1. അഗ്രിപ്പാവു പൌലൊസിനോടുനീന്റെ കാര്യം പറവാന് അനുവാദം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞപ്പോള് പൌലൊസ് കൈനീട്ടി പ്രതിവാദിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. Then Agrippa sayde vnto Paul, thou art permitted to speake for thy selfe. Then Paul stretched foorth the hande, and aunswered [for hym selfe]

2. അഗ്രിപ്പാരാജാവേ, യെഹൂദന്മാര് എന്റെ മേല് ചുമത്തുന്ന എല്ലാ കുറ്റങ്ങളെയും കുറിച്ചു ഇന്നു തിരുമുമ്പാകെ പ്രതിവാദിപ്പാന് ഇടവന്നതുകൊണ്ടു,

2. I thynke my selfe happy, king Agrippa, because I shall aunswere this day before thee, of all the thynges whereof I am accused of the Iewes:

3. വിശേഷാല് നീ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിലെ ആചാരങ്ങളും തര്ക്കങ്ങളും എല്ലാം അറിയുന്നവന് ആകയാല് ഞാന് ഭാഗ്യവാന് എന്നു നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ പ്രതിവാദം ക്ഷമയോടേ കേള്ക്കേണമെന്നു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

3. Namely, because thou art expert in all customes and questions, whiche are among the Iewes: Wherefore I beseche thee to heare me patiently.

4. എന്റെ ജാതിക്കാരുടെ ഇടയിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും ആദിമുതല് ബാല്യംതുടങ്ങിയുള്ള എന്റെ നടപ്പു യെഹൂദന്മാര് എല്ലാവരും അറിയുന്നു.

4. My lyfe, that I haue led of a chylde, which was at the first among myne owne nation at Hierusalem, knowe all the Iewes,

5. ഞാന് നമ്മുടെ മാര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് സൂക്ഷ്മത ഏറിയ മതഭേദപ്രകാരം പരീശനായി ജീവിച്ചു എന്നു അവര് ആദിമുതല് അറിയുന്നു; അവര്ക്കും മനസ്സുണ്ടെങ്കില് സാക്ഷ്യം പറയാം.

5. Which knewe me from the beginning, (yf they woulde testifie) that after the most straytest sect of our religion, I lyued a pharisee.

6. ദൈവത്താല് നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും ലഭിച്ചതും

6. And nowe I stande and am iudged, for the hope of the promise made of God vnto our fathers:

7. നമ്മുടെ പന്ത്രണ്ടു ഗോത്രങ്ങളും രാപ്പകല് ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ ആരാധിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു എത്തിപ്പിടിപ്പാന് ആശിക്കുന്നതും ആയ വാഗ്ദത്തത്തിലുള്ള പ്രത്യാശഹേതുവായിട്ടത്രേ ഞാന് ഇപ്പോള് വിസ്താരത്തില് ആയിരിക്കുന്നതു. ആ പ്രത്യാശയെച്ചൊല്ലി ആകുന്നു രാജാവേ, യെഹൂദന്മാര് എന്റെമേല് കുറ്റം ചുമത്തുന്നതു.

7. Unto which promise, our twelue tribes instantly seruyng God day & nyght, hope to come. For which hopes sake, kyng Agrippa, I am accused of the Iewes.

8. ദൈവം മരിച്ചവരെ ഉയിര്പ്പിക്കുന്നതു വിശ്വാസയോഗ്യമല്ല എന്നു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തോന്നുന്നത് എന്തു?

8. Why shoulde it be thought a thyng incredible vnto you, that God shoulde rayse agayne the dead?

9. നസറായനായ യേശുവിന്റെ നാമത്തിന്നു വിരോധമായി പലതും പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കേണം എന്നു ഞാനും വിചാരിച്ചു സത്യം.

9. I also veryly thought in my selfe that I ought to do many contrary thynges, cleane agaynst the name of Iesus of Nazareth:

10. അതു ഞാന് യെരൂശലേമില് ചെയ്തിട്ടുമുണ്ടു; മഹാ പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടു അധികാരപത്രം വാങ്ങി വിശുദ്ധന്മാരില് പലരെയും തടവില് ആക്കി അടെച്ചു; അവരെ നിഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന സമയം ഞാനും സമ്മതം കൊടുത്തു.

10. Which thyng I also dyd in Hierusalem. And many of the Saintes dyd I shut vp in pryson, hauyng receaued aucthoritie of the hye priestes: And when they were put to death, I gaue the sentence.

