1. അവര് ജനത്തോടു സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് തന്നേ പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ദൈവാലയത്തിലെ പടനായകനും സദൂക്യരും

1. As they spake unto the people, the priests and the ruler of the temple, and the sadducees came upon them,

2. അവരുടെ നേരെ വന്നു, അവര് ജനത്തെ ഉപദേശിക്കയാലും മരിച്ചവരില് നിന്നുള്ള പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തെ യേശുവിന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടാന്തത്താല് അറിയിക്കയാലും നീരസപ്പെട്ടു.

2. taking (it) grievously that they taught the people and preached in the name of Jesus(in Iesus) the resurrection from death.

3. അവരെ പിടിച്ചു വൈകുന്നേരം ആകകൊണ്ടു പിറ്റെന്നാള്വരെ കാവലിലാക്കി.

3. And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold until the next day.(till the morrow) For it was now eventide.

4. എന്നാല് വചനം കേട്ടവരില് പലരും വിശ്വസിച്ചു; പുരുഷന്മാരുടെ എണ്ണംതന്നേ അയ്യായിരത്തോളം ആയി.

4. (Howbeit) Many of them which heard the words believed, and the number of the men was about five thousand.

5. പിറ്റെന്നാള് അവരുടെ പ്രമാണികളും മൂപ്പന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും യെരൂശലേമില് ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടി;

5. (And) It chanced on the morrow that their rulers, and seniors,(elders) and scribes,

6. മഹാപുരോഹിതനായ ഹന്നാവും കയ്യഫാവും യോഹന്നാനും അലെക്സന്തരും മഹാപുരോഹിതവംശത്തിലുള്ളവര് ഒക്കെയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

6. as Annas the chief priest, and Caiaphas, and John and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem,

7. ഇവര് അവരെ നടുവില് നിറുത്തിഏതു ശക്തികൊണ്ടോ ഏതു നാമത്തിലോ നിങ്ങള് ഇതു ചെയ്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

7. and set them in the midst,(set the other before them) and asked by what power,(authority) or in what name have ye done this sirs?

8. പത്രൊസ് പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിറഞ്ഞവനായി അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുജനത്തിന്റെ പ്രമാണികളും മൂപ്പന്മാരും ആയുള്ളോരേ,

8. Then Peter full of the holy ghost said unto them. Ye rulers of the people, and seniors(elders) of Israel,

9. ഈ ബലഹീനമനുഷ്യന്നു ഉണ്ടായ ഉപകാരം നിമിത്തം ഇവന് എന്തൊന്നിനാല് സൌഖ്യമായി എന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ ഇന്നു വിസ്തരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് നിങ്ങള് ക്രൂശിച്ചവനും.

9. if we this day are examined of the good deed done to the sick man by what means he is made whole:

10. ദൈവം മരിച്ചവരില് നിന്നു ഉയിര്പ്പിച്ചവനുമായി നസറായനായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നാമത്തില് തന്നേ ഇവന് സൌഖ്യമുള്ളവനായി നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില് നിലക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും യിസ്രായേല് ജനം ഒക്കെയും അറിഞ്ഞുകൊള്വിന് .

10. be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, and whom God raised from death again, this man standeth(even by him doth this man stand) here present before you whole.

11. വീടുപണിയുന്നവരായ നിങ്ങള് തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞിട്ടു കോണിന്റെ മൂലക്കല്ലായിത്തീര്ന്ന കല്ലു ഇവന് തന്നേ.

11. This is the stone cast aside(refused) of you builders which is set in the chief place of the corner.(become the head corner stone)

12. മറ്റൊരുത്തനിലും രക്ഷ ഇല്ല; നാം രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവാന് ആകാശത്തിന് കീഴില് മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയില് നല്കപ്പെട്ട വേറൊരു നാമവും ഇല്ല.

12. Neither is there health(salvation) in any other. Nor yet also is there any other name given to men wherein we must be saved.

13. അവര് പത്രൊസിന്റെയും യോഹന്നാന്റെയും ധൈര്യം കാണ്കയാലും ഇവര് പഠിപ്പില്ലാത്തവരും സാമാന്യരുമായ മനുഷ്യര് എന്നു ഗ്രഹിക്കയാലും ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു; അവര് യേശുവിനോടുകൂടെ ആയിരുന്നവര് എന്നും അറിഞ്ഞു.

