പൂര്വകാലം മുതല് അറിയിക്കുന്ന കര്ത്താവു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

18. Fro the world, the werk of the Lord is knowun to the Lord.

19. ആകയാല് ജാതികളില്നിന്നു ദൈവത്തിങ്കലേക്കു തിരിയുന്നവരെ നാം അസഹ്യപ്പെടുത്താതെ

19. For which thing Y deme hem that of hethene men ben conuertid to God,

21. മോശെയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം ശബ്ബത്തുതോറും പള്ളികളില് വായിച്ചുവരുന്നതിനാല് പൂര്വകാലംമുതല് പട്ടണം തോറും അതു പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്നവര് ഉണ്ടല്ലോ.

21. For Moyses of elde tymes hath in alle citees hem that prechen him in synagogis, where bi ech sabat he is red.

22. അപ്പോള് തങ്ങളില് ചില പുരുഷന്മാരെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു പൌലൊസിനോടും ബര്ന്നബാസിനോടും കൂടെ അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയിലേക്കു അയക്കേണം എന്നു അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും സര്വസഭയും നിര്ണ്ണയിച്ചു, സഹോദരന്മാരില് പ്രമാണപ്പെട്ട പുരുഷന്മാരായ ബര്ശബാസ് എന്ന യൂദയെയും ശീലാസിനെയും നിയോഗിച്ചു.

22. Thanne it pleside to the apostlis, and to the eldre men, with al the chirche, to chees men of hem, and sende to Antioche, with Poul and Barnabas, Judas, that was named Barsabas, and Silas, the firste men among britheren;

23. അവരുടെ കൈവശം എഴുതി അയച്ചതെന്തെന്നാല്അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരായ സഹോദരന്മാരും അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയിലും സൂറിയയിലും കിലിക്ക്യയിലും ജാതികളില് നിന്നു ചേര്ന്ന സഹോദരന്മാര്ക്കും വന്ദനം.

23. and wroten bi the hondis of hem, Apostlis and eldre britheren to hem that ben at Antioche, and Sirie, and Silice, britheren of hethen men, greting.

26. men that yauen her lyues for the name of oure Lord Jhesu Crist.

27. ആകയാല് ഞങ്ങള് യൂദയെയും ശീലാസിനെയും അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവര് വാമൊഴിയായും ഇതുതന്നേ അറിയിക്കും.

27. Therfor we senten Judas and Silas, and thei schulen telle the same thingis to you bi wordis.

28. വിഗ്രഹാര്പ്പിതം, രക്തം, ശ്വാസംമുട്ടിച്ചത്തതു, പരസംഗം എന്നിവ വര്ജ്ജിക്കുന്നതു ആവശ്യം എന്നല്ലാതെ അധികമായ ഭാരം ഒന്നും നിങ്ങളുടെ മേല് ചുമത്തരുതു എന്നു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിന്നും ഞങ്ങള്ക്കും തോന്നിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

28. For it is seyn to the Hooly Goost and to vs, to putte to you no thing more of charge, than these nedeful thingis,

30. അങ്ങനെ അവര് വിടവാങ്ങി അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയില് ചെന്നു ജനസമൂഹത്തെ കൂട്ടിവരുത്തി ലേഖനം കൊടുത്തു.

30. Therfor thei weren let go, and camen doun to Antioche; and whanne the multitude was gaderid, thei token the epistle;

31. അവര് ഈ ആശ്വാസവചനം വായിച്ചു സന്തോഷിച്ചു.

31. which whanne thei hadden red, thei ioyden on the coumfort.

32. യൂദയും ശീലാസും പ്രവാചകന്മാര് ആകകൊണ്ടു പല വചനങ്ങളാലും സഹോദരന്മാരെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചു ഉറപ്പിച്ചു.

32. And Judas and Silas and thei, for thei weren prophetis, coumfortiden britheren, and confermyden with ful many wordis.

33. കുറെനാള് താമസിച്ചശേഷം സഹോദരന്മാര് അവരെ അയച്ചവരുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു സമാധാനത്തോടെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു.

33. But aftir that thei hadden be there a lytil while, thei weren let go of britheren with pees, to hem that hadden sent hem.

34. എന്നാല് പൌലൊസും ബര്ന്നബാസും അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയില് പാര്ത്തു മറ്റു പലരോടും കൂടി കര്ത്താവിന്റെ വചനം ഉപദേശിച്ചും സുവിശേഷിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

34. But it was seyn to Silas, to dwelle there; and Judas wente aloone to Jerusalem.

35. കുറെനാള് കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു പൌലൊസ് ബര്ന്നബാസിനോടുനാം കര്ത്താവിന്റെ വചനം അറിയിച്ച പട്ടണംതോറും പിന്നെയും ചെന്നു സഹോദരന്മാര് എങ്ങനെയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നോക്കുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

35. And Poul and Barnabas dwelten at Antioche, techinge and prechinge the word of the Lord, with othere manye.

36. മര്ക്കൊസ് എന്ന യോഹന്നാനെയും കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു പോകുവാന് ബര്ന്നബാസ് ഇച്ഛിച്ചു.

36. But after summe daies, Poul seide to Barnabas, Turne we ayen, and visite britheren bi alle citees, in whiche we han prechid the word of the Lord, hou thei han hem.

37. പൌലൊസോ പംഫുല്യയില്നിന്നു തങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു പ്രവൃത്തിക്കു വരാതെ പോയവനെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു പോകുന്നതു യോഗ്യമല്ല എന്നു നിരൂപിച്ചു.

37. And Barnabas wolde take with hym Joon, that was named Marcus.

38. അങ്ങനെ അവര് തമ്മില് ഉഗ്രവാദമുണ്ടായിട്ടു വേര് പിരിഞ്ഞു. ബര്ന്നബാസ് മര്ക്കൊസിനെ കൂട്ടി കപ്പല്കയറി കുപ്രൊസ് ദ്വീപിലേക്കു പോയി.

38. But Poul preiede him, that he that departide fro hem fro Pamfilie, and wente not with hem in to the werk, schulde not be resseyued.

39. പൌലൊസോ ശീലാസിനെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു സഹോദരന്മാരാല് കര്ത്താവിന്റെ കൃപയില് ഭരമേല്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടു

39. And dissencioun was maad, so that thei departiden a twynny. And Barnabas took Mark, and cam bi boot to Cipre.

40. യാത്ര പുറപ്പെട്ടു സുറിയാ കിലിക്യാ ദേശങ്ങളില് കൂടി സഞ്ചരിച്ചു സഭകളെ ഉറപ്പിച്ചു പോന്നു.

40. And Poul chees Silas, and wente forth fro the britheren, and was bitakun to the grace of God.