11. ഞാന് എല്ലാ പള്ളികളിലും അവരെ പലപ്പോഴും ദണ്ഡിപ്പിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു ദൂഷണം പറവാന് നിര്ബന്ധിക്കയും അവരുടെ നേരെ അത്യന്തം ഭ്രാന്തുപിടിച്ചു അന്യപട്ടണങ്ങളോളവും ചെന്നു അവരെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

11. And I punished them oft in euery synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme: and was yet more mad vpon them, and persecuted them, euen vnto straunge cities.

12. ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തുവരികയില് ഞാന് മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ അധികാരത്തോടും ആജ്ഞയോടും കൂടെ ദമസ്കൊസിലേക്കു യാത്രപോകുമ്പോള്,

12. About which thynges, as I went to Damascus, with auctoritie and commission of the hye priestes:

13. രാജാവേ, നട്ടുച്ചെക്കു ഞാന് വഴിയില്വെച്ചു സൂര്യന്റെ പ്രകാശത്തെ കവിഞ്ഞൊരു വെളിച്ചം ആകാശത്തില് നിന്നു എന്നെയും എന്നോടു കൂടെ യാത്രചെയ്യുന്നവരെയും ചുറ്റി പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

13. Euen at mydday, O kyng, I sawe in the way, a lyght from heauen, aboue the bryghtnesse of the Sunne, shyne rounde about me and them which iourneyed with me.

14. ഞങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും നിലത്തു വീണപ്പോള്ശൌലെ, ശൌലെ, നീ എന്നെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്നത് എന്തു? മുള്ളിന്റെ നേരെ ഉതെക്കുന്നതു നിനക്കു വിഷമം ആകുന്നു എന്നു എബ്രായഭാഷയില് എന്നോടു പറയുന്നൊരു ശബ്ദം ഞാന് കേട്ടു.

14. And when we were all fallen to the earth, I hearde a voyce speakyng vnto me, and saying in the Hebrewe tongue: Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? It is harde for thee to kicke agaynste the prickes.

15. നീ ആരാകുന്നു കര്ത്താവേ, എന്നു ഞാന് ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു കര്ത്താവുനീ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്ന യേശു തന്നേ ഞാന് ;

15. And I sayde: Who art thou Lorde? And he sayde: I am Iesus whom thou persecutest.

16. എങ്കിലും എഴുന്നേറ്റു നിവിര്ന്നു നില്ക്ക; നീ എന്നെ കണ്ടതിന്നും ഇനി ഞാന് നിനക്കു പ്രത്യക്ഷന് ആവാനിരിക്കുന്നതിന്നും നിന്നെ ശുശ്രൂഷകനും സാക്ഷിയുമായി നിയമിപ്പാന് ഞാന് നിനക്കു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി.

16. But ryse and stande vpon thy feete. For I haue appeared vnto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witnesse, both of those thynges which thou hast seene, and of those thynges in the which I wyll appeare vnto thee,

17. ജനത്തിന്റെയും ജാതികളുടെയും കയ്യില്നിന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കും.

17. Delyueryng thee from the people, and from the gentiles, vnto whom nowe I sende thee,

18. അവര്ക്കും പാപമോചനവും എന്നിലുള്ള വിശ്വാസത്താല് ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരുടെ ഇടയില് അവകാശവും ലഭിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ കണ്ണു തുറപ്പാനും അവരെ ഇരുളില്നിന്നു വെളിച്ചത്തിലേക്കും സാത്താന്റെ അധികാരത്തില് നിന്നു ദൈവത്തിങ്കലേക്കും തിരിപ്പാനും ഞാന് ഇപ്പോള് നിന്നെ അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് അയക്കുന്നു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

18. To open their eyes, that they may be turned from darknesse to lyght, & from the power of Satan vnto God, that they may receaue forgeuenes of sinnes, & inheritaunce among them which are sanctified by fayth that is towarde me.

19. അതുകൊണ്ടു അഗ്രിപ്പാരാജാവേ, ഞാന് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗീയദര്ശനത്തിന്നു അനുസരണക്കേടു കാണിക്കാതെ

19. Wherfore, O kyng Agrippa, I was not disobedient vnto the heauenly visio:

20. ആദ്യം ദമസ്കൊസിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും യെഹൂദ്യദേശത്തെങ്ങും ഉള്ളവരോടും പിന്നെ ജാതികളോടും മാനസാന്തരപ്പെട്ടു ദൈവത്തിങ്കലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു മാനസാന്തരത്തിന്നു യോഗ്യമായ പ്രവൃത്തികള് ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു പ്രസംഗിച്ചു.

20. But shewed first vnto them of Damascus, & at Hierusalem, and throughout all the coastes of Iurie, and then to the gentiles, that they shoulde repent, and turne to God, and do such workes as become them that repent.