13. When they saw the boldness of Peter and John; And knew(understood) that they were unlearned men and lay people, they marveled, and they knew them, that they were with Jesu:

14. സൌഖ്യം പ്രാപിച്ച മനുഷ്യന് അവരോടുകൂടെ നിലക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടതുകൊണ്ടു അവര്ക്കും എതിര് പറവാന് വകയില്ലായിരുന്നു.

14. Seeing(and beholding) also the man which was healed standing with them, they could not say against it,

15. അവരോടു ന്യായാധിപസംഘത്തില്നിന്നു പുറത്തുപോകുവാന് കല്പിച്ചിട്ടു അവര് തമ്മില് ആലോചിച്ചു

15. but (they) commanded them to go aside out of the council; And communed(counsell and counceled) among themselves

16. ഈ മനുഷ്യരെ എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു? പ്രത്യക്ഷമായോരു അടയാളം അവര് ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യെരൂശലേമില് പാര്ക്കുംന്ന എല്ലാവര്ക്കും പ്രസിദ്ധമല്ലോ; നിഷേധിപ്പാന് നമുക്കു കഴിവില്ല.

16. saying: what shall we do to these men? For a manifest sign is done by them, and is openly known to all them that dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it:

17. എങ്കിലും അതു ജനത്തില് അധികം പരക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് അവര് യാതൊരു മനുഷ്യനോടും ഈ നാമത്തില് ഇനി സംസാരിക്കരുതെന്നു നാം അവരെ തര്ജ്ജനം ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

17. But that it be noised no farther among the people, let us threaten and charge them that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.

18. പിന്നെ അവരെ വിളിച്ചിട്ടുയേശുവിന്റെ നാമത്തില് അശേഷം സംസാരിക്കരുതു, ഉപദേശിക്കയും അരുതു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

18. And they called them, and commanded them that in no wise they should speak or teach in the name of Jesu.

19. അതിന്നു പത്രൊസും യോഹന്നാനുംദൈവത്തെക്കാള് അധികം നിങ്ങളെ അനുസരിക്കുന്നതു ദൈവത്തിന്റേ മുമ്പാകെ ന്യായമോ എന്നു വിധിപ്പിന് .

19. But Peter and John answered unto them and said: whether it be right in the sight of God to obey you more than God judge ye.

20. ഞങ്ങള്ക്കോ ഞങ്ങള് കണ്ടും കേട്ടുമിരിക്കുന്നതു പ്രസ്താവിക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് കഴിയുന്നതല്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

20. For we cannot but speak that which we have seen and heard.

21. എന്നാല് ഈ സംഭവിച്ച കാര്യംകൊണ്ടു എല്ലാം ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തുകയാല് അവരെ ശിക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിനു ജനംനിമിത്തം വഴി ഒന്നും കാണായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവര് പിന്നെയും തര്ജ്ജനം ചെയ്തു അവരെ വിട്ടയച്ചു.

21. So threatened they them and let them go; And found no thing how to punish them, because of the people: For all men lauded(praised) God for the miracle which was done.

22. ഈ അത്ഭുതത്താല് സൌഖ്യം പ്രാപിച്ച മനുഷ്യന് നാല്പതില് അധികം വയസ്സുള്ളവനായിരുന്നു.

22. For the man was above forty year old, on whom this miracle(token) of healing was shewed.

23. വിട്ടയച്ചശേഷം അവര് കൂട്ടാളികളുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും തങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞതു എല്ലാം അറിയിച്ചു.

23. As soon as they were let go they came to their fellows, and shewed all that the high priests and seniors(elders) had said. (to them:)

24. അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു അവര് ഒരുമനപ്പെട്ടു ദൈവത്തോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതുആകശവും ഭൂമിയും സമുദ്രവും അവയിലുള്ള സകലവും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ നാഥനേ,

24. (And) When they heard that, with one mind (accord) they lift(lifted) up their voices to God and said: Lord, thou art God which hast made heaven and earth, the sea and all that in them is,

25. “ജാതികള് കലഹിക്കുന്നതും വംശങ്ങള് വ്യര്ത്ഥമായതു നിരൂപിക്കുന്നതും എന്തു?

25. which (in the holy ghost) by the mouth of thy servant David (our father) hast said: Why did the heathen grudge,(rage) and the people imagine vain things.

