2. അവനെ വിളിച്ചാറെ തെര്ത്തുല്ലൊസ് അന്യായം വിവരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്

2. And he having been called, Tertullus began to accuse, saying, Seeing we enjoy great peace through thee, and that excellent measures are executed for this nation by thy forethought,

3. രാജശ്രീ ഫേലിക്സേ, നീമുഖാന്തരം ഞങ്ങള് വളരെ സമാധാനം അനുഭവിക്കുന്നതും നിന്റെ പരിപാലനത്താല് ഈ ജാതിക്കു ഏറിയ ഗുണീകരണങ്ങള് സാധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതും ഞങ്ങള് എപ്പോഴും എല്ലായിടത്തും പൂര്ണ്ണനന്ദിയോടും കൂടെ അംഗീകരിക്കുന്നു.

3. we receive [it] always and everywhere, most excellent Felix, with all thankfulness.

4. എങ്കിലും നിന്നെ അധികം അസഹ്യപ്പെടുത്തരുത് എന്നുവെച്ചു ക്ഷമയോടെ ചുരുക്കത്തില് ഞങ്ങളുടെ അന്യായം കേള്ക്കേണം എന്നു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

4. But that I may not too much intrude on thy time, I beseech thee to hear us briefly in thy kindness.

5. ഈ പുരുഷന് ഒരു ബാധയും ലോകത്തിലുള്ള സകല യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെയും ഇടയില് കലഹമുണ്ടാക്കുന്നവനും നസറായമതത്തിന്നു മുമ്പനും എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

5. For finding this man a pest, and moving sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a leader of the sect of the Nazaraeans;

6. അവന് ദൈവാലയം തീണ്ടിപ്പാനും ശ്രമിച്ചു. അവനെ ഞങ്ങള് പിടിച്ചു (ഞങ്ങളുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണപ്രകാരം വിസ്തരിപ്പാന് വിചാരിച്ചു.

6. who also attempted to profane the temple; whom we also had seized, [and would have judged according to our law;

7. എങ്കിലും സഹസ്രാധിപനായ ലുസിയാസ് വളരെ ബലത്തോടു വന്നു അവനെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോയി.

7. but Lysias, the chiliarch, coming up, took [him] away with great force out of our hands,

8. അവന്റെ വാദികള് നിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ വരുവാന് കല്പിച്ചു) നീ തന്നേ അവനെ വിസ്തരിച്ചാല് ഞങ്ങള് അന്യായം ബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഈ സകല സംഗതികളും അറിഞ്ഞുകൊള്വാന് ഇടയാകും.

8. having commanded his accusers to come to thee;] of whom thou canst thyself, in examining [him], know the certainty of all these things of which we accuse him.

9. അതു അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ എന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാരും യോജിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

9. And the Jews also joined in pressing the matter against [Paul], saying that these things were so.

10. സംസാരിക്കാം എന്നു ദേശാധിപതി ആംഗ്യം കാട്ടിയാറെ പൌലൊസ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതുഈ ജാതിക്കു നീ അനേകസംവത്സരമായി ന്യായാധിപതി ആയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അറിക കെണ്ടു എന്റെ കാര്യത്തില് ഞാന് ധൈര്യത്തോടെ പ്രതിവാദം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

10. But Paul, the governor having beckoned to him to speak, answered, Knowing that for many years thou hast been judge to this nation, I answer readily as to the things which concern myself.

11. ഞാന് യെരൂശലേമില് നമസ്കരിപ്പാന് പോയിട്ടു പന്ത്രണ്ടു നാളില് അധികമായില്ല എന്നു നിനക്കു അറിയാകുന്നതാകുന്നു.

11. As thou mayest know that there are not more than twelve days since I went up to worship at Jerusalem,

12. ദൈവാലയത്തിലോ പള്ളികളിലോ നഗരങ്ങളിലോവെച്ചു ആരോടും വാദിക്കയെങ്കിലും പുരുഷാരത്തില് കലഹം ഉണ്ടാക്കുകയെങ്കിലും ചെയ്യുന്നാതായി അവര് എന്നെ കണ്ടില്ല.

12. and neither in the temple did they find me discoursing to any one, or making any tumultuous gathering together of the crowd, nor in the synagogues, nor in the city;

13. ഇന്നു എന്റെ നേരെ ബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്ന അന്യായം നിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ തെളിയിപ്പാന് അവര്ക്കും കഴിയുന്നതുമല്ല.

13. neither can they make good the things of which they now accuse me.

14. എന്നാല് ഒന്നു ഞാന് സമ്മതിക്കുന്നുമതഭേദം എന്നു ഇവര് പറയുന്ന മാര്ഗ്ഗപ്രകാരം ഞാന് പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവത്തെ ആരാധിക്കയും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിലും പ്രവാചകപുസ്തകങ്ങളിലും എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും വിശ്വസിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

14. But this I avow to thee, that in the way which they call sect, so I serve my fathers' God, believing all things which are written throughout the law, and in the prophets;

15. നീതിമാന്മാരുടെയും നീതികെട്ടവരുടെയും പുനരുത്ഥാനം ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു ഇവര് കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഞാനും ദൈവത്തിങ്കല് ആശവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

15. having hope towards God, which they themselves also receive, that there is to be a resurrection both of just and unjust.