21. ഇതു നിമിത്തം യെഹൂദന്മാര് ദൈവാലയത്തില് വെച്ചു എന്നെ പിടിച്ചു കൊല്ലുവാന് ശ്രമിച്ചു.

21. For this cause the Iewes caught me in the temple, & went about to kyll me.

22. എന്നാല് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സഹായം ലഭിക്കയാല് ഞാന് ഇന്നുവരെ നില്ക്കയും ചെറിയവരോടും വലിയവരോടും സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞു പോരുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

22. Seyng therefore, that I haue obtayned helpe of God, I continue vnto this day, witnessyng both to small and to great, saying none other thynges, then those which the prophetes and Moyses dyd say shoulde come:

23. ക്രിസ്തു കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിക്കയും മരിച്ചവരുടെ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തില് ആദ്യനായി ജനത്തോടും ജാതികളോടും വെളിച്ചം അറിയിക്കയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു പ്രവാചകന്മാരും മോശെയും ഭാവികാലത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു പ്രസ്ഥാവിച്ചതൊഴികെ വേറെയൊന്നും ഞാന് പറയുന്നില്ല.

23. That Christe shoulde suffer, and that he shoulde be the first that shoulde ryse from the dead, and shoulde shewe lyght vnto the people, and to the gentiles.

24. ഇങ്ങനെ പ്രതിവാദിക്കയില് ഫെസ്തൊസ്പൌലൊസേ, നിനക്കു ഭ്രാന്തുണ്ടു; വിദ്യാ ബഹുത്വത്താല് നിനക്കു ഭ്രാന്തു പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉറക്കെ പറഞ്ഞു.

24. And as he thus spake for hym selfe, Festus sayde with a loude voyce: Paul, thou art besyde thy selfe, much learnyng doth make thee mad.

25. അതിന്നു പൌലൊസ്രാജശ്രീ ഫെസ്തൊസേ, എനിക്കു ഭ്രാന്തില്ല; ഞാന് സത്യവും സുബോധവുമായ വാക്കത്രേ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു.

25. But he sayde: I am not mad, most noble Festus, but speake foorth the wordes of trueth and sobernesse.

26. രാജാവിന്നു ഇതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അറിവുള്ളതുകൊണ്ടു അവനോടു ഞാന് പ്രാഗത്ഭ്യത്തോടെ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്നു ഇതു ഒന്നും മറവായിരിക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നു എനിക്കു നിശ്ചയമുണ്ടു; അതു ഒരു കോണില് നടന്നതല്ല.

26. For the kyng knoweth of these thynges, before whom also I speake freely, neither thynke I, that any of these thynges are hydden from him: For this thyng was not done in a corner.

27. അഗ്രിപ്പാരാജാവേ, പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നുവോ? വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. Kyng Agrippa, beleuest thou the prophetes? I wote wel that thou beleuest.

28. അഗ്രിപ്പാ പൌലൊസിനോടുഞാന് ക്രിസ്ത്യാനിയായിത്തിരുവാന് നീ എന്നെ അല്പം കൊണ്ടു സമ്മതിപ്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. - അതിന്നു പൌലൊസ്;

28. Then Agrippa sayde vnto Paul: Somewhat thou perswadest me to be a christian.

29. നീ മാത്രമല്ല, ഇന്നു എന്റെ പ്രസംഗം കേള്ക്കുന്നവര് എല്ലാവരും അല്പംകൊണ്ടാകട്ടെ അധികം കൊണ്ടാകട്ടെ ഈ ചങ്ങല ഒഴികെ എന്നെപ്പോലെ ആകേണം എന്നു ഞാന് ദൈവത്തോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. And Paul sayde: I woulde to God, that not only thou, but also all that heare me to day, were both somewhat, and also in a great deale, such as I am, except these bondes.

30. അപ്പോള് രാജാവും ദേശാധിപതിയും ബെര്ന്നീക്കയും അവരോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നവരും എഴുന്നേറ്റു മാറി നിന്നു

30. And when he had thus spoken, the king rose vp, and the deputie, & Bernice, and they that sate with them.

31. ഈ മനുഷ്യന് മരണത്തിന്നോ ചങ്ങലെക്കോ യോഗ്യമായതു ഒന്നും ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല എന്നു തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞു.

31. And when they were gone apart, they talked betwene the selues, saying: This man doth nothyng worthy of death, or of bondes.

32. കൈസരെ അഭയം ചൊല്ലിയിരുന്നില്ലെങ്കില് അവനെ വിട്ടയപ്പാന് കഴിയുമായിരുന്നു എന്നു അഗ്രിപ്പാവു ഫെസ്തൊസിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

32. Then sayde Agrippa vnto Festus: This man myght haue ben let loose, yf he had not appealed vnto Caesar.