26. ഭൂമിയിലെ രാജാക്കന്മാര്അണിനിരക്കുകയും അധിപതികള് കര്ത്താവിന്നു വിരോധമായും അവന്റെ അഭിഷിക്തന്നു വിരോധമായും ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു നിന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദ് മുഖാന്തരം പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനാല് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തവനേ,

26. The kings of the earth stood up and the rulers came together against the Lord; And against his Christ.

27. നീ അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്ത യേശു എന്ന നിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധദാസനു വിരോധമായി ഹെരോദാവും പൊന്തിയൊസ് പീലാത്തൊസും ജാതികളും യിസ്രായേല് ജനവുമായി ഈ നഗരത്തില് ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടി,

27. For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod and also Pontius Pilate with the gentiles, and the people of Israel, gathered themselves together(to gether) (in this city)

28. സംഭവിക്കേണം എന്നു നിന്റെ കയ്യും നിന്റെ ആലോചനയും മുന്നിയമിച്ചതു ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു സത്യം.

28. for to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.

29. ഇപ്പോഴോ കര്ത്താവേ, അവരുടെ ഭീഷണികളെ നോക്കേണമേ.

29. And now Lord behold their threatenings, and grant unto thy servants with all confidence(steadfast boldness) to speak thy word.

30. സൌഖ്യമാക്കുവാന് നിന്റെ കൈ നീട്ടുന്നതിനാലും നിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധദാസനായ യേശുവിന്റെ നാമത്താല് അടയാളങ്ങളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടാകുന്നതിനാലും നിന്റെ വചനം പൂര്ണ്ണധൈര്യത്തോടും കൂടെ പ്രസ്താവിപ്പാന് നിന്റെ ദാസന്മാര്ക്കും കൃപ നല്കേണമേ.
സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ 89:19

30. So that thou stretch forth thy(thine) hand that healing, and signs,(tokens) and wonders be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.

31. ഇങ്ങനെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചപ്പോള് അവര് കൂടിയിരുന്ന സ്ഥലം കുലുങ്ങി; എല്ലാവരും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിറഞ്ഞവരായി ദൈവവചനം ധൈര്യത്തോടെ പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു.

31. And as soon as they had prayed, the place moved where they were assembled(gathered) together, and they were all filled with the holy ghost, and they spake the word of God boldly.

32. വിശ്വസിച്ചവരുടെ കൂട്ടം ഏകഹൃദയവും ഏകമനസ്സും ഉള്ളവരായിരുന്നു; തനിക്കുള്ളതു ഒന്നും സ്വന്തം എന്നു ആരും പറഞ്ഞില്ല;

32. (And) The multitude of them that believed, were of one heart; And of one soul. Also none of them said, that any thing of those(of the things) which he possessed was his own: But had all things common.

33. സകലവും അവര്ക്കും പൊതുവായിരുന്നു. അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാര് മഹാശക്തിയോടെ കര്ത്താവായ യേശുവിന്റെ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തിനു സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞുവന്നു; എല്ലാവര്ക്കും ധാരാളം കൃപ ലഭിച്ചിരുന്നു.

33. And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesu. And great grace was with them all.

34. മുട്ടുള്ളവര് ആരും അവരില് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; നിലങ്ങളുടെയോ വീടുകളുടെയോ ഉടമസ്ഥന്മാരായവര് ഒക്കെയും അവയെ വിറ്റു വില കൊണ്ടു വന്നു

34. Neither was there any among them that lacked. For as many as were possessors of lands or houses, sold them and brought the price of the things that were sold,

35. അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരുടെ കാല്ക്കല് വേക്കും; പിന്നെ ഔരോരുത്തന്നു അവനവന്റെ ആവശ്യംപോലെ വിഭാഗിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും.

35. and laid it down at the apostles' feet. And distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

36. പ്രബോധനപുത്രന് എന്നു അര്ത്ഥമുള്ള ബര്ന്നബാസ് എന്നു അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാര് മറുപേര് വിളിച്ച കുപ്രദ്വീപുകാരനായ യോസേഫ്

36. And Joses which was also called of the apostles Barnabas (that is to say the son of consolation, being a Levite, and of the country of Cipers)

37. എന്നൊരു ലേവ്യന് തനിക്കുണ്ടായിരുന്ന നിലം വിറ്റു പണം കൊണ്ടുവന്നു അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരുടെ കാല്ക്കല് വെച്ചു.

37. had land, and sold it, and laid the price down at the apostles' feet.