16. അതു കൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു ദൈവത്തോടും മനുഷ്യരോടും കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത മനസ്സാക്ഷി എല്ലായ്പോഴും ഉണ്ടായിരിപ്പാന് ഞാന് ശ്രമിക്കുന്നു.

16. For this cause I also exercise [myself] to have in everything a conscience without offence towards God and men.

17. പലസംവത്സരം കൂടീട്ടു ഞാന് എന്റെ ജാതിക്കാര്ക്കും ധര്മ്മം കൊണ്ടുവരുവാനും വഴിപാടു കഴിപ്പാനും വന്നു.

17. And after a lapse of many years I arrived, bringing alms to my nation, and offerings.

18. അതു അനുഷ്ഠിക്കുമ്പോള് അവര് എന്നെ ദൈവാലയത്തില്വെച്ചു ശുദ്ധീകരണം കഴിഞ്ഞവനായി കണ്ടു; പുരുഷാരത്തോടു കൂടിയല്ല, കലഹത്തോടുകൂടിയുമല്ല.

18. Whereupon they found me purified in the temple, with neither crowd nor tumult. But it was certain Jews from Asia,

19. എന്നാല് ആസ്യക്കാരായ ചില യെഹൂദന്മാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവര്ക്കും എന്റെ നേരെ അന്യായം ഉണ്ടെങ്കില് നിന്റെ മുമ്പില് വന്നു ബോധിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതായിരുന്നു.

19. who ought to appear before thee and accuse, if they have anything against me;

20. അല്ല, ഞാന് ന്യായാധിപസംഘത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പില് നിലക്കുമ്പോള് മരിച്ചവരുടെ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ഇന്നു നിങ്ങള് എന്നെ വിസ്തരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞോരു വാക്കല്ലാതെ

20. or let these themselves say what wrong they found in me when I stood before the council,

21. അവിടെ വെച്ചു എന്റെ പക്കല് വല്ല കുറ്റവും കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടങ്കില് ഇവര് തന്നേ പറയട്ടെ

21. [other] than concerning this one voice which I cried standing amongst them: I am judged this day by you touching [the] resurrection of [the] dead.

22. ഫേലിക്സിന്നു ഈ മാര്ഗ്ഗം സംബന്ധിച്ചു സൂക്ഷ്മമായ അറിവു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നിട്ടുംലുസിയാസ് സഹസ്രാധിപന് വരുമ്പോള് ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ കാര്യം തീര്ച്ചപ്പെടുത്തും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവധിവെച്ചു,

22. And Felix, knowing accurately the things concerning the way, adjourned them, saying, When Lysias the chiliarch is come down I will determine your affair;

23. ശതാധിപനോടു അവനെ തടവില് തന്നേ സൂക്ഷിച്ചു ദയകാണിപ്പാനും അവന്റെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാര് അവന്നു ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്യുന്നതു വിരോധിക്കാതിരിപ്പാനും കല്പിച്ചു.

23. ordering the centurion to keep him, and that he should have freedom, and to hinder none of his friends to minister to him.

24. കുറെനാള് കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഫേലിക്സ് യെഹൂദ സ്ത്രീയായ തന്റെ ഭാര്യ ദ്രുസില്ലയുമായി വന്നു, പൌലൊസിനെ വരുത്തി ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിലുള്ള വിശ്വാസത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു അവന്റെ പ്രസംഗം കേട്ടു.

24. And after certain days, Felix having arrived with Drusilla his wife, who was a Jewess, he sent for Paul and heard him concerning the faith in Christ.

25. എന്നാല് അവന് നീതി, ഇന്ദ്രീയജയം, വരുവാനുള്ള ന്യായവിധി എന്നിവയെക്കുറിച്ചു സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോള് ഫേലിക്സ് ഭയപരവശനായിതല്ക്കാലം പോകാം; അവസരം ഉള്ളപ്പോള് നിന്നെ വിളിപ്പിക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

25. And as he reasoned concerning righteousness, and temperance, and the judgment about to come, Felix, being filled with fear, answered, Go for the present, and when I get an opportunity I will send for thee;

26. പൌലൊസ് തനിക്കു ദ്രവ്യം തരും എന്നു ആശിച്ചു പലപ്പോഴും അവനെ വരുത്തി അവനോടു സംഭാഷിച്ചു പോന്നു.

26. hoping at the same time that money would be given him by Paul: wherefore also he sent for him the oftener and communed with him.

27. രണ്ടാണ്ടു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഫേലിക്സിന്നു പിന് വാഴിയായി പൊര്ക്ക്യൊസ് ഫെസ്തൊസ് വന്നപ്പോള് ഫേലിക്സ് യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ പ്രീതി സമ്പാദിക്കേണം എന്നു വെച്ചു പൌലൊസിനെ തടവുകാരനായി വിട്ടേച്ചുപോയി.

27. But when two years were completed, Felix was relieved by Porcius Festus as his successor; and Felix, desirous to oblige the Jews, to acquire their favour, left Paul bound.
